Unfortunately I when to brunch here today. My server did a great job and was very friendly. The food was decent but the establishment was filthy. My table has many visible stains as well as the floors. The worst part was the ice cream machine dad over a dozen flies on it and no out of service note. There was melting ice cream and a child could have attempted to use that, maggots will also form where there are many flies. Corporate needs to take a look at this location and the Health Department.

Ok so we all know what we're expecting here so I can't fault them any less. The quality does seem to have gone down continuously. Worst part is that it was waaay too cold inside. Maybe 50 degrees. My kids had to keep warming their hands and couldn't take off their coats which is inexcusable.

Tacos made to order (juicy pork tacos with cheese)

Four star experience every time we come here on a Saturday or Sunday. They have made to order tacos below the huge "fiesta" sign. Really good, juicy meat tacos with a whole variety of ingredients to put with it. Today we got some carnitas and another diff kind of pork (there was also an option of beef, chorizo, and chicken). They grill the tortillas with cheese, add on the juicy meat, and I've topped mine with cilantro, onions, tomatoes, and some grilled peppers. For the tacos itself, I'd have to probably give it five stars. Tortilla and melted cheese are crispy, meat is soft and super juicy. I'd have to admit these tacos were better than a good amount of taco places I've been to. Together with the restaurant as a whole, I'll have to average it out to four stars total. I haven't found other food here I'm dying to eat again. Quality of the tacos are way higher than the rest of the food here. Id definitely recommend coming on a weekend. (We came at night, not sure if they have these for lunch). One huge plus is that all my kids end up finding something they want to eat here and it's a plus that they get to get dessert here too.

I frequently order delivery of several family sized mashed potatoes and gravy. Depending who is in the kitchen I get a side dish with gravy or someone decides to just drop a tea spoon of gravy on top of the large container. Totally insufficient.

I wanted a day off from cooking and my husband was always a big fan of Golden Corral so I suggested we go. It's been probably a decade since we've been. I didn't like going because I couldn't justify the price based on what I would eat even though my husband would pile on. After I made the suggestion the lightbulb went on, CHECK YELP REVIEWS! Yikes... not very positive but most very old, so I checked Google reviews and read newer reviews and felt better. We arrived around 4p. My husband and I do this, not just because we're old but we also beat the dinner rush. Boy did we!! $75 for a family of four seemed expensive to start. The food available is a lot different from what I remember. The presentation of the food was very nice. Nothing looked like it had been left sitting out for long. All of us made three trips to the buffet for main course items. I had bourbon chicken, pulled pork, and a fresh (nice!) dinner roll. For dessert I had chocolate cake, chocolate / yellow cake, and a red velvet cupcake. My husband got tacos and pot roast and so much more. A lot of desserts! My granddaughter had nachos, cheesy broccoli, fried rice, fried chicken... that's all I remember. Then ALOT of desserts as well. First thing when we sat down my grandson spilled his drink. I found our server Carly and she was AMAZING! I'm happy I tipped her ahead of time, when we got up to leave the place was packed and she was nowhere in sight. Golden Corral is back in my restaurant rotation. The pictures I'm posting are while we were eating. I always forget to take pictures. ENJOY!

This is what you get to choose from.

I love that there are unique Southern dishes like chicken and waffles, Southern fried chicken, and shrimp and grits. The coffee is hot, strong and accompanied by cute little baskets with individual creamers. The pancakes are super fluffy and served with a warm bottle of syrup. I am not a big fan of hot sauces as I don't eat spicy foods but had to dip a bite of chicken in the jalapeno hot sauce. It was really tasty and a tolerable amount of heat. I look forward to returning and trying even more versions of waffle or egg dishes here.

The frappe was also really good. My friend ordered the avocado toast, which she liked, but her caramel macchiato was off at first it tasted mostly like milk with a little caramel. They did fix it though, so I'll give them credit for that. Only downside was she ended up feeling like she got food poisoning afterward. The egg on her dish had a thin film on it, so we're thinking it might not have been fully cooked, which is concerning. Service itself was good and the staff was nice. Parking was also easy, which is always a plus. Good food overall, but that situation definitely threw things off a bit.

Upon arrival we were rather confused because we walked right into a store and had no idea where the restaurant was until we followed the big crowd that came in after us. Once seated the tables were still rather dirty but after we asked for it to be cleaned they were quick about it. We ordered our food, and it did take a while to come out but it looked like everyone around us was waiting too but once one table's food came out we all had our food come out. My husband had French toast while I had one of their special plates with biscuits and gravy, eggs and their hash browns. My food came out a bit cold, and I think my favorite part of my plate was just the biscuit. We ordered a side of the garlic steak tips and the cinnamon apples to try and both of those were delish! For our little guy we ordered cinnamon pancakes but we're brought cereal "funfetti" they said they could remake it but it may take 15-20 minutes. We decide to just keep the plate for our little guy. After eating we decided to shop around the store a bit and man oh man was everything pricey. I ended up grabbing a little onesie for our kiddo but everything else was certainly more trinkety. Overall an okay experience, we're glad we tried it.

First, I don't know how many times we circled around to find the entrance until we realized we have to go through the gift shop to get in. Second, the menu was very limited. There wasn't really anything appetizing but since we're already there, we just ordered whatever from the menu. We got two steak entrees, a fish and fries, another item I can't remember. Yeah that's how bad the experience was. As expected, nobody enjoyed it. No one finished any of the entrees. There's no condiments available in the tables. I wanted catsup for my friends but we didn't know where the server was. There was only one other customer in the restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. We spent over $100 here for a meal we didn't enjoy. Never again.....

We ordered several appetizers, and they were all pretty mid. The buffalo shrimp was not cooked all the way through. The batter was still wet. The trio was not served hot. We all ordered our steaks medium well, but every single one came out well done. The main reason I came was for the Monte Cristo, and they had run out, which was extremely disappointing. The only positives were that my nephew enjoyed his burger, and my brother and sister enjoyed their drinks. Other than that, the entire visit was disappointing and a waste of money. Between finding a hair in the food, undercooked appetizers, overcooked steaks, and the restaurant being out of the one item I came for, I do not see myself coming back.

When we arrived, there was no one else waiting and I'd guess that only 75% of the tables had customers. Couldn't have been more wrong in our decision as we waited for over an hour post ordering before we actually received our meal. This is the longest we have waited for breakfast... EVER. Anyone with kids knows having kids sit still and wait with minimal sources of entertainment is hard enough, then add hunger to the equation and it's a recipe for disaster. What could have made our experience better? 1 - Be transparent about your delays upfront -- Empower your diners to make a decision around whether they'd want to wait or not given how busy you are. Don't continue to seat customers when your kitchen is severely behind and hope diners don't notice. 2 - A small gesture goes a long way -- It would have been nice for SC to offer a couple of biscuits given the excessive wait. 3 - Don't add insult to injury... by bringing butter and ketchup 30+ minutes before the meal arrives. It added to the frustration that even my 7yo remarked "what are we going to do with butter, we have no food". They offered more water even when all our water cups were clearly full. Don't really understand how more water would make us less hungry? Looking at another recent 1-star review, I can see the same pattern as our experience. This restaurant clearly doesn't fail gracefully on busy days... and they don't seem to care either. At the conclusion of our meal, we didn't even get the typical "how was your meal" question from anyone. I guess they already knew.

Hubby ordered the rib tips with fries, baked beans, and had the hot and mild barbecue sauce on the side. I ordered the 1/2 dark smoked chicken dinner with mac-n-cheese, spicy Cajun green beans, and spicy honey garlic barbecue sauce. I agree with Robert, that the sauce pairs very well with the chicken. The tips were tender and falling off the bone. He didn't care for the fries and loved the baked beans, even though they were a bit too spicy for him. My chicken was also very tender and I enjoyed the smokiness. The green beans had the right amount of spice although they were not as spicy as the baked beans. The mac-n-cheese was creamy. We were too full to order dessert. Maybe next time. This is a great neighborhood staple and will definitely be back.

He mentioned that if you're ordering appetizers, they should be ordered with the main meal. While we looked over the menu, water was offered. I ordered Blackened Catfish over brown rice and carrots. The catfish was tender and perfectly seasoned. My brother had grilled flounder with creamed corn. Like the catfish, the trout was tender and well-seasoned. The corn had a slight sweetness. Roger had Short ribs and mashed potatoes. The ribs were tender and did not need any sauce because they were seasoned well. We also ordered a side dish of Macaroni and Cheese. It was delicious! A mixture of Gouda cheese and other cheeses. Very creamy! The top layer cheese was baked perfectly! If you know, you know, it's all about the top layer of cheese The APPETIZERS: The Gumbo was spicy but delicious! You only taste the spice at the end . It's not overly spicy; it's just right. The fried chicken gizzards were tender but could have used a bit more seasoning. It was served over brown rice and gravy. If I'm not mistaken, there were maybe 8 or 9 gizzards. The fried green tomatoes were perfect! From the seasoning to the grilled shrimp on top. Oh yes, grilled shrimp with this delicious sauce drizzled over the tomatoes. 3 or 4 shrimp. They were delicious! I've never had fried green tomatoes served w/grilled shrimp--definitely a must-try if you've never had it. For dessert, pineapple upside-down cake with coconut cream on the side. It was soooo good! They could have removed the coconut cream, as it was not needed. And it was a shareable portion for 2-3 ppl. I spoke with him briefly From what I observed, it's a very casual dress code--jeans, shorts, blazers, etc. And I loved the quotes on the outside window of those who were killed, like George Floyd and Sandra Bland. This place was nice! The dining area was clean and decorated nicely. The choice of decor fit the overall scheme I look forward to visiting again, possibly next Spring.
