The food has changed since the last time I was here in May. It's very different and not in a good way. The pot roast is to be awesome. Now it's... how do I put this? The meat is still soft but it's stringy and hard to eat it doesn't fall apart like before not it's like shredded meat. Very difficult to eat. The broccoli and cheese I used to like is different. The broccoli tastes like plastic the cheese has a different taste. The carrot cake was a single layer not the two layer that they used to serve with the cream filling in the middle. The bathrooms were dirty. The urinals flush handles didn't work so they put ice in the urinal with some sort of cleaner on top of that. And last but not least... the parking lot, pot holes everywhere, don't think it's ever been repaired since they put it in originally. I would say it is ok, bur I have been to better Golden Corrals and this is one of the less interesting ones. The outside needs some maintenance, the sign needs to be fixed, and the place does not offer military discount which is surprising for me as most Golden Corrals do. The food was ok, best Golden Corral by far is down in the south of the US so don't expect much from Central US quality of food. Customer service is ok, plates and utensils are cleaned and inside area is cleaned. I would say food is not as readily restocked and sometimes it is not of the best quality. But, if you in the area and want to enjoy a buffet then I guess this would be it. read more

I've been coming here for years with my parents. The prices have definitely gone up, just like everything else. This GC has so much variety that everyone will be able to find something to eat and enjoy; especially the desserts! So many! My go to is the bourbon street chicken, which thankfully, hasn't changed too much over the years. One thing that I do notice every time I go is that the employees never can seem to keep up with cleaning the floors and tables. I don't understand all the low reviews, but most were from 1-2 years ago so there is that. I can only assume the business has improved greatly, because I found the restaurant inviting, windows, tables, floors were all clean, staff was super friendly, the gal stopped by frequently to ask if we needed refills and picked up our plates to keep our table uncluttered. There was a big variety of food and desserts, all very good and tasty, and even the salad bar had a variety of fresh lettuce and toppings, that surprised me. The area we sat was open but still gave us privacy for friendly conversation, and the staff never rushed us to leave, since we were there 2 hours. Ordered online drove 30 minutes to pick up food. Larry David looking dude at the front desk proceeds to tell at me that he doesn't have anyone to cook and doesn't care about my order. Answered all my questions with shouts. Extremely rude. My wife called the place to find out about a refund and the person who answered the phone told me he didn't know and didn't care about how to get it back. I understand that staffing is an issue and I am sympathetic. However it's not my fault that you have no staff don't take it out on me. Worst experience EVER! Didn't even eat because we walked out before eating. Still waiting for a response to get our money back and may have to dispute the credit card charges. After two phone messages to corporate (there's something really weird going on there- you can't get through to anyone) and an email, I'm not too hopeful for a response. When we first arrived a little after 4:30 on Sunday, there were three families ahead of us. It took almost 20 minutes to get to the cashier to get our beverages and pay. We walked in and half the restaurant was 'closed'. The other half was TRASHED with food all over the floor. I don't know if they had a big rush or what happened before we got there but I didn't see a bunch of cars leaving before we arrived. Most of the tables were already taken but we found one cleanish one. Off to see what the buffet had to offer. Well.... mostly empty dishes. If they weren't empty, they were definitely not fresh (fried fish). What was left of the spaghetti was SWIMMING in margarine water. The 'Mexican' rice was soup. The only thing that looked fresh was the salad bar. Nothing was marked but dressing is dressing to me. Now.... where to find utensils? How about nowhere. Looked for a good 5 minutes while my daughter sat at the table picking at her salad. Finally located a manager that was being yelled at by 2 employees while on the floor (no name tag and looked like she had stopped by on her day off - super casual clothes). Asked where to find silverware. I was told a server at our table. Told her we hadn't seen one and had someone at our table for at least 10 minutes (by this time it was 5:15) and nobody had stopped by. She got snippy at that point and told me the silver would be out shortly. I also asked about the lack of food. She snorted at me. I informed her that she didn't need to get an attitude, she shouldn't have employees yelling at her in front of guests as it creates a hostile environment, and let's walk her line. I showed her that out of 7 items on a short side of the line, 5 were empty. She went behind the line and started getting on the employee in that section and opening bags, putting the new food on top of the old. I overheard her tell the employee ' he didn't need to be there'. I had had enough!!!! Grabbed my poor husband and daughter and went to the register to get a refund. Still nobody acknowledged me. The 'manager' was still opening bags behind the line. I then heard other employees telling guests that sat in the 'closed' section they couldn't sit there EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE NO OPEN TABLES IN THE 'OPEN' SECTION. OH.... did I mention the employee that was yelling at the manager went to the front and was complaining to the cashier as people were trying to pay????? I finally got frustrated and left- figuring I would call corporate. That's a whole other story- nobody answers and when you try to leave a message the recording says that person is unavailable. read more

Don't know why everyone is bagging on this place. I go there about 3-4 times a year and it's always satisfactory. I've never run across the problems others post about like only having one or two deserts or hot foods cold or decimated salad bars. I've gone there for breakfasts, lunches and dinners and always come away feeling like I got my money's worth and good service. Matter of fact, the service is always great at this location. I love the fact that I can have chicken for breakfast if I want and bacon and eggs for lunch. The overlap between breakfast and lunch gives so many more options for diners. Not sure about evenings because we seldom do evening buffet-type meals but I'm sure it's still up to par. (Thinking about breaking that rule since they've been running a special on all kinds of chicken, my favorite.) And you can't beat their dinner rolls! Not sure what their special recipe is but they're great. Overall, this one is a very good value and great service. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it could use a little tidying up, keeping the floors clean and around the serving areas. This location is at par with every Golden Corral I have visited. The salad bar has great selections and everything seemed somewhat fresh. Our waiter was silent, but efficient. These, and the rolls with honey butter, are the only reasons for my two star rating. If you like over-cooked, mushy vegetables and pasta, and leather-like meat, this is definitely the place to go. I do not recommend using the facilities at this location as they were extremely dirty. My recommendation, don't go and find a different buffet if that is what you are hankering. I have been here once for lunch with some coworkers. It is located in Crown Pointe, a seemingly dying strip mall in NW Omaha. The sea of parking always seems to be devoid of cars or people. In any case, Golden Corral. What can I say about the food that has not been said. If you like Golden Corral provisions, you will like the food here. If just based on that, this would get a 3-star rating. However, this place was interestingly understaffed. This led to there being only one poor fella having to clean up the whole dining area. He was happily doing so, singing along with the music playing over the speakers. So, at least he was cheery and entertaining. But geez, there were dirty tables everywhere, with dirty plates stacked like a Jenga tower, mid-game. I've visited this location several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always good. Service is always courteous and helpful. It does get very busy at times and with that it is crazy! But the staff does a very good job keeping up. They run their rears off! I love to sit and watch the people and the staff. Very impressive. I will continue to visit this store. read more

This was the worst experience ever. Saturday at 5pm, walked in to a line clear to the door that did not move at all. One girl (Seven) was at the front doing everything herself. She was amazing. Manager (Bill) came to fix a sign and let us know that he could not believe why it was so busy, he said it is not even Mother's Day. We finally made it yo the front of the line where Bill finally started taking drink orders. We had a group of 5. 4 of us ordered tea, he filled a glass and said oh we are out of tea. I asked if they would be making more, he shook his head no & said that would take at least 20 mins. 1 said then i will take lemonade, he didn't have that either. Seven was very kind while paying to say when the line dies down I am going to make more tea & i will bring you some. SHE DID! She deserves a raise, i wish i had a job to offer her elsewhere!!!! We finally found a clean table to sit at. Went to the buffet & the only silverware available was spoons. We asked BILL for silverware and he said i can get you plastic. My dad no way was going to eat steak with plastic utensils. There was food al over the floor everywhere! Lets start with the salad bar....romaine lettuce was brown, iceberg lettuce was almost gone & full of water. It was set up very odd! Salad in the middle, some toppings that were available to the right, dressing clear to the left. Our waiter finally came with silverware. At one point I asked him for a glass of ice, he said just give me a few minutes. He never brought it. When asked again he brought water. Luckily the 3rd time he got it. On to the hot buffet...the only thing good about the fact they constantly ran out of foos is that it would come out hot, but then you had to race to get it. Never any meatloaf, several things did not have utensils to dish the food so people would just pick up corn on the cob and things with their bare hands. Never got pizza because by the time it cane out it was gone! Ordered a steak rare and always got it well done. The 2 desserts i tried a peanut butter cookie & chocolate cake were good. Wanted a brownie but they were never available. I kept laughing because there was a sign that said vanilla cupcakes but they were blueberry muffins with whip cream on top. Needless to say at $18 per person, I filled up on dinner rolls & another person filled up on mashed potatoes. It was ridiculous!!!! I will strongly encourage people not to bother as i told the people waiting in line as i was leaving. Not only not worth the money but not worth the wait in line either!!!! I visted the GC on N 72nd in Omaha,NE a few weeks ago. web site and signs on the doors says closes at 8pm.. not true on that night. 6:50 pm As I was parking an employee locks all the doors. NO explanation. A guest was leaving saying they are not putting out fresh food anymore. I walked in as another guest was leaving. I asked the cashier if they are closing, she wasnt sure but then she asked if this would be dine in or take out. I said take out. It was the most disgusting buffet place I had ever seen. The carpet was so dirty that my shoes would stick to it. the stinch of the carpet was even worse. I began to look to see what was available, it was horrible, dirty empty food trays, food all over the buffet. scraps of food on the floor. walls and ceiling were caked with dirt. Three years later gave it another shot. Sadly this time all steak was cooked medium-well or worse. Most offerings fairly tasty, some not so much. Stuffing/dressing was just a soggy mess. Good variety so I was able to find enough things I liked. Stew, chicken, mashed potatoes, etc. A reasonable choice for comfort foods. The surprise was a very decent, moist carrot cake. read more

Several times we've ended up with upset stomachs and it wasn't from over eating. It does make me leery. Watching the cross contamination of germs is crazy if you work in healthcare. My family and I decided to go and try them out again since we haven't been to Golden Corral for years! I personally do not like buffets but Golden Corral is pretty decent; 3 stars worth..... First of all, seating was terrible. I mean good to see that they were busy and that it was packed but the tables were so close to each other, I barely had room to move. The way they pack people so close to each other in such a small place= FIRE HAZARD! The food was okay. I think the only good thing there was the steak area and the fondue station. The steak guy is probably the busiest worker in the restaurant since it seems like everyone was in line for steaks! Very good for a buffet steak! All the other food kind was not tasteful or special in anyway. Service was alright. The waitresses were so busy and forgot to refill our drinks. We had to flag her down and ask to refill our cups multiple times. Overall, Golden Corral is a good restaurant if you want to get stuffed for a cheap price! We went to the restaurant at 735 PM Sunday evening. Sign says they're open till 8, but all the doors were locked, and nobody responded when I knocked. If you're open till 8, don't close at 730, pretty simple. There were several cars in the parking lot, and we could see people eating, but we wound up at another place. Oh, the sign also says they're closed Mon and Tue (doesn't align with their website), and even though I've called a few times during hours when they are open, nobody answers the phone, so you also can't do a takeout order. read more

The management does an awesome job as I've been in here right at closing, and before they even let the staff eat or they begin to close down the buffet they always wait until we have been finished.
