    The Plate--06-28-2024

Elite dining services and customer service! There was so much meat coming to the table, I had to push back from the table at one point and turn my coin to the red side. The restaurant was very elegant and was running like a well oiled machine. The visuals of the food being cooked behind a glass, where you can watch the meats being scorched by fire. The salad/soup/veggie option was LITT! When I tell you, I could have just had the salad bar, soup, and veggie option, I would have said YES immediately! I ate more of that than the meats!! If you're a meat person, this is your go to!! If not, that salad bar with fill your belly with goodness and it'll be NITE NITE time! Pricey but worth it!!!

We made a reservation, put that we were celebrating our anniversary, and as soon as the host pulled up our reservation she told us happy anniversary, and led us to our table. Our waitress was very good, attentive, kept our drinks full, and asked what meats we were looking for. She made sure to give recommendations and sent the meat servers our way when we ready. It was a beautiful salad bar, and decor. You can tell they put A lot of effort into keeping everything stocked and clean. We went right at 2 on a Saturday so it wasn't super busy. The steaks (in my personal opinion) weren't anything special but the chicken was amazing and so were the soups. It was definitely an experience!

All you get is a picture of a salad, that's the only thing that lasted long enough to snap a quick pic....because: Once you get into the flow of the Gaucho meat delivery people, the service, and the serve yourself portions...this magical thing happens...you forget about your phone, work problems, a stain on your shirt...it's almost like a Brazilian Theme Park. You're not stressed; you can talk and laugh at your table, you can smile, and the rest of life seems like it's miles away. The ambiance is not stuffy formal but you do feel like you're having a unique intimate experience. There wasn't single piece of meat that was cooked differently than I would have wanted. The Sides are amazingly delicious...a distraction...but in a good way. You can see all the bustle of the cooks behind glass, an open pit and flames; there is no chance of a trick here...it's pure showmanship. You don't "wait" on anything and it's as close as you can get to "flame to fork" without burning your mouth. The flavors are something different for anyone...the open pit cooking gives the meat an expected and celebrated real flame flavor. Some of us might not remember that flavor after years of eating reheated, steamed, Sous-Vide'd and production-oven cooked take-away food during the Quarantine years. It's not overly smoky or overwhelming but it's probably my fave part...Food that gets its flavor from the quality ingredients and style of how it's cooked. Service is top notch. You get this family vibe that everyone is as committed to your experience as the next. We've only done the reservation thing; as we planned it prior to an event at the CHI, so I can't say what a walk in experience is like. So few places do reservations; and the website was easy (or OpenTable)...maybe just make a reservation on the way? Special Occasion, Special Person, Visiting from out of town? No wrong reason to go. #MeatTornado

It was an experience, not just dinner out! Take your time to relax and enjoy every bite. It's one price and you go for it! Drinks are separate. Didn't have dessert but it's separate too. The salad bar is big and so many choices not like any other salad bar. I had sausage, chicken wrapped in bacon and sirloin. Saw ribs but didn't come by us before I was full. All the meats were flavorful and well prepared! Our waitress was awesome. She took time to tell us how it works and answered our questions, she checked back with us to make sure we were ok. The restaurant is beautiful; from candles to lighting and flowers to decor. All workers were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go again.

Service and ambiance was amazing, everybody was so friendly answering any questions we had! The mashed potatoes and the salad bar were the star of the show for me! The salad bar had so many different options, my favorite meat was the chicken and sausage. While the other meat was still good my issue was that it was very salty, it made it hard to fully enjoy.

This was my first visit to this Brazilian eatery. I have been to several others in the Midwest and West Coast but waited for an appropriate time to make a reservation to dine here. We were seated quickly, but things started slow after that. It took longer than usual for us to get drinks. The variety of meats being served seemed very limited. The salad bar wasn't what I expected. The items they had very limiting items compared to other Brazialian steakhouses. Even the hot food wasn't very hot, a common complaint I read from previous Yelp reviews here. Our server took too long to bring the check, and it wasn't busy tonight. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The good news was that the meat selections came out hot and well marinated. I will probably pass on a return visit at this location.

It was... fine. Not really a sentiment you want to be left with several weeks after a very expensive meal. Maybe I should say it was good. It was okay? The service was very good. But the food was... good? I just wasn't as excited about all of this as I thought I'd be from my recollection of similar concepts. Definitely fills a gap in the dining scene here but some of the logistics were odd (not letting kids under 10 take home their picked-over plates). The lack of waiting area despite the fact that they won't seat you until your whole party is there. The space lit as brightly as the neighborhood Walmart. And generally a dining crew who looked to have just arrived from shopping at the same. I realize that last comment makes me sound like the biggest snob in the world and I love to be casual but had dressed myself up a BIT to come here and felt like I was overdressed in a budget buffet... just calling it based on my personal feelings. Shrug.

We loved dining here with our little one on a recent holiday. Fun for the whole family! The plantains they bring to the table are delicious, loved the meat and salad bar as well. Great way for littles to try a lot of things!

Ask the Community - Texas de Brazil - Omaha

Are there free refills with the Brazilian Limeades? Other Brazilian Churrascaria restaurants that I've been to across the country offer free refills on those.

Hi Zach, thanks for reaching out! While we do not offer free re-fills for any of our beverages, apart from house water, we do offer our Brazilian limeade in a pitcher format so you can enjoy more for a discounted price!

Is dessert included in the price of the meal? What about the sides like potatoes and plantains?

Thanks for reaching out! While our dessert is not included in the all you can eat price, our delicious hot table items are!

They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

I will say the Caesar salad with chicken I ordered was probably the best Caesar I've ever had (and I'm a big Caesar fan, so it has to be just right). The mahi mahi tacos were so delicious, the sauce, the flakiness everything about them were devoured. Lastly loved their happy hour options, were tried the calamari and hush puppies(the sauce with these were sooo good and spicy!) The whole place had a welcoming vibe, and made you feel like you were stepping somewhere on the coast side! Which is nice for the Midwest haha. Well done plank provisions!

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

This fit the bill so we walked over around 5pm one evening for an early dinner after spending the day exploring the zoo. When we arrived the place was pretty empty - think maybe two tables occupied, and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We did not, and honestly she seemed a bit put out for a bit. I kind of wondered if we were going to be able to eat in this empty restaurant, but alas she decided it was okay and we were seated. This is one of my pet peeves at restaurants. I know, I know, that there could have been a ton of business booked for later, but it's such a bad look to make such a big deal about reservations when the place is empty. Also - while it did start to fill it was by no means full by the time we left. At any rate, things perked up at that point and we all got seated, ordered drinks, food etc. and had a good time. The server was kind and thoughtful and the food was pretty tasty. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my husband as the entrees are a good size here. My six year old had the kids hamburger, though we did have a bit of a scare when the server said "your cheeseburger will be out soon!" we had a long wait on the kids meal and when she said cheeseburger I immediately said - "no cheese!" the menu item was described as a "hamburger" with no mention of cheese and our kid doesn't like cheese her burgers so that was a really close call. I sort of got the impression that server wasn't accustomed to kids, but when the burger came out it was right and even though she had to wait, my kiddo gave it two thumbs up. Overall this is a good pub style restaurant in Old Town. Nothing really to write home about, but they do have decent food and local beers which was all we really cared about after a long day at the zoo.

They do offer patio seating, and while it is right next to the parking lot, it is still nice to be outside. Overall, a solid brunch option, but a bit overpriced for what you get.

My husband and I came here for a Friday night date and had such a great experience! We were able to…read moresnag a last-minute reservation, which was a nice surprise. This place really stands out. There's nothing else quite like it in the area, and we love how unique it feels with different dining areas. The service is consistently excellent, and the food quality never disappoints. We started with the salad bar and complimentary bread, which had a great variety of toppings and dressings to choose from. For my entrée, I ordered the steak kabobs, served over rice with mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day (glazed carrots). My husband went with the 8oz filet, baked potato, and glazed carrots. We both loved our meals. The steak was definitely the highlight and cooked perfectly. The only small note was the carrots, they were a bit too sweet for our taste that night. But honestly, we came for the steak, and it absolutely delivered. We finished with the chocolate cake for dessert, and WOW. It was a huge slice and so delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Always love the ambience and romantic, low lit vibe of Brother Sebastian's! Perfect spot for a date…read morenight/special occasion. We went recently for our 19th wedding anniversary and upon walking in were greeted with a warm welcome and happy anniversary so that was nice. I did reserve a table in a certain room and when we got there they said all the tables were taken in that room so not sure what happened there, that was disappointing. Service was great....food was amazing - you have to try the prime rib it melts in your mouth along with the baked potato! Our meal came with a huge salad bar and we had the lemon cake for dessert / super yummy. Overall, can't go wrong with Brother Sebastian's!
