September 2nd 2024 3:00pm. Went today expecting the wonderful food . Was so disappointed on so many levels from the start. Entered and took our place in line, no one at the register. Had to get the to go cups as nothing else was available. No sweet tea available and all soda was inop except for two or three. Found a table which wasn't difficult. However when going up to get food, there was very little! No shrimp,no steak,no ham etc. choice was chicken or a hamburger. No crouton's and the salad bar looked old. Very disappointed and will never go back. Note we were not the only ones saying this. read more

Night and Day between this Golden Corral and the one in Fayetteville. You would think they were different restaurant chains. I loved the one in Fayetteville and was surprised that the prices were so different, and the quality of food here was miserable compared to the Fayetteville Golden Corral. I'm not sure why this location has such low ratings but my experience was excellent. The food was great and the service was outstanding. I went there expecting the worst and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Everything I ate was delicious. I had the fried chicken, shrimp and fish and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. I also made not one, but two trips to the salad bar and it was stellar. Everything was fresh and they had almost anything you could want on your salad. I ended my meal with banana pudding and it was scrumptious. I give the service 5 stars. Me and my parents had Arnold Palmers to drink and we never had to ask for refills and our server made sure we had plenty of plates and that the used plates were removed from the table without us having to ask them to do so. The best part was that we got in for the early bird special by getting there by 4pm so that was a bonus. I can't recommend this Golden Corral highly enough. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'm going to make it my business to try the steak which I hear can be cooked to order. read more

Poor patronage as lot is empty. High prices. Meat patty warmer trays looked awful. How long has bacteria been in there? Needs new manage.

COVID has been rough on lots of restaurants so I was surprised that this buffet was even open. Masks were not required but everyone is required to were a latex/plastic glove while serving themselves at the buffet. Buffet food is often a hit or miss affair so I was pleasantly surprised that almost everything I chose was a hit! Our server brought clean plates and took away dirty ones fairly regularly and she was super about keeping my grandkids (10 & 12) supplied with fresh drinks. When I asked the cashier about buying an entire carrot cake, she said she would check it out and get back to me and she did! I went home with a special yummy surprise for a birthday. If you want gourmet food, find a better place, but if you're hungry and want lots of choices - Golden Corral is the place you want. read more

This review is for the Saturday buffet breakfast. The food was good with a nice variety of breakfast items. I am guessing that the management was trying to save on employee costs, and that is why I am giving the low rating. Steak had been cooked and was at the grill, but there was no one to serve it. While the price is good and overall the service is good, our visit was ruined when the music in the restaurant switched to a country song that repeated the "h" word several times. If it wasn't for that, the restaurant would have easily gotten a 4 star review. read more

Pretty standard as far as Golden Corrals go. Excellent sweet tea, but that's pretty par for the course in the south (from what I can tell). Buffet options seemed a little meat heavy, but I've come to expect that from buffets in general. This place has a friendly and attentive staff. The only noteworthy aspect of this place is the bizarre "handle" they have that lets you exit the men's restroom using your forearm instead of your hand. I guess they cater to germophobes? My father likes to meet here for dinner when I bring the children, so I've been here three times now, and previously I just couldn't feel much joyful anticipation for most of the offerings. I don't eat pork or shellfish, so my entree choices are slimmer already. Tonight was significantly better, with someone on the grill who really knew how to grill a nice, thick steak, and spinach artichoke dip got my attention as a surprise on the appetizer bar. There were actually a few things I had never seen before here on the appetizer bar, like crab Rangoon that was actually tasty and not too dried out from over frying. Our server kept a good eye on our table. Pleasant greetings from staff in several work areas also made this visit much more pleasant. The salad and entree bars were actually stocked well, so whoever was managing tonight was keeping it rolling. Things were being wiped down and refreshed before my eyes! This place MUST have gotten a new manager. The veggies are important to me, and I always feel the overcooked, over boiled, over sugared and salted choices are probably plopped out of 10 pound cans, so it's challenging. I'm grateful for the salad bar. Sanitation score was posted as 96% today on 09/27/2013, which is as low as I ever care to go. From the looks of the place tonight, they are trying to improve. As long as I'm someone's guest, I can stand it here occasionally, but l would probably not choose it on my own. Incidentally, my father fondly refers to this chain as the "golden piggy trough." but I think he's busting less on the restaurant.and more on some of the super-sized patrons. ;-) read more

Service was worse than terrible, girls that worked there were eating and picking pineapples from the desert line eating and talking to their other co-workers in front of customers, waitress never brought any plates, guys cooking steak were acting like we bothered them when we asked for steak, workers were talking at the restaurant across from each other yelling from the Buffett line to the cash register asking "who's gonna give them a ride" than when I asked the guy at the desert bar if the hot fudge was empty because nothing was coming out he states "no it's full it's just not working" and walks away mean while workers were all congregating having side conversation like they were in the hallway of high school while ignoring customers. This was the first and last time we will be coming to this establishment! read more

First we were greeted by a girl with her mask down, asking if we had masks. Offered to me some for a dollar. I quickly looked around and noticed the chef with his down and several other customers not wearing one or having their down as well. So I simply said unless you're going to make everyone else wear one properly, you're discriminating against me personally. After telling the manager that I have a medical condition, that required me not to wear a mask, she then asked if I wanted a refund!? so wait, because I CANT restrict oxygen to my lungs, I am being asked if I want my money back - almost instantly after I paid over $75 for my family to eat this CRAPPY food! Worst selection of food I've ever seen at a GC. This place had brown lettuce, rotten veggies, and hardly any choices compared to most other golden corrals. Then our waitress follows me around to make sure I'm wearing my mask and also using gloves - no one else is wearing gloves - including the servers handing me our clean plates and drinks. Rules for the not for me?? I can understand if you want to be strict and enforce the mask mandates - that's your Choice as a manager running a business. BUT when it turns into selective policing, that's called discrimination. Period. I will never step foot in one of these ever again, just like any other business that treated us that way. Long story short I couldn't even eat my food - all you can eat!? After being harassed by the staff and the manager both who had their masks down until I made a big deal about it-, I couldnt eat a damn thing! This place deserves to be abandoned. you don't treat families that bring their hard earned money to eat your bottom of the barrel food. its A year AFTER the pandemic, and this is the only establishment that has ever made us feel uncomfortable for not wearing a mask- which is NOT a law by the way. Governors orders are not LAWS. Only legislators can create laws. So technically, this unconstitutional fear mongering where golden Corral thinks they have some type of health authority over their customer base is not only ridiculous but discriminatory. Smells really bad so bad I didn't want to eat and lost my appetite. The good is you get what you pay for

We won't be coming back here. I hadn't been to a Golden Corral in several years. The food was okay. They didn't have a lot of selection but it was slow. These are not the reasons we will not be back. We won't be back because we were in the bathroom and a couple of girls were in there (around age 12 or 13) doing their business and they walked out without washing hands. My kids saw that and we're grossed out. I know their kids but it's still a health hazard at a buffet. read more

This was our first time, and we were not disappointed! The food was good, and there was plenty of variety (both of my little siblings can be picky eaters), and my mother and I got to try some new dishes (broccoli salad and fried okra, both good). The dessert was delicious - the kids loved the chocolate fountain and the cotton candy. The employee that was clearing tables and filling drinks was incredibly polite and attentive despite being the only one clearing tables, and he was very nice to my little siblings. We decided to try this one since it was closer than the Skibo Rd Golden Corral. It was very nasty, food was cold, peas taste like water, food was hard and it was just a waste if money. It took us a while to find a clean table, tables in both sides were dirty. I will never visit this place again. The waitress was nice though. read more

Although smaller, one of the better Golden Corral's I have been to. Friendly staff, outstanding fried chicken and okra.

First visit at this location was a huge disappointment. Not many selections were filled the food looked old and not tasteful at all for the price we could have gone to a better restaurant we won't be going back better food at cracker barrel down the road read more

We asked for a pizza for the children, given there was only 1 slice left on the bar. They made one and served it. The pizza was raw and my son had a mouth full of dough. The food was horrible and they did not even correct the problem! The waiter only apologized and set the pizza to the side and continued wiping gunk from the walls!! The worst place to eat in Sanford. The atmosphere is marginal at best. The buffet selection sucks. I was there at 5pm and there was one slice of cheese pizza. The restaurant was not busy. They had no bread or rolls available. There was hardly anything edible to choose from. The soft serve ice cream even failed the kid test. You could get a better meal at McDonalds, Burger King, Chik-fil-A, or Hardees. read more
