We came here last Sunday right after 2 pm. Parking was easy to find in the free parking lot. This location is busy, very busy. When we came here the line was long, and there were two cashiers charging people before they were seated, but this process took way too long. It took us about 15 minutes to get through the pay line, but, like I said, there were two cashiers. Slow! If you've never been to a Golden Corral Buffet, customers pay first as they enter, sit at a table, and get plates fro their server and go to the buffet line and serve themselves all the food they care to eat. Customers are not allowed to take home any food. After paying, we were seated immediately, but it took about 5 minutes before we even got plates so that we could get food at the buffet. It seemed like no servers wanted to come to our table. After complaining to any server who would listen to us asking who our server was, two different servers brought us stacks of plates. I was very surprised that most of the customers actually put gloves on their hands like they are supposed to, adults and children alike, and they were orderly. Everyone stood in lines and waited their turns. There were some types of food that seemed to be more popular (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, shrimp), but do you think that the employees anticipated when they needed to replenish them? Nope. So people waited in line, which, finally, employees took as their queue to put more food out on the buffet. The actions of some of the customers really shocked me. Why, at a buffet, would anyone grab a couple of plates and just pile as much food as they can on both plates? And not eat all of the food they dished up. And then go back for more. Disappointing. The food was generally good and tasty. The fried chicken was crispy, and the meat was moist. The pot roast was delicious. I didn't care for the popcorn shrimp; the breading was cooked too long and the outer coating was hard. The ribs had too much fat on them, but the overall flavor was good. The steaks were seasoned/marinated well and were flavorful, but had too much gristle. I loved their salad area. The quality of their different types of lettuce, spinach, and the variety and freshness of everything else that they provided that could be put into or on salads was remarkable. I thought of the now-defunct Sweet Tomatoes, and the prices for their mostly salad items were more expensive than what people pay at Golden Corral. Maybe that's why the Sweet Tomatoes/Soup Plantation chain no longer exists. After the initial issue with us not getting any plates, there weren't any problems. Our server checked in with us every so often, took away our dirty plates, refilled our drinks, and did a nice job making sure we had everything else that we needed. I did feel that there weren't enough servers, who also had the responsibility to bus tables and sweep the floor, not an easy thing to do with a lot of customers at this location and lots of turnover. Except for the jello, I didn't really care for any of their desserts because most of them were just downright too sweet. Yes, I would return, but not on a Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The food was good here. And no one grossed me out by bringing their used plate back to the buffet line to reload their plate.

We give this restaurant three stars. The place was packed but the three stars are for the quality of the food. Everything tasted like it was NOT fresh and the serving area was messy. Will not go to this location again!

Stopped here as part of my secret shopper job for dinner. It's fun to do sometimes for the folks @ corporate in Raleigh, North Carolina. I'll be sending in my packet this week about my trip here. Overall the place was pretty clean and the food was ok. The servers were super nice but the manager was a different story. Imo she's on a power trip and really needs a lesson on customer service. Parking here is extremely easy as well as it's minutes off the highway.

I think the reason I was so impressed with this GC was because it was so new. The atmosphere was so open, and light and bright. The decor was amazing with nicely painted walls. The food was awesome. There were lots of variety of meats, veggies, and salads. So much to choose from that my stomach could not handle it all. I look forward to going back.

Since I live not too far from here, I have been aware for a while now that GC is coming this side of town. I was quite intrigued at the idea of having this joint quite close to home ... However, when we finally visited this past weekend, I was quickly disappointed. FOOD: * Over-salted - I would say a good 80% of everything that I tried was a major salt bomb. My usual go-to of Roast Beef, Fried catfish and clam chowder were all inedible. I mean, dude? Did GC just recently buy stocks for Salt? Is one of your cooks crying on the food back there? Or did you all hire a salt-fairy? I mean, Roast Beef became Salted Beef, Fried catfish became Salted Fish, Clam Chowder was just Salt Chowder ... you get my drift? So please ... put the salt in a vault and allow only high-clearance personnel to access it cuz I do believe that your people got a salt dependency! Stop the madness!!! (so I guess, this is where I stop beating the dead horse?) Moving along ... The stuffing had the consistency of mashed potatoes, and the mashed potatoes had the consistency of paper mache. Boiled cabbage needed more time to cook, burgers were burnt ... sigh* I can go on some more, but I cant relive the heartache. Now, in all fairness, the 20% that was edible on my plate were actually on point. I enjoyed the broccoli and cheese soup, their original yeast bread, fried chicken, and fresh fruits. AMBIANCE: * Overcrowded - the tables are so close to each other that you dont really have any room to move about. I am not a fan of this lay out at all - it seems so cramped? The plates, silverware, tables all looked worn out already - how the heck did they manage to that? I mean, didn't this place JUST opened? Now, given that GC will always and forever have mangy kids running amok causing mayhem and pandemonium (hehe, cant you tell I dont wanna have kids yet?) ... but seriously, the place was a bit more messy than usual. WIN: * For the win - the salad bar and fresh fruit. IRKS: * Drinks are self-serve from the front (initially), and water can only be given to you at the table by your server. (I see your devilish marketing/up-selling ploy, Golden Corral - tsk tsk tsk) * Why does the carpet look run-down already? * Why are the plates/tables/silverware all worn out so early in the game? How cheap are these kitchenware? * SALT ... is the name of this secret agent that Angelina Jolie played ... It has NO business loitering on my pot roast and other food stuffs. Now, with all that being said .... I will always have love for GC, so I truly wish it will get better. I understand that the cooks (and maybe just the whole place, really) may just need more time to adjust (the ever-hounding "learning curve", right?) So! As turned off as I was during my first visit, I MAY come back ... and that's a VERY strong MAYBE. I'm going to wait for what my fellow yelpers has to say, and then I MAY revisit the idea of coming back to this location. Until then, I will continue my patronage to the Alpharetta location.

Golden Corral is pretty underrated to me. I feel that there are so many Asian buffets but not that many American buffets. For me, what they offer is good enough for me. I mainly come for the fried livers cause I cannot get them anywhere else. The service was fast and attentive here. Well, my waiter was phenomenal!! I tipped him 50%. He is too awesome. I never had to ask him to refill my water and as soon as he saw it halfway, he came by. He is on top of his game! 123/2019

I don't have much to say about Golden Corral except it's hot or miss. This GC is new and really nice on the outside. I hoped for a lot more on the inside. The arrangement for entering the restaurant and paying for food is less than ideal. The restaurant was small and for whatever reason it didn't have as much variety as I'd expected and have seen in other GC. I'll go back bc I like GC but only if I'm in the area and it's the closest location.

RC had approached her with a flier at a gas station, informing her that his restaurant had just opened up. Anyway, I'm ordering my meal, the same meal I always get each time I go. I was probably gonna go with sweet tea. ) He lists sweet tea of course, and then hes like, "Kool-Aid, coke, sprite" - IM LIKE WAIT. DID YOU SAID KOOL-AID?......... He's like, "Yeah??..." Im like, "what flavor???.... "Purple?...." I had never heard of that at a restaurant, and quiet frankly, that's all I needed to know. At this point, I literally go nowhere else for soul food. Also, RC is amazing. Really good guy, and his team offer the best service as well. A job well done, always.

If you're in Marietta and craving some truly divine soul food, you have to stop by The Manna House…read more I ordered the catfish with mac 'n cheese, collard greens, and cornbread, and let me just say, this meal was worth every extra minute it took to get off I-75. Let's start with the catfish: perfectly crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside, and seasoned like somebody's grandma whispered the recipe in the chef's ear. Honestly, it was so good I almost asked for another plate just in case I missed something the first time. This is a 10/10, no notes kind of dish. Now, the collard greens? Whew! These greens deserve their own standing ovation. They were hands-down the best I've ever had--an 11/10, slap-yo-mama, text-everyone-you-know level of good. Perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of smokiness, and with a flavor that'll make you question every other batch of collards you've ever eaten. The mac 'n cheese was solid--cheesy and definitely satisfying. The cornbread? Sweet, moist, and the perfect sidekick to all the rich flavors on the plate. Everything was served hot and fresh, and the service was as warm as the food. The only catch (besides that incredible catfish)? It's a bit of a drive from the highway, so plan accordingly if you're popping in for lunch. But trust me, The Manna House is worth every minute of the detour. Just go ahead and clear your schedule--you'll want to savor every bite.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.

The food was excellent, the drinks were on point, and our waitress did an awesome job handling such a large party. She stayed on top of everything and made sure we were taken care of all night. After dinner, we decided to check out the speakeasy through the freezer door--Eleanor's--and unfortunately, that's where the experience took a turn. The atmosphere itself was nice--semi-dark with a cool concept--but it could definitely lean more into a darker, more immersive speakeasy vibe. The bigger issue, though, was the service. It was night and day compared to upstairs. The waitress came across as rude and unwelcoming from the start. A few of us sat down in a small corner area with an L-shaped bench and some extra chairs we had to pull over ourselves. Obviously, with 12 people, there was no way we were all fitting there, yet she insisted she wouldn't take any drink orders until everyone was seated. That made no sense, especially since there was standing room and even a bar-height table available. To make matters worse, there was zero acknowledgment of the birthday--not even a simple "happy birthday," which felt like a missed opportunity given the occasion. When we asked about Fireball shots, the response was a blunt "um, no," followed by "you can have water," as she started filling glasses. That pretty much summed up the vibe we got. Not sure if this is typical service down there or just an off night, but it was enough to make us decide we wouldn't come back to the speakeasy. Bottom line: If you're in the area, definitely check out Muss & Turner's for dinner--it's worth it. But I'd skip Eleanor's and save your time and money.
