Horrible. The food came 2:40 minutes after we ordered, was cold and gross. When I called to complain they just put me on hold forever.

Food was ok, pretty much standard. Took over 2 hours to deliver though which was pretty outrageous.

A…read morelong time ago, in my mid to late 20s era, we would order seafood boil for Father's Day so this was very nostalgic for me. I've seen the sign for Sea Shack from Route 59 and finally got to try it when my sister was visiting Naperville. I called in an order and it was ready in 15 minutes. What we ordered for 3 adults: 1 lb peeled shrimp, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb black mussels, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb clams, mild 1 corn on the side 1 sausage on the side onion rings chicken tenders and fries 2 orders of rice We had plenty of food and enough for leftovers. My favorite part might be the cajun butter sauce with white rice... even more than the seafood. I love white rice with basically any sauce. The food was fresh, the sauce was mild as requested, still flavorful and not too salty. If you order the clams on its own, no sides, the bag might seem a little small but that's just because the clam meat is so small. For takeout, your seafood will come double bagged so it was leak proof. We decided to empty the bags into bowls since we were doing family style, and it was a hearty meal. I can't comment on the ambiance since it was a takeout order, but we enjoyed our food. We'll be back!

I had some of their cajun pasta and calamari, both were quite small serving sizes for their price. What put me off was adding shrimp to the pasta for 5.99 only to be given exactly five pieces of shrimp. The pasta had nothing cajun about it and served on a big plate to look bigger than it is, far too big for the small table! The pasta itself was nice, however it tasted like grocery store jar alfredo sauce. And the restaurant had far too loud music for so little people there, couldn't even talk properly to the server or family despite sitting so close on a tiny table. Would not recommend

The table salsas are thick, mildly spicy & super good. The table chips were thin, fresh and crunchy. The cantarito was dressed great & tasted even better. The enchiladas de queso were well prepared l, not at all greasy & awesome! The queso fundido con chorizo was very good. The first time I've had it with queso Oaxaca. Although I personally am used to chihuahua cheese it was a nice twist to the appetizer. The ambiance is comfortable & the tables are far apart enough to enjoy the company of friends/family. The decor is also in good taste. This place (building) was originally Lalo's back in the day then Bucho's, Perla Negra y now Cocina 53. Out of all other owners this is by far the best! Yes...Lalo's was good in its time but Cocina 53 has a unique flare. On both visits I had Cristina as a server. She is friendly, kind, attentive, fast & you can tell she is naturally a hospitable person. It's hard to come by those key qualities especially in today's service era. Ask for Cristina as your server & please, please...tip well! This is their livelihood & they work hard to provide A+ service. To the owner of Cocina 53...thank you for this awesome place in Bolingbrook & Cristina deserves a raise!! She makes you shine above & beyond.

This place is clean, well organized and have plenty of parking. Food quality if excellent. Portion size is good and the pricing is competitive. I would highly recommend their shrimp dinner, you can chose own sauce they can cook it in. Service was excellent and very courteous. The best part was the food did not take too long to come. I have received subpar service at 5 star restaurants, but here the service was splendid. Overall I would highly recommend them.

It did start to pick up around 8 PM, but by then we were wrapping up. If you've ever been here on a weekend, you already know...it gets crowded fast. So weekday evenings are definitely the move if you want a more relaxed experience. One thing I did notice is that the menu feels more condensed compared to pre-COVID days. The quality is still there, but some of the little details have changed. For example, the fried alligator now comes with a hot honey sauce instead of the original sauce...and I'm not sure why that changed. I get that restaurants have had to adjust over time, but I do wish they'd bring some of those original touches back. Also, don't be surprised if a few of your old favorites are gone or slightly different. Customer service has always been consistent for me...friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The atmosphere is more on the intimate side, nothing overly flashy, just a comfortable place to enjoy a good meal. Parking is pretty reasonable and the lot is spacious, but when it's busy, you'll definitely feel it. There were three of us, and we ordered the fondue, fried alligator, fried shrimp, three-piece stuffed crab, and blackened salmon with red beans and rice, plus a drink. After tax and tip, the bill came out to around $150-$160, which felt fair for what we ordered. Overall, this is still one of my go-to spots and I'll definitely be back. I just hope they consider bringing back some of the original menu items...or at least that original alligator sauce!

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

I'm not…read moresurprised he picked this restaurant because they have an extensive bourbon list, not to mention good food. We had Amanda as our server this time. She was fantastic! So personable, friendly and was very attentive. We began with cocktails, a Blanton's old-fashioned for him and a purple haze for me. Our server Amanda made the magic happen with my bubbly vodka cocktail at our table. Barrel & Vine makes great specialty cocktails. Hubby and I shared everything he ordered. The first thing we had was the imported burrata in a marinara sauce with rustic crostini. Creamy goodness. Yum! I loved that there were four large slices of grilled bread, perfect ratio of cheese to bread. I don't like when there's not enough bread for the amount of cheese on the plate. We then had the Tijuana's Best salad, which was their caesar salad. It's a typical caesar yet the best I've had. Not overly dressed. Hubby ordered an EH Taylor single barrel bourbon for the main event, a 32oz tomahawk steak with truffle fries and roasted brussels sprouts. The Fred Flintstone sized steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to rare and came with four sauces on the side. We were able to choose our sides from the accompaniments on the menu. The ribeye was very tasty, however, there was grizzle in the piece that I cut for myself that I couldn't chew. Side note: I think it would be a nice touch if the restaurant sliced the meat and laid it next to the bone as presented at other restaurants. Both the brussels sprouts and truffle fries were good, but the fries were lacking the truffle taste. Needless to say, we couldn't possibly eat the whole 32oz ribeye so we brought leftovers home to enjoy again. The finale of our meal was a complimentary birthday dessert that Amanda chose - her favorite, a salty toffee skillet cookie. Amazing! It was a warm and gooey perfect ending to our dining experience. Barrel & Vine has two restaurant locations, Lemont and Plainfield. I highly recommend trying either.
