Fire everyone who works here. My parents had a ceremony for my stepbrother and had arrangements for his whole ceremony. Apparently they botched the slide show music and the music was skipping and ended too soon, organizing the ceremony was a nightmare , they were forgetting details and mixing up instructions. They didn't even know if they have cremated my stepbrother until a deep search. It was an ordeal to say the least. Please don't use this place until they get better reviews. This was the worst funeral experience I have ever been through. My husband was buried in July 20 24. Golden Gate did the wake in the viewing and it was horrible. They also did the funeral which was also horrible. Worst part was they lost his shoes they lost his things and their answer to me was oh it got stolen when they took his body from the Dallas office to the Fort Worth office. That's all they could say to me. We viewed him his makeup was dark, dark dark his Face looked really bad. They had to take it all off and redo it. I had to make everybody wait to go to view him. The funeral, there were things done that I did not pay for I didn't approve of. They couldn't get the music correctly. They had people stomping down the aisle's and that was not something I approved of. It was the worst experience. I was given a list of funeral homes that do cremation by the hospital and called 10 places. I only went with this home because they offered the cheapest price. Now- i didnt check any reviews or yelp until i checked in and i was curious how my experience would go based on the reviews. First thoughts were it seemed very disorganized with people walking all around like they had no idea what was going on. The layout of the waiting area is odd with lots of single chairs- who goes to funeral homes alone? Also- everyone just looked confused. We had a 3:30 appt that we arrived a few minutes early for and then sat in the lobby for about 20-30 min before we were taken back. Honestly based on that and the reviews i probably wouldnt do ant sort of service with them, but since we were doing cremation only it wasnt the end of the world. I asked to be present so my brother wouldn't be alone when it happened. I was taken to a back room to view him and he was in horrible condition. his shoes were gone , a sock halfway off, clothes wasn't as it appeared at viewing it was just as if someone got his body and threw it in a CARDBOARD box, yes that's correct he was placed in a cardboard box that didnt even appear like a new box it was bent, folded and even torn at the corner. Imagine losing your sibling and in what is already a hard moment you see him in a box like a piece of trash - no respect for the body. There was a door that separated the room from where the body's are cremated. I could hear the staff laughing and joking around. Yes it's a normal work day for them but for me it was one of the worst days of my life and to hear them laughing and cracking jokes was hurtful and felt very inappropriate. You do the following up to find out what the next steps are in the process of laying a loved one to rest. I asked what the hold up was and they said they're waiting on a cremation permit from the Collin County Medical Examiner. Not happy at all with the services received from Golden Gate in Dallas, very unprofessional. It's hard enough dealing with the loss of a child, it's even hard when you have people who can't get their stuff together. Very unorganized. I was told paperwork was sent to the doctors office for the death certificate. I called back daily to find out the status, only to be told they were still waiting on the doctor after weeks, I called the doctors office myself only to find out they send the form the day before. Once it was returned to Golden Gate I was told I had to wait an additional 10 days. Received multiple calls request paperwork, that had already been sent, but they didn't check their other email account. Just days short of 30 days. They finally called saying they had all their paperwork in order and are able to perform the cremation, but leaving the house to pick up the ashes, received a calling saying come tomorrow. My frustration level is over the moon. In this type of profession you would think, people could be better prepared, with more understanding instead of just using words about how "they are sorry for loss of your loved one" and has some compassion with goes with that understanding. Very disappointed. I made sure to let everyone in my family know, not to take me there if and when anything should happen to me. read more

I do not know where to start! I was already and still traumatized by the loss of my father. We waited forever just for someone to come in and talk to us! On top of that they were unorganized and still kept trying to sell me a burial plan when his was already paid for! They couldn't find his paperwork even after I faxed and emailed it! I still had to deal with getting his paperwork to them again! Dealing with them messing up his obituary and coffin colors! When they did change the coffin out I had to view his body again and his hands were out of place from previously and instead of asking me to leave the room they moved his arms around to place his hands back where they were before, while I was standing there watching and this totally freaked me out! I could tell that his arms were broken I didn't need to know that! After all this the funeral was ok! But the cremation told another whole month I had to keep calling everyday re-living that moment over and over! That's not fair to put love ones through that sort of ordeal! And they had the nerve to tell me I could come and visit his body anytime! Why would I want to keep going through that again! Was very disappointed in the service received. Each time I had to discuss the arrangements, I had to talk with a different person. At one point due to printer not working, they asked me to come back the next day. How unprofessional!!! They rushed us out of the chapel at the conclusion of the services and there was no one from the funeral home there to assist us during the service. It was raining and they were asking us to leave as soon as possible. The next day someone called to let me know that we had left a plant as well as the "gift" bag that we were to have at the conclusion of the service - Another extra trip back to the funeral home. Well it doesn't end there. Getting the death certificates was another issue. When I picked up the death certificates, i was only supposed to have one pending and the other 4 that i paid for would be the final ones that would come later. They gave me 5 pending. Okay not so bad they said they would get them and not charge me. The medical examiner gave the final cause of death on December 14 but no one contacted me to let me know that death certificates were ready. It took from December 14 to January 24 and numerous phone calls to receive the death certificates and only because I had to send someone in to personally pick up the death certificates and that person over-nighted them to me. Very bad experience. I advise that anyone using them proceed with caution. read more

Horrific!!! We just left the funeral home and I am in total disbelief. We went there to view my sister's body before the official viewing. My initial reaction was, "are we in the right room? This person looks nothing like my sister". Everybody in the room had the same reaction. I stepped out and spoke with the Director. His response was, "unfortunately, I don't have anything to do with this function. I will speak with the mortician". We were told to give them about an hour and a half, and they will call us back for another viewing. We went back after about two hours. Cremation is paid for however this funeral home says 6 to 8 weeks before something would take place. I don't understand what the issue is my father passed away in Louisiana and the funeral home had his remains back to me within the same week. They called me the day of the cremation and kept in touch with me up until the day of picking up his death certificate. The way that this funeral home treats people is disrespectful to the family and the deceased. It is bad enough that the family is grieving and then to add a unpleasant experience from the funeral home that's supposed to specialize in grief and sympathy is appalling. Probably 1 of the worst funeral home experiences of my life. Nothing was ready other then the remains and that was even done correctly I won't elaborate. The prayer cards weren't done, the obituary wasn't done, and no one seemed to know what was going on with my request. Wasted at least two hours dealing with this stuff that should have been done days ago. Finally after requesting to speak to the owner Mr Beckwith whom I've known for many years finally these things were done after he directed his employees to take care of my needs now. My advice is if you have a choice please do not use this funeral home unless you absolutely have to.
