There are only a couple Chinese restaurant options in Sandy. Of them, I think Golden Key is my preference. The interior and decor is dated but clean. Service is pretty quick, they quoted 20 minutes for takeout after I called and it was ready a little before then. Portion sizes are fairly generous and prices are in line with expectations these days (~$14-17 for main dishes). On my most recent visit, I got the kung pao tofu and the meatless egg foo young. Both were warm, tasty, and flavorful. I would re-order both and there are some other things on the menu that I would like to try. read more

The chicken was just frozen popcorn chicken style that could be made from an air fryer. Very small portions. Do not I repeat do not order the pepper salted shrimp. It was $17.50 for the plate. I have only been to their Sandy location so if they have others that are better, this review doesn't apply to them. With that said, this was very disappointing. My mom had just gotten out of hospital and my aunt was taking care of her, both had dearly wanted Chinese food so I made a large order to go and took it out to them - it was awful. I love this place. Eat there pretty ofte . Everything you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant, but they seem to use better ingredients, and it is just better quality. I've for sure had better fried rice, but it is good. It is probably due to it tasting healthier. I've never suffered through an entree that was prepped ahead of time and simply reheated. Everything from the fried foods to the veggies are all made after you order. So far I've had the honey chicken, broccoli and shrimp, and green bean shrimp. Lunch (shrimp options too!) is under $7, and includes a heaping portion of pork fried rice, 2 crab puffs, AND soup. The flavors are phenomenal, veggies crisp, portions huge and I've never had anything greasy or overlooked. Decided to go for Chinese on a cold and clear night for a special date. As soon as we stepped inside the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly face. She told us to sit anywhere. Since we were the only ones in the whole place, we chose a booth in the corner. Most of the other booths looked as if they had seen thier days. What's up with Chinese restaurants that use duct tape to tape up the holes in booth seats? I don't get it. Anyway, the place looked clean. Tables were set neatly and the floor looked vacuumed. Our server was fast and friendly. We made our order and it took about 3 minutes to receive our first course. Egg flower soup. Hot and fresh. In about 8 more minutes our main meal came. My hubby ordered the Kung pao tofu. He said he it was good but could use more spice. He likes it HOT. Tons of veggies and tofu filled his plate. A side of white rice came with the meal. It was enough for 2 people. I ordered the Lo mein chicken. It should of been called Oooooodles and Oooooodles of noodles. Pieces of chicken were lightly sautéd among the very limited pieces veggies. Again, it was a oodles of noodles plate and unfortunately.....the noodles were kinda dry. Not enough sauce or something. I couldn't finish it all, so I asked for a to-go box. I figured I could make my own sauce and spice it up for left overs the next day. No biggie. Our server was great. She kept a watchful eye on our water glasses making sure they would never go empty . Ordered take out from here during the "pandemic " The restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly, I ordered Kung Pow Chicken which was ready very quickly and the chicken had an excellent flavor, unfortunately the dish was mostly vegetables with a small amount of chicken. We can't understand how this restaurant has gotten so many favorable reviews. It is the worst Chinese food we've ever had. The hot and sour soup was inedible. The egg flower was no better. Our lunch entrees were hot and right out of the wok/fryer. The sub gum chow mein was flavorless and was mostly canned bean sprouts. The fried shrimp was thick with batter as was the sesame chicken. This place is a true Chinese food place. The interior is to be expected. Nice service and was waited on immediately. They were busy with take out but that did not slow down the service for us. Complimentary egg flour soup and it was yummy!! I shared the combination #10 and they allowed me to sub at no extra charge on one of the items. We also had two orders of pan fried pot stickers that were done perfect. The sauce that went along with them was very tasty. After the meal they brought out fortune cookies and also almond cookies. From the Chinese arm swinging cat to lots of red colored booths and table cloths, nothing in particular stood out. Quality of food: It was better than I what I expected. I have been a long time customer and have loved their food but we definitely got ripped off today. I placed an order only for $88.95, however was charged $92.95 at the restaurant. Then waiting 55 minutes for my order (despite arriving at my order ready time) only to be told that they ran out of pork fried rice. But don't worry they'll put notes in the system that they owe us. No - please refund my money. Which they do - but someone how its $2 less than what I was charged online. WTF!? How did it go from $11.50 to $9.50 and then overall an extra $4. While some may say that $6 isn't much- it feels like it to me. And how many other times have I placed orders and been charged more. They call me a good customer and then ripped me off.
