    Wonton soup

We have had our share of Chinese food this in my opinion is mediocre food. We had the dinner special which included wonton soup, fried egg rolls, fried shrimp and fried wontons and in my opinion everything fried is good. The wonton soup was not good at all. The wonton in the soup Felt very hard. It comes with either white rice or fried rice (didn't taste fresh) the fried rice was not good had no flavor. My husband ordered Kung pao 3 meats which had good taste. My plate was the chow mein and noodles were not soft. The tea was good. The ambience of the place was nice felt a bit old but I like that feel. Didn't have a bad smell. The female was busy she was the only one but was very friendly. With many options I'd like to say that it be my first and last time there.

Very courteous waitress and a pleasant smile, even 35 minutes before closing. Did not feel rushed at all and was always attentive to our refills. Food was well presented and flavors were spot on. It was close to closing so it was not busy at all, but you can see the place is kept up very well and very clean. Light Chinese music plays in the background, not distracting and very mellow feeling.

This is how good food was, perfect temperate that allows all the flavors blend together, no I didn't eat the chopstick, it fell down, service was amazing warming and welcoming, loved the relaxing music and setting, definitely my new fav, try their super mild mustard !!

I was driving up north and got hungry. I didn't want fast food and was really tasting for Chinese food and discovered this place. It was relatively close to the freeway and I was able to order on their app enroute. I chose the Tofu Eggplant lunch. It was very tasty and able to be eaten while driving. The Egg flower soup that came with the meal was awesome! That, you couldn't drink while driving but I consumed that in their ample parking lot. Can't wait to go back and try more on their menu.

Don't know what this is but is suppose to be won ton soup

THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS. Waited 15 mins to be Seated. And she messed Our food up .Charge extra for everything . How pathetic. If someone can't eat fried rice and needs white rice your going to up charge for them pathetic !!! Then I ask for sprite. Have none just coke and 7 up nope but that's ok . Service and all extra charge for everything pathetic. Soup was horrible something hard in it. Food sucks

I enjoyed it especially the small booth facing the large picture window facing the rear yard, which is nicely kept. Service was apex and intimate. I adored the traditional Chinese restaurant ambiance of the place it is ideal for an early dinner date. The food was good I wasn't especially impressed with the Phoenix & Dragon plate I ordered but that was my fault it stated it had a mild sauce, which was quickly remedied by their badass spicy mustard, let me tell you, your nose will run if you are liberal with it, and I love that. The combination fried rice was on point perhaps a little salty but I refrain from salt so my sensitivity to it is acute other my average Americans will likely enjoy it. They do not add MSG but there may be some in any purchased ingredients. I do not have a severe reaction to it but can sense it. Overall I like the place and will continue to search out the menu for bolder flavors for myself.

Shrimp and snow peas, wonton soup, fried rice and a fortune cookie! YUM!

My food was verh fresh and delicious. However they got my order wrong and i ended up with fried rice instead of steamed. My soup was wonnton and i i ordefed egg flower soup. The portions were generous and arrived nice and hot though.

I've heard about this place basically my whole life, and after my favorite Chinese restaurant, Pearl East, closed, I kept hearing people tell me, "Try New Ocean, they're the same owners." Well... I'm sorry, but there is absolutely no way this tasted like Pearl East. I ordered the orange chicken lunch combo. The food came out insanely fast. I literally went to wash my hands and came back and my food was already sitting there. It was hot, so I'll give them that, but the orange chicken and sauce just didn't taste fresh to me. The sauce was very runny and honestly tasted more like something I could grab from the frozen food section at the grocery store. Then came the bigger issue. I specifically asked what vegetables came in the rice because I did not want onions. I was told peas and carrots. My food came out with a LOT of onions. I was pretty grossed out because I had specifically asked beforehand. I told the server and, to his credit, he offered to let me leave without paying. I appreciated that. But when I reminded him that I had specifically asked about the onions, I was told it was the kitchen's fault. I understand mistakes happen, but I ordered based on the information I was given. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, and obviously everyone has different tastes, but after hearing so many people recommend this place, I honestly don't understand the hype. And as someone who absolutely loved Pearl East, I'm sorry but this was light years away from Pearl East for me. I wanted that old Pearl East flavor and unfortunately I just didn't find it here

The smell was so good that I drove around the strip mall parking lot trying to track down the source. That search led us to China Gourmet, a very unassuming restaurant tucked away in the shopping center. Once inside, you're transported into a charming mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant. The décor is simple, comfortable, and fitting for the space, creating a welcoming atmosphere. After looking through the menu, we decided on the Chef's Special Dinner. For our entrées, we chose the Chow Fun Noodles with Beef, Sizzling Black Pepper Beef, and Chicken Fried Rice. Appetizers included Egg Rolls, Deep-Fried Shrimp, and BBQ Ribs. The meal also came with a bowl of War Wonton Soup. Everything was freshly prepared and made to order. The ingredients tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and every dish was cooked properly. The standout item for us was the Chow Fun Noodles with Beef. The tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles made it the highlight of the meal. Everything paired nicely with a chilled glass of Hexamer Riesling. To top it all off, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, and all of our dishes arrived in a timely manner. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

That being said, we had a pleasant experience here. It's clean. It's bright from sunlight (not industrial lighting) inside. There are booths and tables so small or large party-flexible. Got a friendly greeting from the owner (maybe?). You pay when you go in, before you sit down, so there's no waiting for your check. If you'd like beer or wine (only wine by the bottle, but it's $16.10 a bottle - Copper Ridge), you buy that at the front, too. I had a Tsing Tao beer for $4.50. Self-serve tea in plastic mugs, which is just okay. It's a multi- row buffet with a lot of choices. We went for Friday night dinner, at 5:30. It had a few big tables of families and some small groups at the booths. I most enjoyed the salt and peppered pork, sesame balls, veggie spring rolls, and all the wok-cooked dishes with vegetables (like beef with broccoli and the wok-cooked green beans), which were perfectly cooked, fresh, and not too salty. The house special rib (a flat cut, not like a spare rib) was in a very exotic magenta sweet/spicy sauce and was worth a taste. There was a dish of fried salt and pepper in-shell shrimp, which I would have tried if I had felt like shelling shrimp. My partner said the steamed peel-and-eat shrimp were also very good. I was impressed with the fresh salad bar's cucumber slices, and fresh honeydew and cantaloupe, which all looked very nice. I would skip the noodles and the egg flower soup. Oh, and the soft-serve vanilla ice cream with sauces was very fun. There were many kinds of cookies that I wasn't familiar with that were fun to try: a vanilla wafer with cream cookie, and an almond cookie. The empty dishes were cleared quickly. It was a good value at $23(ish) per adult for dinner on the weekend. Different prices for lunch. We will be back!
