Soooo...Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach is apparently now their only venue (the location on Tank Farm…read moreroad in SLO changed a while back to "Petras"). We were sorry to see that location close down and extend our sympathies to Dallas (Owner) at having to close that location down (good help is so hard to find). Regardless, it won't keep us away from Brooks...cause the food is still "bangin". Yesterday's order was to go...we always ate "in" at the SLO location (just a "nicer ambiance") but always "take out" from Pismo (not thrilled with the fact that there is an added "take out fee" for this on your bill). Jaxon was our Order/Cashier associate on this occasion. He was personable in service and knowledgeable with regard to menu offerings. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I expected at 7PM but it took "a bit" to get the order out. Nevertheless..it was "on the money accurate" (exactly what we ordered/wanted) and that in my opinion...is worth waiting for. Our order : 2X Black and Blue Salads (4/5...yummy) and a Crispy Chicken Combo with Tater Tots (5/5...delicious). I had a "Combo Coupon" ($10 Combo instead of regular price), but still the bill was basically $43 dollars. Somewhat of a "value factor" because with a salad each, we were able to share the Crispy Chicken and were completely satisfied with our meal. Dallas (Owner) was already gone for the day, so we missed saying "hi". In this Yelper's opinion...on this "take-out" occasion because the food is still really "bussin", Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach truly earned this 4 Star review.

The food is too salty and oily. Vegetables looks wilted and limp from sitting in the sauce all day long. I've been here a few times, but think for an extra dollar or two, I can go somewhere else and get MUCH better food. Last time I was here, I found a catepillar that was cooked along with the broccoli I ordered...and instead of offering a refund, they said the only thing they can do is to offer me another plate of food. Too little too late...I had already lost my appetite. I guess that's what you get for going to a chain restaurant... disgusting food and poor customer service. read more

The new GM, Andre, was there, and he has a fantastic personality and manners. He made the visit personal and friendly. He was working with some of the younger staff to improve their service. Very nice lunch, and very clean premises. The GM was visiting with the customers, cleaning as he went. I thought that was setting a good example for the other staff....not just telling them what to do. Most of all, figure out how to clone the GM's friendly polite attitude, and smile! Whatever you do don't go here if using the Taste the Fortune BOGO plate. Waited in line a long time. Manager not there. The acting manager couldnt figure out coupon code and said oh well. One girl fixing her braid and applying lip gloss, two girls dressing one of the young men with a salty vest to go out to drive thru, another girl completely combing her fingers through another girl's hair to put it up in a clip. YOUR IN A KITCHEN FOR GOD SAKES. Finally they sent me to park because they were still sorting out my sandwich issue. WHERE IS THE MANAGER. These girls need to be trained better. There were a total of 5 employees in that area and just one focused on the job. I will be taking a break from them for a long while until they can get it together. At Jack in the box only one person is at the window and they get it all done without sending me parking.

But when I reminded him that I had specifically asked about the onions, I was told it was the kitchen's fault. I understand mistakes happen, but I ordered based on the information I was given. The Chow Mein was just okay, I love Pearl East Chow Mein 2nd would be Panda Express. The Orange Chicken was good, both items were warm at least it wasn't cold. Combo Express had an incident in the 90's and I had wondered what had happened after that, I googled it and read the same news as I remembered it. I guess if your in the mall and had a craving for Chinese this would help, but if your home and you need to order take out or delivery then go for your go to Chinese regular.
