Visited Memorial Day weekend 2011, with 4 kids under the age of 9. Had a blast. Initially worried about crowds on a Saturday when I saw the parking lot was full, but it was fine inside. Arcade: A little worn but has fun games. The air hockey was very popular. Snacks: Ice cream shake was great. Not world class but hit the spot and better than expected. Golf: Played the North course, kids had fun. Taking away a star for a few upkeep matters such as the crumbling cement walkway over the water on hole #16. Water slide: Fun, fun fun! Kids loved it. Mom and Dad watched from the grassy knoll under a sun umbrella. Lifeguards were very attentive and courteous. Saw them practicing lifesaving skills in a training class; they seem to take safety seriously. Staff overall: Courteous, no waiting for services, no problems. Will go again with the kids, and will keep it in mind for date night, too! read more

Emerald hills has a lot of fun things to do, including mini golf, the arcade room and water slides. I wouldn't recommend the water slides as they are made of concrete and it looked tought to be sliding down. Even though, the mini golf was really fun, I would recommend the North course better. The arcade room was the best part. It had lots of fun games including air hockey and such. I would recommend this to any one. Very fun!!! read more

My son's school enjoyed the day at Golfland. Even though it was pouring buckets it sure did not dampen anyone's spirits. The kids had unlimited golf and water slides. I think our day was extra fantastic due to Scott. He was wonderful. He was working in the snack shack. When we realized we did not bring plates or forks for our cake he kindly gave me all we needed. He could not have been nicer! We needed gates unlocked to load our cars and Scott was there to help. Even though the weather was not cooperative the employees were terrific. Especially Scott! Slides and golf are great. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the food counter needs improvement. It takes way too long to order and receive food. They have the cashiers making the orders they take. Suggestion cashiers take orders and food people make food. I finally gave up after waiting in line for 20 minutes to place order and I was the next person in line. read more

this golf land is honestly the least desirable in the south bay. its not that well kept, things are broken, its not the cleanest, the terrain is uneven and hilly, the ramps of some of the obstacles are way confused with the direction they are supposed to send my ball. BUT the water slides during the warmer weather makes for an awesome day to be a man at a mini golf course. plus, you still can have fun here especially if you need to kill some time before you catch a movie at the mall across the street. read more

Went golfing there for the night time golfing. I have been there during the day and thoroughly enjoy both courses. They are challenging and they add an interesting twist on mini golf however, I would not recommend golfing there at night. It is decently lit, but there are a couple holes that you need to shoot it through small opening and closing hatches and the shadows make it almost impossible to do so. Other than the night golfing, the prices are fair, they have an awesome, decent size arcade, and if it gets to hot during the day there are water slides to cool off on. I have been coming to this golf-land since I was a kid. Though the courses haven't changed much, they have been upkept, and updated very well. The waterslides are also a plus in the middle of a day. Their food bar is nice, and recently priced. However there are very few healthy choices at thier food bar, they offer Icees, popcorn, hot dogs, rootbeer floats, cotton candy, and candy bars. There food selections haven't changed much in 20 years. They are open late and the staff is very friendly. Its a good deal if you are a student and low on budget. read more

It smells funny here alot. When I play Capcom Vs. Snk 2 I don't play as well because the foul stench hinders my ability to link beautiful combos together. The fries there are delicious though, but they can make delicious fries and not fix the joysticks when they break so we can enjoy the goodness of fighting games? We have been going here for years but just did a birthday party for the first time, for my 9yo son. This place gets crowded so we did it early, from 12-2 on a Saturday. I bought a basic package which included golf, Round Table pizza, beverages and arcade for 10 kids. They assigned us a server who took care of us for the whole thing. He even cut the cake. Two hours was all the time we needed. The kids played golf for about 45 minutes. Then had pizza and cake. The last half hour was spent in the arcade using up their 50 tokens. Done! I got out of there for less than $200 and the kids had a good time. Beat the heck out of that overpriced, miserable, badly organized party at the fancy bowling alley. read more

I will probably come back, because my kid loves the golf and games, but damn, this place was particularly filthy on Sunday night 8/12...a serious layer of grit on everything, from the golf clubs to games to tables. Also disorganized...people wandering the course in reverse with no staff to correct them; waited fifteen minutes for a simple coke at the snack bar (the clerk was friendly, just understaffed). This Golfland in San Jose is a little rundown on the outside of the building and inside. However, if you are just going there to do mini golf than the course is well maintained. We had a great birthday party here today for my 8 year old son. I had never been before but they did a fantastic job looking after us and it was good value for money. Everyone had a great time and Jessica, who looked after us really helped make the day. She was really helpful and lovely :-) I even got to enjoy the party for a change instead of being the hostess! We felt safe using the slides and they were well monitored, the children who were less confident could wear a life jacket (and the life jackets weren't yucky old ones). The mini golf was very nice. The course was fine, the ball certainly rolls a ton so putt lightly. The facility was nice. It was annoying to navigate through a loud and dirty arcade in order to get to the golf. There also seemed to be a good amount of other things to do other than mini golf but we only tried the golf. Nothing too fascinating. The watersides are filthy and have enormous lines all the time!! The food is typical garbage with a very high price . We ordered the nachos and it was so greasy. The golf is fun, nothin too bad. But the worst is the service. Today when we went one of the machines weren't working so my cousin asked someone for help and he said he'd come but he never did even though I told him again. And my 7 year old cousin was playing a game and this idiot comes and yells at the poor boy saying to get off! It was almost racist. I live around there and I have never receievd quality service worth all the money I spend.There is always that attitude that makes you regret spending your money there. It's a place to go at the last resort and for fun golf but don't depend on anything else. read more

I think this is first time i have ever given a 1 star rating. I had planned my sons birthday. I had family members who are allergic to wheat. I specially asked before the party if they had gluten free pizza. they said yes but when we turned up that wasnt even an option. That was far from being the worst experience. The host didnt show up , had to follow up multiple times to get a host to our party. Then the pizzas came after the time scheduled, again multiple reminders, i had ordered a fruit platter. that came 30 mts after the guests had finished eating. Horrible service. The package I bought had arcade coins. The host completely forgot to give me. When all my guests had left she offered to give it. what use is it to us then? She at least offered to take it off the bill, then her supervisor came and said "well! its a part of the package, you have to take it". HORRIBLE place for parties. read more

My friend and I held a joint birthday party for our 8 year old sons this past weekend at Golfland (a two activity party) We were so happy with the party. Here are some things we really liked: 1) They were super flexible. We couldn't make up our mind about which activities to do (we needed up with waterslides and golf - great choices!). Golf land was so easy going about it and let us make up our mind day of. We also had a fluctuating amount of kids and they just charge you for the actual number of kids (but at least 10) on the day of the party. Also, our party ran over the time a bit but as there wasn't a birthday party immediately following us, there was no one kicking us out or making us feel time pressured. 2) Very reasonable cost and a great value - I have three kids under 10 and so I have thrown a number of birthday parties. I found the package really reasonably priced compared to other birthday parties we have held. Also - the value is great! Two activities plus arcade, food, extras for the birthday kids, all the soda, plates, napkins, cups we needed....there was so much! 3) Birthday host - we didn't realize we had a birthday host assigned to us for the majority of the party until we got there. Our host was DeAnna - and she was fabulous. I hope Golfland realizes how awesome she is - she was courteous, friendly, flexible, and anticipated all our needs. She was AMAZING! I came here yesterday with my sister and two nieces. We all enjoyed playing miniature golf. They have great deals going on. Monday nights after 5 pm is $4.99 per person. Children under 4 get to play for free. I didn't think golfing would be all that fun because I'm not great at it, but it turned out to be just as entertaining for me as it was for my nieces. I liked the fact that there were benches at ever single course, so if you're playing in a group and waiting for your turn, you don't have to stand around the whole time. I knocked off 2 stars because yes, there is a water slide but that's it. It literally is just a water slide that dumps you into a mini pool. You just slide and get out. Slide.. and get out. The water slides seem somewhat out of place being at a miniature golf course. It's like.. should our kids use the water slides and then golf in their bathing suites? Kinda off.. but I'm sure kids do enjoy that little extra attraction. My other star I knocked off is for the arcade room. Their arcade room is sooo old and grungy. (you'd definitely have in your mind..CLOROX!) Their games seem so ancient that I swear they were there way before I was even born. If they want their business to prosper, they need to renovate that arcade room! read more

this is a review about their arcade area. so please don't bash me with a hammer. i'll update my review once i check out their course. compared to MGL this arcade is tiny. they do have a nice genre of games from shooting, fighting, racing, and those ticket based games. there's less people that come here than the Milpitas one. so if you're the type of person that is shy to play games cuz there are so many people around, this place is for you. they get another star taken off because their coin changers are OLD. it took me awhile to change my quarters to coins. same goes with paper money. other than that this place is pretty cool. must try out their course one of these days read more

The staff working at the food bar are super slow with the food orders. The eating area is very dirty with flies EVERYWHERE, so I'm guessing they don't know how to do their job correctly. Apparently they have the same hotdogs cooking since the morning (and I came here late afternoon), as told from the staff member, so they don't have batches cooked throughout the day... GROSS! I took my wife to golfland on Sunday for some fun, I haven't been to this course in almost 20 years. Although still a lot of fun it looked like the course has not been maintained since the last time I was there. The amount of torn carpet and scuffed up putt area is a bit disheartening. having said that it was still great value for your money for an hour of entertainment. read more

Totally a fun place to take the kids on a hot summer day! Waterslides are the bomb, and the area is completely fenced off, so as a parent of a young child, I feel comfortable their. However, the food, especially the pizza is disgusting, and poor quality! Do'nt know who their pizza vendor is, but owner should consider a different source.! Very disappointed in my latest visit to Golfland on Blossom Hill in San Jose. I took my grandchildren on Friday 6/17 and once we paid for 36 holes I asked for a scorecard and was told that the printer broke and they didn't have any scorecards: I asked how do you keep score he handed me a blank piece of paper and said write it down here. After completing th first 18 holes we proceeded on to the next 18 holes; on the 15th hole we lost 2 of the 3 balls because ther were caught in the chute. When I went up to the desk the same person said that they have had problems on the 15th hole and have not got a repair mam out to fix the problem. There was no offer of replacing the balls and so we were forced to stop playing. If they have a known problem why are they selling rounds of golf on that 18 holes? read more

This is a great place to have Birthday parties with the available activites, we just had one for my youngest daughter and she had a blast. Very reasonable pricing for parties and the sections that are given for the party. The food is reasonable, Jessica who was a manager was our party coordinator because of low staffing, she was excellent and went above and beyond. The rest of there staff has a little to be desired, they need to be trained with better attentive skills as well as an occasional smiley face. The cost of the games is pretty extensive 40 credits yet the return on tickets is only 5 or 10 at the most. However my kid and her friends had a blast and my wallet cried over the cost for the arcade. hahahahaha read more

My 3 year old son was hungry but is very noise sensitive and balked at entering the noisy arcade to get to the food counter. I spoke to the lady at the outdoor window where the balls and clubs are handed out (I later asked and learned her name is Anne). I explained my problem, and to my relief she offered to bring the food out to us. She took my cash and returned my change. Unfortunately my son marched away before the food was ready. I was unable to persuade him to go back to the outdoor window even for food. Anne found us halfway across the golfland where my son had parked himself, and cheerfully delivered the food we had ordered. I was delighted! I thanked her for the above-and-beyond excellent service. My son and I happily munched on chicken strips and apple juice, while we watched the colored lights. It was the kind of good experience that made me appreciate how much difference one kind person can make in your day, when you are fortunate enough to meet them. I will be going back to Gofland frequently this Summer, in great part because Anne has given me the impression this is a very family-friendly place. read more

The worst! We had planned this birthday party for my daughter and made early reservations about 5 months ago. When we arrived, we were given 2 benches when we had asked and paid in advance for 4 benches.We were then delayed 30 minutes as they got another area ready for us to sit. Not a big deal right? Next, as we were getting ready to place our order for food, the website advertised Round Table Pizza, which was a major factor in us deciding to have the party there in the first place. We were told that they have decided to change vendors and no longer supply Round Table Pizza, instead they offered Papa John's (gross!). We asked to speak with the manager, Dan, and he was completely unwilling to accommodate us in any way stating that if he let us have Round Table, then he'd have to give it to the other guests who were also complaining of false advertisement. He asked to see where we saw that they supplied Round Table and we showed him their website and told him that we were told when making the reservation that they did indeed supply Round Table. As Dan and I were talking, he had the nerve to call me confrontational, which was very unnerving. Next, we witnessed a man trip over a dividing rope and landed on his face! WE went to the ordering counter and asked for an ice pack and notified them of what had just happened. The man was bleeding all over and his face was very banged up. It took Dan more than 15 minutes to come check on him, then he just sat there at the table talking to the man, instead of bringing any type of first aid. Next, we had paid for 10 kids to have activities, such as water slides and mini golfing. They hesitated on giving us the golf clubs for the kids. We were extremely frustrated with the level of customer service at this point and we were then approached by Jason, another manager, who was arguing with us about why we didn't need 10 golf clubs/balls. He laughed when we mentioned that we were going to leave a nice little yelp review.... overall, this was an absolute disaster and a mistake for my family to plan my eight year old daughter's birthday celebration. read more

Golf land was a terrible experience for my family. The people working there were grumpy and obviously hate their jobs. First off, the girl working the desk overcharged us for our 2 year old. We then were handed nasty dirty golf clubs that probably have never seen soap. Then we ventured onto the dumpy old golfcourse that has never been renovated or maintained ever. They even took away the nasty water which was my favorite part. My ball fell in the waterless hole and I just asked for a new one. Then at the end a toddler in our group was climbing where he shouldn't be, the unproffessional stupid kid working the desk started yelling at us from his gross little window. He was obviously grumpy and hates his job. I personally hope he is fired because he was extremely unprofessional towards us. Our toddler was not hurting anything and the pimply 16 year old was on a power trip. We left the dumpy joke of a hole (literally) feeling disrespected and never wanting to go back. I do not recommend golf land due to its poor service, grumpy workers and dumpy holes. One star is definitely very generous for this dump. read more
