We must have come at the right time because there was no wait and we had no trouble finding a table. We ordered 2 of their top 10 drinks. The first one is what my sister in law and friend rave about, Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3J's. You might as well order it in a large because its pretty tasty. I kept drinking my bf's drink even though I had a drink of my own. I don't know why I never thought to mix all 3 toppings together -- so good! Our 2nd drink was the milk foam green tea. I used to be able to say that I would give this place a 4 star. Possible 5, but coming here often enough causes me disappointment from time to time because the taste is never consistent. I used to always get the Earl Grey milk tea with 3 jelly and extra white pearl which was really great. But then I decided to try their number 1 which is the Green Tea Milk Foam. I loved it instantly, although I'd say it has a bit of a Jasmine taste to it instead of just plain green tea. I loved the Milk Foam as well since it's a little salty and mixed with the sweetness of the drink itself it really goes well. My biggest issue with this place is that the drinks are never consistent. And I'm not talking about Starbucks inconsistent I'm talking about the same people will make my drink and one day there's no ice, one day the tea will be so hot it melts the 2 ice cubes they put in it or it'll be too sweet or it won't be sweet at all. It's just very disappointing because when I go to Gong Cha I'm usually only going for the Milk Foam green tea. I also do wish they had a few more flavor options than just promoting a "Matcha Milk Foam" (where the Foam is green) that basically tastes the same as the regular Milk Foam. I brought my mom here the other day and she wanted to try something different from Kung Fu tea. In the end there was nothing she could get or the flavor she wanted wasn't there so I had to bring her over to Kung Fu Tea. This wasn't the biggest factor in my rating, but the inconsistency is. I've only stopped by here once, but it was enough to know that I will definitely be coming back. I got the yogurt green tea with black pearls and my boyfriend was kind enough to let me force him to share his pearl milk tea with me. Both drinks were exceptional. I have to admit, this was my second stop for drinks on the day I visited, and since I had milk tea after lunch, the refreshing yogurt green tea sounded perfect after dinner, especially after the extremely filling one I had. The yogurt is tart and flavorful, which blends well with the green tea to make a tasty drink that is light and soothing. Although I was happy with my drink choice, I was SO IMPRESSED by the milk tea my boyfriend got. Really top notch stuff. I could actually taste tea in it instead of the sweet, sugar milk that you get some places! I visited Gong Cha this past Tuesday with a girlfriend and I got the earl grey milk tea with 50% sugar while she got the winter melon milk tea with 50% sugar both without boba. At first I was like am I being picky requesting half the amount of sugar, but then I was like I mean if they offer that option and other customization ytf not?! We received our drinks and I gave mine a nice little shakey shake to ensure it's nice and cold. I proceeded to carefully insert my straw so I didn't spill any liquid goodness and upon the first sip it was like damn where have you been all my life?! I usually don't get milk tea flavors when I get boba I like the fruit and cream blends but man Gong Cha does it right. The freshly brewed premium quality tea makes a huge difference. I fell in love with Tea Bar and Organic's frozen cream green tea but Gong Cha also has a great version. When I visited today on Thursday I ordered the earl grey milk tea and the matcha foam green tea as the cashier recommended. It was really good if you love green tea and matcha. It's definitely not for everyone as I know a few friends do not like the taste of matcha or good quality green tea since they drink that lipton stuff. So I'm a nurse and whenever I get tired or groggy during my shift people would offer me coffee but I would tell them to just hook me up to an IV bag full of boba and I'll be all set. But lowkey tho, I'm a Gong Cha VIP in NYC. I'm currently visiting my parents in Houston and I was kind of surprised to find Gong Cha here. Even more surprised that they have flavors we don't have up north. My sister got the new strawberry boba milk tea and I got the creme brûlée brown sugar boba milk tea (warning - it'll take you straight to diabetesland but it's so, so good). I loved it - although I do love the drink with the same concept from my other favorite, Mogë Tea, in NYC more. The drinks themselves warrant 5 stars but the reason why I gave it 4 was because of the lack of social distancing precautions (everyone was way too close to each other not to mention those who were drinking inside with their masks off) and the long wait time. Tbh, I was feeling some type of way about the wait because there were noticeably 4 staff members working here whereas most of the Gong Cha locations in NYC only have a max of 2 and the wait time is almost nonexistent there so I think that all comes down to efficiency. I've been to Gong Cha for so many times before and this is the first time I've seen such a rude employee, I walked in this morning and she already gave me an attitude while side-glancing me??!! I was wondering whether I did something wrong to her, smh! The cashier guy was nice but the girl with the white hat working at the back was just meh.. However, the thing that pissed me off the most was that I ordered 3 drinks and the cup holder wasn't strong enough, usually there were supposed to be 3-4 cup holders stacked together so that it's strong enough to hold the drinks, but I only got 1 and it could barely hold my drinks. I was SOOO happy when I found out they were going to bring Gong Cha here! I first discovered this little gem in New York and I couldn't find the Earl Grey Milk Tea anywhere else- or as satisfying. The wait was out the door (probably because it's new and because they had a bogo offer). The place is pretty spacious, but had a really weird sewage smell. Hopefully they take care of that because it def ruined my experience! :( Place is kind of pricaaayyyyy too! The drinks were a mixed review. It's been about a year since I had the earl grey MT with 3 Js (3 jellies - pearl bobas, egg pudding and grass jelly). My friends also let me try their passion fruit and green milk foam tea. All the drinks had great flavor but their boba was undercooked. Probably just a busy day for them. The sign said they cook it every four hours though. I really only came here for the panda series milk tea. I heard this place had white pearls, I mean... I had to try it after hearing that. The panda series Milk Tea is just their signature milk tea with half regular boba and half their white boba. The milk tea itself was good, not too sweet and not too milky. I liked it! The bobas is where I kind of got thrown off! The black pearls were alright, I'm not a big fan of boba to begin with (I know, how crazy! I am asian, how do you not like boba!? ahah) I give the texture and sweetness of the boba a 7/10. The white pearls were really the star of the drink! I can't even explain the texture of it! I came here for the grand opening and the line was out of the door! The wait is about 25 mins from the door to the counter but it was worth the wait since the promotion is BOGO for top 10 menu items. Passion fruit has lots of flavor. It's very refreshing! No sugar need. Classic pearl milk tea is a tad too sweet. It isn't my favorite classic milk tea but I give it an average rating. I really enjoyed my earl gray milk tea! It had lots of flavor and comes with grass jelly, pudding and tapioca. I will say the tapioca wasn't soft enough but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. *normal level is about a 70%. 100% is extra sweet. I'll definitely come back! read more

It actually isn't the employees' fault for taking long.. it's the slow ass customers not knowing what they want after being in line for 45 mins or so... Drinks: Green milk tea - 5/5!!! Pearl milk tea - 5/5!!! Milk foam green tea - 5/5!!! Taro red bean - 4.5/5 Lychee oolong - 2/5 I highly suggest white pearls. It's made out of seaweed and the texture is more like jelly than boba. It's clear. It's healthier too ;) 70% sugar is their regular sweetness level. Ask for regular ice or your cold drink will be lukewarm. Make sure to try your drink before leaving. They're more than happy to adjust your drink to your liking. CONS (reason why I had to minus a star) - NO sticker/stamp card and they "don't know" when they'll be getting one - NO ICE CREAM BLACK TEA. This was a big one for hubby considering that it's his fave drink. Sherry (employee) told us that it's only available in CA because they don't have a freezer. I went a few times to the location in Hong Kong so I was super excited for this one to open in Houston. It was ballsy to open one in the same plaza as KFT and Sharetea but it was busy when I went and yesterday when I passed by it. I got the standard pearl milk tea and my friend got the earl grey milk tea with pearls, grass jelly, and egg pudding. The tea itself was great, not watered down and not too sweet. The boba tasted like standard boba. Inside was super cold (which is nice since Houston is like 100 degrees right now in the summer) and there were lots of tables and chairs and outlets too. There's a top ten drinks menu you can pick from if you have trouble deciding and also they had free samples in the front. After seeing Gong Cha's all over Asia, I was excited to see it come to Houston. Line was pretty long on a random weekday afternoon. Seating inside is typical capacity. Cashiers aren't that slow, but weren't that fast either. I ordered a lychee green tea to try something new than my usual (it was apparently one of their recommended items) with boba. The drinks didn't take too long to come out, which was nice. Their boba was nice and chewy but i missed that extra honey kick like how kung fu tea does. My friend's milk tea wasn't bad, but too sweet for me. The lychee green tea was alot of flavors with a nice complex after taste, but I'm ok with ordering something else next time. Maybe I'll come here to study if I can't find tables anywhere else.
