This is my first ever review but, my experience was so unbelievable that I had to comment. Breakfast was slow in coming and it wasn't very busy but, that wasn't the problem. I ordered a Belgian waffle, which on the menu comes with a meat choice, I asked if I could order waffle only and was told no problem. The bill charged me for waffle w/meat for $8.50, when I questioned the charge I was told that's the way it comes so basically, you're paying for the meat even when you order without. Today 6/23/22 I didn't have such a great experience. I ordered my go to favorite grits but for the first time it was unflavored and watery and when I asked manager it was nothing they can do rather than said we wouldn't charge you for it. I ended getting the fresh toast in which is another one of my favorite beside waffle and pancakes but I left very disappointed and most of everyone there are new staffer. I missed some of the other waitress that was there before I felt welcome with them not today I just didn't feel that welcome today my waitress was just having good time with other staffer rather than trying to make sure I was satisfied and it wasn't that busy when I got there at 5:30p and my ordered took a bit longer. I would argue the very low scored reviews are too extreme. This brand new, Covid-era diner is still working out some kinks. That said, the waitstaff is attentive & patient. The food is good diner food. I loved the smothered hash browns! They are crispy & delicious. The eggs are all Pennsylvanian Amish, fresh with beautiful orange yolks. It is very clean & attractive inside, which sets it apart from the majority of Wilmington area diners. I see this place being a local staple for a long time to come. They have room for improvement, but with area diners as the basis for comparison, this place is top notch. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. Our office ordered lunch. When the lunch order was picked up and paid for we got back to the office and there were items missing. We called there and were told that once the order was picked up and left the building they would not refund for the items left out of the order and would not remake the items for us. I then asked for the manager, was put on hold for approximately 7 minutes and then told that "Tom" had left the building. That is poor service. I was a continued patron for over a year, I loyal, brought everyone I knew there as it was my favorite diner spot. Key word WAS, went in to take my normal spot at the counter when a host yelled at me multiple times for doing something I do every weekend, sitting at the counter. Be advised the weekend (Sunday morning especially it seems people come at once around 8:30- 9:00 a.m. Keep that in mind) gets very very busy so the food will take longer to come to your table. I go during the week more often than the weekends. The reuben sandwich was just not good, to the extent that I have to wonder if the cook has ever had a genuine reuben from a real deli (Famous Fourth or Hymies, for instance.) The pastrami slices had been crisped on a flat top insted of sliced and at least microwaved in some juice and were dried out like shoe leather. Add a dab of Russian dressing and a forkful of sauerkraut and that was it. Not worth the price, and just a sad imitation of the real thing. read more

This was the worst food I have ever had at a diner in Delaware. Low quality food, everything was cold, hash browns weren't real. The plate and silverware were filthy and a mouse ran under our table. I hate leaving bad reviews so I always give a place a second chance. With better options in the area I have no need to come back here. The first time I got a favorite of mine sausage gravy and when I received it it was more like like sausage mush... I was wondering where the gravy was.... anyway on to the second trip. This time I brought the biggest critic I know, my wife. The staff is friendly and seat us. The waitress takes our order and leaves. Tbe waitress comes back almost 10 minutes later and confirms our order... this time writing it down. We wait another 15 minutes for our food and its not exactly what we asked for. I am new to the area and have had breakfast, lunch, and diner at this diner without complaints. For me the food has been excellent always in a timely manner, hot, and excellent along with the service. The place is immaculate and staff has always been pleasant and welcoming. Reading these reviews I am praying intelligence prevails because the negative are absurd and written out as if we/the public are some connoisseurs of cuisine. The expectations are as if your in a International Star Diamond Award (Academy awards of restraunts) which majority of us can neither afford or have access to secondary to long reservations and who is who gets there first. Great food - and I'm a chef! They have plant based options including vegan breakfast sausage! (Don't judge us lol.) They have spacious very clean dining area, outdoor seating and even a curbside pick up window! But best of all is the extraordinary customer service! Been there twice. First time just had simple meat and eggs with hash browns and toast. 2nd time ordered the eggs Benedict. Horrible. Hollandaise was gross tasting and separated like it was sitting for hours. Ended up sending it back and getting the chipped beef which was very good.
