    Nice bun to meat ratio

My friend and I seem to catch places when they're unfortunately closing for various reasons. They're on our bookmarked list of places but never had the opportunity. The building is being sold, so they're going out of business at the end of May. Unclear if they have plans to relocate somewhere else. We decided to go here after catching a musical at The Hobby Center downtown. I didn't realize Good Good Nadine's was so close to me right behind Truth BBQ and across from HEB. It has plenty of parking. Unfortunately, the handicap spots seem to be behind the entrance than the front. The entrance is through the outdoor and covered patio. I made reservations just in case for indoor dining since it was raining, but when we got there, the inside was freezing since we were wet. We didn't know that there was a large covered patio. Most people sat in that area, so we sat in a side booth there instead. It was comfy like patio cushions. We opted for that instead of the iron seats. Service was great. We ordered the Paradise smashburgers (mine without shredded lettuce) and added the hand cut beef tallow fries ($19). I asked for the aioli on the side, as well. I thought the burger was great. The meat had great flavor and was juicy. I liked the pickles. Compared to other photos I've seen where it was too much bread, my burger had a great bun to meat ratio. I added some ketchup and the aioli. The fries were great, but I wish I didn't get the tiny or small bits of fries compared to my friend's full cut fries. They had two non-alcoholic drink options, and I tried them both. The strawberry refresher was made with Seedlip, housemade strawberry syrup, lime, and soda. I preferred this one over the Palm Springs one because it had better flavor. The Palm Springs has coconut water, cane syrup, pineapple, soda, and toasted coconut. It wasn't what I expected it to taste. It was bland and was mostly coconut water and soda. It lacked the pineapple flavor to add sweet and tart notes. It wasn't sweet at all and also didn't have toasted coconut on top. It had a tiny snippet of maybe the end of a pineapple leaf that was browning? Not good. I took it off. Sad to see this place go. It is pretty nice inside and out. I enjoyed the smashburger compared to Burger Bodega down the street. The NA drinks could use some more love. I wish I would've tried the bread pudding! Totally forgot and was also full.

What a hidden gem! Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner and immediately loved the relaxed, cozy vibe. There was even a dance lesson happening when we walked in, which made the whole experience feel extra fun and unique. Service was great! Our server was super friendly, energetic, and checked on us without being overbearing. We decided to sit outside and got taken care of quickly. We started with a half dozen Gulf oysters, which came with all the fixings. The standout was actually the crackers. It had this seafood seasoning that paired perfectly with the fresh oysters. We also ordered the jalapeno cheddar cornbread (made to order), which came out after our mains, but was 100% worth the wait! It was crispy on the outside, with a fluffy inside, and a nice, cheesy, slightly sweet kick. For mains, I had the grilled shrimp po'boy. The shrimp was perfectly grilled, and it had a great texture. The bread was also delicious; it was crispy but not too hard, so it didn't scrape against the roof of your mouth as you chewed. My fiancé got the gochujang smoked wings, which he said had a really nice smoky flavor. Overall, great food, great service, and a chill atmosphere. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

I thought I was coming for happy hour but turns out I was late- no biggie. I still ordered the jalapeño cheddar cornbread and the blackened shrimp po'boy. I originally wanted the redfish po'boy but they were out :/. If I'm being honest, there was nothing particularly exciting about either item. The cornbread was just cornbread with jalapeños and cheese on top. The jalapeño and cheese weren't really incorporated into the cornbread itself, which made it feel a bit basic. Because of that, I found it a little overpriced. Same with the po'boy. Truly nothing special and you can kind of tell from the picture. It was bread, a lot of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, shrimp, and remoulade sauce. Service was decent. Our waitress checked on us after bringing the food and also suggested a few items for us to try. It did take a bit to get our checks once we were done eating, but it wasn't a huge deal. The restaurant was about 1/3 full on a weeknight- it seemed more of a place to hang out with a group in comparison to a date night vibe.

I went for Galentine's with my friend. It was raining so hard this year, and the workers were phenomenal and sweet. The food here has a fun twist on it. The cocktails are good! The herbs are fresh from the owner's farm. The vibe and ambiance is very cute and cozy. The parking is a little bit confusing.

I've been a few times now, couple times for drinks/happy hour- enjoyed their burger (really good, and you must get the fries), oysters and drinks, and more recently for a holiday party I hosted. I made a reservation here for our event and it was 10/10. Planning was super easy. Communication was so easy with the team, specifically Candace!! We were on the covered outside patio which was nice because I didn't want to feel like we were disrupting the other patrons. We did a gift exchange, ordered drinks and food, and were able to pay separately and Candace even offered to take some photos for us. I really have been trying to tell people about this hidden gem, it's great. Unfortunately I'm never on my phone when I'm here so I have limited photos. Just an opportunity to return :)

Y'all! First so sorry if this is my first post about this lovely bar! My husband and I first came here after we found it in th in-kind app. Rh m we've been here at least a half dozen times since! We typically come by ourselves but we have also attached invites friends as well it a a great spot to pre-game (busiest time but still plenty of space) or for a night cap(least busiest). Either way the drinks are phenomenal! The bartenders are super kind and friendly! I call Kike the cocktail God because he an make nearly any drink on point! Kevin is a ball of energy and just so much fun! Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar and get to know these guys! They are amazing people! Anyhow, love this bar and their exceptional drinks! It's so he perfect place to wind down.

We had a great time during our first visit. If it had lower ceilings I would swear I was in NOLA. The menu is rather limited but our food was fabulous. One of my favorite jalapeño smash burgers. It had just the right amount of heat. The chicken sandwich was tender and tasty too. The place was pretty packed because it was the day after Valentines and unbeknownst to us, their tango night. So we had a great meal, music, and entertainment. I will definitely be returning.

Beautiful day at Good God Nadine's!

Great bar restaurant with AMAZING snacks and menu items that make you wanna say "Uhm"! Went for Texas Cocktail Week and enjoyed their signature drink desert water. Enjoyed everything including food items we ordered.

Stopped by a few nights ago for drinks and they were solid ! We were looking to get the food but didn't know the kitchens closes at 11 so we barely missed it but are definitely coming back to try the food as they are a farm to table restaurant as well! Our bartender was great very friendly overall service was amazing definitely check it out !

Can you love something too much? I think not if that thing is Good God Nadine's.. (Feel free to skip reading this review and just go check it out for yourself). I have really been missing a spot like this. Cool, casual but vibey bar vibes with bomb food... I am HERE. FOR. IT. (maybe too often). Think Hay Merchant reincarnated but slightly classier. The spot -- vibey greens and browns give you a loungey feel without the pretentious nature. The patio is also large and looks inviting once the temperature is more amenable outside. -- and the cornerstone of all great spots-- The Parking!!! there are quite a few parking spots around the location so you should be gucci (but don't come in 6 cars and take them all :)). The food -- yesss, please! Top of the list are the asian inspired wings. I could eat these things every day. Haven't tried the other options yet because I can't pass on these. The burger x2 was quite nice and you can score this guy for $ 7 during happy hour. Let's not forget about the loaded fries w beef debris.. this is a sunday special that you may could convince them to make on another day.. Ask for extra sauce and these slap! I have not found a thing I did not like so far. The drinks -- top notch. There is usually 1-2 cocktail options in addition to wine option on hh. Don't skip trying one of their crafted cocktails for sure, for sure. The service -- my favorite kind -- chill but knowledgeable and overall excited to show off what Nadine's has to offer. Secure that resy for peak times. We missed going one friday night because they were booked (I blame friday hh until 7). I believe there is space for walk ins but no one is trying to risk that with Houston traffic. Overall, one of the few places I have been super excited about recently and am looking to secure my "regular" status ASAP.

4.75 s (mostly for street...not within the establishments control) Last minute dip into Nadines. I would say it's walkable but these streets aren't. Smallish parking but we went right after work, so no issues. I do rec ride share if you're planning on enjoying a few cocktails. The roads can be hairy. Plenty of drink options. Husband went with a Whistlepig OF and I chose a frozen T&T (tequila & tonic) to cool off, both tasty & refreshing. For edibles we went with the HH oysters & salad, and smash burger & fries. Restaurant aesthetic is eclectic. Love the combo of wood and ceramic tile, beautiful glassware, and plates! And loved the gallery art display. All so pleasing to the eye. Definitely recommend a stop in for a bite or a drink.

This unassuming spot caught my eye a few times while driving down Waugh, and after studying the casual yet thoughtful Gulf Coast-centered menu online I knew I had to pay a visit! M. and I swung by on a lazy Saturday evening and were delighted at all the available parking spaces surrounding the building (I had to read the signs a few times but you're in no trouble as long as you aren't going to Truth next door). All the tables inside were already occupied, so we opted instead to enjoy golden hour on the covered patio. Our pleasant server followed up quickly and took our "eyes bigger than stomach" order - here's my thoughts on what we tried: Sesame Guac - This Tex-Mex favorite draws East Asian inspiration from nutty sesame oil, crispy shiso crunch, and shattering prawn crackers and wonton chips. It's a great starter to share to start off a full meal or just something to nibble on while nursing a strong drink. Matagorda Pearl oysters - These lovely ocean beauties were the perfect balance of briny, tender, and fleshy - so easy to slurp down! They come with cocktail sauce, a tart mignonette, and fried saltines, but they're just as good on their own as they are with the provided accoutrements. Come during happy hour to get 6 for $8! Shrimp Po-boy - Delicious crusty bread, lightly battered shrimp, and crisp lettuce - there's not much more you can ask for in a po-boy. I will say it was a little on the drier side, so next time I might ask for a little extra mayo for myself. Do yourself a favor and add on the beef tallow fries, which have a wonderful bite and fluffy texture! Cocktails - The drinks here remind me of those at Winnie's and Betelgeuse Betelgeuse - they're fun, punchy takes on classic cocktail combinations at the standard 2025 price ($11-15). I enjoyed my creamy Mango Sticky Rice but am looking forward to trying the Carajilla or Pearadise on my next visit :) In short - Good God, Nadine's is so much better than good! I'm excited to support the restaurant's farm-to-table ethos and hope to drop by again for happy hour (and the soon-to-be-added Sunday brunch!)

The busiest Friday night yet per our waitress for this new farm to table restaurant concept in the Heights. Think hipster yet moody vibes, large outdoor patio, great music and seating options. Aiming for a chill but elevated date night or group hang w friends near this area? Perfect. The restaurant is visually stunning inside with dark teal walls and many different oversized paintings hanging on either end and of a gorgeous bar which greets you from the main entrance. Kinda felt like I was eating at a museum in the French history room. Limited menu but we liked what we tried: skillet cornbread w trout roe, crab dip, burger w their beef tallow fries, and the blackened redfish poboy. The cornbread was great, not a fan of the trout roe tho as it overpowered the bread for me. The crab dip seemed really low on crab. It just seemed like your good ol' regular cream cheesy dip. Burger was very good. Fries even better. The blackened redfish in the poboy was delish but really skinny pieces. Service did seem to struggle to meet demand this night however I would say we felt it improved as the night went on. Upon entry we did not see booth to check in and we were told to sit anywhere at the bar. Self seated at a table meant for a group but was more private, and felt this was a mistake when I realized other larger groups were walking in and noticed several wait staff peering at us. But it turned out ok. Waited a while to get our drinks etc. Parking note: small lot right outside but we were lucky to find a spot right away. Overall it was a good night, drinks were all on point. Hopefully will try this again when they expand their menu as the waitress mentioned they'll be updating regularly as all ingredients are sourced through owners connections with local farms. Go check it out!
