I think this is a good sub chain. They have hot and cold subs, soups, pastas and flatbread pizzas. And don't miss their huge chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies and brownies at the checkout counter. What I love about this place is the sub just taste so fresh every time. You walk in and smell the bread baking. They make your sub to order with fresh toppings. Then buy a big cookie and walk away happy. They don't have as many bread choices as subway, bread made in house white and wheat. Then asiago cheese on footlong only. They also have low carb bread on a "snacker" size sub. Their sub size options are 4 in mini, 8 in half and foot longs (some $5 specials). They also make party trays and cater. I've done the party trays before for a few work events and they go over very well. They even do online ordering. I'd like to see a few more hot subs on their menu and also the toasted option. But overall they are a good place to grab a bite.

Leone's Original snuck under my radar!…read more This was right across the street from where I worked for a couple years, and somehow, I didn't realize it was here! I met a friend here for lunch on a beautiful autumn Tuesday. Arriving at 11:00, we easily beat the lunch crowd, which did arrive, right around noon. They've got a large menu with lots of different options for pizza, calzone, stromboli, pasta, salads and more! Many pizzas were pre-baked and ready to serve right on the ordering line, and my friend picked two of those slices! I, on the other hand, wanted to make a slightly-custom stromboli. After putting in the order and having a seat in the large, open dining room, my order was called within 10 minutes - SUPER fast for a calzone! As my man Project Farm would say: "Very impressive!" In an age where it seems like everything costs more and more, the value here is really strong! ...which is probably why it filled up pretty quick at lunchtime - we saw a few dozen folks come in, order a slice or two to go, and head out. A pretty affordable lunch when you need pie in a pinch! As we conversed, we scarfed our food. My buddy's pizza looked good, and I definitely enjoyed my stromboli! Fresh, hot, crispy crust, thick-cut ingredients...MMMM! The hipster vibe here is exactly zero - this is an unassuming pizzeria, with drop-ceiling, self-serve fountain drinks, 80's-style tables and seats, and curmudgeon-y fellas working the ordering line and ovens. The focus is on efficient, tasty, affordable Italian fare, and it shows! If you know, you know... Food = 5/5 Facility = 2/5 Service = 2/5 Ambiance = 2/5 Value = 5/5

People working there were friendly enough & it was well staffed.

My order is sausage and pepperoni with extra sauce, which I think it needs. Without the extra sauce, that cracker-thin crust can get a little too cardboard-y for me. The extra sauce gives it enough moisture and balances everything out. And then there's Provel. WTF even is Provel? It feels like somebody created cheese in a lab specifically for St. Louis pizza, and somehow it's amazing. It shouldn't work nearly as well as it does, but it does. Sausage, pepperoni, extra sauce, Provel, cut into those little squares. It's not trying to be New York pizza or Chicago pizza. It's STL. If you like it, you love it. My one gripe is the coupon system, which is kind of janky. I've had coupons that work through the phone app but not the website, and even then some local stores don't accept them. It gets unnecessarily messy, especially in KC where Imo's already has a much smaller following than it does back in St. Louis. Still, when I want St. Louis-style pizza, it delivers.

Biggest surprise was the fries. Soft but with crisp, seasoned batter. Inside is smaller but clean and a patio for nice days. Service was excellent.

I had the vodka rigatoni with an Italian sausage, and my husband had the manicotti. I don't have words suffice enough to share the taste and how filling this was. I believe the wonderful surprise was the stuffed artichoke. We had been to Italy last year, and we learned about their love for artichokes. Some restaurants there stuff them too, and this was a close to exact from any stuffed artichokes we had there. The ambiance her is a bit dark and intimate, and our waitress was well informed with the wine pairing she suggested.

It's been a minute since my last visit, and I'm thrilled to report that absolutely nothing has changed... and for once, that's actually a compliment. Round 1: The Liquid Diet Naturally, I kicked off my personal Tour of Italy with a couple of custom cocktails. The Elegant Marguerite: Fantastic, but don't let the name fool you. This "elegant" drink has a dark side and can cause a first round knockout. Proceed with caution. The Limoncellotini: Hands down, the absolute star of the show. Sweet, smooth, and hit every single note on the playlist. Pure perfection. Phase 2: The Carbs & Carnage Next up was the appetizer round. I went with the Calamari Fritta, served with a classic marinara and a seriously impressive pesto-style sauce. The calamari itself was light, airy, and practically melted in my mouth. For the main event, I ordered their specialty: Chicken Vincenzo. We're talking lightly breaded chicken with mushrooms, garlic, and herbs and one heck of a flavorful sauce, side-chicked by a plentiful portion of linguine. The pasta was a masterclass in al dente, and this lived up to the hype. The Service & The Happy accident. Our server was fantastic--actually took the time to pour our drinks tableside and drop some stellar meal recommendations. The place was also impeccably clean, as you'd expect. But the real test of a great restaurant is how they handle a hiccup. One of our friends ordered the eggplant parm, but the kitchen accidentally sent out chicken parm instead. Now, they absolutely would have bent over backwards to replace it, but the chicken looked so darn good they just went with it anyway. When a mistake tastes that good, you know the kitchen isn't messing around. 10/10. Will be back to get hammered by that Marguerite again.

Sent it back, and the remake came out right. Jambalaya balls were a good concept but overloaded on rice and light on meat. That said, the crispy coating on them was well done. Asian chicken nachos were a toss-up. Chips held a decent crisp, but nothing about the dish stood out enough to win me over. Missed out on a free birthday dessert -- apparently you have to register with them in advance for that, which isn't obvious if you're not already in their system. The space itself is large and open, which made it surprising how busy it was for a Monday at 5:30pm. Staff seemed stretched thin for a restaurant that size -- service was slower than it should've been. The menu is enormous. Between the regular menu, a summer menu, and a special menu, it was more than I could reasonably parse. I stuck with the regular one. This tracks with my past visits -- always been a lot to wade through. Bottom line: Hit-or-miss on the food, service needs more staffing for the volume they get, and the menu could stand to be trimmed down.
