Thought I would try this place for lunch and we were very disappointed. We order the chicken soup ( there was no chicken in it) and the tuna salad sandwich ( which only had a tablespoon size of tuna on it) Our food was very below average, and our server never refilled our water, not even once They ask you to cash out with the server on the iPad which is fine but then the server just stands there at your table holding the iPad waiting for her tip. Came here on a Sunday at noon. Waited 5 minutes for a table. Stood in line to order for 15 and wait 25 for our dishes to arrive. 45 in all. My husband ordered a coffee which he was told to wait for at the table. After 15 minutes he finally asked at the counter for it. I wouldn't advise coming here if your in a hurry. I ordered the Kitchen Sink salad which was tasty but didn't leave me with a burning desire to come back for it again. The tasteless herb nut butter on the plate was an odd thing and had no place being included on this dish in my opinion. The scoop of chiken salad was better than aversge. I loved the various greens on the plate. The hubby ordered the Protein Wrap with the coconut gluten free wrap option. He said it was ok but nothing special. oh my god this place is amazing. The coffee and dessert anyway is incredible. I haven't had a meal yet, but I hear that the rest of their food is also incredible. There are 2 sides of this restaurant. One that looks super bright (I'm not a fan) and the other where the lighting is darker and more chill. The left (bright) side, I feel like is maybe the cafe, order stuff to go kinda side... and the right feels more like the sit down restaurant type of thing. The service here has gone way way downhill. The new layout is horrible - gone are the days of ordering at the counter and seating yourself. It's now table service only, and on weekends they're incredibly slow and often clueless. I don't need 3 different people asking me if I'm actually ordering to-go when I get to the cash register to order a coffee. I can read the 5 signs posted around the restaurant to figure that out. Furthermore, the prices have been bumped up across the menu. $14 for a smoothie with nut butter, banana and kale is outrageous, especially when it's in a 12 oz cup. My wife and I took a nice walk along the coast this morning 9/2. We decided to stop at this place to have breakfast. We always make sure to eat healthy and had never been here. I ordered the Greek scramble and my wife got a breakfast bowl. My wife's food looked by far better than mine. I ate my food, but will say don't get the eggs scrambled because whoever made them doesn't know how to make a scrambled eggs. Had a great dinner with my wife. Menu had all the things she loved. She ordered the pesto chicken bowl for dinner and I tried out a fabulous mushroom burger. Came by here with my mom yesterday for dinner. They have a good setup with windows and signs explaining their ordering and pickup areas. They require that you wear a face mask when you go up to the window, which I appreciate and understand. There were a couple of people in line in front of us when we showed up around 6pm, but it didn't take too long and we were able to put our order in. I'm not sure if this is an option, but it would have been nice if we were able to get our drinks right then and just wait for the food. I understand that may change their process, but just something to think about. Also, I would suggest putting another menu somewhere besides the ordering window. When my mom and I wanted to look at the menu and decide what we wanted, it was really difficult because the only one was right next to where people were ordering. I got the vegan sprout bowl and it was really delicious! Nice and fresh and filling. I also got an iced peppermint tea latte with cashew milk, which was tasty as well. This place was a charming stop for a warm breakfast on a chilly Encinitas morning last week. We stopped here for breakfast on President's Day and the tasty meal and friendly service really made for a great experience. I had the breakfast burrito with a coconut tortilla and it was interesting. Not what I expected, but very good. It was a little hard to cut and tasted a bit bland, but did a half decent job of clothing my eggs and beans. Amazing!!! It's refreshing to see a cafe that exudes so much passion in their ingredients. So many unique and healthy and-dare I say it- pretty intricacies to each item on their menu. Even with their sugars (organic cane sugar and coconut palm nectar). Their Americano was pure perfection; smooth, hot, and deep-sigh-worthy (with the three+ seconds close eyes). I pretty much inhaled it. Usually, "health-conscious" food places aren't as committed to every single thing on their menu and their store. And many don't know how to make good coffee. It's rare to come to a place and have it all. You get it all at GoodOnYa and I feel the price for high quality ingredients, service, and coffee is very reasonable. I also had their protein breakfast wrap. Delicious and hearty. They do not skimp on the avocado and their salsa is so fresh and delicious-mild but with a tiny kick. The Turkey Greek Salad was a good size and the ingredients were superior quality. Lettuce nice and crisp. The Greek dressing had great flavor. If your looking for tasty food this is not the place to go. I am a vegetarian and eat very healthy but healthy can still taste good and have flavor. I ordered a California pizza and it tasted CARDBOARD. Legit the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my whole entire life. They give you some type of dry bread topped with random slimy toppings and the fries were gross so I returned them. The Kombucha on tap was good the lavender chamomile. But that was it. This the first time I left a food place this disappointed. My boyfriend was laughing when he saw the pizza. It looked like a 4 year old made it in an easy bake oven. I had told her how good it was. So I ordered it instead of having anything to eat. In the time I wasted there I could have been home and have made myself a nourishing meal. The mushroom chai was like water. They made another after the woman I called over after having gotten her attention came over to the table. she told the young woman behind the counter who raised her eyebrows. Second one was just like hot water with hardly any favor. When I got someone's attention a young man came over to explain how the tea needs to be steeped and that it was not steeped enough, how the food is actually not cooked in the restaurant and that sometimes they do not get things like soup. Although it is listed on the menu. I told him that a spoon and a napkin is usually served with tea. He asked me why a spoon and napkin is served with tea. A millennial question. I wasted my time telling him. I told him that I had been telling people that it was a good restaurant, had come out of my way to get there must to be disappointed. Basically I sat there and drank watery tea & watched 5-6 servers millennial age acting like they did not know what to do, ignored customers, & am home hungry & having to make dinner for myself. Finally, today, I got a muffin that was a decent size! When they were first opened, the muffins were quite large, about as big as your fist. Sadly in the last year and a half they have been whittled down to about 1/2 that size! You could literally put the entire muffin in your mouth at one time. The second time I've been here the line to order was extremely long. The third time they had a new method of seating people and serving them. The waitress took my order and after 30 minutes of waiting she goes up to me to tell me they did not receive my order and have not made it yet. She claimed there was a wifi error and that's why it didn't go through. It was really upsetting because I was on my lunch break pressed on time and I waited a whole 45 minutes to get my food leaving me with 15 minutes to scarf down the veggie burrito. Did a easy 6-mile run up here and always wanted to try this place so I popped in for a refuel. Didn't know what to order since it was my first time here so I went for a staple soup and sandwich combo. I ordered the Turkey #1 on multigrain bread (turkey, cranberry sauce, Jack cheese, avocado) and the tomato basil soup. The coffee menu also caught my wandering eye and I could not resist the call of the salted caramel latte (my boyfriend is to blame for getting me addicted to salted caramel everything!). The sandwich was awesome. It was like a sandwich you would make at home, except with exceptionally fresh organic ingredients. The bread was soft and had an artisanal texture that was velvety and moist. The combo of flavors in the sandwich filling could only be described as So Cal Thanksgiving without the unhealthy gravy. Delicious, filling, and not at all coma-inducing. The tomato basil soup was served piping hot and was chunky like a good marinara sauce. It had a garden fresh flavor and made my belly happy. The salted caramel latte was a delish "dessert" to finish off the meal! How can a drink like that not be delish, after all. You can't go wrong with salted caramel. Overall, I would classify this place as being a little on the pricey side, but you soon forget that with the quality of the fare they are serving.
