This place is SO good! I got a Sprouted Probiotic Salad (fermented carrots and ginger was a little strong) but over all the ingredients used were super fresh! I subbed the vinaigrette for the ranch and it was tasty. I also got the Veggie Sweet/Savory sandwich to go on the gluten free sourdough bread. I am now craving that sandwich again- definitely a winner! The service was okay. The waiter didn't bring out an water to fill our empty glasses until he brought the bill. I love goodonya. The service is exceptional, all of their food is super clean, lots of vegan or dairy free options, and lots of gluten free options too. They even have healthy desserts that don't make me feel bad after I eat them. Their lemon coconut muffin is delicious and it is gluten and dairy free! I like their wraps, they also offer Gf tortillas if needed. Their bowls are also amazing, and super healthy and filling. I have never had a bad experience here. I like this place! I wish I came here more when I lived in San Diego (especially since I LITERALLY lived right across the street). Anyway, what a cute little joint with probably one of the most natural, organic, and healthy menus I've ever held in my hands. Pre-Covid, the joint was such quaint little spot - you could almost be a regular and I feel like they would know you! I would see people enjoying meals with family, couples, and some just chillin' out on their laptops enjoying a flavorful meal. The few times I've been here, it was always lunch but the food is always delicious. I've had their bowls, salads and burger - the burger was phenomenal - I can usually scarf these things down but man this one was filling and so satisfying! The coffee is always solid and I have to say, these interesting waters and elixirs they have are something I must try once I am back visiting my old home of Encinitas! While attending the Encinitas wine festival we met Kris, one of the owners of Goodonya. We loved the Sangiovese she had at her table, my girlfriend and I found it to be the best wine there. Kris was GREAT, after coming back a couple of times she gave us a bottle to take home. An amazing gesture that we will never forget, so as you can imagine we were very excited to try Goodonya. We drove up from downtown on a late Saturday morning. We were promptly seated, our waitress took our drink order, came back, helped us with the menu, ordered and that was the last time we saw her. After about 30 mins we were starting to wonder about our food. Especially considering people sat after us were getting their orders. It wasn't very busy. We waited about another 30 minutes before we threw in the towel, keep in mind we never saw our waitress again, we definitely would have ordered refills. Not wanting to dash out without paying for our drinks, we walked to the front, asked how much we owe for the coffee and tea and advised we never got our food. Our waitress responded with "did you order food?" to which I replied in a bit of shock "yeah.. from you". She then apologized, said the kitchen must have lost the ticket. I'm thinking she totally forgot about us, we still aren't sure. Very disappointing considering how excited we were to eat there (and hungry!). I have eaten here many times but today I went in after a run and was by myself. I get the same thing every time and it never disappoints , baja scramble with egg whites only. I sat by the host stand today and had the privilege of listening to the staff chat with customers and with each other. I have been in the restaurant business for 35 years and today was one of my best experiences to date. Chloe was so in tune with each customer who came in and spoke with other employees with such kindness. She is such an asset to your company, I would hire her on the spot. We came here for breakfast today and it was so amazing!!! We ordered the Encinitas sandwich, avocado toast, and breakfast tacos. We also got various forms of coffee. Everything was delicious!! I felt extra good about spending money here because it's a B Corp. They had paper straws, GF options, and non GMO ingredients. To make it even better, I didn't see ANY single use plastics in the whole place. I had the protein roll which is eggs and ham wrapped up in a coconut paper, it's a bit sweet but tasty and light. Sans cheese on mine, but the avo makes it perfect. Was a bit bummed they didn't have sriracha but they do offer a habenero and a jalapeno sauce. I tasted the tuna on sourdough with avocado, it is a small sando but tasty. Nothing comes on the side, you pay extra if you want something. The prices are in my photos for breakfast and lunch. Not the best pricing but for a change, check it out and you decide. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, I try to give places the benefit of the doubt. This place however had horrible service, terrible food and the servers and cashier or unfriendly. I don't recommend it . Burnt Sister for Breakfast My family and I just got back from having breakfast at Goodonya to celebrate my twin sisters birthdays. The waitress accidentally spilled hot coffee on my sister. She apologized profusely as well as the manager who came over with an ice pack and said that she would adjust our bill accordingly. We understand that accidents happen, never the less, it put a damper on our birthday celebration. At the end of the meal when we received our check the manager had only taken off one coffee as compensation for the waitress accidentally spilling coffee on my sister. We have been here a few times now..usually on a Friday or Saturday. Everything is generally pretty good, although the portion sizes for the price are less than desirable. I understand that they use more expensive ingredients but they could put a little more love and care into the presentation. I do like that the ingredients are all organic and fresh. I usually get a scramble which is good...but nothing overly amazing. Needed more flavor for sure. We have also had the cinnamon roll which was served cold and is extremely dry...not worth it all. I love all of the healthy options, gf options, kombucha on tap and the coffee selection. It is a good healthy spot for breakfast or lunch. I will say that the kitchen is painfully slow on the weekends and there have been several times where items were missing from our order. I think I would just prefer to order food to go in the future so as to avoid the long wait time or just avoid coming on the weekends. It is definitely worth trying if you are in the area. read more

I gave five stars to this place because it was really clean, the menu was pretty fantastic, our server was the VERY BEST, and the broccoli soup was vegan AND DELICIOUS! I ordered a gluten-free pizza, and wish they'd cooked it a bit longer honestly... The kombucha was superb, the salad was FRESH and perfect, and every single thing was organic and very very VERY good. I'd recommend it for sure. I'd have given it a four and a half because I think pizza should have been an easy thing to cook properly.... but I ate it and really, the place is pretty great!
