Cinnamon Rolls (served with Cream Cheese Icing), $7.95
    Elle C.

As soon as we entered, I was captivated by the heavenly and comforting aromas of their baked goods. My eyes widened, desiring to taste everything (nothing new for me). However, my concern was what would my gluten-sensitive son be able to enjoy? That's when I realized it's a gluten-free (as well as free of corn and soy) restaurant! Our order consisted of the following: - PESTO CAPRESE PANINI, $16.95, with option for side salad +$3 (soft-&-fluffy focaccia bread; nice flavors. ); - ABC TURKEY CLUB (option for half, $12.95, or full sandwich, $18.95); while I wasn't given the opportunity to even taste this, I'd heard it was full of delicious flavors (including by hubby, who is usually skeptical of gluten-free products); - OATMEAL RAISIN "BIG" COOKIE, $5.45 (indeed big, and chewy and tasty); LEMON BLUEBERRY MUFFIN, $4.95 (generous in size, moist & flavorful) Based on the big-&-plump appearance and taste of these menu items, I wouldn't have thought that these are gluten-free. Hubby's first choice was a cinnamon roll, had they not been out. Prior to leaving, a tray of big-&-beautiful, unfrosted cinnamon rolls was displayed; I spoke to a customer who'd purchased one. She stated that one wouldn't be able to tell that they are gluten-free, and that she drove 2 hours to have one! I appreciate that they offer a few inside seating options; my only suggestion would be larger-&-sturdier napkins and plastic utensils. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Eager to return to experience one of their cinnamon rolls -- and more!

Coop is a neat little new spot located right in the plaza in Solana beach. They specialize in gluten free etc bread and have a pretty substantial menu. Overall my experience was pretty average, the sandwich was totally uncooked and had almost no flavor. I'll give it another shot, but overall a bit more average overall.

Gluten-free chocolate chip cookie. The picture is deceiving; it's huge.

This was my first time at The Coop and it is gluten-free heaven! They have sandwiches are very generous and the ingredients our quality. Everything was delicious. Staff takes allergies and intolerances seriously here and are very accommodating. The inside is super cozy with plenty of seating and there's ample parking as well. I took four of a variety of gluten-free muffins and a loaf of sourdough home to enjoy later. I'll definitely be back and bring hubby too! This is definitely a little gem in Solana Beach.

Coop in Solana Beach is an absolute gem. It's just a short walk from the train station and close to the freeway, but it feels like a little neighborhood secret. The pastries and food dishes are fantastic - fresh, creative, and super satisfying. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality you get. The entire restaurant is completely gluten-free, but you honestly wouldn't know it from the taste. If you don't normally eat gluten-free, you'll probably like the food even more because it's so well done - you just feel good after eating there. On top of that, the staff is very, very friendly and welcoming. They really seem to care about the customers and the experience. Overall, Coop is well worth a visit (or many). I'm already looking forward to going back.

Heck yes. Just the place I've been looking for! The food is delicious-I had the breakfast eggie and a cinnamon roll and they were both fantastic. Could not tell they were gluten free! That was seriously one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. The inside of the restaurant is really cute. Ample seating both indoors and outdoors and family friendly-I spotted a coloring corner and high chairs available as we walked in, which is such a wonderful option for celiac kiddos who are usually so limited in places to eat. All the baked goods looked so amazing that I would have tried everything. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Conveniently located across the street from Solana Beach's design district which is a nice place to walk and window shop after eating. Will most definitely be back!

This new bakery, which recently opened in Solana Beach, caters mainly to gluten-free customers. Open for both breakfast and lunch, the store offers a limited variety of sandwiches and soups in addition to a few pastries like muffins and cookies. I went to check them out for breakfast but found only a couple of things on the menu to select from: a quiche, an egg sandwich, and avocado toast. I noticed the menu listed a LOT of add-ons for an additional cost. For example, a plain avocado toast is $10 without any toppings. My tiny coffee (8 or maybe 10 oz) was $5, and there is an extra charge to add milk or cream (yes, shocking). Lunch sandwiches prices ranged from $17-$20. The prices are very high, and I was the only customer in the store. Perhaps their bread and butter comes not from retail/cafe but providing restaurants with gluten free products. Customer service was friendly, nice place, lots of seating inside. I'm all for supporting local businesses but I'm unlikely to return to this one. I appreciate clear and concise menus without hidden or added fees and high cost for counter-service cafe.

The beers were good, service was excellent, and the food menu looked enticing even though this was just a quick beer stop for us. I have to admit when I first sat on the patio overlooking the "lagoon" I thought this is kind of an oversold view considering it is literally in the name. Then an egret wandered by and suddenly it all felt a lot more coastal California and a lot less random pond behind a brewery. Ended up being a really chill spot. Would definitely go back.

We mixed in the house hot sauce which in my opinion elevated it. I got the crispy shrimp tacos. They were good. Kind of overloaded with cabbage but all the flavors were there so no complaints. My cuz got the Thai coconut chicken sando which looked . He said it was good too. All in all. Epic location, great food, great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. I was hoping to see abundant lettuces, some avocado, healthy pieces of roasted turkey, punchy gorgonzola vinaigrette. I got what seemed like not a lot of lettuces, watery diced up sliced turkey spread throughout, some fresh avocado, and a mild but tasty vinaigrette, and some good pickled onions. So it wasn't what I was expecting for a Cobb Salad, but rather felt like a watered down and small version. Chicken Kabob had only small diced up chicken, no chunks of chicken like you might expect and no smoky flavors. Tuna poke had some good raw tuna, rice, greens etc. But what I really felt like was going on here is that instead of price inflation we have portion reduction. All our bowls were on the smaller side, though the prices are still decent for what you can get nowadays. Lunch for four almost $100. Just not deeply satisfying. Service was quick and prompt and there is plenty of great outdoor seating. Looking for an ok healthy bite you can go here, but reality did not meet my expectations here.

So we took the coast and enjoyed the long way to the restaurant so we could get there at the right time. No issues parking, but we went during a slow time. It's off steet parking, there's not a parking lot, but again we found plenty of spots right in front of the restaurant. They have pretty and colorful decor. Fun lights and beautiful flowering tree coverage. Seating is outdoors so dress accordingly. I knew this because we've enjoyed dining here a few times, so I actually used my little throw blanket. It's causal but some Couples dress up and eat here too. Server was great. He was tentative and nice. I knew I wanted the shrimp causa and my daughter's favorite Peruvian dish is Lomo saltado, so thatd what she ordered. He told us about the specials so we went with trying the baked scallops. I'd asked for 2 and he accidentally brought 4 but immediately realized and without us having to even ask, he offered to take the extra two off. So grateful he caught that. My daughter doesn't like scallops and I just wanted to try them. I like sea scallops but these were bay scallops. I never asked so I shouldn't have assumed. It was a tasty appetizer, talked my daughter into trying it but she wasn't interested to try more. She loves Parmesan cheese and there was a lot but she wouldn't attempt the scallops. They were not under nor over cooked. I'm not sure what made it taste so unique but we both agreed we've never tasted anything like it. The shrimp causa wasnt the same flavor as months months ago. We don't live near so it's been a while since we've tried it. The alioli was a lot spicier than ever but still had good flavor but the causa was dry. But I had a side of alioli to help with that. Shrimp was tasty. Several other restaurants shrimp has been tasting off for months but this place shrimp tasted better. The Inca and chicha were delicious. I miss the cut up apple they use to put in it but still tastes fresh. Lomo Saltado was just two huge potato wedges and very few rice. Look at the photo. We did not eat any of it yet. This is the portion. It had good amount of jugó but the flavor wasnt like anything we'd tasted in Peru. BUT there's many many areas in Peru and we've only lived in a few and have only visited a handful more so just because it's not like any lomo we've tasted, doesn't mean it's not Peruvian. My daughter still liked it. It was high soy sauce and high vinegar taste. Lomo has both, but it was missing the cumin and flame flavor for me. We don't like potato wedges at all but she cut it up and made due with it. We were sooooo hungry from all day at the zoo so we almost finished all of it. None of the dishes are repeats for us but again, they taste good, just not the flavors we are use to, it's been a while so maybe that's why the causa and lomo tasted different. The server asked how is everything, im sure if we had said something he'd probably sought to help, but really it is what it is. I just think they cook differently then what we have had living in Peru. My husband had the seco here time ago, it's was incredibly delicious. He loves lamb. It was cooked perfectly and the frijoles were delicious as well. I hope the decide to put that dish back on the menu. Please. Not every visit is gonna go perfectly, that's not possible. Still a fun colorful restaurant with great service. Plates had great presentation. Not long at all ago I enjoyed the ceviche. I was just too cold to get it this time. Gonna got for it next time. Another couple got a huge salad. It looked so good, imma look for it on the menu next time.
