We were visiting the Boston area and saw Goodstuff on the Phantom Gourmet show and decided to make a road trip for BBQ, and are we glad we did. We started off with the Pulled Pork Fries appetizer they were delicious. We moved on to the Pastrami sandwich and the Brisket sandwich both were so big we had to take half of each home. We finished gorging on a two meat plate of Pastrami and Brisket with fries and cornbread. Every bite tasted like another bite, everything was cooked to perfection. The only short coming was they were out of Kettle Corn, but since we were so full and satisfied there was no complaints. We would recommend Goodstuff Smokehouse to anyone who wants a BBQ fix. read more

This place is OMG GOOD!!! You could smell the smoker while driving down the road. We shared the fried pickles and fried cheese curds as appetizers. Then I had the pulled pork platter with collard greens and onion straws. My husband had the 3 way combo (smoked chicken, brisket and pastrami) with pit beans and slaw. The portions were HUGE. While the food was good, the customer service was beyond sub par. Good stuff Smokehouse offered to cater for my brothers memorial bike run, and apparently there was confusion regarding who was required to serve. Totally fine - stuff happens and there were quite a few details overlooked while planning the overall event as this was the first one planned. HOWEVER - when multiple people asked them for clarification, the attitude, lack of empathy and general disregard for customer service was appalling. Over two hundred people were in attendance, and the Good Stuff Smokehouse employees there refused to help find a reasonable solution. While my family was setting up, they stood aside by the smoker and mocked them as there were 80 or so raffle items donated by the community and a lot to set up. The owners of the American Legion where this was hosted were baffled by their unprofessional behavior and lack of willingness to problem solve. Neither I, or the venue, will work with this company again. The food was good though. Beans were lacking. Hope the wait staff at this restaurant take more care with their customers than the chefs did. read more

I'm looking at this offering almost with a note of disdain thinking - just stick to the basics, kids - give us brisket, ribs, pulled pork. That's really all you need to do. Don't get cute... Been here a couple times on lunch breaks w/ coworkers. Which brings me to my first plus: Pretty empty at lunchtime. Other plusses: + The fried pickles. I've had my share of fried pickles and these are (to quote Miss Tina) simply the best. Just the right amount of fried and full of flavor. So good you won't even want the dipping sauce. + The staff. Super friendly and attentive. We were seated right under a music speaker (bumping out 80's rock - another plus, ha!) that became... louder. We asked for it to be turned down a tad and they promptly did it. Opportunities: - Goodstuff has plenty of sauces on every table, which is a good thing because unfortunately, the chicken in my chicken sandwich didn't taste like much without it. - Same goes for the cucumber salad. Honestly, the meats are delicious. I've had a wide variety of their offerings. Pulled pork and the chicken are both great. My recent meat choice was the brisket (see photo below) and it was lovely. I got the lean option and it was very tender and juicy. I've had a problem with their side options in the past. I don't like the mashed potatoes (way too much skin in them) and the mac & cheese is a miss for me. I like it creamy and it's more of a velveeta/fake cheese taste that barely sticks to the pasta. Please note: these sides don't taste horrible, it's just my opinion. This time around I got the candied sweet potato (fucking delicious!) and the cucumber salad (it had too much vinegar but overall, a nice refreshing side). I was a lot happier this time around in my side choices. The cornbread that comes alongside the meal is very good as well. I've heard while dining inside, you don't get as much of a portion with the sides, but for take out in my experience, the portions are MORE than enough & very generous. This meal costed $22 and in my opinion worth getting a couple times a year if you're craving a tender brisket. Keep in mind, It is a pricy lunch regardless. read more

But we were seated next to a very drafty glass exterior door. The menu is really very good, lots of choices between platters and sandwiches. For drinks most of us got the homemade root beer. It was good. But $3 seemed high for a glass with a lot of ice. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer which was a generous portion, plenty for 4 to share. For my meal I got the two meat platter, choosing the sausage and brisket. While the flavor was very good, I'm puzzled by reviewers who found the portion size impressive. I took a picture and will share it. 4 thin strips of brisket and 1 sausage. Not much meat for the $18.99 price in my opinion. My wife got a cheeseburger and she thought she got more food than me. It's hard not to order food from here when you can smell the meat smoking all day I highly recommend the pulled pork and ribs. Sooooo delicious my son won't eat my pulled pork anymore because "smokehouse is wayyy better". We also love the corn bread they make. Plus they have been amazing and helping support kids who have been at home since school closed during this pandemic by donating kids meals every week day, how incredible!! Mixed feelings on my first visit. After multiple calls we just decided to drive down and order in person. No big deal times are crazy I get that. We brought it home and found multiple items missing. One of which was on the receipt the others weren't even on the receipt. We had to drive back, the missing item was sitting there. "We were wondering what that went to " no apology, no concessions or comps. The mac&cheese, cole slaw, and fries were quite below average. Not impressed at all. The brisket despite a huge thick smoke ring was close to flavorless. Super fatty even for a brisket. On the positive, the fried pickles have a perfect balance between pickle and batter. A tough balance to maintain. The pulled pork is among the best I have ever had. If I go back I would get that again. The highlight is their homemade root beer. This stuff is fantastic. C'mon folks, the food is very good, fresh and lots of great choices, this is a gem hidden in Blackstone, Ma.

So the chicken was good. Brisket was also tender and enjoyable. Cornbread good with exception of the Burt edges. Mac and cheese good. Picture craft shells and cheese but with some real cheese added do it has some stringiness when you spoon it to your face. These items were good. But the coleslaw and spare ribs sucked. Coleslaw was dry. Put more dressing on it. And the ribs were not cooked enough. Rubbery as heck. Not fall apart at all. I recon they needed at least 1-2 more hours as the section I got were huge. If they cooked them with smaller rib pieces they may have thought they were all done but mine were not. I literally couldn't pull the 3 bones apart. So ya bummed on that. Chicken is hard to screw up so that won't raise my rating to much. Sorry. The sauces were pretty good. Just bummed since my smoked ribs were bogus. Again maybe an isolated incident. Teach the employees to do the bounce test and if they don't split smoke em longer. You can't throw different size cuts of meat on the rack and pull them at the same time. And if you're gonna say this is how you guys do ribs in New England, then you can keep 'em. I don't know anybody personally that like tough smoked meats. Place has potential. read more

Grabbed some takeout for lunch, the fatty brisket was superb, tender and juicy. The ribs were little dry but good. The sweet potato tots were superb, wife and daughter loved them. Very good corn bread. The cucumber salad was a bit chunky but tasty. Prefer my cucumbers sliced thin. Counter service was very good, attentive and quick. Looked like a nice dining room. The arrangement for grabbing any needed accompaniments was clean and well organized. Utensils in a package, good in times like these. As with any BBQ place, the sauces were in pump dispensers with portion cups. I did like that there was a marker to label your sauce containers when you filled them. A lot of places don't have that available to you. The sweet BBQ sauce was very good. I liked the Tangy sauce as well. I found the Bold sauce seemed taste more just chili powder than any heat. Would say that I will stop by and try again as they are actually pretty close to me. read more

Brisket: juicy and flavorful Chicken: tender and well rubbed Ham: deliciously decadent Pulled pork: finger-licking good Burnt ends: divine and just the right amount of flaky Turkey breast: slightly dry, easily corrected with delicious home-made BBQ sauce BBQ sauces served are either sweet, tangy or bold. Very tasty BBQ "in the middle of nowhere". Excellent service. Big portion sizes no matter what the option is - sandwiches / burgers are oversized but not unwieldy. The platters are big enough for two to share (if you're into sharing barbecue?!). The sauces are house made and come in three flavor profiles so nicely done on that as well. Last time I was there they were making fresh kettle corn out front as well so needless to say the aromas were intoxicating to say the least. Delicious! Who knew there would be great bbq in New England! Would highly recommend! For meat we got: pulled pork, brisket (lean cut), and burnt ends. -Pulled Pork: really tender, flavorful even without sauce, for my boyfriend this was the star of the show -Brisket: they offered a lean or fatty cut; we chose lean as that is our preference. It was so flavorful, juicy, tender, falling apart. I personally LOVED this, some of the best brisket I've had ever. -Burnt Ends: these were unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. They were extremely tough and difficult to eat. Almost jerky-like. From photos from other patrons, it seems like this is out of the norm for them as they looked much more tender / juicy in other photos. We guessed that since we went at the end of the night (8:30pm) we may have gotten the last few burnt ends/the dried out throughout the day. That all being said the flavor of these was really good, a bit spicy! We chopped them up and put them into a sauce pan with some beef stock and they softened right up. Delicious!
