2 Meat w/ 2 Sides & Cornbread (Brisket, Hot Link, Pit Beans, Mac & Cheese)

Stopped in on a Friday night after 8pm with a large group. The place was still fairly busy. We all ordered takeout and the staff that helped us was all super friendly and happy to help. They didn't seem stressed that we were there. They executed getting all of our food and drinks out in a very fast and organized manner (probably 15+ individual orders). The food was great and they also had homemade Root Beer & Creme Soda which was very good. The BBQ and the Sides were delicious as was the Corn Bread. Will definitely be back to try more.

Last month I ordered the Half Rack of ribs which were very good, and the Half Chicken dinner, which was very dry. I was in the general area and decided to try Goodstuff Smokehouse again, and ordered the following for takeaway: * 2 Meat Combo (with Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potato, Ribs, Fatty Brisket) $27.00 * Small Cucumber Salad $5.00 In this case, the Brisket was very good, but the Ribs were way overdone, mostly inedible (check out the photo). Everything else was quite good, the issue here is the inconsistency, and the fact that this type of venue should always have good ribs!

I like Goodstuff Smokehouse. I appreciate what they do for the local community as every Thursday is a fundraiser for interested local organizations. The restaurant itself is small but always cleanly and I love how their windows have seasonal paintings on them. They also sell excellent kettle corn. I highly recommend! My grandma and I went last night but have been here numerous times before. I've often found some of their meat to be pretty dry but I do like the meatloaf. That's exactly what I had last night along with baked potato salad, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. They also make some of their drinks in house as well like the iced tea and root beer. My meatloaf was great! Nice Smokey flavor and four pieces was a hefty portion. The last two slices had some harder pieces of fat which I needed to take out of my mouth though. The potato salad is always killer- I think they add some sour cream to it to make it tangier. Cornbread is some of the best I've ever had- super sweet and cake like. The Mac and cheese was also excellent with great creaminess. Iced tea was sweetened and also very good. Our waitress was very kind and accommodating. We had banana pudding for dessert which was good overall. I prefer the Magnolia Bakery recipe more but appreciated how the nilla wafers were fresh and it had plenty of banana. I would lay off the cool whip in the future though. Overall, an excellent restaurant who does right by their employees and the community. I love to see it and support whenever I can!

Let's start off with the Cuban sandwich it was good but I have had better but for this neck off the woods I'll give it a 7.0 now for the rib tips truly amazing I did not Evan have to touch the bbq sauce and they have 3 to choose from bold sweet and tangy I put the sauces on my beans and corn bread ! That being said I will definitely be coming back . Feels like a bbq restaurant bbq pits out side Smokey smell hits you in the faces this is the real deal !!!!

Pulled pork, ribs, corn bread, fries and Mac 'n cheese

This is a great spot for BBQ. I wish I'd known about it sooner and we'll definitely be returning. I got the watermelon sangria which was so refreshing on a hot day. My husband and I split a 2 meat platter with pulled pork, ribs, fries and Mac 'n Cheese. The cornbread was so tasty and moist, as was the pulled pork. I can't wait to try the pulled pork as a sandwich next time. Meaty ribs, yummy fries, and my husband loved the Mac 'n Cheese. (I'm picky with cheese so I didn't try it.). We made it just in time before the restaurant was packed and there was a line and wait to get in. I'd suggest getting there around 11:30, since everyone filed in close to noon.

Great bbq restaurant!! We split a combo and added two sides. Ribs, chicken, burnt ends and brisket. Everything was great but the ribs really stood out to me. They were fall off the bone deliciousness!!

I wanted to give this place 3.5 stars, but couldn't. I ordered the following. Nachos with beef brisket chili- super good, brisket is tender and juicy and adds good flavor. Burnt ends- super sweet, tender, just too sweet. Brisket-Pretty dry, not really a fan. Spare ribs- good bark and hickory flavor, pretty tender inside. Mac n cheese - Not bad, not the best but not the worst. Sweet potato- Little too sweet for me Service: good Overall: it's ok, but keep in mind everything here tends to be on the super sweet side. The mvp is definitely the nachos with brisket chili, i highly recommend that. Everything else is hit or miss.

A few unique items on the menu, like mini donuts, as well as more standard fare. They offer combos all day and conveniently have smaller sizes available on appetizers. Duck Sauce: Big bucket of industrially prepared packets by the ordering window. Not a good sign. I grabbed a few and also asked for duck sauce in the bag. The cook pointed to the bucket. "You don't also have real duck sauce?" He reluctantly put two mini containers (same color) in the bag. The stuff in the container tastes like orange, watered down but thick. The packet version tasted similar but with more chemicals. Offputting to say the least. Both tasted like Triaminic cold and allergy syrup. Frankly, I think I'd rather have the Triaminic. Boneless Ribs: Went with a small order that generously filled a plastic pint container. Well glazed, brick red color, very nice char, and a mixture of sizes and textures (some moist, some dry). The glaze seems primarily a mix of standard red and either hoisin or brown Chinese barbecue paste, plus a fragrant component I can't place. Appealing in short spurts. Above average. Orange Chicken (on a combo): Standard bumpy pieces with standard crunch, with the chicken underneath neither moist nor dry. Generic, mild sauce: faintly sweet, faint orange flavor, no heat, no orange peel, no complementary components. Plenty of pieces, but roughly average; maybe a bit below. Egg Roll (on the combo): On the small side, nicely segregated in a glassine bag. Crunchy both outside and in, with a filling of celery-cabbage-pork mix, with very noticeable seasonings reminiscent of Vietnamese egg rolls. A little on the dry side. The good news: easily remedied with duck sauce. The bad news: it's THAT duck sauce. All things considered, average. Pork Fried Rice (on the combo): Yellow, very plain, and neither moist nor dry, but closer to dry. Lingering hints of herbal flavor, though mostly just very plain. Small pieces of pork not that noticeable or helpful. Well below average. I won't call Hunan Place "bad," since everyone's palate is different. Someone who grew up in that part of New England may love it. Let's just say I wasn't feeling this place. With very yellow rice and very orange duck sauce, I have a feeling I won't be alone.

"Hey Antonio," Foo says, "I'll have a cheeseburger, medium, no bacon, fries is okay." As Antonio put down my Manhattan I told him that I was at 22 Bowen's and ran into Chef Eric. Antonio said Eric invented the grind ratios for the Slow Rhode burgers. "Well, Foo believes you best burger in city. Not in state but in city," said Foo. Antonio said, "Who best in state?" Foo, me, the reviewer of the review leaned back in the barstool, looked around the funky ambiance space, and stroked the long scraggly beard Foo tries to grow and said, "I believe best burger is Clarke Cooke House on English muffin with the Gorgonzola." Foo yelled while giving daps and hugs to Antonio all while jamming a massive stack of grat, all tens, into his pocket and yelling, "My name Foo!" and disturbing the nice people at Slow Rhode. Luckily, there was a perfect corner of the bar had just opened & we grabbed the seats. The atmosphere was convivial, upbeat & super comfortable, despite the crowd. Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!
