Inside out: has parking and accessible entry. The inside is decorated in a down to earth country vibe. When he went, it was a little bit earlier in the day so it wasn't that crowded or loud, I was with a group of older adults up to 93 and they all liked the decorations. Service: genuinely fast and friendly, no complaints. Food: our family got a variety of meats, ribs, and as the veggie of the group, I simply got a baked potato. The baked potato was delicious. I would highly recommend, as having a variety of baked potatoes in many joints - for that's all often all I can get. I can say that this is probably in the top three for potatoes. The barbecue sauces were delicious! Overall: it was a great place for a family dinner and a larger group, the prices seemed pretty reasonable. Maybe the higher end of reasonable but still good. I'm pretty sleepy when I'm writing this, but I hope it makes sense and you go give it a try!

I just want to say that everyone in the restaurant was very friendly. Our server Frank was amazing, he was attentive and was able to talk. The food though, left some to be had. I had order the two Meats and two sides. The meats were Tri tip and smoked turkey. The Tri tip was dry and rough. I felt like the turkey was put through a slicer, so it made me question how it was made. The turkey was pretty good though. Very moist. The loaded garlic mashed was delicious along with the biscuits. My friend got the sampler platter, those spicy sausages were pretty spicy , but very good. The biscuits were the main show though. They were absolutely delicious.

3 meat plate with Brisket, cheddar jalapeño sausage, and pulled pork. Loaded baked potato and onion rings.

WOW brisket you can cut with a fork!! So tender and juicy no need for sauce!!! Juicy flavorful pulled pork, and cheddar jalapeño sausage. Oh and a baked potato and onion rings. The waitress was great she checked in made sure I didn't need anything but not in the way. Sunday early dinner it was pretty quiet and mellow. I recommend this spot to all BBQ lovers that want flavor ahead of sauce.

The ribs disappeared faster than the Apple Crisp!

Food was very good. Ribs were over sauced but good. Ambience is great and service was fantastic. We had an enjoyable experience.

Ribs were great. Meaty and juicy. We ordered a rack and ate it twice for dinner. More than we could eat in one meal.

The menu has a few things you can order from burritos, tacos, tortas and other fun items. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it has rice, beans, meat of choice & lettuce and avocado it was pretty good. We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..

This may be a solid option for Boise, but in my personal opinion on being a foodie, this is possible for tacos. I ordered the chicken, steak (asada), and pork (carnitas). They all came out individually in little paper boats, which was cool. The flavor were decent, but I wouldn't say authentic. They did not serve rice there. I did order chips and salsa. I was disappointed that the salsa looks like Pace Picante. Service was excellent and the place was clean. Overall, a good place to eat, but if you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos, that has to be other places around here.

Atmosphere & Community Impact The vibe at this Broadway Ave location is undeniably cool. The industrial, "sticker-covered warehouse" aesthetic feels authentic to the local scene, and the outdoor covered patio is a major highlight. On a nice evening, the rustic charcoal fire pit adds a great communal warmth that makes you want to linger with friends. A particularly unique touch is the collection of military patches displayed along the bar area, which adds a personal, respectful character to the space. However, I found it quite surprising that while the decor clearly honors the military, they do not currently offer a standard military or veteran discount. For a place that wears its support on its sleeve, it felt like a bit of a disconnect for us vets. The Tacos: A Deep Dive We sampled a wide variety from the menu, and here is how they stacked up: #5 Picadillo ($3.00): Our absolute favorite. The spicy ground beef was perfectly balanced with soft potatoes and green chilis. It had a "home-cooked" depth of flavor that really stood out--I'd come back just for a tray of these. #7 Beef Fajita ($3.50): A very close second. The grilled steak had a nice spicy kick and was topped with well-charred onions and fresh cilantro. The meat quality was excellent. #1 Pulled Pork ($3.00): This taco was "not bad," but the ratio felt a bit off. The pickled red onions, while bright and fresh, were a little overpowering and tended to mask the flavor of the shredded pork and cotija cheese. #14 Baja Shrimp ($3.50): Unfortunately, this was the low point of the meal. While the chile lime batter sounded promising, the shrimp itself was significantly overcooked and tough. It was difficult to chew, and I ultimately couldn't finish it. Overall Verdict Tin Roof Tacos offers great value and a fantastic casual environment. If you stick to the beef options--especially that Picadillo--you're in for a treat. I'll likely skip the seafood next time, but the atmosphere and beef tacos are enough to earn a return visit.

After 2 more meals, I'm pulling back the rest of the menu to 3 stars. Meal of a beef tomal and azada enchalada with beans and rice. The beef tomal was pretty flavorless. The azada in the enchilada was the same used in the street taco, so it was really good. But then generic enchalada sauce, basic refried beans, and rice that was so dry there were crunchies - but not like the good, flavorful, caramelized paella crunchy. Asked the manager if they made the tomals because it was a way different beef flavor, and she insisted "yes." She was very disengaged, but at least I saw someone in the dining room cleaning the tables. Second meal was a pork tomal and lingua enchilada with beans and rice. Pork was better than the beef. There were a couple bites of the lingua that seemed... a little off, like it was old. Same beans, but at least the rice this time wasn't as dehydrated. The person attending the counter seemed to have an attitude and didn't feel like he wanted to be there. Never saw any of the tables wiped off in my 45 minutes there for lunch. So, street tacos - fantastic. Everything else so far, basic Mexican fare.
