I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants good BBQ, stay in line it's worth it!!! Everyone who works there was super kind and helpful. The meat was amazing and I loved the variety of sides available to choose from. My husband and I tried the pulled pork, ribs, and tri-tip and all of it was awesome! Loved how they had the inside set up. The only photo I got was of the pickle bar which I was super excited about as a huge pickle lover, would've got a photo of the food but we dug in and finished so quick. Also! Anyone complaining about meat being sold out for the day and giving it a low review has never been to a good bbq place before!! We went in for dinner and saw so many open tables, so we were really surprised when the sign said it was a 40+ minute wait. Someone came around with paper menus and basically said to figure out what we wanted because you order at the end of the line and then are seated. I don't feel like that is the most time efficient or the best customer service way to run things, especially if you have elderly or people with health conditions standing in line for 40+ minutes just so they can order then find a seat. I can't even give a rating on the food because we left and went elsewhere. We will try again at some point when it's not so busy and the line wait is less time. Upon entering the doorway, we saw a 40 minute waiting sign, & then a 30 minute sign, well before ordering our food. (We waiting for 75 minutes, BUT it was worth it!!!) First time visit on 08/20. They've done a lot of work to this place to get it up and running, dealing with red tape as well. Very nice decor and ordering setup. There is a drink station with refills. For any adult beverages, one must go to the bar. There is a pickle bar to pick up all sorts of pickled nibbles to add to the meal. The squeeze and I shared a two meat plate with baked beans and fried pickles, meats were fatty brisket and smoked linguica. The granddaughter got lean brisket with fried pickles and mac & cheese. First, the flavors were great with good smoke flavor. Now the negatives, with honest feedback on a newly established BBQ joint. I gave four stars as I know they will have room for growth, but it was a three. First and foremost, the fatty brisket was extremely fatty, about 50% was a hunk of fat. I asked for it, but I've never seen a fat band that big, see pic. I'd have to look at the meat before I decide on that again, or I'll go lean. The beans had great flavor, but were a tad dry. The fried pickles were very good. My granddaughter said the Mac & Cheese was just warm, I did not try it . The entire staff was great. Hopefully, our next meal there will be outstanding. read more

Been seeing this place all over the internet and finally gave it a shot! Couldn't make up on my mind as the whole menu looks delicious, but decided to go with something easy, the "Smoked Brisket Burger". Patty was huge, hard to believe it's only half a pound but man it was juicy, tender and absolutely fantastic. Crinkle cut fries as a side was a solid choice; although, I could've used some more! Tried phoning in an order for pick up, but the staff said they aren't set up for that yet. I ended up driving there to place the order and waited about 25 minutes. Will be going back to try some sit down food. read more

I had high expectations of this place because of the social media hype but unfortunately, hype is all it was. I wanted this place to be good since I live in Nampa. Nampa is lacking in decent restaurants and both my husband and I were excited to see a place open in the downtown area. We got here early because I saw on instagram that the lines could be long so we arrived before opening. My first impression of the place was positive. They have a large dining area that had a fun BBQ vibe. But that's where it kinda ended. You go up to order your food at this small ordering station then stand in line cafeteria style while they plate your food. It was slow and painful to watch since the sides were dished up first and the line was going slow because the guy cutting the meat was slow, meticulously weighing every portion. By the time we got to our table our food was cold. The meat was dry and needed bbq sauce to give it flavor. I will say their sauces were good. The Mac and cheese... go back to the drawing board with that one--very bland. The crinkle fries were cold. Maybe they just need to tweak a few things and I'll give them some time before trying this place again. read more

After two visits the truth must be told. Excellent staff with all the right intentions, love the interior, but that is all derailed by a flawed kitchen workflow process. Sides have always been cold or just shy of warm at best. They are plated well in advance of your meat being served and honestly the meat isn't much warmer. The flavors are all good, but at $21 for a 6oz portion of meat and two sides, I'd expect something that's better than a substandard cafeteria line experience. read more

Impressive... Upon first walking in there was a line about 20 deep for Friday lunch (good sign). The layout and decor of the restaurant was really nice and inviting. While waiting in line a staff member came along handing out menu's while we waited to help speed up the process. Once we got to the front of the line we chose a 1 meat plate (pulled pork) with the slaw and potato salad as the sides & a 2 meat plate with ribs and linguica with potato salad and the brisket beans. Moving along the line and watching them cut up the meat fresh in front of you is a nice touch and just makes the drooling more prevalent. Once we chose a table we went back to the "Pickle" condiment bar, which had various different types of pickles, pickled onions & beets. What a nice touch. The pulled pork was very flavorful, the ribs were my favorite of the meat choices we had (they were really good). The sides were equally as good, my favorite was the brisket beans (absolutely amazing). Next time brisket will be on my list as well as the smoked turkey (that looked great at another table). Overall a great experience and quality food, the staff was very polite and inviting, from the line to the ones walking around keeping things clean. If you like BBQ, give them a try. The food is absolutely incredible, when it is even available. There are many times I've gone and have been unable to try their brisket as they sell out quite quickly due to its popularity! I would love to get there earlier but my work schedule makes it difficult. The people and the atmosphere are amazing and the owner is genuinely a kind person with a passion for service along with his staff. I look forward to hopefully trying the brisket soon. read more

I love a good BBQ and this one is it!!! Excellent food, clean restaurant and the customer service is top notch. But again the BBQ was incredible! We had the brisket and tri tip. This place is new. 3 weeks in and we waited 1.5 hours to get our food. The food didn't disappoint! Best brisket I have ever had! I at brisket + mac n cheese and pickles of course. My husband had the 3 meat plate with ribs, brisket and the linguica + the dill coleslaw + beans. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. Everything was amazing. Loved the spicy bbq sauce also. We were very sad that we could not enjoy the huckleberry bread pudding. This business is still working out the kinks with stocking enough food to last the full day but I am sure that will work out soon. We loved the style of the place, the vibe, the staff and the food. This is a welcome place to our town. They did an out standing job of building the interior and you know as you arrive that you made a good choice to visit. The smells of great BBQ are everywhere. Select anything on the menu, as everyone I talked to said they loved their meal. The noise level inside is comfortable, so you can talk to your friends. Ordering is the only down side, as you wait thru the line. Seating at lunch was no problem on the main floor, and they have upstairs as well. Speaking of the man floor.... who else has a peddle powered player piano but these guys. I'll have to see if it works - on my next visit. We will be back! read more

This place is absolutely the best bbq I've had in all of the west coast. Delicious meats, great sides and the sauce is perfect. Fast service as long as there isn't a line. You walk up to the desk and they take your order. Then you go down the line and watch them prepare your order. The restaurant inside is dialed. The grain bin bar is very cool. We were very excited to try this new restaurant, we arrived at 2:30 and we were told they were already out of Brisket, then we got in line waited 20 min to get up to the counter to order and we were told there was no more Ribs, Sausage, or Brisket. So needless to say, we were stuck with turkey or pulled pork? We ordered the pulled pork and turkey, the pulled pork was fatty, the turkey was good for not having any available red meat. Our sides were basically rationed like they were running out of food, literally a four bite side. I ordered a 9 ounce side of coleslaw to go and I got half of the container. Then we went to the pickle bar and four of the pickled condiments were empty, so l let the employees know they needed to refill their condiments. We are hoping this is just a one time experience, since they are new. read more

So i have to say the food was really good, love the set up. what i do feel is a small issue is the line. not that's its a bad thing, but we sat down at a table and had people all around us in line. people leaning on our chairs and right up against us while we tried to eat. and not really there fault. i would remove the few tables at the front of the store and put in a walkway for the people waiting in line. and that will give room for the people eating. or have the line go out side and along the window. service was good, portions were good, cost was good. i say win win. Overpriced, small portions. They served a slice of white bread, nothing special with the plate. Ordered 3 meats. This didn't stretch far between 2.5 people. Brisket was dry. Sides were nothing to rave about- Macaroni salad had no flavor and the coleslaw was soggy and vinegary. Ice machine kept getting stuck, long lines....The pickle bar was the best thing about this place. Oh well...I hear there are other local BBQ places to try. Made it just in time for one of the last briskets available for the day! They are new and are adjusting the amount they make as the demand grows so we understand as they sell-out early! We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and fries. The meat was tender and juicy, the spicy bbq sauce amazing, and the pickle bar had great spicy dills. In the future, I'd love to see the pickle bar stocked a little better, but all in all we enjoyed our time and multiple workers approached us to ask if we needed anything and if we had any feedback on the food/experience. Next time, we want to try the huckleberry dessert - it looked delicious! read more

This is the best BBQ restaurant in the Treasure Valley. It isn't perfect, and maybe closer to 4 stars, but compared to other BBQ in the valley, the BBQ meat is the best. The brisket was right on; beefy, tender, and just the right amount of smoke. Texas style flavor. The pitmaster nailed it. Any sauce on this is a waste of excellent meat and effort. Speaking of sauces, the spicy and non-spicy sauces are a very good cross between Texas and KC sauce styles, with NO liquid smoke (Why do some BBQ restaurants have smoke in the sauce? Is their pit not working? The St Louis ribs had very good pork and smoke flavor, but were a little dry. The BBQ beans, like the brisket were excellent. The mac-n-cheese needed some salt, and some creamy cheese. It was by far the worst thing I ate. The banana pudding is a very good vanilla pudding with some toffee, and with microscopic amounts of banana and no discernible nilla wafers. Who makes banana pudding without nilla wafers and bananas? And with an $8 price tag. I suggest making a $4 cup half as big and actually have nanas and wafers in it. The people are nice and friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is large and clean and comfortable. There is a line, but it keeps moving, into the standard cafeteria style, cutting block and pay area, and they bus the tables for the guests. They are brand new, so expect a a few hiccups, but it's a very good start. read more
