This was a doozy of a visit. We've been putting off buying tires for months but finally got a deal through USAA and pulled the trigger to get a new set. I originally had an appointment on Memorial Day but called to ask to have it the next day and was told no problem. I asked how long the service would be and was told an hour and a half. When I show up for my appointment there was two workers and no wait to take my car back. After 2 hours they asked if I wanted an alignment- I agreed so I knew it would take longer, but at 2 hours we are already past the time I was originally told for service. Everything together took about 3.5 hours- I was there from 9am to 12:30pm. The staff is friendly, but maybe a little too friendly. The manager came and sat with me in the little waiting area and wanted to talk. and talk. and talk some more. It would have been fine as a courtesy for 10-15 minutes but for nearly the entire three hours he wanted to talk about everything from food, religion, dating and his health issues. **WARNING* this goodyear tire store IN RENTON is consistently negligent and will cost you time and money. I have been a loyal Goodyear customer for 40 years. But the product and services have been sharply declining with little/no concern from the stores or corporate (similar issues that resulted in the fall of Sears & Roebuck). On schedule, I had my tires rotated on 3/3/25 at the Renton highlands store where they did not replace the center cap securely on one of the wheels. It fell off and the store had zero interest in taking responsibility. So, I wrote to Kimberly Roy at Goodyear Corporate who pushed the company into paying $83 for the lost cap that I had to replace. THEN, I had my tires rotated again at this same store on 11/6/25. Same manager and same problem with poor workmanship. Shortly after this rotation, one of the caps fell off, again! I reported it to the manager (Jorge) who would not take responsibility, so I wrote to Kimberly Roy again. This time, neither the store, nor corporate were willing to take responsibility, probably thinking "I" was the problem. I replaced the cap as quickly as possible and TODAY, May 4, 2026, the cap still rides securely in its place (picture attached, taken May 2, 11:10 am). I stopped buying tires from Goodyear because of horrible service and products. Les Schwab, a truly great customer service company with great tires and warranties, recently offered to rotate my "Goodyear" tires for free because I bought truck tires from them and will buy Les Schwab tires for my Buick as well when needed. Incidentally, one of the Goodyear tires on my Buick also must have a bad cable or other defect, because neither Goodyear nor Les Schwab can get the vibration out of it. The Goodyear shop "claims" they cannot feel the vibration and refused to replace the tire. I have been extremely impressed with the service and tires at Les Schwab. Goodyear is not paying attention and does not care. Aboslute garbage experience. Came in to see if I could get my tires repaired for a clear manufacturers defect. I waited in the lobby for 20 minutes before someone showed up. They said they couldn't help me and I'd have to call the 800 number to get anything done. I called in and finally got a ticket number to give to the guy inside. He looked at my tires for 5 minutes, said he'd file the report and they'd call me. He left. A week later I hadn't heard anything so called in and found out they never even submitted the report. Then after sitting on the phone for over 30 minutes they decided to say that the damage caused by a curb. I'm so glad these off road tires aren't capable of handling a curb without completely peeling apart--I guess taking them off pavement is completely out of the question. Made an 11 am appointment, dropped my vehicle off 5 minutes early and left to get food at a sit down place... came back and the guys goes "they haven't pulled your car in yet" and I said "but I had an 11am appointment and you said nothing of being behind". I ask how long it will be and don't get a straightforward answer so I LEFT. I watched them pull another vehicle in as I was walking up to pick my vehicle up but still no idea when mine can be serviced? Great manager! Very honest. We went to discount tire for a flat and they told us it was unrepairable and we'd need 4 tires since I have an AWD vehicle. I wanted to check the warranty since my tires were Goodyear, just to check. Not in warranty BUT the manager insisted on helping us and was actually able to repair the tire! Saved us thousands. It had a special deal with non synthetic oil of 25 dollars. I made an appointment and when I got there they told me they could not honor that a d wanted 85 dollars. Took my car in to get upper and lower ball joint fixed by the store manager Jessie and his crews on 7/12/25 when they finished I paid for it . As I started driving down the road heard this metal griddling drove back to the shop they put it back on the lift and trying to fixed it and told me it was fixed next day I drove to work heard the loudest metal griddling not only I didn't get the ball joints fixed right but now my car ended up with metal griddling and they don't know how they fucked up my car. The next day I called the shop and took it back they said they don't know what's wrong with it. When I asked one of the mechanicI he told me that they don't know what's wrong they're just guessing what to fixed because they fucked up my car.. He needs more training on how to fix cars so he could train his crew how to do it right period. All Jessie says to me is that he's sorry that they fucked up my car. Sorry doesn't cut it now that I have to spent money to get it fix by a professional who actually know how to fix cars. I wouldn't recommend this place period. Just like any establishment you frequent it's the people that makes the difference. Fabian at Goodyear has repeatedly proven to be a stand up guy. We started coming here when my wife's car got a rock wedge between the rotors and was making a terrible noise. The guys at Goodyear checked it out for free and fixed the issue with no charge. Over time I started having them work on little things and have not yet been disappointed. Because of their initial act of kindness, they've done over $1k worth of service and have earned future business from me and my family. My daughter will be starting to drive soon and I have no problem telling her to take her car here and talk to Fabian because I trust him do to the right thing. My wife also likes that there is a woman there who has worked on our car. They don't do major engine repair work but for maintenance stuff/minor things they are great! read more

It pains me to leave a bad review of this place, but I feel I have to... if you value the safety of your family, do not go to this place. I have bought multiple sets of tires here and done multiple oil changes. This place used to be great. However, I recently needed new brakes on my car. The guy quoted me $1600 for all four and said they could have them done on Thursday. Perfect! They did the work, I picked up the car at 12pm on Thursday and drove it home. The car sat until about 4pm on Friday when I started a longer drive up north. About 1 hour into the drive, I felt the brakes getting mushy. I didn't know if it was my imagination or what, but I decided to pull off even though I was late for the ferry. Fortunately, I did. The brake fluid low warning light began flashing at me as I pulled into the McDonald's. Sure enough, the fluid was low. I then had to pay $150 for a Lyft for 70 miles for my wife and daughter, and get the car towed back home. I had AAA so the tow was free, but I was out the hotel night, and my daughter and wife lost out on time spent with their relatives. The car sat in my driveway for a couple of days as I did the trip in my other car. On Tuesday, the brake fluid container was bone dry. I got it towed up to Goodyear and told them what happened, and that I was out $500. They simply said sorry and that they'd do the warranty repair. Two days later, the manager called me at 5:30 just as they were closing to tell me it was done. No apologies, no explanation of what went wrong, nothing. Just, hey come up and get your car. No offer to reimburse any expenses, give me a refund, or anything. No offer even to give me a discount on a future purchase as an apology for the inconvenience caused! Given that the brake fluid was leaking on the freeway in stop and go traffic, it is not an exaggeration to say that the brakes endangered the well-being of my family. And I was never even given an explanation of what went wrong. I am supposed to trust that they are "fixed" now. I'm probably going to be out another $100 or so to take it to a mechanic to verify that it was actually done right. My honest guess is that they just didn't test their work before giving me back the car. I find it hard to believe everything was working perfectly on Thursday and magically started leaking on Friday. I have no evidence of this, but I'll bet money they were negligent. This review kills me to do because I really enjoyed having this shop close and I love Goodyear products. But the facts are the facts. I should not have trusted them with such critical components on my car. read more

I was given service on 3/8/23 for an oil change and tire rotation. As a Lyft driver, I drive a lot and the service rep. talked me out of a tire rotation as he said it wasn't needed. I've never heard that before, his excuse was that my front tires have less tread than the back tires so it's not suggested. However, my tires needed it, it felt off so I went to Les Schawb to make sure my air pressure was good and after checking he said the air pressure was fine, but I was badly in need of my tires being rotated....Like I thought! They did it for free as I got my tires through them, but it was a long wait and it costed me down time of waiting for 4 hours. I feel like suing Goodyear Renton for a days wage lost as it cost me lost opportunity when I went to them to get it done right and waiting for Les Schawb to correct what they failed to do. Renton Goodyear is NOT WORTH GOING TO! I am angry that they are now listed as the only service provider in the Lyft app for a service discount. I may be forced to still give goodyear my business but the one in Renton won't have my business. I'll drive further to avoid being lied to about my tires not needing rotation. read more

Had an issue with my car, called several places unfortunately due to it being Christmas Eve everyone was completely booked. I called and spoke to Josh who was also booked, I was so upset but within 10 mins after hanging up I received a call and long behold it was Josh who had a cancellation and was able to get me in. He was so helpful and was able to fix my car. Customer service was amazing!!! He went above and beyond to help me. I'm from California I was completely lost, he was such a blessing!!! This location has some really nice folks. I had a 3:00 apt to get my oil changed. I walked in and no one was at the counter because all the mechanics were super busy. What I really appreciated was that as soon as Scott saw me come in - he came to the counter and said "I'll be with you in a few mins". I really like when people recognize me when I enter and don't ignore me until it's my turn. Makes me feel valued! My oil change went smoothly, I believe my car was looked at for more than 15 mins unlike most other places I go to so that made me feel like they were being really thorough. However I wasn't expecting it to take two hours from when I arrived to when I left. I'm not sure if they are always running late/slow or if this was a special occasion (first time here) but I was a little frustrated towards the end that it took that long. When I finally did get my keys Scott gave me a discount because it took so long and I really appreciated that. With the compensation for having to wait and the friendliness of the staff I'd give it a 5 as far as where to get your oil changed! I've gone to a lot of places and most places are the same, this one is one of the few I like. However - I'd recommend they get some snacks in the lobby for the customers who were there longer than me! I was hungry when i left and most places have something people can eat! :) read more

So the quick version is, I needed emergency tire repair, I bought two new tires at a reasonable price and the work was done quickly and efficiently and within the estimated time they quoted me. If that was all there was to the story I'd probably give them 4 stars. However if you want to know why they they have a measely 1 star rating, read on... The day after Labor Day while starting my drive to work I discovered I had a very very flat tire. Rather than pull over and unload all the camping equipment that still filled the trunk to the brim to get to the spare, I decided to slowly roll the car to the nearest place that could possibly repair it, which happened to be Goodyear on Union. I would actually have preferred to go to Les Schwab but didn't feel I could risk driving another mile on the rim. Even driving 100 yards was pretty iffy, but I made it. Goodyear was just opening up and the store manager seemed very helpful at first as he hustled around to get the place ready for the day's business. Now as any hungry tire salesman is wont to do, he tried to talk me into replacing all 4 tires without even telling me if my single flat tire could be fixed. He also tried to slip a $52 "tire protection" package into the bill without telling me a thing about it until I asked about it specifically - minus 1 star for sleazy sales tactics! I knew the tires were somewhat worn but I really haven't looked at them in a while so I told him I would be right back, I wanted to go take a look at them before making a decision. That was when he made his second (2 star) mistake: the chauvinistic jerk actually laughed at me! Heartily! As if the very thought of me making a valid judgement as to the state of my tires was ludicrous. Like I was supposed to just trust him and plunk down $400 on his say so... when all I had was one flat tire... how ridiculous is that? I of course ignored his laughter and went out and looked at my tires. I decided I would replace the front two now and the back two later, as they still have some miles left in them. Naturally he was less than thrilled with my decision, but he put the work order in and got the job done. When it came time to pay the bill, the manager guy was no where to be found, and after waiting about 15 minutes I finally stepped purposefully into the garage, which had the effect I desired of immediately bringing a service person over to assist me (and keep me out of the work area - they are so sensitive about that! Hehehe...). He located the manager for me and $200 later, I was out the door and back on the road to work. But I'll tell you what... I am for sure not going to get those back two tires replaced at Goodyear, and I wouldn't recommend any woman going there for service unless you are prepared to be insulted and not-so-subtly bullied into trusting someone else's judgement over your own! Quick service just doesn't make up for a lack of respect... I'll take Les Schwab any day! read more

Walked into this establishment today. Happy to see there were no cars in the parking lot and One in the bay. Walked in because of squeaky breaks. Simple and easy. So I thought. 3 people working and 1 car. Im told they are busy for the day. He didn't follow up with I can get you in tomorrow or anything remotely close to wanting to earn by business. Being that they were a tire shop that struck me as odd. knowing I needed some higher end work done. I wanted to see how I was treated with something simple. Fail. i walked away happy I didn't make a appt for the last day. It was a brake check and no guaranteed money. He was not interested in my business. brought my rental car in for a oil change at opening 730am appointment after 2hrs of waiting was approached and told my car needed tires as tread depth was at 4/32nd and they could not release vehicle back to me till tires were changed and I refused and calmy said I will return car to rental place and get another and manager still refused and said he will call my place of employment(ride share) and get me fired for being "unruly" (his words) he procceded to say he called rental place and approval to change both tires and not give car back to me so I called rental agency and my employer to tell them what's going on and my employer advised me to call the police as they cannot hood my car hostage till I change tires that are not legally required to change until it gets down to 2/32nds as per state law. and the rental agency rooms they did not tell anyone return the car back to me as in my rental agreement I can refuse any unscheduled maintenance and exchange the car for one thats good to go and so I called Renton pd and 3 officers showed up and told me there is nothing they can do for me as it is a civil matter and said goodluck and left at this point I've been here from 730am till about 2pm when the officers drove off then about 30 minutes later after calling my employer agsim to to let them know what the cops said the manager comes up to me and tells me to get out of the lobby and that I was not welcome inside keep in mind I have not yelled or said any profanity I was calm and respectful to all I said sure no problem and went outside and proceeded to call my employer again then about 4-430 I see the car getting pulled out of the bay and parked tech gave paperwork to manager inside and after 15 minutes manager comes out and throws the paperwork and keys on the concrete and told me to get out of here N-word with hard R. i procceedd to pick up the keys and paperwork and didn't react to his racist remark and went to my car and read the paperwork and after all of this they only replaced one tire and a wheel stud that was broken by en emoloyeee on a 2023 model car 19k miles The whole ordeal was just unbelievable. i am currently seeking legal console. Hopefully this will help others stay clear of Goodyear in Renton store 8831. read more

Instead of greeting me when I walked in to tell me he had to check on something in the shop, where there was one car and 3 other technicians, he left me standing for 10 minutes while he talked to staff in the garage. My experience at this Goodyear went smoothly. I went for an oil change and tire rotation with a coupon I recieved in the mail. The work done to my van was great, and they finished in a timely manner. Instead I vouched for a Monday appointment to get my oil change for a discounted rate of $49.99 (base price). I am not one to normally leave reviews, but I just wanted to let people know what a positive experience I had getting tires. I had needed tires for sometime and wanted to purchase a new set because I am relocating all the way across the country. I had been calling around for tires, but most places didn't have my size in stock. I called was quoted a price. I decided to do the work, they ordered the tires. Had them next day like they promised. I actually went a day later to get the tires and they were cool with that. Now I asked them when the best time to go was to get in and out. I was told that they couldn't promise anything, time wise, but offered to check the schedule so I could come in at possibly the slowest time. I let them know that I didn't care how long it took, but I would have to wait. I had my dog with me and found a neat trail to walk on. My day was awful, Had been dealing with crazy craigslist people trying to give stuff away for free for two days. Trying to get ready and drive across the country at the last minute. than my dog got out of his collar and almost got hit by a car. he is not dead because i was able to grab him by the neck and throw him to the ground. Than I got the news he had lyme disease and may have permanent kidney damage. On the way back I got lost and was nervous about the dog because he had basically shut down on our walk. I mean i thought I was gonna lose it. I called and asked about how long just because I didn't want to get back until the car was ready. I was told we just got the car in probably another hour, but defiantly no longer than 1.5 hours. Me and the dog sat by this neat stream. (before we got lost) I actually got back even getting lost at right around that hour and a half. Car was ready, threw the workers a nice tip and couldn't be happier. I only mention everything else that happened because this wound up being maybe the worst day of my life. With everyone stressed over covid this day really could have went real bad. ***DO NOT GO HERE*** I only chose Goodyear bc it's so close to my house. I called the main customer service number to ask how much a tire rotation costs, and they said it was free w/any synthetic oil change and that they can look at my lights and do an inspection free. Great! That sounded exactly what I needed so I made an appnt for that day. The store location called me back to say the appnt wouldn't work and asked if I could come in an hour earlier. Since I had him on the phone, I wanted to verify that the rotation was free. He said no, and that he had no idea what I was talking about. Um, ok? That was weird. So I called the main number again and they said, don't worry, it is free, and they even called the store to let them know. I thought that was great cust. service. So I went to the store and the main guy, Tony, said it would be done in about an hour, so I left and got some lunch. He called 5min later to say that it would cost $105 to even have my lights looked at, not worked on... LOOKED AT and that they CAN'T rotate my tires bc the front ones are too bald, but don't worry, I can buy some more. Sounded pretty shady. After lunch I walked back and he said that the cheapest the tires would cost would be $250, which included inspection, rotation, installation, blah blah. I said that;s not that cheap. He said well it includes everything. Doesn't it ALWAYS come w/everything? Most ppl don't put the tires on themselves. I told him I would think about it and then I went outside to get my car bc he said it would be ready in a couple min. I stood there and watched as the mechanic looked at my car totally puzzled. The main mechanic guy asked Tony to come out and to try to turn the car on. So I asked what was wrong. Tony turned to me and said I had a weak battery. A weak battery? What do you mean by that I asked. Will it not turn on? He said it runs, it's just weak. Ok...so what do you mean? He walked off and the mechanic said, it's fine, I just left the auxiliary on the whole time so it drained the battery. Who the hell does that!? I was really unimpressed by their lack of knowledge and their shady sales tactics. I will NEVER buy tires from them, nor will I let them touch my car! My Honda started backfiring.Took it to Goodyear where I've had good honest work done in the past. But there are new guys at the desk and in the shop. While explaining car symptoms to a clerk, he gets one of the mechanics to come in and listen. Immediately the mech looks at me as if I'm a piece of dirt (for no reason at all, except maybe for being a single minority female with a business logo on her vehicle). They code the car, & do a print-out stating the CO2 sensor, fuse box & fuel switch all need immediate equal repair. A clerk calls Honda, who tells him the load baring sensor doesn't come separate from the fuse box and I need the whole thing at $400 plus $25 to over-night it. Add $200 labor and an all-day wait. Okay fine. Was told the fuse box might be affecting the CO2 sensor which a clerk insisted was causing the backfire. End of the day, pick up the car being told the mech test-drove it with no backfiring symptoms. Great. Saturday morning car IS still backfiring! Called clerk who said come back to recode. Although there were other cars in the bays, I sat almost an hour with no help while the snotty mech and a few others walked around snacking or on a break when it ONLY TAKES A MINUTE TO CODE A CAR. Finally I left with no help, took the car to my oil change guys from whom I got a code number. Monday morning on my way to work, car IS backfiring, worse than before. Missed a half day of work bring car back to Goodyear. They pulled the car into the bay, chained off and got the code reader out. I walked UNDER the chain, stood there with pen and paper in hand and said "I want to see the code too." Luckily it matched what the oil change guy gave me. I took the opportunity to tell the mech who suantered over munching on popcorn "You've given me looks since I walked in here. I don't bite." He gives a sarcastic giggle like, "Whatever f* you lady." The clerk who insisted a week earlier that the CO2 sensor was the problem, stumbled over words to justify why the new code does NOT show it's the CO2. End of the day and almost $500 more, the solenoid is replaced and they throw in a free oil change. Great. Yay. Car running okay (so far). So- Did I really NEED the initial $600 fuse box at all??? LESSON LEARNED: Make the techs SHOW YOU THE f***n CODES before they tell you what they "think" it is or tell you to pay for something that it ISN'T. And as a woman, always be proactive when in doubt. It's better to be whatever they want to call you, than a doormat being robbed of hard-earned $$$$! Even though I live walking distance from this place, I'll be taking my car to the much friendlier, organized and honest FIRESTONE from now on. Sorry Goodyear....you've changed... read more

A few hours after I left the shop my car started running hot, luckily I'm shrewd enough to have notice it. I had a mechanic perform a pressure test on my radiator system, and he found that the mechanics at goodyear put a small hole in one of the radiator hoses. That hole expanded and there was coolant all over my engine. This place is desperate, they are sabotaging vehicles as a means to create more business. AVOID THIS PLACE! The oil changes may be cheap but they're cheap because they will set you up and cause damage so they charge you more to fix the problem they caused. read more

The manager Greg is incredibly incompetent. Instead of replacing the valve stems on my 8 year old car when I purchased my tires just last year; he told me he wanted to save me money. $400 is what he wanted to save me. Today I paid $278 dollars to replace two valve stems. $400 would have saved me money. I called Greg two days ago to utilize the warranty on the tires and he told me all was fine, sent me a copy of my purchase receipt and told me I should receive the services. Once inside the shop Greg said that it was expected that I would pay money to replace them. This entire experience has been a headache and has cost me $278. Eventually I will pay $156 MORE than what I would have paid had Greg been straightforward and done good business initially. I wouldn't recommend anyone do business here. Or any goodyear honestly. If you have tpms Firestone also services those cars. If I could give this place no stars that would be the rating. read more

I went in for an oil change and to get my air conditioner fixed. I waited for six hours, they didn't change the oil at all, fixed the Ac momentarily. On my way to the gorge the following day the AC stopped working and leaking. Then when I was driving into the gorge the car stopped working at all, and had to be towed home. The engine seized and the car was no longer usable. They claim it would have happened regardless but it had no problems prior. They only refunded me for the work, yet I was out a car. I called to purchase trailer tires. I wanted marathons and gave the size. I was told "they will be in tomorrow" next day i went to have the tires mounted. I opted to have them mounted elsewhere because elsewhere i saved 25.00. I took the tires and noticed they werent marathons. I asked why and they said there are no more marathons available. They are discontinued and this tire is the direct replacement.. after mounting i went for an air check at discount tire before my road trip and noticed they were looking at the tires and talking. I asked and was told that the two new tires were 65 psi air pressure and the others were 50 lbs due to different load ratings ! I noticed more sway in my trailer and called goodyear about these tires not being a " direct replacement" as told, and the sway issue. I was told to run 50 psi in the 65 psi tires and they would be fine. The sway was still worse than before. I called and pretty much demanded that they get me the tires i asked for or refund my money. Amazingly a pair of marathons are ordered from Texas. After explaining the situation to 4 different people because they cant communicate amone each other the tires were being replaced at the goodyear store in the renton highlands. I go in and normal greetings, tell them what why how again and the 20 minute job is "ordered to be done and i go ahead and wait and wait and wait. Over an hour goes by i stand up and walk to the counter where i am quickly ignored as people behind me are told "hes just waiting can i help you?". I interrupted and said hey now. I could have been told this was going to be over an hour wait. I could have left and come back tomorrow. He then has the nerve to tell me im sorry you feel that way! I stated "its not a feeling it is the truth," i could have come back tomorrow and saved over an hour of waiting and that i needed to drive into seattle and now it was rush hour. He said again im sorry you feel that way, we get to you as fast as we can. Again not addressing the fact they didnt tell me the 20 minute job was going to be over an hour and 15 minutes. I told him that he was behinning to piss me off and he said i could just leave then, with that attitude. I said fine i need to leave anyway. He said the tires were ready as i walked out. The mechanic did just finish them and was rolling them to the garage entrance mounted balanced the works.... I continued to my truck to hear the lobby door open and the hear the worker tell me sarcastically to have a nice day. When i got home i called to inform them i would be picking up my bare rims and i wanted my money back. This is one of the worst customer service experiences ive ever had. I will never ever again buy or go to goodyear for anything. Today is Saturday. the day after and I went in to pick up my rims. they took the tires I was returning and destroyed them yesterday, so they say. but I spoke with the employees there and they were very nice and listened to me. I told them the story and they asked what I would like to do. I told them that as soon as I got an apology from the manager, Jesse, I would proceed with taking the tires. So, Jesse was called and refused to apologize. At that point it became his fault 100% that this would not go through. I find it interesting that they destroy my property and dismount the tires from the rims and expect me to be happy with paying 245.00 for nothing. Now I have to call the corporate office and waste their time explaining this all to them in order to get either an apology or my money back. I cannot believe this Jesse guy is a manager, not only has he treated me like some one in his way he now wants to waste corporate time. I have been taking my car to this location for a few years now and won't take it anywhere else! The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The store manager, Greg offers great customer service and makes sure that his clients are always taken care of. I, myself, do not know much about cars but Greg does a great job using analogies to explain issues with the car and how it works, even bringing me into the shop to physically show me what's wrong with the car and how they are going to fix the issue. I appreciate how the staff makes sure that the customers and guys in the shop are on the same page ensuring complete understanding of the labor being done to your car and what you're paying for!
