I am not the type of person to leave review but this experience has made me feel the need to warn my fellow citizens. We brought our 2011 HHR in to Gemini Goodyear on Andresen, for a coolant flush, oil change and tire rotation. Gordon, the owner was extremely rude, but we assumed it wasn't us and he was just busy. We were told that we needed alot more work done, belts, hoses, cv axles etc. . about services that we needed on our vehicles. When we decided against the extra work because our vehicle had just come off its factory warranty a few months earlier, Gordon became enraged. Told my son who was going to use the restroom to "get out" and took the coffee cup that I had filled during our visit in the waiting area and told me " this is only for paying customers" and told me I needed to leave. If that was the end of it, that would be fine but...in the rush to remove my vehicle from their shop, they neglected to put oil in my vehicle and the oil cap on my engine. So, now unfortunately I have to deal with them again over this issue, i now have a "blown" motor, and need to put an engine in the only vehicle I have. Guess how that's going? Gordon is unwilling to take any responsibility for this and now I am stuck taking public transportatio. I would say that the value of this visit was to not just stop anywhere and to follow your instincts. Talk to people and get opinions on who to trust with your vehicle. read more

Been coming to this place past few years since moving to Gurnee after being recommended by my neighbor. In and out quickly for routine oil changes. I have a 2004 Bmw x5 with about 230k on the engine and they did a tune up and replaced my worn out tires in mid January and my car has been running great since. This place has a comfortable waiting area with couches, pub like tables and tv. For someone like me who gets uncomfortable sitting in public places to long, this place makes it easier. Very clean facility and I was the only patron at 7am. Very organized and appears to be a full service facility. My boss called in prior to me coming to have my tires changed and all went smoothly. Why 3 stars? Because 5 stars is reserved for an executive level experience...their workers were late and the manager simply said, "I'll have the truck taken care of once 'somebody' gets here. If the guys sitting in the front would do some kind of work it would not take an hr to check air. Seem like nice guys but trust me many people need job and would work hard for this place. Sad to see thins here we bought 3 set of tires here my family has had their breaks and tons of things from here. But the last few time have been horrible experience. I'm new to the area and was looking for a new carwash. Something less expensive with an underbody spray to remove the salt from the crazy winters. Pulling up I thought I had found my new place ignoring the typical signs for the not responsible for broken wipers or Radio antennas. Thinking $9 was a good price for a winter car wash I continued pulling through I thought to myself wow it was rough meaning it was really hitting the car hard. When It prompted me to pull away i noticed a lot of soap and water on my car still. Having to fix both my mirrors. I was still thinking this is ok it's $9 it's not a detail. Pulling out I get soaked from my sunroof, the pressure was so hard in the wash it blew in my closed sunroof. A little worried I raced home to check and make sure it was closed and all was good. Walking around my car I find my front license plate folded like a taco, my antenna bent, the metal around my antenna cracked and bent, and my entire car full of soap and water. I will not be returning or recommending any Goodyear for any work or wash. A $9 car wash just costed me A LOT more. read more

I blew a tire on a pothole and pulled into their parking lot 10 minutes after they closed and the alignment guy helped me change it and was extremely nice. Thank you! I'll be going there to get a new one. read more

Took my car here for an oil change and tire rotation with no other issues on Friday March 13th. After service, I picked up my car and upon pulling out of their parking lot I noticed that my steering was very tight, almost as if I had no power steering. I initially thought maybe they did some minor wheel alignment and the issue would slowly fade away but it didn't. Today I bring my car back in explaining the issue only to get a call a half hour later quoting me for $1,900 in required maintenance in order to correct the issue. I was told the rack and pinion and the ball joints (located right near the tires that I had rotated) needed to be replaced. Was this a coincidence or a fault on their end that they were unwilling to admit? I drove my car in with nothing wrong in the steering and left with a very noticeable difference. Coincidence or not, I will not be returning here for any car services. FOLLOW UP: Just got off the phone with a trusted local garage and was told the rack and pinion was working properly with no leaks. The U joint seized up but was fixed and one ball joint on the tie rod had to be replaced with a wheel alignment. Total cost of repair around $550 which includes labor. Goodyear told me nissan wanted $1100 for a rack and pinion (but lucky for me they found an aftermarket one that would "save" me money). My car is repaired for $550 when goodyear wanted $1900 to buy parts that my car did not even need then repair. read more

Great place for service. No one was trying to add additional items or services, had several items done on a van. Car was clean and well taken care of. Went also for oil change which was done quickly and at a great price $20. Very clean waiting area with tv's and a free car wash anytime with service. This place is in Grayslake just North of RT 120 on 45 (next to Burger King). read more

Someone smashed my front bumper and Greg from the Chicago Car Guys recommended this place for the repair the bumper looks like new and it costs less than my insurance deductible to fix it. Very happy! It took them two days and they washed my car prior to me picking it up. Thank you John for the great work! Your too far to go to to service my car regularly but if I need any major work or body work it is worth the drive!! read more

I have been very satisfied. When they fix something, it stays fixed or they make it right. And I dont have something else unexpectedly break within a month. On pricing, they are very reasonable. The customer lounge is comfortable. If I were to fault them on one thing, it would be that they don't upsell. If Im having work done on my car and it is almost due for an oil change, I am fine with getting that done on the same visit. I highly recommend these folks. read more

This is the best repair shop around. I have given them plenty of opportunities to overcharge me and to do repairs I didn't need. John has taken the time to show me what was going on with my vehicle and why the problem wasn't what I thought it was. The waiting area is extremely comfortable as well, with plenty of places nearby if you want to walk while you wait. I highly recommend this business. read more

Do not buy tires here. I have bought tires several times from this business. They didn't seat the tire properly and the tire kept on going flat. The told me " things happen". I bought the extended tire service, which covers flats and changing of flat, towing. I got a flat in the middle of Iowa and they would not reimburse me for the spare tire I had to buy. They told me that it was my choice to get a spare and not wait until I was in range of a Goodyear store. I would have had to drive 350 miles to get a spare. Do not go here. Lousy service. They don't understand the value of the customer long term. read more

I had to file a claim for tire damage. This Goodyear dealership had 2 simple steps that needed to be done to file the claim, save the damaged tires and fax in the invoice, they could not do either correct. Now I am out $500 because of their incompetence! read more

A very good friend went to get her Honda looked at and it was discovered that she needed all new rear brakes; calipers, pads, and rotors. She was quoted $825 for parts and labor JUST for the back brakes. This was with a nearly $700 parts bill! She was scared about her brakes and didn't know any better and ask them to do the work. She contacted me about an hour after they began and I soon discovered that the markup on the parts was just ridiculous. I spoke with the owner and he said that the prices are based off the corporate database and that their cost on parts was nearly $570. I asked what parts they use and he said he did not know. She ended up having the work done and after much back and forth received a $75 discount off of her bill. Interestingly enough once the bill was paid for I called back and the same person finally told me they get their parts from Carquest or Napa....interesting, that's where I go...Just to compare apples to apples for parts quality, the carquest store just quoted me $325 (full retail) (not "their" cost of 570, I really hate it when people lie to me) for their highest grade caliper, pads, and rotors...So they literally marked up the parts 100% OVER retail! (They pay less than the retail at the stores because they have commercial accounts) That's insane!! Bottom line is they way overcharge for actual mechanical work, but they do offer a "warranty" that is minimal as far as coverage. For a few hundred more you may as well go to the dealer where they use OE parts. Very disappointed in the cost and more so for being lied to about parts costs. read more
