    Matcha azuki latte
    Aida F.

Love this place. Feels local. My friend and I got a matcha & azuki - matcha latte to share and it was so good. I love the azuki in it which is a sweet red bean. The server recommended either the kalau pork eggs Benedict or the big island loco moco. I got the Kalau pork eggs Benedict and my friend got the niu açaí bowl. Wow the okinawan purple potatoes are so bomb. I love that they gave me a salad and potatoes it's usually only one or another with an eggs Bendict. The kalau poke was savory, little fatty for my liking, but the Benedict was warm and gooey and melted in my mouth in a good way. Though I think the potatoes were the winner. I was going "mhmmm"*yummy*, and either every bite I was slowly going into a food coma. The coconut mousse in the açaí bowl was so good. It was like a taste of heaven. Portions were huge. The vibes were low key and local. Good local music playing. Service was good too. Staff was very friendly and we got seated immediately. We mopped our food (local style) and finished every last bite. I love coming here every chance I get when I'm in town, will be back!

We were looking for a place to grab dinner within walking distance of our hotel, and this place kept popping up. It has won Open Table Customer Favorite Award, Trip Advisor Customer Favorite Award, and several local awards, so we thought we'd give it a try. I read some comments about there being a wait, so I made a reservation on Open Table. Glad I did, because this place is quite small. Go up the stairs outside to get to the door, then the dining room is up a few more stairs inside. There are several tables and a cool table in the corner set up with pillows that give it a"loungy" effect. It's got a beachy look with reclaimed wood walls, surfboards, and high wood beamed ceiling. We sat by the open air window, which was nice because you can see down onto people passing on the sidewalk from the second level. Our server was really good and the drinks and food came out fast. Hubby and I ordered the exact same thing --a Blue Hawaiian (rum and pineapple? Yes, please!) and the Big Island Beef Loco Moco. I like my eggs over hard, and they happily did that for me. Everything was delicious, and the portion was big. I love that this place is local and food is locally sourced. Definitely a huge plus in my book! Hopefully we will get to return for breakfast!

Walk up the stairs and you'll be met with the line but don't just stand there, go to the front and sign up on the wait list. Line moves pretty quickly so don't go too far away. Local vibes meet great food! Quick service with ono eats. Love the "local first, organic whenever possible" vibes. Would definitely be back.

The food was good. The service was ok, took a while for them to take our order and get the check took. My family already finished and stacked our plates, waited a while and still didn't get our check yet. Overall, food was good, ambiance was good, staff was friendly, just some areas lacking for great service.

You can read my previous review about the Ambiance but we came back because of the food FOR DINNER this time. The food is exquisite and this time also, like the previous time, the service was outstanding. Here is what we got for dinner: * Nui Acai Bowl: My wife got this and it looked beautiful. * Rob Machado Acai: My younger son got this and it was super tasty. * Loco Moco: My older son and I got the Loco Moco - I got it over hard and he got it as the chef makes it... The food was outstanding! We can't wait to come back on another holiday and visit again.

Best Top 10 brunch in my lists for Hawaii. Woke up early cause usually there will be a line wrapped up around the building from first floor up to the second floor. My favorite two entrees here is the loco mocos and eggs crab cake benedicts. Everything they serve here is fresh and made in house. Not a single dish here disappoints. Coffee( kona hot coffee) is a joy to sip.

    Kalua pork Benedict.

Dang, it was an hour wait for breakfast at even 8am but it was worth it! We ordered the kalua pork benedict and substituted the kale salad for pineapple, French toast, and goofy omelet. Not one complaint from any of the food eaters. Their little biscuit bread... tender pork, light bbq sauce was AMAZING. I was not a big fan of the purple potatoes only bc I'm not fan of the sweetness. If you like sweet potatoes, you'll be fine. It's an island feeling type of spot so it was friendly and not formal at all. We loved breakfast so much we will be coming back for lunch during our visit here!

Stayed at the Ilikai a block away and this came highly recommended for their loco mocos. So early in the AM, before check out... our team of 5 walked over and were the first ones on the list. At exactly 7AM, we were seated. We got a few of their loco mocos. $24 for a huge beef patty, 2 eggs, brown rice, and a very rich and delicious special gravy. It is pretty expensive but it is a decent sized serving - good to share between 2. We got a big side of bacon, some smoothies, and the OKINAWAN SWEET PURPLE POTATO. In caps because it was that good. Lol. Love the ambiance of the cafe, we got seated by a window so that made it feel like we were having bfast at someone's house. Nice place to have bfast, their gravy is what makes their loco moco different than other places. When we left, the line was out the door and down the stairs. Highly recommend going first thing in the morning.

Already missing the Matcha French Toast. Soft, fluffy French toast topped with matcha and sweet red bean. Definitely the dish I'll be thinking about long after Hawaii.

This was the first breakfast spot my group tried, and of course everyone had to order the loco moco. The gravy was a little different from others I've had, but in the best way -- super flavorful and delicious. The Kona coffee hit the spot, and the French toast was also really tasty. Definitely a great way to start the day. Service was welcoming, helpful, and very fast (which I appreciated because I was starving ). Seating is a bit limited, but the space feels nice and cozy. One person in my group mentioned there's usually a line when he visits, but we lucked out this time -- no wait at all! Overall, a great breakfast experience and I'd happily come back.

Entrance to restaurant at Twin Fin Waikiki location

Goofy just opened up their new location at the Twin Fin Waikiki Hotel. They are open for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. They even have a hot dog takeout window. Hours are 7am-10pm daily. Indoor/outdoor seating. Validation is $8 for 3 hours (valet only) at the Twin Fin. Go down and get a little goofy..

Insanely good breakfast!! I got the Niu Açaí Bowl and I already know I will be dreaming about the coconut mousse for years to come. The Kalua pork Benedict was also excellently prepared and my favorite thing honestly, was the purple sweet potatoes. So soft, sweet, and savory. The atmosphere was very chill local vibes as well!

Came here again in March 2026 after a visit in Feb 2017, and it has not changed too much when I look back at it. Food and drinks were great, and service was fun. There can be a bit of a wait during high time as seating is limited, but they have a sign in sheet at the front, and even with 4 people ahead of us, probably about 15 minutes at most? Service was good, and the ambiance is fun and enjoyable overall. It overlooks Ala Moana Blvd so you get to enjoy your food, drink, and people watch all at the same time. My only gripe was my husband's pesto pasta was probably not as traditionally pesto flavored as we would like--heavier on the pine nuts and less on the basil/herb side of things (and a little runny)

Ask the Community - Goofy Cafe & Dine

Are there gluten-free options or modifications?

Yes, they did offer gluten free options.

Is there breakfast all day or do they have a dinner only menu?

They have breakfast until they close at 2:00 p.m. and then open a dinner menu without breakfast at dinner time

Will they charge to the Hilton Hawaiian Village?

No. Is not part of the hotel.

Are you open as of 2Aug? No answer on phone....

Closed during pandemic, Yelp hours are inaccurate

Do they validate parking? Tries to eat here the other day but parking at the garage underneath was $8/30 min

They don't but you can park in the lots near the lagoon and it's very reasonable. About a 5 minute walk from there.

    Is there free internet?

(Through sobs of sadness) nope :(

    Does this restaurant take reservations?

1st come, 1st serve from what I remember. If you go before 10am. The wait won't be as long as it would be later in the morn.

Little overdue of a review but here we go lol…read more. Diners has been a staple for my family & I , and I'm sure many other families on island for YEARS. Our family's go to was always Cheeseburger and yellow sauce with fries! As time and society evolved , so did Diners, since they became "Upscale" and added more things to their menu. I have tried their Grilled lobster plate more than once from their Upscale menu in the past and I think during that time it was $15? Not sure if it's still that price, but for that price it was a winner! Lobster + salad and rice ? What more can you ask for since that's basically a steal in today's economy. Anyway , I was in the area recently and decided on diners for dinner. I was really craving ahi katsu, unfortunately my go to spot was already closed since I decided on dinner a little after 8pm ish? So I thought .. well diners has ahi katsu supposedly .. why not give it a try. I wasn't expecting much since it was Diner's BUT needless to say.. their ahi katsu is DELICIOUS. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection! I love the sauce they drizzle on the katsu. I should've asked for extra sauce on the side had I known it was gonna be yummy! But that's something to keep note of on my next visit in the future. I definitely would order this plate again! And continue to adventure out on their menu lol. A tip to keep in mind : they do have signs posted by their windows to be patient when ordering because they do take a bit to make and give you your order since they are always short staffed. And there's normally alot of people waiting or ordering since lots come to this establishment right after work or in between work or just simply there for a bite to grab. So prepare to wait .. but sometimes you can be lucky where it doesn't take as long. It does truly depend on time and the day I guess. Also one last thing, my personal opinion , I think Diners is worth grabbing food from. Whether you're hungry , in the area or wanting to grind. Some people have mixed reviews or bad experiences but me personally , I always had a good outcome. Oh also before I forget their steak is delicious too (LOL) , never ordered it for myself but I shared some of it with one of my relatives who ordered their steak before. Give this place a shot!

I'm happy to see a local business thriving but I hope they can improve their customer flow. The baked goods looked as inviting as always but they seemed a day-old or something. The butter horn was hard and not flaky as I've come to expect and the chocolate of the Boston Creme donut wasn't creamy. They may wish to consider: 1, Clearly delineating the line for the restaurant from the bakery. It was super busy for both so there was a lot of confusion. 2. Perhaps placing the number machine for the bakery closer to the door? Tourists aren't familiar with the system so it leads to some unnecessary dissatisfaction. 3. The staff had to leave the counter to get coffee - hot or iced. The condiments for the coffee were on the showcase so people had to be in everyone's way to get their sugar and cream. In fact, if you were standing near the door you had to go through people waiting in line back into the establishment to get those items. But, with all this, the two ladies at the counter were remarkably composed and helpful.
