Upon setting foot inside, the employee at the counter was super welcoming and friendly. She held my flowers for me at the front while I looked around. We are having a friend over for dinner this week who we have not seen in over a year, so we wanted to make it extra nice. This is a PERFECT place to stop for a host/hostess/housewarming gift, FYI. There is local honey, wine, meats, tamales, cheese, fresh pasta they make themselves, pantry items and canned goods like St. Jude's tuna. Plus Sweet Alchemy ice cream! I grabbed a jar of pickled asparagus and had to resist buying some really tempting dip they make in-house. As I was checking out, the staff person mentioned that the Tall Grass baked goods in the case were free because they were two days old and would be replaced the next morning by a fresh batch. So nice! I brought home a savory spinach breakfast item with me, which my partner greatly appreciated. Hint: Make sure you have cash on hand for a tip! They can't include tips on card purchases.

We did find seating and there is seating in the restaurant portion, as well as down the stairs. It's a cute little place in the heart of pike place. We got the lasagna casalinga, from the farm, and from the sea pastas. Lasagna casalinga: I love lasagna but I've never had a white sauce lasagna before. I really loved this and I loved it a lot more than I expected. It has peas, sausage, and mushrooms, made with in house bechamel sauce. I thought this might feel super heavy and rich since it was a cream sauce but it wasn't! It was creamy without the feeling of being "too much" when eating it! That's always my worry whenever I eat cream pastas or sauces, that I can only eat a few bites and then feel full bc it the richness. The mushrooms, pea, and sausage worked so nicely into the flavoring of the lasagna and the sausage was flavorful and seasoned well. I believe it's a pork sausage which in my option always tastes great. From the farm: this was my absolute favorite! I always lean towards ragu or bolognese sauce, it's my favorite dish because the flavors become so pronounced during the cooking process. This was a bison ragu with perfectly al dente rigatoni. The bison wasn't gamey and pair so nicely with the ragu because it was able to get in all the crevices of the pasta. We opted for burrata as a topping which gave a really nice creaminess From the sea: this was a spaghetti with rockfish, pea vines, leeks, and harissa. The pasta felt a little Asian inspired, in Chinese cooking we steam whole rockfish and pea vines are a very common veggie dish, so I loved that the elements made me think of my culture. The harissa also gave it a spicy kick which was reminiscent of having chili oil or chili paste on the side at dimsum. While I loved the flavors of this it wasn't my favorite because it was a bit too light. I really wished the flavors were bolder and more pronounced. Rockfish/white fish is very mild fish so the taste is very dependent on the flavors you add to it. However if you like light flavors and fish that isn't too fishy, this is great! This is a really fresh dish so even though it wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it's not a great pasta! I can't wait to come back to try the next rotation of pastas!

I came here over the weekend with my sister for her birthday. Like other reviews mention, seating is a little limited upstairs, but there is additional seating downstairs. We got lucky and grabbed a table right as someone was leaving. The setup is pretty casual: you order at the front register, then they call your name when your food is ready. We tried the lasagna and the rigatoni. The lasagna wasn't quite my favorite -- it reminded me more of a meat pot pie and even had peas in it, which surprised me for a lasagna. That said, if you like hearty pot pie-style flavors, you'd probably enjoy it! The rigatoni was definitely on the salty side, but still really flavorful and delicious. One thing to note is that the menu is pretty limited, and there didn't seem to be a vegetarian or chicken-free option. Also no gluten free or dairy free. Everything had dairy, gluten and red meat. (One fish pasta option.) I personally eat red meat, gluten & sometimes dairy- but I know that could make it harder for a lot of people with stricter allergies. For the freshness, portion sizes, and being located in Pike Place, I actually thought the pricing was pretty reasonable for such a high-tourism area. Overall, I'd come back again if they had other options on the menu and if I was craving pasta & already in the area.

I'm an Italian from New York. I lived there for 22 years. When I tell you I haven't had good Italian food since I moved to Washington 5 years ago (yes, I even disliked The Pink Door), I mean it. And when I say this is the BEST pasta and sauce I stumbled across today, I MEAN IT. I feared writing this review would cause the pasta to sell out faster. I went around 12:30 today and most of the pasta was already sold out (I believe they open at 9 am). I guess I'll be waking up earlier to beat everyone there for the rest of my life. Pasteria Lucchese has ruined boxed pastas for me!…read more You can find their booth at Ballard's farmers market. I finally noticed their booth while roaming around the market during a snow day, which resulted in a uncrowded market. Anyways, the man running the booth was so easy to chat with. I ended up purchasing their saffron tagliatelle and beet and goat cheese ravioli since he sold me on how to prepare those pastas. He even gave me his business card and told me to not hesitate to call if I had any further questions while cooking. You can't beat service like that! Later that night, I followed his suggestions on how to prepare those pastas: Saffron tagliatelle with shallots, onions, crab meat and a little cream. Beet and goat cheese ravioli with caramelized onions. We ended up adding a little bit of cream to it. I was blown away with both dishes. Both pastas had the perfect texture and flavors were amazing. The saffron pasta had a nice creamy taste while the ravioli tasted earthy and mildly sweet. Best of all, these were quick to prepare, and there's no need to thaw the pastas either. While it takes 3-4 min to boil the pastas, the total cooking time was under 15 min. Next Sunday I'll be returning to stock up on those pastas for those nights I need a quick meal.

The flavor was super unique - slightly spicy, sweet with basil and pineapple! I think even the people that usually hate pineapple pizza would love this one! The pasta had a complex flavor and the salad had a nice lemony dressing. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. The place is also very cute and cozy, especially on an unusual snowy day in March!
