Taking a break from their incredible Chicory Caesar, we tried their salad with butter beans - the citrus flavor was perfect and went so well with the beans. This was a unique experience for me - I was told this is reminiscent of NY. Again, I'm not a pasta person and we actually ended up here because the restaurant we had wanted to go to, had a long wait. Our friends recommended this place months ago and we finally made the trek to try it. We got here five minutes before they opened and there was already a line. Fortunately, we were able to get a table. The interior felt very cozy and intimate. Perfect date night vibes! We started with the Winter Panzanella salad and then got the Ode to Joe and Cherry Bomb pizzas. The salad was good and a nice reminder (to me) that panzanella is a thing. Definitely on the pricier side, but the food is very good. I really like a thin pizza, and about the pizza I got, When Pears Fly, the honey on it was perfect. It reminded me of a charcuterie board on a pizza which surprisingly went well together. The pasta was a little disappointing to be honest but it might have more to do with what I enjoy and less about the quality of the pasta. I didn't enjoy the nuts in it as well as the kind of cheesy (like an odd cheese) aftertaste. Waitress was very nice and kindly gave us her recommendations with explanations. Fairly disappointed with the pasta, not well seasoned. However the quality of the pizzas and Caesar salad more than make up for it. Believe me when I say that the cheese pizza was life changing. Cornelly fell short of expectations, but I'd be interested in coming back to see if it was a one off. Service is wonderful, great recommendations and bubbly energy. Food however, has room to improve. Pizza cooled down super fast and the pasta came in room temperature before cooling down rapidly. Bread Service - tasty focaccia but cut in a way that's just annoying to eat. Four thick pieces mean having to cut or take bites before buttering. More volume and less surface area tends to be extra work when it comes to applying sauce or in this case, butter. The rotating butter was lemon this time and balanced the greasiness of the butter and oil on focaccia well. Rigatoni - al dente. The rigatoni was cooked well to be firm yet hold a nice solid chew. Pork bolognese was tasty, but didn't feel ike there was enough to balance the pasta. Ratio was way off, as we ended with straight pasta at the end. I typically expect pasta dishes to have leftover sauce that bread (such as the focaccia) can pick up. Classic Pep Pizza - I hadn't read the comments about the pizza here, so I didn't have unreasonable expectations. Pizza was overly oily, dripping everywhere and had too much dough. The crust was sufferable to eat as there was absolutely no flavor and it was dry and doughy. Refined enough for contemporary all white paint, small enough to feel the real buzz of a restaurant operating like a fine machine. Music was great! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Maggie, the lovely bartender, keeps an eye on the entire restaurant from the cocktail and wine station while also taking excellent care of everyone at the bar. Not only is passion about the food evident, but also the attention and genuine curiosity towards each patron. Cornelly might be one of my favorite places to get pizza in Seattle. I saw so many people praising it and I definitely think it lives up to the hype. First, I have to mention the caesar salad. Probably the best caesar I have had in Seattle, but I am not an expert in that area. The caesar salad dressing tastes house made, pretty lemon forward. You can taste literally all of the ingredients that go into the dressing. The chicory and onion were a nice addition to the salad - it added different texture/flavor. I would skip on the rigatoni - it was good but nothing really special? It seemed like the pasta was a little undercooked. The sauce didn't really stand out to me and was a little too herb forward The hornet honey pizza was so good, lowkey changed my life. It was perfectly salty and sweet, with the slightest heat from the hot honey. The pineapple is such a great touch - it brings an additional sweetness and tart that cuts through the meat. There is a good amount of toppings and hot honey drizzled. The crust is thin as I like it. No other notes. Restaurant space is very small, tables are close together and can get very loud with the music they play. You can expect to kind of share a table with another 2 top if you are sitting indoors. Cornelly doesn't get enough attention for being one of the best spots in Seattle for pasta. Don't be scared about parking in Queen Anne, drive over there immediately and stuff your face with sauce. I will give you one recommendation of the highest order - you must get the bread service. These little bread nuggets are perfect - and I don't throw that word around lightly. They have cracked the code to toasting here. The bread is crispy on the outside, but feels like you're biting into a cloud on the inside. And that jalapeño butter.... I was eating it with a fork after we were done with the bread. Impeccable work here. Where do I even start with the pasta? We tried a variety of dishes, and they all came out at different times. It felt like each time they were bringing us an even better dish, but it seems as though there is simply a lack of bad options here. The pasta options are so rich and flavorful that you're going to be rolling out of here when you're done. You might see "Spaghetti" on the menu and pay it no mind, but that would be a grave mistake here my friend. If you have any faith in me at all, order that spaghetti. I have supported this neighborhood spot ever since its early days, but unfortunately will not be coming back. If you look at other reviews, you'll see a common thread describing the customer service as rude and passive aggressive, especially with a specific hostess. We were a party of 5 adults and 1 kid, and had ordered online shortly after the restaurant opened on a weekday evening. We arrived 10 minutes before our ready was ready, and as there were many empty tables, I asked if we could dine in instead. The hostess said that we could, but we would need to order additional dishes. I said sure, sharing that we had ordered a couple pizzas, pasta, and salad, and then politely asked how many additional plates we should order. She then took one look at my party, and rather than responding to my question, instead stated that only in the winter did they try to accommodate takeout to dine in requests. She recommended that we sit next door at the bar. I didn't want to push it, and so we sat at the bar and I ordered a pitcher to share. Once our take out order was ready, the pizzas were somehow already cold. And they were also surprisingly salty, much more so than I remember having in the past. Halfway through our meal, one of the bar staff came out and apologetically shared that their establishment actually does not allow kids, and that we would need to leave. We did not want to cause any trouble, and immediately left without finishing our food and drinks. We were disappointed that the Cornelly's hostess had referred us there, after clearly seeing that we had a kid in our party. Looking back, I can't help but wonder if the sudden change in treatment was due to our hostess realizing that are entire party were people of color. It was only after she looked at our group did she seem to change her mind about letting us dine in... I remember looking around at the empty tables, and realizing that all the staff and patrons dining in were white. Perhaps the hostess assumed that we did not have the means nor the intent to tip well, which is quite the opposite of the truth. From looking at other similar reviews, our experience was far from standalone. Even worse, it appears that the owners could not care less. I was honestly a bit shocked to read so many other reviews that paralleled our poor experience, and am saddened about this. The atmosphere is 10/10, i can see the outdoor seating being a dreamy treat in the summertime! We showed up right around 5 to an already formed line of about 10+ people. We did not make the first seating by 2 parties ahead of us(we were a group of 4 and wanted an indoor seating), the staff got our contact info and let us know when our table will be ready. There are near by bars/restaurants you can grab a drink or two at which is what we did. Upon giving our number for our table waitlist, we were told by the staff that some customers tend to be fast and get done in under 40minutes which unfortunately became our expectation. What we didn't know is that there is a 90minute seating limit. Unfortunately the folks at the table we were gonna get seated stayed the entire 90minutes and we ended up waiting much longer than expected. (We left the bar next door after waiting about 50 minutes, so we ended up waiting outside for 40 more, and it was chilly!). I think communication and expectation setting can be improved! Now the food, i will write an updated review once i come back to try the pasta since we only tried pizza and a salad. For salad, the chicory caesar was a treat. I missed it already as soon as i finished my last bite of it. 13/10 would get it again or come back just for it. For pizza, we got the sausage dill, Margherita and honey hornet. Honestly i didn't find the pizzas that special. Margherita was overly salty, honey hornet's honey/sweet flavor profile was barely holding it together and the dill sausage which was the most popular from my group, was new but not a flavor i particularity desire to get it again. The food was okay - the bread service was good (we enjoyed the butter with a hint of apple but wished we received more of this), chicory caesar was refreshing but not mindblowing, hornet honey pizza was our favorite of the night (pineapples gave it a nice juicy sweet touch), the great scape was okay (could not tell what the green sauce on top was and didn't care for it). The crust was a bit overcooked/burnt. The flavors were good. I liked the pepperoni, hot honey and pineapple combo. The execution was just not there for me. Rigatoni: the pasta was very al dente. The sauce and overall flavor were nothing special, and I wouldn't order it again. Hornet Honey Pizza: this was the most interesting dish of the night. The honey and pineapple were a nice touch, but the chewiness of the dough made it a bit tiring to eat after the first slice. It was good at first but quickly became mediocre. This place has been on my list for quite some time now and when my friend wanted to go here for our friends Christmas dinner, I immediately said yes! We got the Hornet Honey, Flying Saucer, and Wild West pizzas as well as the rigatoni and the chicory salad. Oh and the bread service! Our favorites were the bread service, the hornet honey, and the salad! They don't take reservations so we came in around 430 and got in line. By the time that we got there, there were two groups of two so it's a good thing we got there pretty early. They open at 5 and they were able to seat us even though they have a small space and there's 8 of us, including two kids. Such an amazing, fun, and super tasty Italian spot. We put our name on the list and waited about an hour for a table - next door is a all fresh ingredients tiki bar, so went there for a pre dinner cocktail.
