Once again a very nice meal. We had some guests join us who had not been there before and they really enjoyed the meal and ambiance. The seafood linguine was great, fresh seafood and pasta. If you want some great italian food put Mondello on the top of your list!

We were greeted like family once again! We frequent Mondellos at least once a year and it was so nice once again! The owner sent in a special order for this seafood pasta which had huge clams, muscles, shrimp and octopus. It was amazing and customized! My baby's God mother had the Squid ink spaghetti. Both had a very fresh flavorful taste. Ambiance was on point! I also used the groupon!

Mondello is an italian favorite! Every dish is delicious and authentic, and the ambience is quiet but peaceful on Sunday evenings. Definitely recommend if you're in the Magnolia neighborhood.

Our favorite Italian spot on the west side. Family run, complimentary bread and delicious pasta with rotating specials. My favorites: Gorgonzola gnocchi (they need to bring it back on the main menu), fettuccine w/sausage or meatballs, ravioli with lemon cream sauce, the bolognese and more. The only con I have is that they tend to rush us through our meal, which is not the Italian way - we love to really enjoy our dinners out. They did a great Valentine's Day special - I am still thinking about the strawberry tiramisu. Some of our favorite nights here have been when they have live music

Delicious food, charming space, and great neighbourhood. Love all the pastas I've tried here, have been multiple times and the lasagna, mushroom ravioli, and all the seafood options have all been amazing. The bread served at the table always feels warm and fresh, and the ambiance of the space is always cozy and romantic. It's a family run restaurant, and you can really tell with how well the staff knows the menu. The neighbourhood is super quaint, and there has always been seating available for late-evening dining. Lots of parking on the street in front and they have a cute patio for summer dining! The one miss for me was the tiramisu -- the coffee flavour wasn't pronounced and lady fingers were soggy. Otherwise all the food has been great. Looking forward for being back!

This place! The owner is gracious and kind. It is family owned and operated. The pasta is hand made. The tiramisu is The. Best.

Coming from New York City, when I hear family style I'm picturing big shareable plates for the table to be going back for seconds (maybe even THIRDS). The dishes here were quite small and very pricey, which made it hard for them to function as true family-style portions. That said, the food itself was excellent, very unique and the service was genuinely wonderful. The staff were attentive, warm, and made the whole evening feel really welcoming. I can't say enough about the staff, just SO lovely. So if you go in expecting beautifully prepared small plates rather than true family-style dining, you'll probably have a great time. Just adjust expectations on the portion sizes!

But trust me when I say they transformed this space into something really beautiful. If you ever went to the old salad bar back in the day, you would never recognize it now. It looks great! My sister brought me here for my birthday dinner because I had my heart set on Italian, and she delivered. From the moment we sat down the service was wonderful. I genuinely felt taken care of the whole evening. For dinner I ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo, which is my go-to at any Italian spot, and it did not disappoint. The portions are generous too, which I always appreciate. I also had a Greek salad and enjoyed every bite. My sister's only note was that the anchovies in her Caesar were pretty bold, but honestly, a traditional Caesar has anchovies in it. That's kind of the point! I ordered the tiramisu to go and I am so glad I did. It is my favorite Italian dessert and this one hit the spot. Yum!! Overall it was a really lovely birthday dinner. My sister picked well and I will definitely be going back.

Nestled in the historic Belltown neighborhood, it perfectly blends classic Italian flavors with cozy rustic charm. The service throughout the night was attentive, welcoming, and never overbearing. I would definitely put this as your next date night spot. Normally I save an espresso martini for the end of the meal, but their Vanilla Bourbon Espresso Martini completely changed my plans. I'd never had bourbon in an espresso martini before, and honestly, I may never go back to vodka again. It wasn't overly sweet and had just the right amount of bourbon flavor to complement the vanilla notes without overpowering the drink. The complimentary bread was a great touch, but the real standout was the garlic, olive oil, and basil dipping sauce. It was unapologetically garlic-forward, which is exactly how bread service should be in my opinion. Somewhere an Italian grandmother nodded in approval. For mains, we ordered the classic pepperoni pizza and the Gnocchi Pepirosso. The pizza was excellent and absolutely better than any standard takeout chain pizza. Perfectly sauced, beautifully baked, and finished with just enough spice to elevate it. That said, the gnocchi completely stole the show for me. As someone who considers himself a bit of a gnocchi connoisseur, these were perfect little pillows of happiness swimming in an incredible sauce with Italian sausage. Honestly, I got hungry all over again just writing this review. La Vita E Bella feels like the kind of neighborhood restaurant you end up becoming a regular at without even meaning to.

We arrived, my friend chose this restaurant, apparently she comes here often. We came here on the Sunday before the FIFA stuff started with a lot of folks in town! We get seated, they bring bread and the dipping sauce. And we want more but they ran out of bread. Were there around 7:30p, so not particularly late...but how do you run out of bread? Anyhow, we ordered the spinach salad that we shared and my friend ordered Spaghetti al Porro and I ordered the mushroom ravioli...the salad was great. So the spaghetti arrives it looks/tastes amazing....the waitress brings me mushroom crepes...I didn't order that. So she takes the order to the table next to us. While waiting, we overhear that the same waitress brought to the wrong meal to the table on the other side of us. She brings my ravioli finally and it was so watery...I couldn't eat it. So I asked for the same dish my friend had. By this time I am pretty much done... I don't know if the waitress was having an off day or if that is her normal state....which I have a tendency to believe...some people are not meant to be waitresses. By now I am just ready to go....put my food in a box and let me out of here. I don't know if I will go back there...but I hope if I do....that I have it in me to be open to a better experience. The food at the end....was great....it was the process of getting there, that took me for a loop!

Upon arrival the team was super friendly and attentive and wished me a happy birthday. We enjoyed the fluffy warm focaccia bread and the sliced meat plate to start. For my main meal I had the tagliatelle pasta and it was outstanding. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the flavors blended so well together, especially with my glass of Chianti. My husband's pasta was fantastic, which was surprising to me as I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms but it was brilliant! One thing I found interesting was that for reservation times between 6:00 and 7:00 PM, the only available option seemed to be patio seating. The restaurant has a parking lot, but compared to the size and popularity of the restaurant, it's fairly small. Finding a parking spot on a nice day in Alki can be challenging. The patio setup was a bit surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. As you can see from the photos, it felt more functional than inviting, and I expected a warmer atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive, efficient, and communicated well throughout the meal. For food, the focaccia was the standout. It was fresh with a crispy exterior and a soft interior. The texture almost reminded me of something between bread and a croissant, and the olive oil served alongside it was excellent. The burrata was just okay for me. I wasn't a fan of the amount of spicy sauce on top, which overpowered some of the cheese's flavor. The tagliatelle was very good and met my expectations. The seafood special that night was salmon. It was cooked well and nicely prepared, but at $55 for a 6-ounce portion, it felt quite expensive. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, which was served in a mason jar. We were told to dig straight down to get all the layers in each bite, but it was served with a spoon that made that a little difficult. The presentation was unique, but the eating experience felt somewhat awkward. Overall, the food was good, service was excellent, but the pricing felt high for what we received. Between the limited seating choices, challenging parking, and decent-but-not-amazing food, I left feeling that the experience didn't quite match the hype.

You walk in and order at a self-service kiosk, and there are plenty of options to customize your pasta. You can choose from different pasta types and sauces, which makes it easy to build exactly what you want. We ordered the short rib pasta and the carbonara, along with a cannoli for dessert. After ordering, you seat yourself and they call your name when the food is ready. We had no problem finding a table for two. There seemed to be a lot of takeout orders coming through. Both pastas tasted fresh and were cooked al dente, just as advertised. The carbonara was creamy and flavorful. The short rib itself was good, but the pasta and sauce were a bit separated, so the pasta didn't absorb as much flavor as I expected. The cannoli was very filling and had a hint or orange in it.
