He just left my house in Glendale from giving an inspection and I am so happy with their work and attitude that I would recommend them to everyone. I was a longtime customer of Gopher Patrol for several years when it was a boutique operation that offered consistent and exceptional customer service. On-site employees that were assigned specific residences were courteous and surprisingly knowledgeable about pest habitat, breeding cycles, behavior, eating patterns, and safety issues around poison toxicity. I had a monthly subscription for some time then converted to service on an "as-needed" basis. When I called again for "as-needed" service In February 2025, it was a challenge to reach a live person. Prior to this scheduling I was able to reach a live person within seconds, now I found I had to press a number of prompts only to then have to leave a message to be called back. First red flag. An agent called me back and their days of availability were scarce. When they scheduled a service time it was now a "window" of several hours (like a cable service guy) as opposed to a specific time. Second red flag. The company left a voicemail shortly after I made contact stating that they were not able to meet the first service time proposed and we had to reschedule for a couple weeks later. At this point I was frustrated as gopher issues tend to compound each day these creatures are left unattended. Finally when the technician came to service my house, it was a gentleman I did not recognize, not having known at this time that they were bought out. I did relay several times to him that child and pet safety were of utmost concern. This tech stated that they could try a natural non-toxic approach but that it would cost more. I asked how much the non-toxic option was and he stated it was more expensive than the toxic. I then asked how much the toxic option was and he stated $700. Then I asked about the cost of the non-toxic option and he said it was the same price, a total contradiction of his previous statement. I ended up going with the "non-toxic" option which were actually metal gopher traps, which the tech never mentioned. I thought the non-toxic approach was an organic treatment. This gentleman set about 7 traps on my property and collected payment on-site with a contactless reader. It was at this time I realized after inquiring that Gopher Patrol was bought out by Purcor. Right after he left my property I set my dogs loose since they were locked up the duration of the time the tech was setting traps, as I was conscious of his safety (which is ironic given the next series of unfortunate events). At the time of release, I notice my dogs sniffing around the backyard and then suddenly I hear my one of my dogs howling in pain! I see that she has managed to get her paw mangled in a trap. I try to help her and she bit my hand in fear. I called 911 but by the end of the call the dog had managed to miraculously undo herself. The fact that my dog was able to reach a trap shortly after I let her loose indicates that the traps were not buried deep enough. A child could have easily gotten their hands caught in a trap and lost a limb. How were traps the safer option for kids and pets??? I called Purcor corporate affairs office but all they extended was a refund of services, and sent a tech to remove the traps. No offer to pay my medical or vet bills. The tech removed the traps that evening and left a sea of muddy footprints on the perimeter of my property (adding insult to injury). All this to say, I would recommend staying as far away from this company as possible due to their negligence and unprofessionalism. Going at this rate, there is a real possibility of severe injury or even death due to their inability to set traps deep enough. What happened if the dog had bitten my face or that of my child? Gopher Patrol used to be a great service. They came on time and did the first job right there. I didnt know they got taken over by PURCOR. The inspector came around and took photos but didn't do anything which could have easily been done there for my gopher problem. He told me somebody would come the next day to start the job which was a pretty simple job. I waited around the next day and nobody showed up. I called the inspector twice who didn't answer his phone. Then I called somebody in Florida who said I wasn't scheduled. Then I called someone else in Washington state who said someone would get back to me before the end of the day. Never got a call back. This company is very un organized and irresponsible. They had used a type of rat poison (pink Wax stuff) that ended up in our BMW engine as a nesting block by rats, and inside our dryer!!! The service guy took about 2 lbs of this waxi stuff from inside our dryer. Our BMW engine is having lots of problems, we may have to get rid of the car. When I called and spoke to the manager explained the issue and asked them to not use this pink waxi product please, they tech (Brandon) shows up at his next scheduled day (the beginning of summer, today) and pick up all his boxes and told my elderly mother we have decide we can not service you anymore! This is how they deal with their mistakes! Instead of apologizing and trying to do better, they just packed up left just to protect them selves In addition to that they are extremely unorganized, the company keeps changing owners and blaming things on the last owner! They show up whenever they want (in winters when there is no activity they show regularly) Do not call them Do not hire them We don't even know who they are? The people that schedule things are completely un aware of what is going on. There is total a disconnect between the tech who does the work (Brandon) the so called manager and the scheduling people. What on earth happened to this company??? This was my "go to" for gophers! I call, they actually answer the phone, I schedule an appt the same or next day, they diagnose, treat, problem solved. I pay them, done! The service this time was TERRIBLE! Waited 4 days to get a call back to set up an appt. They finally called and gave me an appt for a day that I could not be home and I couldn't change the date. I had an adult at home on the day of the "service". The technician was late arriving, confirmed the presence of gophers and told the adult I had on the premises that he would call me right away to let me know what he found and would come back to treat. I paid a bunch of money for them to take care of gophers in my yard. They set traps and baits. I asked if the baits were okay to be around edible plants, and the guy said it was. I specifically suggested they used Carbon monoxide gas, and he said it was safe. Once I got the invoice, I learned that the bait was strychnine. So now, all my vegetable garden is inedible. After setting the traps they were supposed to come back in a week, which they didn't, now I call them and it says they won't accept my phone call, they blocked me or something. During our monthly service visit he scouts the property, talking care of anything he sees- and he looks in the garden beds, everywhere. I purchased a 3 pack of CINCH traps and a Hori-Hori gardening knife off amazon ( approx. $80) got them today. It took less than 2 hours, and that includes opening the tunnel and setting the trap. I contacted Joel from Gopher Patrol to look over my property. First area I showed him was of a mole tunnel and then a few feet away I showed him a gopher hole. He told me yes he would take care of the issue. He started with a high first month fee, which is very negotiable, by the way. So after we agreed on a lower price for his service he treated my yard. One week later I see signs of new gophers and moles, so I called and requested a treatment visit. He showed up a few days later. Here is the part that caused me to fire them. First thing I show him is the new mole area only to be told MOLES COST AN ADDITIONAL FEE. Wait a minute he was shown the moles on his first visit and told me "HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT" Now he wanted an outrageous additional $275.00 for moles. Did I pay the extra, no way. I called the company and told them I no longer wanted there service. There response was NOTHING, no questions or concerns what so ever. JUST SILENCE. So not only can I NOT recommend this company I will tell you the products I believe they use are available to buy online for both moles and gophers. It will cost you about $45.00 for a years supply and another $35 if you need a applicator Yes its the exact same gummy worms and gopher bait they use. I treated my yards for moles with great success. I trap and poison the gophers on a regular basis because I live in, Oak Glen, an area where myself and neighbors have acres of land and you will never get all the gophers. Gopher Patrol used to be a fantastic local company who did great work and had great customer service. They are no longer Gopher Patrol, the company is now Purcor pest, a national company that has bought them. They do not honor the commitment that Gopher Patrol made to its customers, that "new activity" would be responded to within 2-3 day at most. Purcor Pest thinks that an 8 day delay is reasonable. They are often hard to get on the phone and often do not return calls. Also, the Gopher Patrol techs used to spend a good amount of time on the monthly property inspection. Purcor has so overloaded their schedules that the inspection is rushed and often misses activity. The Yelp reviews are telling. So many reviews from the last year or two are terrible, reflecting the Purcor acquisition. read more

I called Gopher Patrol to trap a Rat that's in my attic. They came out and set traps in my crawl space and attic. They used snap traps which is what I had been using. The only difference being they suggested blocking off all entrances with the traps set inside. They came out a 4th time and no Rat was trapped. Buyer beware. Gopher Patrol will charge you $380 for an initial service in which they come out and look at the grass to find the holes. I had them use the gas as I have dogs that dig. That covered 2 times 6 weeks apart. Then I was told that I could sign up for monthly service there after. I called a few months down the road and they came out again and gassed for $80.00 a month. Well what was not told to me is that I was going to be charged $80 a month just for them to look at my backyard and do nothing. They were not clear about their billing policies. I was enrolled in a monthly service program I could not get out of. It was an annual program and I was locked in. This should have been communicated. Great Service! Confirmation phone call the day before they come and if I forgot to unlock the gate (which I have done) they have no problem calling me to let me know when they will be by again. If you are considering a monthly service for gopher control, please know of the fine print in the contract. I have a $60 monthly service, which I recently started. Our back yard has a brick fence, behind which is some additional land used for storage and HVAC compressors, etc. There is a final fence at my lot line. So gopher holes were appearing in this area behind the brick fence, but Gopher Patrol won't service this area unless I pay an additional $30 a month. So for $30 the guy goes behind the brick fence and applies a treatment to gopher holes. Took about 5 minutes. An odd way to gain customer satisfaction. read more
