Our waitress checked in on us several times and was friendly without being overbearing. She was offering to take food and drink orders before we were even necessarily ready and then proceeded to give us a few minutes to make our decisions. It was pricey but everything is in an airport. I decided to stop here since I had an 8 hour wait at the Atlanta airport. I ordered a Bratwurst Sausage plate which included rice and veggies with a Cucumber and Lime Margarita. Sausage plate was delish! Drink was just okay. Service was just okay as well but in their defense, they were very busy. All in all it was a good experience. We stopped in ATL from JAX on the way to SEA. They were only serving breakfast at 9am and I got the classic breakfast - scrambled eggs with cheese and it came out like a perfect omelet - pleasantly surprised! They also made crispy bacon perfect without me asking them to cook it well done! My husband got the veggie egg scramble and he said it was fantastic. Not a great experience. Had a early evening flight, this place was busy and it was crazy hot in the restaurant as the sun is beating down. The music was also crazy loud and they played obnoxious, club music. The staff seem to be in their own element with one another as if the patrons weren't really there. At least my server was friendly. I ordered the shrimp tacos with a side of rice. The tacos just simply fell apart when trying to eat them. I had a delicious lemon drop cocktail and an even more delicious California chicken sandwich with a side of garlic fries. My husband enjoyed a bbq chicken sandwich with same side and an IPA. I arrived around 9pm on a Thursday evening. It took far too long for me to be greeted at the bar. It was pretty full but there were some seats open. They were all out of both of the Cabernets I tried to order. I also ordered the chicken sandwich. After ordering, I heard a different bartender ask the guy two chairs down from me if he had time to eat because the food would be about 30 minutes. The bartender who took my order didn't ask that but I was lucky I wasn't pressed for time. About 30 minutes later my chicken sandwich came out. It was TINY. I wish I had taken a photo of the bread sandwich that was served to me. The man next to me ended up having to cash out without his food. I haven't been to a Gordon Biersch since the one in SF closed, so was super excited to have the garlic fries. The garlic fries did disappoint, not enough garlic, but the fried artichoke hearts were delicious and I also had a cup of soup that was pretty good (some type of sausage and orzo). We're in an airport, so it was packed and busy and pricey... all things I think go hand-in-hand with travelling. A nice, up the escalator, location that gets you out of the hustle and bustle of the Atlanta airport. My one complaint is they really don't have a dark beer besides Guinness. I want a Porter or a bock or something with that rich flavor. This place is a nice retreat! A great spot to head up and get out of the crazy that can be the Atlanta airport. There is a big bar and plenty of tables to sit at. There are TVs showing news or sports. They have a menu that has all kids of sausage on it and other foods. (I got a gigantic Bavarian pretzel with several dipping sauces and a couple of skewers of sausage... it was all GREAT!) The staff is particularly friendly! I was able to actually forget I was in the airport for a bit... enjoyed a couple of beers, got some work done... and relaxed... It was fantastic! It is absolutely chaos to get seated and get your food in time to catch your plane. I waited for several minutes to get seated, the lady had to clean my table, and the other waitress was confused and asked if I moved from the bar to the table. I had to ask another guest if I could have a look at the menu since nobody brought a menu. More than 10 minutes later, the waitress finally took my order. The fish and chips were kind of OK, and the large Pils was actually the best part of the lunch. I still can't get over the fact why restaurants are allowed to charge so much money for a glass of beer. It's an absolute scandal. Terminal A, upstairs restaurant. If you're looking for a "proper" sit down meal in this terminal, seems like this is it. The other options are mostly fast food in the court below. They were busy when I arrived, but I was seated quickly. Service on the other hand was terribly slow...took forever to take my order. Upside however is that the food came out of the kitchen in just minutes. The menu is quasi-German, with some brat/sausage dishes and soft pretzels etc. I opted for a sausage platter with double vegetables. Substitutions for the rice included fries or more veggies, so fairly limited (it is an airport restaurant after all). It was a little noisy for my tastes, but bearable. The jamming R&B music being pipped in seems out of place IMHO. The food was fine. Not great, not awful. Overall a great experience for us with just the right server/bartender, good food including portions, and a good beer selection. WE had 2.5 hours to kill in an airport and coming up the escalator to this place made you feel a little less like in an airport. Our server was so good when they missed part of our order for garlic fries in getting us an order speedily. The burger and fish and chips both were substantial and good. I am shocked at how well the service was that we were provided here. For an AIRPORT RESTAURANT to have great service... I wish I remembered our server's name because she was AMAZING. You take an escalator up into the restaurant and it feels like you're entering a swanky nightclub. There were a handful of people waiting, but it didn't take long to get a table. It was fairly busy in there. Our server took our drink order right away and came back for our food order. We split a big pretzel with a sausage and that was super good. We also split a bbq burger which was plenty filling for 2 of us. Definitely enjoyed a pint of Oktoberfest on tap since it just became available. This is a great mini-version of the real thing and because they are in an airport, they know to move fast and it shows. I had a little over an hour until my flight so I pulled up to the first come, first served seating at the bar since I was by myself. It was busy for sure, but the bar tender was with me fairly quickly and I placed my drink and food order with him. I was in the mood for something light, got I the caesar salad and added salmon to it. As I mentioned, it came out quickly and the salmon piece was on the small side, but not too small. I'm a fan of the Gordon Biersch restaurant chain and am pleased to report the location within Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport did not disappoint (Terminal A). Luckily, we found two seats at the bar or it would've been a 10-15 minute wait for a table. That's to be expected given we were outbound on a Monday around lunchtime. The bar alone offers six TVs, but I counted nine more throughout the restaurant. You'll never wonder about the latest score here! I ordered the lobster and shrimp tacos with zucchini and squash and an iced tea. Side note: the house made chips looked great. Unfortunately, my boyfriend didn't offer to share, so I had to steal one to confirm the deliciousness. ;) We did wait a good 20 minutes for our food.
