I really enjoyed me dinner here. Nice ambiance, great service, and delicious food & drinks (including perfect fries).

Food was decent here. I really enjoyed the fries which I think is what's their selling point, obviously chez frites. If you're staying at Ocean, this is a convenient spot near the lobby. The fries were nice and crispy and seasoned nicely. You could eat it without any sauce but they did have a aioli dipping sauce that was good. Be aware they will charge for the (4) sauces that are supposed to go with certain entrees, wish they'd tell you that. My husband enjoyed the mussels but they could've been warmer. They ended up giving us a desert on the house for this inconvenience. Loved the salad! My food was okay, the chicken was decent, I wish I tried the salmon instead. Our waiter was very nice and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. I'd recommend if you don't want to leave the hotel for dinner.

Chez Frites It's located in Ocean Casino on the same floor as the hotel check-in area. The menu is onlyprix fixe and small. We went there for my birthday in September. Chez Frites is a beautiful restaurant and has the Steven Starr style with a classy Parisian feel. A house salad is served for the table (part of the prix fixe). Our group ordered Prime Steak Frites and the Salmon Frites. I believe they also have a lobster option and a vegetarian option All dishes offer unlimited fries. None of us asked for more fries as the amount that came with the plate was enough for us. There are 3 sauce options to select from a Béarnaise, Chimichurri and Peppercorn. I ordered the Steak Frites with the Béarnaise sauce. My steak was very good and cooked perfectly medium. I liked the Béarnaise sauce but if I had to do it over I would have gone with Peppercorn. I enjoy French bistro food and Steak Frites is one of my favorites. Chez Frites version was good but it did not rock my world, not even close. Chez Frites was fine, it was a bit pricey but not ridiculously expensive. 3.5-4 Yelp stars for this yelper

Chez Frites It's located in Ocean Casino near the hotel check-in area. The menu is prix fixe and limited, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Menu fatigue can be real! Huge shout-out to Luis! Wonderful server with infectiously positive energy. He was all smiles and welcoming from the minute we were seated. Salad for the table (part of the prix fixe). Our group ordered the Lobster Frites, Prime Steak Frites, Salmon Frites, and the Salt-Baked Celery Root Frites. All dishes offer unlimited fries. They give you a heaping portion to start out with, but it's nice to have an option for a top-off or two. There are 3 sauce options to select from, and we encouraged Luis to share what he thought would be best. Solid recommendations! We also ordered a side of Mac and Cheese a la carte. Raspberry Vacherin for dessert. Really good! Cocktails are unique and inspired, but the glasses are quite small. Three or four sips and you'll be finished. Wine and Prosecco pours are a little more generous. Nice wine list. Beautiful bar area with ample seating. Welcome to Ocean!

Located in the Ocean Resort. Our reservation was honored, we were seated right away. Place has an open bistro feel to it. Menu is very small. It is also a prefixe menu, I got the half roasted chicken, it was dry. And my husband got the ny strip. (We thought it would be sliced. No sides. The only sides you get are unlimited French fries (hence the name frites) anything else is ala cart. We did order the cauliflower augratin. To start it comes with a salad, which was good but (no tomatoes, no cucumbers-just lettuce) There are no appetizers. Very strange concept for a restaurant in a casino hotel. Not sure I would go back.

    Lobster frites- delicious!

Awesome date night with the hubby. I had the lobster frites and he went with the steak. Food was great and service was perfect. Would definitely go back!

Haven't been to Ocean since last year so it's refreshing to have New Restaurants available. This location is in the Lobby of Ocean Casino which is an easy walk from the elevators. I was celebrating a special occasion and booked in advance with special request and the hostess accommodated my request. I greatly enjoyed the First course salad it was delicious that dressing is everything. I ordered the Steak Frites with Bèrnaise sauce and my partner ordered the Salmon with the Chimchurri sauce with unlimited fries and Shrimp cocktail A La Cart. My steak was medium and very juicy the salmon was a nice portion size. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and it was delectable and decadent and creamy. I would definitely come again. Ambiance provides a new but old nostalgia and staff really go above and beyond to provide service and hot fries!!

Tried the 99.00 special Surf & Turf.. Steak was a lil over cooked for me but the sauce was great.

Mussels w fries. Didn't take a pic of the tuna. Tuna looked as good as it tasted.

GET....THE ....TUNA TARTAR! The best I've had. Luscious and rich while light at the same time. The mussels with frites were great. The service is very good as well. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Staff is considerate and the food is prepared with pride and purpose. Will come back here for sure!

Chez Frites was the highlight of our trip to Ocean. The restaurant has a warm Parisian feel with vintage French posters, soft lighting, and a lively bar. We sat in a burgundy corner booth that set the perfect mood for dinner. Our server Jacob was fantastic and provided excellent recommendations. We started with scallop crudo in the shell with lime, passionfruit, and hazelnut oil, which was fresh and full of flavor. For mains we shared the steak frites and the lobster frites. The steak was cooked perfectly and served with béarnaise, and the lobster tail was tender, sweet, and much larger than expected. The fries were golden, crisp, and unlimited, and Jacob always seemed to appear with more. For dessert we tried profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce poured at the table, along with a bright and tangy passionfruit tart. Both were excellent. We ended the evening with cocktails at the bar and kept coming back there the rest of the weekend. Chez Frites truly feels like Paris at the Jersey Shore. Last night having friends in from out of town I of course needed to show them what they haven't seen at Ocean Resort so after our tour we decided to grab a cocktail and continue talking about the property. We went to one bar called the lobby bar where we sat half of the bar was empty there were two bartenders so that would've been fine but after sitting for just under 15 minutes not one of the two bartenders either made contact with us or said I'll be right with you or anything so we got up and decided to go to Chez Frites, one of Stephen Starr's new restaurants at Ocean Resort and Casino. We were greeted immediately by Corey you're welcomed us offered us a variety of waters and served us attentively for the next couple hours. Our cocktails were delightful, we all went with our individual favorites, all made with the highest of mixology skills. The place is spotless, of course, that's a Stephen Starr and an Ocean Resort priority standard. Not having had dinner yet I ordered a shrimp cocktail it came out promptly the young person who delivered it also delivered a smile with a warm introduction of mushroom shrimp cocktail. It was served on ice five large shrimp cooked to perfection and a delicious fresh made cocktail sauce. Everything was chilled and had nice presentation. Two of the shrimp, did not have everything removed in the Peeling and deveining process. Our cocktails were served with beverage naps and a formal pressed napkin and spotless silverware were served with the shrimp. The General Manager, Joe stoped by a couple times to check on us and to make certain we were being well taken care of. One of our rounds I asked if there was a suggested special or house cocktail, Core shot back appropriately offering a selection of, so many places nowadays will just respond what do you feel like or even say no. ‍. He then offered us a fresh peach purée and champagne cocktail, it was fantastic. Both Joe and Corey suggested desserts promising they are the absolute best around, we will verify that next visit!. we sat at the bar inside the restaurant facing out into the casino common walkway area so it was a fun entertaining view along with the beauty of the restaurant the bar was meticulously planned with great detail details is very clean the barstools leather was like butter quality and comfort was unmatched. So now you have another reason to visit Ocean Resort because you've gotta try Chez Frites

Martini flight! French, Last Word, and Paper Plane along with Lait d'ete

Fantastic Happy Hour just added! We tried all the food and absolutely loved it! The mini martini flight is a must along with the specialty drink! This is our favorite place to eat and drink in Atlantic City, and it just keeps getting better! Well done, Chez Frites and Ocean!

This is the central joke of the The Wine Bar and Italian Kitchen, which sits like a well dressed guest who has wandered into the wrong party and decided to stay anyway. It lives inside The Food Hall at The Borgata, elevated just enough to suggest importance, but not quite enough to escape the gravitational pull of the surrounding chaos. The ambiance is odd. Not necessarily bad mind you, just...existential. You sip wine while someone nearby debates chicken tenders. It keeps you humble. And yet, the food. The food is very good. Complimentary bread arrived with olive oils and olives, which felt like a small act of kindness in a noisy universe. My wife and I began with a meatball appetizer special, a wise decision that rewarded us immediately. Six petite, tender and rich meatballs, the kind that makes you briefly forgive the invention of fast casual dining. I had the lasagna, layered and comforting, like a well organized memory. She had the chicken parmigiana, which achieved that rare balance of crisp and tender, as if someone in the kitchen still actually cared about cause and effect. Both dishes were executed with confidence, the kind that suggests this kitchen knows exactly what it is doing, even if the room around it is having an identity crisis. The wine was not bad. Not transcendent, not life altering, but entirely capable of doing its job, which is to make you slightly more agreeable to everything. Service was also very good. Attentive without hovering, present without becoming a character in the story. Four stars, because the food and service deserve applause, but the setting feels like dining inside a thought that has not quite been finished. Still, if you find yourself at The Borgata and hungry for an Italian meal that rises above its surroundings, this is a very good place to sit, eat, and wonder how you got there.

The ossobuco was tender and the bone marrow was buttery. The risotto was ok but I didn't like the texture. The sangria was sweet. Overall the food was good.

I'll play first and eat later. Come back perfectly on time and what do I see? Couple that was still in the line when I made my reservation before them - was getting seated. And we had to wait another 10 minutes for the next table. After that it takes 19 minutes, yes I timed it, before server shows up at our table for the first time. I would have expected appetizers to be served at that duration. Later, I timed same thing for the neighboring table, still 14 minutes. I understand about being understaffed and overbooked. But in this case manager was present at the front and had not 2 but 3 greeter girls available. Why one or 2 of them did not convert to wait stuff? R just close half the tables. But no, we will keep running with a reduced service available. Guess what do I see next? Another busy server working exactly half the tables in my proximity who refuses to even stop by for a second. Nope, they each have their own tables and do not share tips - so he has absolutely no interest in helping those that are half a step away. And this is my favorite moment of the visit. By the 19 minute mark we both had made complete food decisions and were ready to go for beef Wellington. However, we learned from another visitor that dish is not cooked to order, but it's a conveyor. You might get that perfect serving or you might get completely cold undercooked meal that waited 30 minutes for you. Just get a steak, and order a custom readiness level: this way one will have to be next to it most of the cooking time. So, we get couple burgers with truffle fries and calamari. I'm looking for the menu section for English ale, and the only choice is Guinness. This is the moment where we should have left, but there would be not enough time to eat somewhere else decent. Calamari is ok, only ok. I was expecting something much better. I can easily take you to 3 places in central NJ that will give you best calamari of your life. Drinks came after app. So, even bartender is busy???? The truffle fries is the only start I'm giving this place in my review. But I guess that they come pre-seasoned in a frozen package, so it's hard to mess them up. Burger had a really good idea of combining pulled meat with your typical hamburger, and it would have been great it patty was cooked to order. I think mine was seating in a warm drawer for ages and then microwaved. Just good enough to eat. Overall this is the worst Gordon experience I've had, hint: try fish and chips place in Vegas. I will not be coming back even if some else is paying. Gordon, I would love to make you the best burger I can at home, then serve you some of the best ale and scotch money can get, and then we can drive to AC and shake up this place. PS. Manager was made aware of all troubles we had and yet did not made any attempt to play bullet out of you-know-what by offering round of drinks or cutting the bill in half. PPS. I run out of Guinness and server was never around to order a replacement. This alone cuts the tip in half in my books.
