Gordon Ramsay's restaurant is located in The Four Seasons hotel. Therefore, I love to visit once every season. The season of spring brought us back to some delicious food. I decided to start with a harvest salad. Wow! This was a delicious salad and I'm not usually a salad type guy. I will order this again! It was fresh and hit the spot! I usually order the signature and famous beef Wellington. However, I had to try something new so I went with the fish and chips. Oh my goodness where has this been all my life? It's batter something out of a dream. The portion size was perfect. Maybe I didn't have to eat it all but how can I leave a bite left on that plate? It was delicious! The fries complemented the fish perfectly. We have always received top notch service! Gordon Ramsay would be proud. For this dinner outing, we decided to dying outside on the beautiful outdoor area that has a spectacular view of St. Louis city. If the weather is right, will do that again because it was fun. I went for a friend's birthday dinner this weekend. It was a Friday, so it took a lot longer to get our food then my previous visit when I sat at the bar. I ordered the Caesar salad and got salmon as my protein. The salad was so delicious. I probably won't return again on a Friday night though. Well, what a shocker. You'd expect fireworks from Gordon Ramsay's own establishment, but instead I got a damp squib. The beef Wellington--his supposed crown jewel--was bland, and to make matters worse, had a soggy bottom. Mary Berry would have fainted. The whipped potatoes? Equally uninspired--paste-like, lacking seasoning, more nursery fare than fine dining. Honestly, from someone who's made a career out of tearing strips off chefs for blandness, it's a bit rich to serve this up. We dined in the private dining room, which turned out to be less "exclusive luxury" and more like being locked away in a vault. Cold, lifeless, utterly joyless--nothing about the setting whispered refinement. If Gordon is the so-called "King of Kitchen Nightmares," this felt like I'd stumbled into one I simply couldn't wake from. And come on, Four Seasons--this felt like a name grab, asking Gordon to design the whole mess. You're better than this. You usually drive lifestyle trends; today you let Gordon drive you straight into the loch. The only saving grace? I was surrounded by an amazing group of friends, and the drinks kept flowing. The Cesar salad was not good. There was very little flavor. I feel like they almost forgot the dressing. The I had the chick pea tikka. I even talked to the waitress about this, but made the wrong choice. I figured habits British chef knowing London had amazing Indian food. Being an Indian, that was a draw. However, I shouldn't call this Indian... Maybe Indian like ingredients. But nah... Flavor wasn't there. The rice had no flavor and had easy too many raisins. The roti was like hard. Wasn't prepared fresh. Finally, the chick peas also didn't have much flavor. It was a very average dish. He could do better. Lastly, in an American voice, even the cheesecake was... Meh. Not what I was expecting. For one thing, it didn't have enough crust. Well, if not for the awesome place and service, this would've been worse, so anyway. Went for New Years. That meant a fixed menu petite beef Wellington, scallops, duck. The food was good, not great and for the price it should be better. The view from the bar is lovely and I enjoy my glass of wine. Overall the service was excellent, but the food was a miss. The shrimp were huge and should have been delicious, but they were tough and sitting in ice with unappetizing dark water underneath. The roasted cauliflower did not have the texture of something freshly roasted; it was soggy instead of firm and caramelized. Ramsey's Kitchen was PERFECTION!! Everything was delicious, especially the crab cake. It is now my favorite crab cake in the St. Louis area for sure.... did you see all that crab meat?! Literally no filler, just like I like them, I'm still dreaming about it! The restaurant is on the 8th floor of the Four Seasons hotel downtown and had the most amazing view of the arch. The service was impeccable, and we got many amazing recommendations from our server. The food came out quickly and everything was hot and delicious. The only complaint is that I was charged more for the wine I got, and didn't realize it until I got home and started looking through my pictures and happened to look at my receipt which showed a different price than the menu photo I took. It was pretty unfortunate considering the food was already pricy. Guess I need to pay better attention to what I'm charged for next time. I really enjoyed my experience, and I can't wait to return! I took my wife here for our anniversary last year. Beautiful restaurant. Our server was very friendly and on point. I was a little disappointed in the risotto. I personally think it was a little bland. Needed some of the Moroccan sea salt. The salt was on top of the Beef Wellington. The complete dish was amazing. I'm entirely annoyed by what I expected to be a great Easter brunch. I had been reading that the beef Wellington was the "it" thing to order. It's a published brunch item online and also listed on their website. I don't eat big portions, yet I am informed "oh we aren't doing it today ...just the entree size because it's Easter". Onward. I told the server it was published online as part of the advertised menu, and again inquired about the smaller portion. Nope. So... I'm not gonna blame her. I remained polite and ordered something else. I guess I could have been pushy and asked to speak to a mgr but why ruin Easter. We order rolls, they were fine. We ordered the fried cauliflower. There was barely any sauce on it, and I thought it tasted greasy. When she placed it on the table, it had that greasy-bar-food-odor. My tikka masala was good. My daughter enjoyed a hamburger. Everything was hot. They did get that right. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Very very sweet. It's suppose to be though. The rum ice cream atop was also excellent!! We ordered Diet Coke ASSUMING (incorrectly) it was fountain soda. Out came the $6 can of Diet Coke. Again, I say nothing. I wish restaurants would comment "is it okay that it's in a can." I don't drink canned soda. I would have opted for something else. I will remember to ask next time. Server was pleasant. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time, I wouldn't recommend dining there. I guess that's why I never hear anyone talking about ir. So that's that. I guess I'll miss out on tasting any more of GR signature dishes. Artificial plants in a brightly lit Four Seasons Hotel lobby. Why?! I guess the world is changing. Yes, I sound moderately negative. I'm mad we didn't go to the ritz. So...bottom line is I don't like leftovers. I couldn't eat a $70 brunch entree. There's a $20+ price difference between what I anticipated ordering and what someone magically decided to remove from the brunch menu despite the dish was being served on Easter. Oh doesn't it sound like "if you really want it, it's $70 since we can stick it to you on a holiday OR you can wait until next weekend and it's available for $20 less then." ? I digress. read more

Love his restaurants in Vegas, so was looking forward to trying this new restaurant. And I must say that I appreciate how he keeps his standards high! Service Food Ambiance The greeter took us to our table, and our waitress was not too far behind to take our drink order. She was very nice, and attentive. She was also awesome at describing the menu, and Gordon Ramsey's concept of the menu. The Mac & Cheese (so smoky and cheesy), and Crab Cake (so much crab!), were amazing starters! We then moved on to the entrees. We had the scallops w/pork belly, and the 8oz filet. Both were simply delicious! The scallops actually melted in your mouth! I asked for the filet to be medium, and it came out a tad bit past medium, but still pink enough to easily cut, and enjoy! We were celebrating so we went with two desserts. One was the Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the other was the Strawberry Eton Mess, and they both were spectacular! That Eton Mess was something I'd never had before but will be all over that again! Ate everything. Was not impressed. Sat in the bar area for 20 min waiting to have my order taken by 2 bartenders serving 9 customers. No one ever waited on me. After being seated, I ordered 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, one side, and 3 desserts. Told the waitress nothing spicy. The sticky cauliflower was spicy. The ribs were tough and full of fat. The fried fish was so dry I only took one bite and sent it back. It was never removed from my bill, not boxed up, nor was a manager sent to my table to discuss it. Horrible service for a "Gordon Ramsay" restaurant. The Beef Wellington was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were amazing and all 3 desserts were good. The bone-in prime rib is $98 I don't see that going over well in St. Louis. I was very surprised to not see a tasting menu at a restaurant of this caliber. My recommendations, wait until Friday when the outdoor seating opens. Their patio is amazing! Skip the appetizers. They sucked. Split the $69 beef Wellington. It's big enough for two. Order dessert. I was in Charleston, NC several days ago and the food was half as expensive and twice as good. Do better Ramsay! Food: 2/5 for the food. Very disappointing. Our group had the cauliflower, fish & chips, tikka masala, and scallops. Nothing was a "wow" factor, and one dish had to be sent back for a long hair in it. Not worth the price. Was shocked there was no comp for the meal with the hair, even though they did remake it. Cocktails, Appetizers, and Dessert were all very good. I'd recommend skipping dinner and just going for these and the overall views/vibes. Went for my birthday this year as I love Gordon Ramsay but was sorely disappointed. For the money we spent here me and my husband both agree we've been to much better fine dining experiences. If you're a fan it's still worth it to go check it out but if not I would spend your money elsewhere. A couple things did stand out and that would be the beef Wellington and the toffee cake we would come back just to have a cocktail and have the toffee cake it was that good! This was our first visit to Gordon Ramsay's for my wife's birthday, and it exceeded our expectations. We were seated promptly, and Kelly, our server, expertly guided us through the menu and arranged a special pork chop dish for my wife, even though it wasn't on the brunch menu. Our server Kelly wasn't friendly she stopped by maybe twice. Our appetizer came out at a decent time. However, the entree took about an hour we didn't order any steak or seafood that would require time to cook. I assume she forgot to put our order in because she gave us the index air finger, and our entree comes out and hour later and the fries were cold. We usually give at least $50 or more for great service but Kellys service was poor. In the atmosphere you can hear the other servers and her presentation was so unlike theirs. She didn't even introduce herself I got her name from her tag. Kelly really needs classes on being more social and culturally diverse. Perhaps the two restaurants before RK's set the bar high, or maybe GR underestimated the sophisticated palates of St. Louisans. If you're familiar with the varied and creative gastronomic scene in St. Louis, you might find this restaurant concept unabashedly insulting as it seems to cater to undiscriminating tourists. The overpriced menu includes picnic food like ribs, macaroni and cheese, fish and chips, and chicken with BBQ baked beans. Hearing our waitress describe the crispy cauliflower dipped in funnel cake batter, fried, and then covered with General Tso's sauce made me recoil. Was this supposed to be a nod to St. Louis chop suey? If you want to prove your masculinity or turn a blind eye to climate change, you could upgrade to the 24 oz ribeye for $98. Granted, some elements were nice. Our service was on point and the delicately orange-dressed shaved fennel salad atop the crispy salmon and the mustardy microgreens on the smoked chicken were delightful. However, despite the attractive presentation, the food itself was nothing above average and the chicken was not "smoked". The sticky toffee pudding was the star of the meal with crème fresh ice cream. All in all, this elevated space doesn't match the casual and contrived local and "worldly" menu, yet the prices are those of a 5-star restaurant. I would recommend visiting St. Louis's fine array of locally owned restaurants that offer much better regional cooking. read more
