It was the last day of restaurant week in Atlantic City. I was excited to make a reservation for dinner. For an appetizer I had the Butternut Squash Bisque. It  had a hint of sweetness, the pumpkin seeds gave it a little crispness to the texture of the soup. It was hearty. My main course was the Salmon. It was a great portion. I usually don't eat the skin of my salmon, but it was seasoned perfectly, so I ate it. It's the best salmon I ever ate. The dessert was a sticky toffee pudding. It was delicious.  Liezel told me the dessert is Gordon Ramsay's moms recipe. It's the first thing that he learned to make. Overall the interior is beautiful. The wall of knives is a nice addition. I am so tired of going to these high price steak houses and the food is "ok" at best. When the free bread is the best tasting thing you've eaten then there's a problem. We did arrive to our reservation 15 minutes late and surprisingly we were still able to be seated. We started with crab cakes and the lobster mac, it was decent at best. The mac tasted like it was made using cheez its. I had the flavorless filet mignon, the watery mashed potatoes and spinach. My husband had salmon they he eventually gave away to our daughter because he didn't like it. After my experience I wished they would have sent us away when we arrived late. I wish I had spent my birthday somewhere else that has great food and not just a name. I expected sooooo much more from Gordon Ramsey's restaurant. On my most recent trip to Atlantic City, I was very excited to try Gordon Ramsay Steak using my Diamond Celebration Dinner. Unfortunately, my initial excitement was as high as it would get during the meal. For a high-priced steakhouse, you would expect a nice ambiance, but instead the ambiance felt more like what you would get from a business-type restaurant situated in an office building. The prices, even for a steakhouse, felt excessively high, but seeing as I had a meal credit this was not a huge concern. Having heard all about Ramsay's signature Beef Wellington, I was very excited upon its arrival. Unfortunately, while the presentation was superb, the taste did not match. For starters, perhaps Beef Wellington is not my cup of tea, with the pastry portion ruining what could otherwise be a nice cut of meat. However, the unfortunate reality of this dish was that, while cooked to the right temperature, the meat had a soft texture that resembled an Outback steak more than one you would expect at a high-quality restaurant. I'm sure that the steaks are better and some of the side dishes did look good, but if you're going to spend this type of money, you're much better off finding a higher quality steakhouse in the area. read more

Okay I drove an hour to go to Gordon Ramsey Steak because I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. I was surprised how big the restaurant was. Nice restaurant and atmosphere. Service was good. I was surprised how fast the food came out. I had the Lobster Bisque, Ribeye and fingerling potatoes. The Lobster Bisque was very good, the steak was cooked to perfection. But to be honest I could have cooked a better steak at home. It wasn't seasoned enough for me. The fingerling potatoes was good. For $150 per person, I expected more memorable food. With all the fancy ingredients like truffle butter, I was expecting more. Be careful when ordering, the ribeye steak is a good size. I could only eat the soup and the ribeye then I was stuffed. I had to eat the potatoes later. You will definitely not leave hungry. I did order the cheesecake for dessert. Again nothing memorable. I will go again but probably to the one in Baltimore because I want to try the risotto and the pudding dessert. Wow. Just wow. Are there more than 5 stars?? It's Gordon Ramsey, yes, but this was simply magical. Wagyu Beef Tartare is up there with one of the best things I've ever eaten. Hubby's Ribeye was expertly charred and cooked Med rare. GR Sticky Toffee Pudding never disappoints, but this was served with the most pure-tasting and perfect vanilla ice cream! Decor/service: nice decor and ambiance and the service was good and friendly but wasn't as upscale as other locations. Which was fine by us and we usually enjoy more personable service 4/5 Food- Complementary bread and butter: well cooked bread and Definitely a good way to start a meal 4/5 Pork Belly Appetizer: well cooked and the combo of the farro and pomegranate was perfect. Flavors really exploded 5/5 Beef Wellington: a classic Gordon ramsey classic. Came out a little under cooked to its normal but still had plenty of flavor 4/5 Ribeye: they committed the cardinal sin and over cooked it. Wanted medium and got closer to well done. It was a solid cut of meat but needed more flavor. At this upscale of a place I shouldn't need a sauce but this one did 3/5 Speaking of sauces: AWFUL. The peppercorn sauce tasted like a beef sauce you'd get out of a fan. The béarnaise was not much better 1/5 Mac and cheese: not cheesy enough. It wasn't bad but could of used a little extra. To start hostess and servers were all top notch. Very nice and attentive. Cocktails were very good. Bread came out first and it was spot on. We ordered: lobster Mac and cheese - flavorless and watery Filet mignon - was nothing special. Same filet n flavor I get from Texas Road House SeaBass - presentation looked wonderful but the seabass itself was tasteless, very watery. Honestly worst SeaBass I had in my life. Mashed potatoes - very small portion and again flavorless. Sticky toffee - was good but not as warm as other Gordon restaurants. I am so upset that this steakhouse is like this. I am a huge Gordon Fan, I watch all his shows and try every one of his restaurants I can get to. He would have not been pleased if he sat in my place last night and was served what I got served. I tried Hells Kitchen in AC as well and everything was spot on to perfection. I don't want to sound like I am just bashing this place but I am completely heartbroken from how my experience (food wise) turned out. Honestly, best experience of my life! Wife and I wanted to do a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Food was expensive but amazing!! APPS- First we had oysters on the half shell and smoked beef. I was not a fan of the raw smoked beef. Oysters were good but honestly they were small compared to ones I've had in the past. DINNER- I had the ribeye on the bone and it was amazing same with the mushrooms and truffle fries! Wife had Ramsay Original the beef Wellington and Brussel sprouts which she said was one of the best dishes she ever had! Everything that we were able to get was great, including the service. The reason for the 4 stars oppose to a 5 star review, simply because they were out of half the menu. The waitress was very nice and I liked her energy! As she started to go down the list of what they didn't have due to them not receiving a delivery for the weekend, I simply said to her "don't tell us what you don't have just inform us on the items that are available." This is not one of the Michelin starred Gordon Ramsay restaurants, but it was overall a great dining experience. The staff were amazing and proactive to our needs. The execution of cooking technique and breakdown of flavors is on point. The ambiance was decent but could do better considering the price point of the restaurant. We started with fresh oysters and clams (4/5) quite standard. Followed by the beef wellington (4.5/5) it was cooked to the proper doneness. The potato puree was smooth, creamy, and it's perfectly drizzled with a red wine demi-glace sauce that had a deep meaty flavor. The puff pastry could use more butter, it was a little dry to my liking, but the duxelle was well seasoned and binded well with the pastry. The scallops (5/5) were seared to perfection and are paired with an umami rich carrot miso puree. The fingerling potatoes (4.5/5) were buttery and seasoned well. The mushroom side (2/5) was too watery and it diluted the soy glaze, it also lacks seasoning. The sticky toffee pudding (5/5) was the perfect comfort dessert to end the meal! A real decline in quality, service,and food . As frequent customers we overlooked a lot over the past few months.Luke warm steaks,& side entries. This time was the final straw .Steak arrived with no knives nor forks on the table.After a few minutes they arrive but the steak is taken to the kitchen back because they forgot to slice it.Now it is no longer luke warm but cool. Not ready yet ,no salt or pepper on the table. I never return my meal. A few minutes later we are eating cold steaks and side orders.They offered a glass of champagne.Kind of chintzy.Our total meal was ruined .....not our cocktails. Parking was available in the casino garage. We made reservations. The wait time from arrival to sitting was less than 15 minutes. The staff was super accommodating. We had a group of 4 adults celebrating an anniversary. They were great at being able to move our table when the original table was too loud. We had a table in the middle of the restaurant and was unable to hear each other talk. Or see their face with a dark as it was. I had yet another good meal at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Atlantic City. When we want a good steak this is one of our go to spots. We made reservations in advance and we're promptly seated upon arrival. Our server was attentive and helped us pick a good bottle of wine from the wine list. We started with a few appetizers - a dozen oysters, beef tartar and the pork belly. The presentation for the beef tartar was really cool. Because it's smoked, it came with a smokey cloche and when it was delivered the removed the cloche I bailed the smoker appetizer. The appetizers were all very good. For our entrees everyone in our group ordered the bone in rib-eye or the delmonico and split we the Mac n cheese, Brussel sprouts, loaded baked potato and the fingerling potatoes. The steaks were great so I highly recommend. From the appetizers, I thought the Mac and cheese and the fingerling potatoes were the best. I'd pass on the Brussel sprouts next time. We ordered a lot of food so we skipped dessert and had a cappuccino for the night cap. I loved that it came with a dusting of cinnamon in the shape of Gordon Ramsey. It was a nice touch. Walked up on a Wednesday night for a bar seat. No wait. Ramsay new fashioned with tequila was too strong with the tequila. Overwhelming, but ok. As I ordered my meal, a drunk girl while leaving knocked over her water and spilled it on the bar and on the floor. Much to my surprise, the bartender-server didn't clean it up at all. My neighbor even warned the next couple to be careful of the floor. Just weird that the server noticed it but didn't clean it or ask someone else to clean. Lobster bisque was disappointing. Small, no lobster pieces. The crema and small fried ball was lost. Not worth the high price tag. My neighbor who came after me ordered, received his bread, and dinner before me. Not a big deal but was a little weird. I wanted the short rib, but they were out of it. It was funny the next 2 people at the bar all tried to order the short rib as well. Double pork chop was good, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Mac and cheese was soooo cheesy, it was creamy and indulgent. I recommend that combination. I asked for my bread, which another server seemed surprised I didn't get already. It took a while, so maybe it was fresh? My butter didn't have the patented line of black salt, which is actually nice. It wasn't a perfect meal by any means, since this is a high end steakhouse with high end prices. Little details like not getting bread early, no black salt, the messy water not being cleaned..... not a huge deal but a place like this should care about the little details. They should be embarrassed. l've frequented the Gordon Ramsay steak in Las Vegas and had a stellar experience each time. This was beyond mediocre. When our food was served three out of five people had to send their food back. It was too salty or the wrong temperature and the lamb had some weird sweet sauce on it that wasn't even advertised. It was terrible. I am so offended that I spent nearly $700 on this meal. I'm confused about how they even serve the food. The server's assistant comes over carrying all the plates like we are at a diner; three at a time on his arm. That's not it. Do better. While missing the former steakhouse, it was time to try Gordon Ramsay Steak. Upon being seated, we were greeted by a fabulous, professional, and well-spoken server, Christine, one of the best servers I have ever encountered anywhere. The decor was beautiful but still reminiscent of the old steakhouse. I did not like passing the oyster bar to get to our table. I started with an Atlantic Holiday drink, delicious, and my husband an unsweet tea. Focaccia bread We chose the pork belly for an appetizer and it was like butter-you could cut with a fork and delicious. It was paired with faro and while I like faro, there was just something in it that I could have done without. For a next course, we chose to share the 4oz A5 wagyu, cooked medium as recommended by our server and let me tell you, it's an incredible treat. You must try it. You must let it sit on your tongue. You must savor every simple flavor- its incomparable. One of the most amazing pieces of food I have ever eaten. My husband chose the pork chop with potato purée as his main course and the chop was a bit dry. I had the 8oz filet mignon with bernaise sauce and asparagus. My filet was also a bit over cooked but then again, it was almost hard to eat after tasting the A5. Asparagus was fantastic. We ended our meal with complementary ice cream and small cake which I cannot remember what it was called. Again, delicious and something I would not have ordered so I was happy to have tried it. Jeez Louise this meal was delicious. A little on the pricey side but I mean cmon it's Gordon Ramsay baby what did you expect!! We went here for our anniversary and decided to split the 18oz delmonico along with the loaded baked potato and truffle Mac n cheese. First, they gave us this delicious focaccia bread to start and that's how I knew the meal was going to be great if the free bread was already that good. Now for the steak - it was amazing, the cow should be so proud of itself. It didn't need sauce or anything and was a bit on the fatty side but a flavorful/not chewy fat. It was slightly crunchy on the outside and melted in your mouth once you bit into it. The Mac and cheese was delicious, not too overpowering with the truffle at all. The loaded baked potato was great as well, and humongous!! I wondered how a potato could come out to $16.99 but I guess when it's the size of your head it makes sense. Years that are even #'d are mine to plan the "special events", odd #'d years the husband. So, after 20+ years of Mawage. Ahhh Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam... Ya that!! I opted to actually celebrate- for the first time- Valentines Day- Hubby was shocked but delighted. So after 3 weeks of planning and steak house hunting- I chose for us to dine at drum roll.... Gordon Ramsey's Steak (clapping hands, jumping up and down giddy like a lunatic). 9:30pm seating- and I was given a rose when we checked in, I thought it lovely, we were seated in a very comfy booth and right away, our server came over and introduced himself Gary. (Love Gary- ask for Gary if you dine here!) Hands down one of the best servers that we have ever had the privilege to meet. He brought over the special menu for Valentines Day, but I think Hubby and I already knew what we wanted. We started off with drinks, Hubby had a Moscow Mule and I had a Woodford Reserve Neat. Appetizers I chose the British Ale Onion Soup Flying Fish NJ ESB ale,Welsh rarebit, with an onion-bacon marmalade. Which was presented in large bowl with those impossible rims for petite people like me, but then the server poured this caramelized onion broth all hot and steamy- so aromatic into that bowl from this little server pitcher and the soup came alive, it was completely delicious. Hubby ordered the Caesar Salad with bite size garlic croutons and an itty-bitty Scotch egg and plenty of Parmesan cheese. Might I say- the dressing on this salad was incredible- I know- it's dressing but I want the recipe, it is fantastic, hubby at the whole salad the WHOLE SALAD- he has never done that! I chose the Bone-in Ribeye 24oz, cooked med rare more on the rare side with Pan Seared Foie Gras. When my plate arrived-- my Rib-eye was cooked exactly as I requested and I could not wait for that first tantalizing bite. Cut, fork, in the mouth and ...I think my face didn't show the pleasure that I was expecting from that first bite and my sweetie husband saw it, he said,"Baby, whats wrong? if you don't like it send it back...". Here is where I was torn. It was a gorgeous cut, cooked perfectly presented beautifully and I am not enjoying it. WHY??? OMG Sauce!!! Do I order another steak? can I scoop it off? This Demi- glace is drizzled quite liberally on top of the Ribeye and right -over- my Foie Gras. This sauce. Should be optional. I'm a purest, meat and salt. I didn't see anywhere on the menu that said there was a Demi-glace. It over powered this gorgeous cut of meat, that I have been waiting 3 weeks to just devour and it took away from creamy deliciousness of the Foie Gras. I am wracking my brain..... I look over at hubby...... my eyes narrow, and he looks at me... he's thinking, is she going to take my steak??? Hubby ordered the Filet 8oz -Pittsburgh style- it was perfectly cooked. Came with a swish of that demi-glace on the actual plate itself, so he had no taste conflict to deal with. Topped with the Pan-Seared Foie Gras and a side of Spinach sautéed, yes he was in heaven. Jealous. Gary is now walking up to our table- to check on us and hubby is done with his meal. I asked Gary to wrap up my Rib-eye to take home. I couldn't eat it. He looked at me, I am about to do it-- shame on me-- I fibbed. I said I was just full, yet he is looking at an almost full Rib-Eye sitting in front of me. Gary knows. Hubby knows. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .... I ask for more water. I'm DEAD!! Moving on folks nothing to see here..... For dessert, I chose the house churned sorbet, the option was peach, pineapple and blueberry, but I chose three scoops of peach, which was so very refreshing, I LOVED IT. Hubby ordered the Quadruple Chocolate dessert of chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache, chocolate dacquoise, milk chocolate cocoa nib ice cream on a chocolate chip cookie-- He at the whole thing!!! Hate him. We finished with espresso and let dinner settle, enjoying our night out together. We did talk to Gary some more, since the restaurant was now officially closed and we all shared our experiences at the steak houses we have been to over the years and then I asked---could I just order my steak without the Demi-glace. There it is- the truth. Gary is way cool, he asked if that is why I didn't eat my steak? yes, it changed the flavor of everything. He said I should have told him, that's why he is there. It was almost 11pm and at that point my appetite had long passed. Seeing as how AC is barely an hour away, it won't be long before we are back in town. Let's just say we made it through an entire first half of a professional NLL game before we got our entrees. Don't judge, yes we watched an NLL game at dinner, it's almost playoffs and crunch time. But back to the food...started with pork belly which was nice and hot and smothered with a teriyaki/soy sauce. Very small portion for the price but delicious. On to entrees, we really came just to try the beef wellington. After watching Gordon Ramsey on TV for soooo long, we had to try the famous dish. Hate to say it, it was good but nothing to write home about. Beef was suppose to be cooked to medium rare and it came with very little red, definitely a little overcooked. The Delmonico steak however was on point! Cooked to perfection with the perfect crust, this piece of meat was melt in your mouth delicious. With an added side of Mac and cheese, this wrapped up our meal. I went to Gordon Ramsay Steak located in Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City on 12/28/22. The service was great. However, I went to the bathroom before my ribeye and sides were served, and an older man and a prostitute were having sex in the bathroom stall. He was grunting in the stall and walked out proclaiming "sorry, I made a huge mess in there" while his escort remained on the toilet. In addition to ribeyes, my Partner and I ordered mac and cheese, fingerling potatoes, and a bottle of Stag's Leap (all delicious). The chefs included whole garlic gloves in the potatoes which looked exactly like small potatoes when fried. This ruined the entire meal thereafter. Everything tasted like garlic including the Stag's Leap. When we got back to the room, I had severe food poisoning and multiple rounds of diarrhea (I have photos but decided not to post here). I'm a Caesar's diamond member and don't think I can return to a Gordon Ramsay or Caesar's property in the future. It's unfortunate that I spent $400 on this experience. I do not recommend! The food was absolutely disgusting! And the waitress was mean and miserable. The Chilean seabass I couldn't eat it, was awful, and the waitress was arguing with me that it's fine. The langostino they put on the Chilean seabass was disgusting, tasted like it was very old, not fresh and rancid. Then at the end she told my friend "so he didn't eat" like with an attitude and didn't take anything off the tab. Complete waste of $250 we spent on this meal. I went to Dock's Oyster House, yesterday and today and it was the opposite experience. Our server, Ed, was very friendly and helpful. *Focaccia: starter bread is delicious, fluffy yet crispy. *Crab cake: was okay for me, I was expecting to be blown away based on the reviews yet it was really mushy and I like my crab cake to be a bit crispy. *Beef Wellington: flavor was delicious yet it was disappointing that the puff pastry and steak were not cohesive, once cut into it fell apart *Filet: the temperature was not right we ordered medium rare yet it was medium well, nonetheless it was delicious. I had high expeditions when my friend invited me down to AC for a visit to Gordon Ramsay Steak and I have to say I wasn't disappointed! The ambiance of the restaurant itself is upscale yet comfortable and our waiter was extremely kind. We split a few apps, a t-bone, and a variety of sides. It was plenty for two, I can assure you we didn't leave hungry. The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The crab cake app was the absolute star of the meal. I probably could have eaten 5 myself. The food did take pretty long to come out but our waiter comped us a second round of cocktails so I really can't complain!
