Ashley at the front is amazingly compassionate and, recommended Lexa to me, she was right! Wonderful woman to spend my Saturday morning with! Including thoughtful special treats along the way, it's truly an experience, from infused water to scalp and back massages: all complimentary. I came in with thigh length hair that has been cut by myself for the past 10 yrs and received no judgment whatsoever and left with silky hip length hair that has been nursed back to life with skill, understanding and care. I thank Lexa and staff for listening and assisting all my inquiries and especially Lexa for doing the literal workout that is straightening my hair. I received a haircut and a S4TEC KERATIN hair treatment from him. The haircut was perfect for my coarse hair- he cut my hair while my hair was dry! Since I usually air dry my hair - he said this was the best way for me to see how a haircut with my coarse hair would really define my face- and he was completely right. He has vast knowledge of different products and techniques that would help my hair be healthy, give it a great look, and be manageable. The S4Tec keratin treatment was perfect for my coarse hair. I haven't seen my hair look so healthy, sleek, manageable, and stylish in years if not decades. The treatment was simple and the results were fantastic. This is my second time seeing Margaret to get my hair colored. She came up with a formula that covers my gray but looks very natural. It grows out in a way that blends with my roots so that I won't need to get my hair colored too often. Elise cut my hair today. Rachel is a phenomenal hair stylist. She is incredibly caring, compassionate, respectful, affirming, and skillful professional. I refer to her as my "hair therapist," as she manages to make me feel cared for beyond just my hair. I have been seeing her since the fall of 2022 and she introduced me to bangs, which I never thought I could rock. All of the haircuts begin with THE MOST AMAZING scalp massage/treatment. Blissful! Even the separate room for shampooing is purely delightful and relaxing. It has been a while since my last haircut and I decided to come to Gordon Salon and treat myself to a pampered experience. I had my appointment with Lexa and she was wonderful! I have very long and thick hair, and she really took the time to make sure that I got what I wanted. I really enjoyed the whole experience and the pleasant aroma of all the Aveda products used makes it feel so luxurious! I always look forward to my hair appointment at Gordon Salon. My hair stylist, Ronnie, is wonderful. She is good about listening to me and helping to achieve the look I want. There are many little extras from the time you walk into the shop. The staff takes your coat, offer something to drink and get you ready for your appointment. Ronnie does light massaging and ask about your haircut request. Then it is off to get hair washed in the quiet room with a wonderful head massage. Gordon's Evanston salon is a dream. It feels like going to a spa. Margaret is even dreamier. She has been cutting and coloring my hair since the salon opened and I am always so happy when I leave. She knows just how to cut my cowlicky pixie cut and always checks with me at the end of the cut to be sure the length is just right. If you are looking for a perfectly meticulously cut modern pixie with amazing texture, Ronnie is your answer. My stylist moved away and it was almost impossible to find the same level of talent. He suggested Ronnie and I'm so happy again. Finally, someone gets how to do a fun pixie with a hidden undercut! She has had this haircut herself, so she understands how it works. I have tried so many different salons and stylists since I moved to Chicago and no one does hair better than Margaret! She is amazing! She is very professional and does an amazing job on your hair.
