This place is ridiculous. The ultimate hit or miss. And they had enough misses for me and my wallet to no longer patronize this place. 1. They always advertising these salmon and curry chicken egg rolls. I've gone in several times, different hours looking for them, they never have them. Why?, "the chef didn't make them." Everytime? Ok, stop advertising. 2. Very expensive. I never walk out of there without spending $25 on a small amount of food. 3. Parking. The parking availability or lack there of is enough for me to skip this place. It's really a problem. The last time I went I spent $40 and threw the food away. Oxtail was tough, the rice was dry, my patties were burnt for the 3rd and last time, the plantains were hard, the "candy yams" 100% store bought from a can. Not good. I was so mad. All the Jamaican restaurants around here continue to let me down and piss me off. This was probably the only Jamaican joint I've never been to on the Eastside, until yesterday. Upon reading their menu I honestly more interested in their unique burgers and other offerings instead of the typical fare. However, I went with the Brown Stew Chicken and Oxtail. The taste was just ok - didn't blow me out the water. The rice was hard and I wish I had extra "juice" to soften it up. I also kept getting big bites of ginger and the seasoning buds. The food was delicious. The service was fine. The ambiance was ordinary. The restaurant was easy to find, but the parking lot is packed and one can hardly park. I walked in and there was a man talking to a woman that was ordering and he didn't know the woman but he simply needed to strike a conversation about his experiences. Just got some jerk chicken from here no food was ready when I was there only a few items. Houston, I have a problem. The jerk chicken is very sweet. I saw the reviews about the jerk chicken being really good but I guess American people don't know what jerk chicken supposed to taste like because it taste like barbecue sauce on the chicken. I would give it a zero because I hate wasting my money, but this food was uneditable. A few things to consider when visiting this restaurant, be aware that there's limited parking. It's not visible from the road. The restaurant is located in a small plaza next to several other restaurants and salon on Westley Chapel. A staff member informed me that the baked macaroni and cheese and collard greens was not for sale, despite it being clearly visible in the steaming pan. I highly recommend trying their jerk chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, rice and beans, and their freshly made dessert. Run don't walk! The food is delicious. My first time here I had jerk chicken. 10/10. I love that you can get jerk sauce over the chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The rice also has a very nice flavor. I substitute my cabbage for their pasta salad. It's so good. Their plantains are always juicy and sweet. The oxtails 10/10 flavored to perfection. I visited with some out of town friends who chose this place. I just followed along. If I would have known they wanted Jamaican I would have taken them to a much better place, closer to the side of town we were on. This day the A/C was broken. I assume it was broken since I see no reason why someone would operate a business with A/C off in the middle of the day in July. Luckily, I did not choose the jerk chicken. 1 of the people in my group had a rough time eating jerk, while dripping sweat from no A/C. They were out of the jerk catfish, which is the only thing on the menu that sounded good to me. I ended up ordering a veggie patty, which was just ok, cabbage which lacked seasoning & was headed toward being a little mushy in a couple of hours & plaintains (best thing on the menu). This may be the neighborhood Jamaican spot but if I lived in the neighborhood I would drive to the south side for better food. It's a NO for me. read more

Used to be my favorite restaurant to go to. Their oxtails aren't as flavorful and they constantly turn their phone off.

I got my nails done next door one day and decided to try the food and I wanted a beef patty. It was so goood.
