This was probably the only Jamaican joint I've never been to on the Eastside, until yesterday. Upon reading their menu I honestly more interested in their unique burgers and other offerings instead of the typical fare. However, I went with the Brown Stew Chicken and Oxtail. The taste was just ok - didn't blow me out the water. The rice was hard and I wish I had extra "juice" to soften it up. I also kept getting big bites of ginger and the seasoning buds. I probably won't be back to order the Jamaican fare but, would try their other menu options.

I had the Jerk Chicken, Beef Patty, and Oxtails it was really good! I recommend it to anyone who loves authentic Jamaican food!

Jerk Chicken (cooked correctly, NOT burnt up), rice and peas, collard greens, plantains, and a corn muffin comes with it! All yummy!

Really good food here. This place is in a plaza kinda between Chick-fil-A and Church's Chicken. Some of the best jerk Chicken in the area. Highly recommend it.

I got their zataar bagel with the roasted garlic and chive schmear, and it was an amazing savory combo. There's only a handful of tables and a few bar seating, so I wouldn't say it's a studying cafe- more of like a grab and go or sip your coffee with bagel type place. Cashier was super friendly when I asked her recommendations. I tried their homemade lavender syrup in a latte. At first, I didn't think it was sweet at all and just tasted like coffee. But you definitely need to mix it with a straw. The lavender taste was lovely, sweet, and not synthetic at all. Next time, I want to try the orange creamsicle which is their seasonal syrup and comes with marshmallow foam.

I was also able to maneuver to the Rest Room with no problems. The establishment is meticulously maintained. No staff person is standing around, and all the stations are monitored. The staff is professional and communicates well. I actually had a good time window watching; also there are tables outside. Right next to Decatur Marta Station you can't miss it. Highly RECOMMEND!

The sandwich was very wet and mushy but flavorful. The brioche bread (which is listed as homemade) was delightful. The tots were crispy and salted to perfection. On this particular Friday morning, it wasn't busy at all when I walked in, so I was able to order right away using the screen. I went for the Effin Chicken sandwich, which features a fried chicken breast topped with cheddar cheese and effy sauce on a warm brioche bun ($9). I also got a cinnamon roll ($3.75). The wait was short, around 5-10 minutes, and everything came out hot, especially the cinnamon roll. It was so hot that I couldn't eat it right away, indicating it was fresh out of the oven. Both the sandwich and the cinnamon roll were nothing short of amazing. The brioche bun elevated the sandwich to the next level. The size of the chicken made the sandwich substantial enough that sides weren't necessary. The combination of cheese and effy sauce was perfect; I'm not sure what's in the sauce, but it's delicious. The cinnamon roll was equally impressive. It was warm, with cream cheese that was incredibly tasty. The roll itself was soft and easy to pull apart, and each bite melted in my mouth. Overall, the food was fantastic, and I loved the aesthetic of the place.

Cafe Alsace is one such discovery that belongs on the radar of those in the know. Having been around since 1997 and founded by a French immigrant, Benedicte Cooper, this is one of the more unique establishments focused on specific cuisine of Alsace region. Spectacular liver pate. Incredible Flammekueche flatbread. Ridiculously inexpensive selection of great wines, up charged at 1.5x retail. I mean, where does one find deals like that in today's market? The patio has a couple pleasantly setup tables. Sadly, as with most Atlanta patios, it is next to the relatively busy road, but it is what it is. With all this said, Cafe Alsace is a real winner when it comes to a casual French meal.

We ended up taking one of the last tables, so I would definitely recommend getting here earlier in the night! We started with the bread and cheese board and tbh that was definitely the worst part of the night. I ended up not being a fan of 3/4 cheese, but I did really enjoy the bread. I had the beef bourguignon for my main while my fiance had the ratatouille with sausage. Out of the two, the beef bourguignon was the favorite! We ended the night with a crème brûlée that was really good. There's a lot of character in cafe Alsace and it's a very cute place for date night, and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever craving French food.
