Gordo's is our go to restaurant for takeout pizza consistently good pizza at a reasonable price

Been going to Gordo's for year. Always consistently good pizza (the white and Greek are our favorites), some of the best wings in town (lemon pepper), good appetizers, amazing homemade cookies and cake. Tragic, Let's start with the "pizza," which I'm convinced was legally classified as a frisbee made of compressed regret. It had all the structural integrity of a wet napkin and tasted like a a salt shaker committed suicide on a cardboard box. The cheese was less 'melted' and more 'anxious,' clinging to the pepperoni for dear life. I'm pretty sure the delivery guy used it as a spare tire on the way over. Then came the "pasta." The menu promised a "rich, hearty marinara," but what arrived was noodles drowning in what looked suspiciously like dishwater with a faint memory of a tomato. The "al dente" they mentioned must be Latin for "soggy and indistinguishable." The sauce was so bland it could single-handedly end flavor perception as we know it. If you enjoy food that makes you question your life choices and the existence of a benevolent God, Gordos Pizza is for you. Otherwise, I'd rather eat my own shoes. Zero stars. Gordo's Pizza!! Why am I just trying your delicious pizza? We ordered from Gordo's and the pizza dough was freaking amazing. I'm super picky on my pizza dough and pizza and I really enjoyed Gordo's pizza. We ordered a supreme pizza and the veggies/toppings were a solid 100. Generous and fresh toppings. We also ordered hot and lemon pepper wings. The wing sizes were a big positive callout. Also, the hot wing flavor was soooooo good! Don't know if they make their own hot wing sauce but if they do I need a bottle of it. Perfect blend of flavor and taste. I'm a big fan of a good lemon pepper wing. The one we got was on the saltier side for me. Will have to try again to see if it was a one off. The chicken wing fry was on point! Super juicy and not dry wings. What a gem in a pizza desert. I'm not sure I'd call this purely New York Style; it has a vibe of upper Midwest around the sausage and sauce styles, and many people aren't familiar with the thin crust version of Chicago and Quad-City style pizzas, but this is in that family. The dough is tender inside and crispy on the outside. Well cured and cared for. I love the handmade quality here; the staff and owner are cool and real people. What they're doing here is very real and very great. A very nearly perfect pizza joint from the '80s . . . just need a jukebox to complete the picture. read more

Pizza was awesome. Arrived on time and hot. Wings were very good too. Wish there were more options for flavors.

Ordered two pizzas, well done. Got there to get them and they seemed confused then checked the order system. There was a small wait, no big deal. I think they maybe forgot to make one of the pizzas. I live 1 mile away. Got home opened the pizzas and the works I got for us, was COLD and SOGGY, the box was even wet and soggy. The Hawaiian I got for the kids was hot and fresh. Ordered for take out after seeing mostly good Yelp reviews. Got the x-large and it's 8 huge pieces. The toppings were generous as was the cheese. Pizza was ready before the estimated time. Restaurant was quaint. They do not have ground beef/hamburger as a topping option, only meatballs. Tasted great and I will definitely be returning. read more

Walked in with my dining compatriot. Server completely disappointed to see us. We had to ask to be seated. We both got a Caesar salad which was below par. We came for pizza anyway. Ordered the Margherita. It was average. Not bad, not great. Had to ask for refills on soft drinks. It wasn't like the place was busy. Both of us at a certain point had to go to the bathroom. The food, service, & atmosphere all amazing here! My family loves the food. Food is priced decent for the portion sizes

Was looking for something outside of the normal chains and found Gordo's. Ordered take out: garlic knots, small garden salad with French dressing and a medium cheese pizza with mushrooms, sausage and black olives. The garlic knots were good - dense dough with a good amount of garlic and Parmesan cheese. The salad was super simple - I got it without onions and pretty much only had lettuce. I get it - a classic salad is classic, but honestly, I shouldn't have paid for 1/4 of a head of lettuce. My mistake. But, it does come with a roll (like the garlic knots, but no garlic, cheese and wasn't warm). Pizza was good! Lots of cheese, which was fantastic! Mushrooms were fresh, not canned. Lots of black olives too. A medium is 14 inch and comes with 6 large slices. I'd order it again as it is better than a chain and not as expensive as some of the other delivery/pizza in the area. read more

Tonight we tried a white pizza with chicken, spinach and onions, and they added feta without me asking ( 'cause I forgot!) and the second pie was more traditional with ground beef, mushrooms and onions - amazing! Wow! Since we've been in quarantine, I have been searching for good delivery pizza. Nothing has even come close to Gordo's. We've ordered here through Uber eats a number of times now. The pizza is ALWAYS delicious. We've also ordered the garlic knots which were incredible and the lemon pepper wings. YUM! We did order the mozzarella sticks and I probably wouldn't order them again, but I WILL keep coming back for that amazing pizza! Thanks Gordo's for being our new go-to! read more

I drove almost 45 minutes to get to this establishment. I made a special request to put heavy sauce on my pizza when placing my order. When I came to pick it up & pay, there was absolutely NO sauce. I asked him about it & he said "hold on, I'll get you a cup of sauce from the back". read more

I walked in, and I was immediately struck by how dingy it felt inside. I mean it is attached to gas station! The whole thing is covered in black and red checkers. Don't get me wrong, it is so glorious! I love places like that. The interior lived up to the "hole-in-the-wall" feel. Definitely a positive. My friend and I got a couple of Fat Tires and enjoyed a slice each. Because we were already full from lunch, we couldn't enjoy the pizza to its full extent, but it was definitely delicious. Slices are huge, covered in grease, just the right amount of bread-cheese-sauce proportion and with so many different toppings to choose from! In my conversations with native NYers, this pizza does seem to have a genuine NY flair which makes this a must try if you are into pizza. Would love to try out the rest of the menu. Service mirrored more of a sit-down restaurant, meaning you had to wait a minute for the pizza to come out. I guess I am used to pizza taking two seconds to get on my plate. It was served steaming and hot and paired so perfectly with the red pepper flakes and the garlic salt. Ratchet, a hot mess maybe... but absolutely delicious! I really like their chicken parmigiana, but sadly my husband refuses to go back. Twice now he's gone in to order takeout and twice he's come home with the wrong meals. You'd think he'd have learned his lesson the first time, but he is a man, after all. And it's a huge disappointment to place an order for what you want only to get home and find something you didn't want. Not only that, both times he had to wait an unnecessarily long tome for the orders, which means he wasn't about to get back and have them fix their error. read more

Good for take out as the pizza is pretty damn special,BUT... go in and eat and get ready to be disappointed! Nasty ceiling tiles, and nasty floors! Owners and staff eat at the Bar and speak to relatives back home on cell/speaker phone (Really annoying) and act like they really prefer you not be there!
