    These garlic knots are delicious.
    Tonya C.

The food is good and the prices are great, but I really wish they would invest a little money into the upkeep of the restaurant. I almost didn't go in because right outside the front door there was a giant dead cockroach. That's not a great first impression, at the very least, please keep your entrance clean. YUCK!!!!! Inside, the benches are peeling, the dining room doesn't feel very clean, and the bathroom is old and smelly. Honestly, after using the bathroom, I considered leaving without ordering. Now for the good part: the food is actually pretty good, and the prices are very reasonable. Maybe that's how they keep costs low, by not focusing on aesthetics but a little more attention to cleanliness and maintenance would go a long way.

The food service and ambience were all really nice at the Vinny's New York Pizza and Grill in Duluth. It was our first time at this location. It has no relationship to the two locations in Buford. We really enjoyed the nice atmosphere and ambiance the dining room had. The nice pictures of Northern Italy's Cinque Terre area. Our server was also very nice and friendly and welcoming. We thought the medium Works pizza was really good. The six small garlic rolls were also really good and fairly priced for $3.95 the Caesar salad was a good size to share with the 5 of us. Coming from Jefferson, Ga., the drive was not too bad (I drive the Peach Lane). I liked the Works pizza here better than the Buford locations. Keep up the good work.

Where to even begin. Ignored for ten minutes as we waited in the lobby (should've taken the hint at this point.) After ordering water and appetizers we didn't even see our waitress for 20 minutes. When we finally saw her and asked about the food she said they were starting the apps. Insane. We ordered the dinner and proceeded to wait ONE HOUR on the food (including the apps!) The apps came out with the dinner. The chicken parm was nothing like the thin Italian cutlets. It was like thicker than a Chick-fil-A sandwich. The foot was edible, but barely. At no point did anyone come by and say they were working on it or a free dessert or anything. I wouldn't go back if someone paid me. Oh..and to add to the misery, no music, just completely quiet.

    "Shrimp" pasta fri diavolo

We've ordered from Vinny's on several occasions. We'e gotten the shrimp pasta fri diavolo and shrimp Alfredo. The last time we ordered we had 5 shrimp. Today we ordered and had no shrimp in the pasta fri diavolo and 4-5 in the Alfredo. The sauces are great, but it appears they are skimping on the shrimp which is disappointing. Hence the 3 star rating.

This pizzaria has been a "go-to" place for us for years. It always feel like home. The servers are always friendly and welcoming. We have taken larger groups of friends here as well and they are always able to handle our group. The decor is welcoming, and walking in, you know you'll be getting a good meal. We always say we're going to order a pasta maindish, but we end up getting a large salad to share, and then our favorite pizza. The crust is always crunchy on the outisde and tender in the inside. The sauce usually amazing, the only reason that I am giving a 4 star rating instead of a 5 star is that the last time we ate here last month, the sauce had a slightly more commercial, tomato-y flavor instead of the slow-cooked robust flavor we are used to. We'll still back. The servers were always nice, so when we brought guests to celebrate their birthday, they made the dessert quite festive.

    Cheese Pizza.

What happened??!! It was a total disappointment!! I have been craving a simple cheesy pizza. Last time I ordered about a month ago, the Vege pizza was very plain. Thought a simple cheese pizza will reconnect me to the Vinny's. Unfortunately, I will need to look for a new place for my cheesy pizza cravings. It is really sad since I live so close to the Vinny's in Duluth.

The second remake in one day and this is what I got... major disappointment

I loved the pizza but will not ever spend my money there again! My pizza was given to the wrong customer and then this is what they rushed and gave me. Today after calling four days straight the manager refused to give me his name and said "what do I want" as I was trying to explain my experience. To the owner im sorry you have poor quality people working this can ruin a business.

    Fried Mozzarella with marinara

Stopped by on a Friday for a quick lunch after running some errands. This place sits right beside some ongoing construction so it's easier to turn off Sugarloaf to avoid the mess. Walking in the front door, we were greeted by a hostess, who seated us and took our drink orders. One of the walls is covered in wine bottles, which was cute. The other wall faced what used to be a Walgreens but it's currently under construction. We had a couple different waitresses assist in taking our order. We decided to get the fried mozzarella wedges for starter. The marinara sauce was amazing! I would definitely order those again and then we decided to have the medium pizza with pepperoni and ground beef. That's usually our go to whenever we order pizza Because that's my husband's favorite. We were only able to eat a couple slices before it was time to get a to go box. For the two of us, we probably could have just gotten a small pizza. Everything was delicious and was ready in about 10 to 15 minutes. Order of french fries not pictured.

We always get extra sauce and it's wonderful. We go to the Buford location just reopened after a nice remodel.

Still, even if at full stock, the self-serve bakery section appeared smaller than expected. They do have a full café setup with paninis and other made-to-order items, which helps explain the "cafe" in the name--but I had hoped for more from the "bakery" side. With slim pickings, we grabbed a few macarons. They weren't bad, but they had a slightly floury texture that made them feel less fresh, and the flavors (dark cherry, blood orange, and mango) were subtle to the point of almost disappearing. Creative choices, just not as bold as I hoped. I have a feeling my opinion would improve with an earlier visit--so stay tuned for a follow-up review when I make it back during peak hours.

The more adventurous eaters will go for the bun bo hue because there is a lot more complexity to it. And then you have the banh mi. A marriage of traditional Viet flavors mingled w/ the French flair of the baguette but with Be Banh Mi, there is an additional twist that I think is just ingenious. First off, you will fight for parking so bite the bullet and walk Second the interior. One of the most spacious, under used spaces ever to be used for a sit down/take out banh mi joint. They seat roughly 20 people while the middle section is primarily used to start a line queue. The service. It's the self-service kiosk where you order and they call you by your receipt number so there's no bussing or wait staff. Now for the for banh mi. It's not that it's anything necessarily special. It's a banh mi. Your proto-typical Vietnamese ingredients from grilled pork (what I got!!!) to BBQ pork to crispy pork belly and the works! The ingredients are one in same with any place that specializes in banh mis. What sets this place apart is that they offer the stick version of the traditional banh mi. Yes!!!! The stick version. Banh mi is traditionally served in a toasted buttered French baguette loaf that acts like a submarine sandwich open hot dog bun style then all the ingredients are shoved in the opening then wrapped up for you to open and enjoy. The stick version however is a long, thin, yet equally buttery, flaky, soft bun but it's almost a foot long and thin but they don't skimp on the flavors of the banh mi! That's what makes this place so interesting and worth visiting time and time again. Plus the price is so affordable for a banh mi. The traditional banh mi's run you at $6 per sandwich. The stick version runs you at $5. Between the two versions, you're looking at roughly a $12-$14 with tax. It's such a fantastic deal for something as filling as banh mi can be and between the two versions of banh mi, you will be satisfied! Highly recommend for a good banh mi!
