Been ordering here pretty regularly since we moved to town. Gordo's may not be your fancy Italian restaurant, but they are very good at what they do. They are timely and very consistent. The pizzas are BIG. The pasta dishes, calzones, and subs we've had have been excellent. The wings are big and flavorful too. I had food delivered from this restaurant for the first time ever today. It was literally some of the worst pizza I have ever had. I had one slice of cheese and one slice of bbq chicken. On both, especially the regular cheese, there was little to no sauce. On top of that, both pieces were burned. The end crust was almost rock hard. Will not eat there again. read more

I am a New Yorker and a yankee. Pizza consistently fails me in this south. This restaurant is the exception and delivers authentic New York style pizza. The crust is thin and infused with olive oil, the toppings are copious and the the cheeses are rich. This is not a cheap pie. A large cheese pizza comes in at $17. A specialty pizza runs $23-$24. However, the price is worthwhile and evident in the quality of the ingredients. The full menu is pure New York also. These folks understand the difference between a calzone and a stromboli. Many southern restaurants do not. They also carry garlic knots. These are, literally, a 2 inch not of bread dough, glazed and coated in oil and garlic, with fresh garlic tied in the know. While not the best I have ever had, it is great to see them on a menu. We have not made it deep into the pasta menu as we have stopped at the pizza and stayed there. However, the next time our sons are lobbying for Olive Garden we are going here. read more

3.5 stars. I stopped by this unassuming pizzeria on my way home yesterday. This place is a little hidden from the street and I only went in because the Wings place I was trying to go to was closed. However I'm happy I found this place. After looking at their menu real quick, I ordered 2 slices of their meat special to go. When I got home I was a bit surprised at the amount of meat he was able to load onto the slice....huge I say!.....in retrospect, 1 slice should've sufficed for lunch but I was especially hungry and was actually able to down both. Who knew i was such a meat slut. I tasted pepperoni, ham, sausage and gyro meat. So far, I've only gotten 1 item but if the other slices are equally impressive, I will upgrade to 4 stars. Maybe it's because we went an hour before closing, but honestly, it wasn't all that great. We ordered the medium size pie with the works, and it was a bit bland and soggy towards the middle. The ingredients themselves seemed pretty fresh, though. We also ordered the hot wings. I liked the wings better than the pizza. Although I prefer the "hot" to actually, but hot, at least these wings were perfectly cripsy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Greek salad was also meh, whatever. read more

I read all the reviews and it seems everyone has something great to say about this place and how the pizza and service is so amazing, however they fail to mention that these people do not wash there hands what so ever. I stood and watch the guy wipe his nose, drink his drink, turn away from the customer to fix his groins and then went on the computer and not one time did he wash his hands. Would have given less than 1 star if available because of the way I was treated over the phone. I ordered through Grubhub for delivery. I was outside without my phone when they tried to deliver. I came back in to the house around them time they said to expect delivery and to my surprise, I had missed phone calls from them. When I called them back, I was told the address they had been given from Grubhub was a business address and nobody was there. Needless to say, I asked if they could either issue a credit or redeliver and I was told they could not tell me when or if they could deliver and the incorrect address was my fault not theirs so they would not issue credit. I was amazed! I've been ordering Pizza from them throughout this Pandemic just to support local businesses but apparently they don't care if they have support or not. Grubhub called, said they had the address wrong and would issue my credit. Thank you Grubhub! It shouldn't have to go this far to upset a customer when a store credit or redelivery of the product would have sufficed. Gordos doesn't have to worry about getting my business any longer. I'll move on to better Pizza at a business that treats customers with respect. read more

As a Venezuelan myself, i was very excited about visiting this Venezuelans owned restaurant. The owners are rather unfriendly. I don't think they are happy to be there. It's not an inviting environment. Pizza is good, and they have my kids favorites, tequeños but, I rather spend my money were it's going to be appreciated or where I will feel welcome. It was good. My neighbor loves them so I tried it. I really like the crust. Sauce was not my taste.

Called in a pick up order; was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. Arrived 40 minutes later to pick it up and the garlic knots were not even in the oven yet. Told it would be another 8 minutes. 15 minutes later we're still waiting. Regardless of the food, service isn't good enough to come here or come back. Food: There frozen thawed dough was gross and soggy. I had a white pizza with broccoli. Garlic was a missing ingredient on my pizza... shoot flavor was missing too. If you bought a frozen bag of chopped broccoli, thawed it and put it on a pizza, you'd have an ingredient Gordo's uses on it. If you like cheap cheese like Papa John's, you'd have Gordo's cheese. If you eat ricotta cheese right out of the container, you'd have Gordo's pizza. Do your self a favor, save your money and get a California Kitchens white pizza, blows the doors off Gordo's thawed frozen ingredients. The Service: (restaurant occupancy 1, just me) My waitress started off decent, I got my coke and 10 minutes later my gross pizza. After eating some of it, I was done. I ran out of coke, ran out of stomach to eat it because the broccoli smelled and tasted awful (old chopped frozen soggy taste). Then enters a 5 top. They greeted these loyal customers like family. The cook & waitress walked over and the hovered around them chatting and laughing as I waited for my check... even a drink refill or how is everything would have been nice... Nada. 15 minutes goes by and the 5 top starts gets drinks as my drink stands neglected at the edge of the table. Shaking the ice as my waitress ignores me and walks by smiling at her happy 5 top. I played Candy crush while waiting for anything from her, I got Nada. I stood up in front of my waitress as she was walking towards the 5 top behind me again and walked the register hoping for a check. SHE FINALLY ASKS ME... "would you like a box for your pizza?". a simple "no" came out of my mouth. THEN I WAITED AGAIN as she left to serve more drinks.... $17 bill I left $1 tip and I still feel ripped off. I'll never eat at this place again. First and last time. Avoid unless you like pizza at a lower quality than Tony's Pizza from your grocery store and service that doesn't exist. read more

READ BEFORE YOU GO!! This place has by far the worst service I have ever received. The lady that serves us food has an attitude with young folks and people who use coupons. Why even put your store up on Groupon if you aren't going to welcome it. First off, the owner is racist. We called him over because of a misunderstanding over a Groupon. Basically what happened was he charged us $12.20 for the meal we had ordered and then once he applied the Groupon, the total came to be $12.64. When I asked him why I'm paying more with the Groupon, he got frustrated and said "Oh, sorry I don't speak Japanese so that you can understand what I'm saying." Then when I asked for the Groupon back, he says, "Sorry, the Groupon is gone and I can't give it back to you." So I end up paying $12.20 (after fighting in explaining why I should be paying the extra $0.44 using the Groupon or not) plus my $7 I paid for the Groupon. First off, we're not Japanese...and we don't even have an accent, we were born here.. Pizza is decent, but if you want good service (and have your tip worthwhile) and good pizza go to Romeo's on Medlock Bridge Road right next to Regal. Overall, decent pizzeria with decent prices, but I don't feel comfortable giving business to people like them who throw racist comments at you and steal your money. A small group of us (including two kiddos) came to this neighborhood joint for lunch after working up an appetite at the pool. It was an early afternoon on a Sunday and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were seated immediately and given menus and our drinks were brought over. The kiddos were given to-go cups with lids and straws and we were brought our fountain drinks and beers very quickly. The fountain drinks do have free refills. The menu has a selection of pizzas, wings, subs, and pastas and there is a small kids menu that does have chicken tenders and fries as well. We ended up ordering a large meat lovers pizza and wings to share, a chicken parm sub, and cheese pizza and fries for the kiddos. Everything tasted very good! I was pleasantly surprised that the pizzas were indeed 'New York style', and not at all soggy or saggy. The chicken parm sub was delicious and HUGE. The fries are the double-fried kind, and were a huge hit with the kiddos. I love local pizza spots like this that are unpretentious, and serve good food quickly, at very reasonable prices. I was in the mood for pizza and pulled this up on search and gave it a try. Excellent pizza and cheese sticks at a reasonable price. The pizza is available by slice or pie. Plenty of toppings covering the slices I had. The cheese sticks were a nice surprise. They are not your typical breaded deep fried but instead are mozzarella wrapped in dough and baked. Definitely recommend stopping in if you are near by. Its not classy or upscale but a nice local pizza joint where friends can grab a bite. read more
