A little hole in the wall, but kind people and good food. It was our first time here, my dad and I,…read moreso we had a few questions about the menu. The woman at the counter was very helpful and nice, explaining things to us. He decided on a cheesesteak and I got a veggie, and we got fries to split between us. Food came to us in roughly 15 minutes. In the meantime we sat and drank our teas. He got it unsweetened, while I got the sweet. Their tea is actually quite nice, although it is sweet, it's not like super sweet, you can taste the black tea on the back of your throat at the end a little. As far as food goes, it was pretty good. I like the fact that there were different types of cheeses on the veggie, and you could choose between it being hot or cold, I got cold. The bread is squishy and soft, which can be nice, but I wanted a more sturdier bread. Next time, I'll ask for it to be toasted. I'm also a person who likes mayo and mustard on it, but instead I just had their oil and vinegar, which I didn't enjoy as much. It was a little drippy because of it, but it didn't get soggy, and didn't make too much of a mess. Their fries were really good though. Nicely seasoned, and had a good crisp to them on the outside while the inside was soft. I ate them without ketchup, but they do have some on the tables if you like them like that. My dad really enjoyed his cheesesteak, and after having a bite, I can see why. The meat is tender and flavorful, nicely shredded so it just melts in your mouth. Nothing chewy about it. One of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had, even though it was only my second time. He also thought the bread could be more sturdy, but other than that it was great! Our total for everything was a little over $20 including tip. Definitely will be back to try more sometime!

Next time we will have to try their phillys! The women who greeted us was also very sweet and made sure I didn't forget my chips with my order. Will definitely be back to this spot!

Been here twice, each time the experience was great. This awesome venue is tucked back in the…read moreshopping strip it occupies. You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. This is the kind of place that offers a gastro pub menu and they do not disappoint with a familiar yet unique menu offering some truly great dishes and perhaps the best burgers in VB. Definitely coming back.

We came here for Valentine's Day with a reservation for three (2 adults and a child). We were…read moregreeted warmly and seated right away, which was impressive given how busy it was. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.
