It's a little curmudgeonly of me, but I didn't want this place to be as good as it actually is. I…read moredo work around this area and had been curious about Yorkie's for a while; about a month ago I had the opportunity to stop in. It's kind of like Taste in that it's like a Hip And Trendy Sandwich Spot - the staff is mostly perky, cool, and very competent college students - and the prices are about on par with Taste as well, but for what you get here, it's probably double the value of what you can get there. I got their tuna melt, which stuck with me for long enough that it had me craving another sandwich like that when I was in the area again. So today I was in the area again and I brought a friend, who also got the tuna melt and loved it. The thing about that sandwich is that they probably put about a half pound of bluefin tuna salad on it, and it's not mayo or filler-heavy. It's very tuna-forward, which is a plus to me. This time I got the Kevin's Bday, which was turkey, bacon, cheese, LT with this amazing garlicky green onion aioli, because honestly I was like, "Well, the tuna melt was really good. But what about just a Normal Ass Sandwich??" Both those sandwiches come on thick toasted (I think potato?) sandwich bread and my god it was all SO delicious. Again, the portion was enough for two meals, and it was just a turkey sandwich! The turkey was super succulent too. One small detail i really appreciated was that I believe they cut their tomatoes on the slicer as well; they're incredibly thin, and they add a lot to the sandwich without overpowering it. Also their tots are unreal. Sorry for rambling. I'm very passionate about sandwiches apparently. All I'm saying is that if you're at the oceanfront and you're trying to pick a sandwich place, it should be this one.

It was definitely busy during the lunch rush, but worth the wait. The dish was so good! The lemon zest really brightened everything up and kept it from feeling too heavy despite the Caesar dressing, tots, and fried chicken. It added a depth of flavor I wasn't expecting and absolutely loved. At $18 (+ an additional $2 for a can of diet coke), it's a little pricey IMHO, but I'd order it again without hesitation because it's that good. Yorkie's is such a cute spot, the staff was friendly, and while parking can be a bit sparse around lunchtime, it's worth it. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu!

Those people have no idea how to treat people. They made me so friggin upset that I took my party of 12 and walked right out of the store and never went back. Mr Cancro go to the Fordham Drive store and get them people training or give ME that mgr position and I'll teach them how to be nice to customers! I can't believe how we were treated by a snot nosed high school brat. The way she spoke to me was so rude and disrespectful had I not been a customer I would have slapped her across the face, but I just walked out with my friends and she lost a big chunk of $$$$$.

I like the online ordering process, but you can also call in your order if you're trying to grab a quick bite. There are always plenty of seats available if you need to dine in. Service is always great (both in-store and over the phone). They really do their best to keep your cheesesteak piping hot upon pick-up. Get the cheese fries. It reheats to perfection in the air fryer even if you have leftovers. These bad boys stay crunchy for a while though as I used to live 20 mins away and still able to enjoy a crisp when I bite into them upon arrival to my [home] destination. Also, get the biggy 16" size. I microwave the 3/4 I couldn't eat for 20-30 sec, then bake in a conventional toaster oven for 8-10 mins at 350F or 300F. You can add whatever topping, however much you want. I personally pay extra for mushrooms because I'm a fun[guy](?). I love this place. I've never eaten a Philly that had cheese on top of the meat that stuck so much to the paper it was wrapped in, it could not be eaten. I lost 25 percent of the meat on the paper along with a portion of the cheese. The bread was soaking wet on the bottom that the moisture leaked through the outer wrap and made tissue of the inner wrapping. I asked for extra pepper, paid for the option, and got very little. I asked for extra mayo and couldn't even taste it. I used to go there all the time a long time ago, but now I will never return. I paid over $30 for the meal. I ordered fries, tenders for my son. No dip for the tenders, nor did I get ketchup. Just no attention to the details they've been known for and it's disappointing.

You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. This is the kind of place that offers a gastro pub menu and they do not disappoint with a familiar yet unique menu offering some truly great dishes and perhaps the best burgers in VB. Definitely coming back.

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.
