We were introduced to the original pizzeria chef -Matt 2022 His passion and love for making pizza translated into his pies. We loved the NY style. So tasty and yummy. This pizza ruined me forever! We haven't seen Matt for a while and pizzas not the same.

Stumbled here on the late night! I met Michelle who is the bomb and had it rolling in there. This pizza was so good n fresh I can't wait to go back. A person was getting this a told me to get also! The place is a vibe coming from a night on the town. Check it

This is a solid spot for a NY style slice, hot and fresh, in Oaktown. There's a lot of choices in the east bay for NY style pie, but Graffiti is the closest to what I've had in NY - great sauce, perfect crust. They have outdoor seating in the back. I wish they had a location on the other side of the Caldecott.

We were in Oakland for another event and decided to grab some pizza before heading back to Sacramento. Found this place and decided to give it a try since they advertised slices. I was a little disappointed when I walked inside and the only graffiti I saw was a large panel above the bar. The rest of the interior was very tastefully painted in simple colors with white molding. It made me wonder about the name until I went to restroom to wash my hands. The men's room is covered in graffiti. I'm not sure about the ladies room. Anyway, I placed my order, at the bar, for a couple slices before visiting the restroom and they were done by the time I returned. I tried their BBQ Chicken and their veggie. Both had a wonderfully somewhat thin crust that had just the right amount of char on the bottom, which adds to the flavor and give a satisfying crunch when you bite into it. The toppings were appropriate and tasted fresh, even though the slice was reheated. BBQ sauce was nicely balanced and there was a sufficient amount of toppings on them. The best part is the price was very affordable! I will definitely be back for more!

Employees were so nice. Went in on a Saturday afternoon. Awesome slice, and garlic knots were ridiculous. So good. Never change

I decided to give Graffiti Pizza a try after being recommended it by an acquaintance. I ordered ahead on their Square site for a 6pm pickup, but didn't get any text notification that it was ready and there were no updates on the Square ordering page either, so I only went at 6:30pm to pick it up, and found that the food was ready and they'd been keeping it in a warmer for us. It can be hard to park there, almost all the spots nearby were taken up and they're mostly metered parking. Spraycation medium: Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Canadian Bacon, Pineapple, Parmesan, Oil, Oregano. It's basically a Hawaiian pizza. You can order a deluxe version of this that adds basil and jalapenos. I thought this was pretty good and am happy with the amount of cheese and pineapples on it. Phantom medium: White pie (no sauce) mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, mushrooms, red bell peppers, balsamic glaze, parmesan, oil, and oregano. It was very juicy and drippy. The ricotta was thick, which I really enjoyed. The mushrooms were also savory and I liked the cheese in general. They gave us the most parmesan cheese packets I've ever gotten at any pizza place. I thought the phantom was the standout of the two flavors but I definitely am interested in trying more of their flavors since I felt these were among the best pizzas I've had in Oakland.

One of my favorite pizza spots in Oakland (and there are a lot of pizza joints in Oakland) - this is my go-to spot when I'm craving non-Deep Dish. I've never had an issue ordering delivery from here and the pizza is always piping hot still when it gets to my house. I've tried a few options but my favorite is the Roll Call (minus olives) - everything is customizable. The pizza is cheesy and full of toppings and flavorful and reheats very well the next day. The extra large is GIGANTIC and will feed me for a week.

Top contender for Mama's Boy. Delicious. Fresh ingredients, crispy crust.

The picture speaks for itself. Delicious. Fresh ingredients. Crispy crust. Top contender for Mama's boy.

Fun little pizza spot in Oakland that offers New York style by the slice or pie. We got slices of the cheese and veggie. The cheese was pretty good and so melty and warm. The veggie had mushrooms, onion, and a dark sauce that they drizzled over the slice. Crust was a medium size - not too thin but not overly thick. I also liked that the top crust wasn't alot of bread. There are some tables inside and if you go towards the back there is a nice outdoor seating area with heaters available for the winter. Servers were friendly and food came out at a reasonable time. Would be nice to see more options and unique toppings for pizzas but overall had a good experience here.

We totally looked forward on the pizza and when we got it unfortunately it was super disappointing. Totally taste like Dominos pizza. Never again will we order from this pizza restaurant. Super unfortunate that food taste and quantity has gone down hill. If you're into fast food type pizza then go for it. Not sure how other people show such different pizza photos when we clearly received nothing like past pizza photos

At least I got to go a couple times before they closed and was able to try all the unique flavors that I wanted to try. The first time I went was with my family. We got a whole Ube pizza. The taste was good, and love the uniqueness of it. Even the dough is purple! There weren't that many people there when we went, so the service was quick. My second visit was closing weekend with a group of friends. I got to try two more flavors recommended by the server during my first visit - blackberry and longanisa. Both were very good in different ways. I think I preferred the blackberry slightly over longanisa. They had a lot of take out orders that day, and we got the last white dough (there were still Ube). Good thing we got what we got. Even though they were super busy, the service was still quick and pizza came out fast. I heard they opened up again in San Francisco but for take out only. So glad they reopened because after having the amazing pizzas right before they closed on Oakland, my friends and I were sad that we didn't go sooner. Can't wait to try again in the future.

Jeff, the owner and pizza maker, is so nice, warmly welcoming us upon arrival and inquired if we'd prefer indoor or outdoor seating. Beautiful day so opted for outdoor on their expansive back patio. Miso mushroom - new to me, savory and bright flavor. Yuzu and lemon acidity cuts into the savory of the mushroom and miso. Might be one of my new favorites. Soppresata - an OG item on the menu and one of my favorites. Simple classic pizza with soppresata topped with scallions and honey. Savory, sweet. The honey is perfect on this pizza. Longanisa - Filipino inspired with longanisa, baked egg, and tomato. Savory and sweet. Heaviest of the three pizzas. Comes with a side of sweet vinegar to drizzle on top. All three of these pizzas easily are favorites for me. They're super large and best to share with 2-3 people. All thin crust. 6 of us had these three pizzas and were able to finish it but were super stuffed. Wishing the best to Jeff and Spinning Dough's next adventure.

Pizzeria Violetta in Oakland is firing on all cylinders right now, especially with their current…read moreRestaurant Week special. Their pizzas are already reliably delicious, but this deal is genuinely outstanding value since you get a large 18" pizza, your choice of a Caesar or dinner salad, and four very large sea salt chocolate chip cookies, all for $35. We grabbed two of these specials for a group of six and still had leftovers, so I'd say one combo easily feeds three people and could probably stretch to four as long as no one is absolutely starving. The pizzas themselves are ultra thin but still hold up structurally since you can lift and fold each slice without everything collapsing, which is exactly how I like to inhale my pizza. I personally wish the crust were just a touch more burnt and crackly on the edges, but even without that extra char, the flavor and bouncy chew of the dough were spot on. We ordered the Hot Italian and the Sausage & Roasted Garlic pies and absolutely loved both, especially the housemade sweet Italian sausage that appears on each, which is savory, slightly sweet, and super satisfying in every bite. Their house tomato sauce deserves its own shout out because it hits that ideal balance of sweetness and acidity and ties everything together perfectly. On the Sausage & Roasted Garlic it plays beautifully with the rich roasted garlic purée, and on the Hot Italian it stands up nicely to the Calabrian chilis and chili oil without getting lost. The sea salt chocolate chip cookies that come with the special are huge and packed with chocolate chips, and that little hit of salt really enhanced the flavors but the something about the texture was a bit off for me as it wasn't quite chewy or crumbly but rather something in between, which left me a little confused. Another big plus is that Violetta has a full bar so you can pair your meal with a beer, a glass of wine, or a cocktail to match whatever pie you are in the mood for. Between the quality of the ingredients, the thoughtfulness of the flavor combinations, and the generosity of the Restaurant Week deal, Pizzeria Violetta is an easy recommend and a spot I would happily return to with a group (or by myself with plenty of leftovers!).

I don't know why the pies cost so much, but they are only a few blocks from our place, so I want to support the few restaurants that set up shop in West Oakland. However, I'm starting to sour on this place. I don't mind overpaying for pizza; that's just edible, but on a few occasions, I've been appalled by what these folks try to get away with. A couple of months ago, they gave us a pie that was so burnt I had to call to complain, and they replaced it with a less burnt pie. Perhaps they don't know that extremely burnt food is full of carcinogens. This week, we ordered our usual 18-inch pie. This pie was a Frankenstein pie; half of it tasted like it had been sitting under the lamp all day. A telltale sign is how stiff the cheese is; the old dough feels as if I'm chewing on rubber, and the slices are stiff and salty overall, though some slices taste a bit fresher and crunchier. I was disappointed. If you're going to overcharge for mediocre pizza, the least you could do is give people what they are paying for. If I wanted old, stale pizza, I would've asked for the slices that sit under the lamp all day. Moving forward, if we order from this place, I will walk over, place the order, and wait for it, so we don't get cheated again. This place is a reminder of why certain restaurants often fail. The food is overpriced, and they are inconsistent with their service, if not disrespectful, in how they sometimes treat and feed their customers. We're not pigs; we just like eating the sweet little pig.
