She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I started with a classic mojito, which was refreshing and well made. I finally made it to Moxie's! I've been wanting to try this place forever, and finally did for a friend's birthday for drinks and appetizers. She underestimated how many people would show up, and they were super accommodating, even on a busy Sunday night. In fact, our service the entire time was amazing. Absolutely love this place, and since it had been a while since my last visit, I wanted to see if it was still living up to the hype and it truly did. We had a small hiccup with the two ladies at the front receptionist desk, but Art, the restaurant manager took impeccable care of us. He checked in to make sure everything was okay and handled the situation right away. Even our server was very nice. We visited on a Tuesday, and it was quite busy for a weekday. We ordered the loaded nachos with blackened chicken, along with the chicken, quinoa, and a chicken salad and let's just say, you'll never go hungry. Last night we met some friends for happy hour at Moxie's and we sat outside on the patio, which is right on the street. It was a lovely spot; the service was excellent and the happy hour selection was small but adequate. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and then the Asian chicken bites along with the potstickers. The chicken was delicately fried and very tasty. The potstickers, too, were in a delicious sauce and we enjoyed it all. Our friends had the fresh salad with broiled salmon on top, and they, too, enjoyed that as well. I would come back here. I have been to the Moxie's in Brickell many times, but this was my first time in Las Olas. I like how spacious it is, and i love how the outdoor section has a beautiful bar and so many tvs-- perfect to watch a game! Our waitress was nice and attentive. I had the steak sandwich. Even a supervisor, Dominic, stopped by to ask if our food was satisfactory. It was! We started with the calamari. Lightly crispy with grilled peppers, it was a favorite. The bartender had to get some assistance from another bartender to make our expresso martini. But what really turned me off was the invasion of flies. This couple next to us was eating and flies were landing on his drink and his galpal was shooing away the flies. We chose this location because it was within walking distance of our hotel and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. We showed up about an hour and a half prior to the College Football Championship game that Miami was playing in. Moxie's quickly seated our family of five, and they had extra tvs up throughout the space to ensure great viewing of the game from every angle. Upon arrival music was playing throughout, and on this chilly night they had heaters and fireplaces going to combat the cold in the outdoor seating areas and it added to the glow of the room. The ambiance is a very sleek, modern vibe that you would expect from South Florida. There is an extensive drink menu, including separate sections for shots and mocktails. The adults chose cocktails (Moscow mule and guava cosmo) both were very enjoyable, while another had the zero proof tropic thunder cocktail and devoured every last drop. After a long afternoon of walking, and noticing the establishment starting to fill with people ready to watch the big game, we ordered the 1 lb cheese nachos appetizer, as we weren't sure how long it would be before our meals arrived and we had three hungry kids with us. The nachos came out very quickly despite the large crowd, and unlike most nachos with toppings only on the top, these nachos came layered with cheese and even had cheese underneath them to ensure cheese in every bite. The nachos come served on a circular platter, laid out like a wreath, with sour cream, fresh guac, and salsa in the middle. The quantity was enough that we didn't finish it, even with five people eating. Our meals did not take long either, which again was surprising with the way the large building had filled up. I chose the Chipotle Mango Chicken (a sweet & smoky dry rub, lemon quinoa, seasonal vegetables, avocado & pico de gallo) and it was quite delicious. The server asked about my preference for spice when ordering and advised their spice is on the spicier side, so I ordered the blackened spice on the chicken to only be done at a medium level. Her recommendation was perfect and even though it was blackened the chicken was not dry, and was served over the quinoa, perfectly cooked carrot chunks and broccolini, with avocado slices and a swipe of lemon sauce on the plate. Highly recommend this dish! Both of our kids (10 & 12) ordered the Caesar salad, one with the dish the way it is intended and the other opting for ranch instead of Caesar dressing. They were more than accommodating with the ranch on the Caesar salad and made sure it was to her liking. The littlest kiddo (2) had the buttered noodles and also seemed to enjoy them. My husband had ribs and also enjoyed the potatoes, carrots and broccolini with his meal. As this being our final night of vacation, we topped it off with dessert; key lime pie and sticky toffee pudding. Our server, whose name I unfortunately do not remember and would love to share because she did a great job, noticed that the caramel sauce for the sticky toffee pudding had separated "as it sometimes does" so she quickly ran back to the kitchen to grab us a fresh batch. Both desserts were enjoyed by everyone. The star of the show though was the key lime pie, the best we've ever had. This pie was so perfect that it had people at the table who normally don't eat it, vying for the last bites. Even with all the courses and two rounds of drinks that we had, plus the numerous people in attendance, we never had an empty glass and were in and out of this place in under an hour and a half and that includes the time we lingered a bit just to catch the anthem and kickoff of the game. If ever back in the area we will definitely be going back to Moxie's and you should try it too. P.S. If you're someone in charge reading this, we'd love to know that our server gets the credit for doing a great job. We don't remember her name (fail!), but she is young, fair skinned with long brown hair, and probably like many that evening, was wearing a hunter green (or hurricane green) sweater with jeans and we were in the corner table closest to the street and hostess stand inside the doors by the stairs. I came here to celebrate my birthday and I made the right choice. Even though it was super crowded, we were sat off to the side and the server was very attentive. To drink, I had the passion fruit ranch water, which was a great choice- thanks to the server's recommendation. For appetizer, we had the crab cake, which was really good and refreshing with the arugula and grapefruit and the steak bites, which were a lot and cooked perfectly. Our server dropped a used, dirty knife into my hair with someone else's food on it.
