Came in for brunch, but brunch was no longer something they do on Sundays be aware their main website still states that. Cute decor with plush sittings and fireplace in the middle. On to the food, had their draft mango margarita it was not bad. Chips with 3 salsas was good. Beef tacos were bad, the only dish with egg was a rice bowl with kimchi it was ok. Service was good. Have a potential to be good spot if the kitchen kick it up a notch Fun fact in the middle of the wall a framed picture of the attorney that looks like an old porn star Ron Jeremy

We were excited to visit Grand Castor, especially after hearing about their brunch menu, only to be disappointed to learn they no longer offer it. The decor, however, is undeniably Instagram-worthy, and we were amused to discover that their lawyer has ensured a quirky homage to Ron Jeremy prominently displayed in the restaurant--a fun and unexpected touch! He wrote it into their contract. LOL. The service was quick and friendly, but the food didn't live up to expectations. My tortilla soup was essentially broth-less, and the tuna on my salad didn't seem fresh--I left half of it behind. The beef tacos, which should be renamed "hamburger tacos with unmelted cheese," fell flat even with the kid, who didn't finish one. Grand Castor has a fun atmosphere and great service, but the food left us underwhelmed. With a little more attention to quality and detail in the kitchen, it could be as memorable as its decor.

Loved the decor and an ambiance! There are 2 different seating rooms - one has a great big fire pit and cacti, and the other all sort of pink and shiny! There is a strange retro looking portrait of a man in the main room ;). Waiter told us an interesting story behind it.. food was somewhat hit or miss. My rice bowl was excellent! My friend's beef tacos - were not. Overall I liked this place especially on a cold Sunday- with a drink and a fire pit going

I came here about a month ago, so excited since it's been months since last coming here. I was craving nachos + trying their new brunch menu. I arrived on a Sunday morning near 11:30 and was the second table to sit down. There was no more brunch menu, the service was super slow (it took 15+ minutes just to get water and another 20 for the server to come back and take orders), and the nachos were subpar to say the least. I was really disheartened after this visit and I'm not sure when I'll come back, but probably not during a weekend morning.

I visited specifically for the Christmas pop-up bar, and the decorations were super cute and festive. The holiday cocktails were pretty good too. I was planning to order tacos, but our waiter recommended trying the pizza since that's their specialty. I created my own, and it was good. My only issue is that I wish the waiter had mentioned that adding a side of Peruvian green chili sauce would cost around $3--I would've taken it to go with my leftover pizza!

Such a cute atmosphere! Cozy and chic. Great food, especially the enchiladas. Drinks are fantastic. Service is nice. Not sure why this place isn't more popular

I didn't have a good experience here, the food wasn't good and the service wasn't that great neither. I was with a party of 8. And one of the people in my party order this spicy burrito but when I said it was hot it was so hot that you couldn't even enjoy it and then the server had the nerve to give a her a hard and said they couldn't take it off the bill and give her something different even though she only took 1 bite. I ordered the chicken and steak burrito it was very bland and the beans didn't seem fully cooked. I would not go back here. Only if I had to come here for a party but I probably wouldn't eat.

We enjoyed it! Only complaint the times are not served as indicated on the menu. Example: menu says lime and cilantro rice; it's lime rice and tastes like white rice. Very basic. The donuts indicate Mexican chocolate and caramel as dipping sauces but it only came with caramel. The caramel was cold too; that's a no no with a warm donut. I wasn't told these things before ordering and had to ask once they came to table. The chocolate chip cookie was nothing special. Crispellis's has theeee best chocolate chip cookies ever; always ask for them to be served warm or heat it up at home! Delicious! The elote pizza was so delicious! Full of flavor and crust is perfect. The tacos, guacamole, mango margaritas were very good. We will return just for the pizza and donuts! Yummmyyyy

The reviews are not wrong. I expect so much more from Union Joints. Pros: The decor is eclectic and interesting. Parking lot. Veggie options. Happy hour from 4-6. Cons: painfully slow service. Not enough vegan options. Back bar closed. Would love to see this place get more help and be more attentive to customers.

Very cute and trendy place in Troy! Went this past weekend but they were understaffed and the 3 people working there were very sweet and kept us updated if anything was going to be delayed. I got the shrimp and chicken tacos which were flavorful! Unfortunately the tea latte was a little cold but I think it's because our waiter also had to make all of ours and just got delayed since it was busy so definitely not her fault. There is a cute fireplace area and a separate room to rent out for private events. Definitely would go back next time I am in the area!

    Are there Vegan options?

Yes! My friend is vegan and loves their jackfruit tacos!

Are there any seafood options? Seems to lack variety for pescatarians and vegetarians besides just jackfruit

I think the only fish they have as of now is tuna. You can opt for tuna in the burrito instead of chicken or beef. I will say the last time I dined in was a few months ago. They could very well have other fish options by now. Hope this helps

Could I stay and study here?

Maybe on a couch in the coffee shop area. But it is small. Further inside there is a nice lounge area with fireplace but it gets pretty loud. It's near bar 1 of 2.

    Is there a kids menu?

    Yes

However after placing our order on the screen, the two iced latte drinks came out with no espresso added? Apparently on the ordering screen you have to CHOOSE to add espresso, which is counterintuitive because then it's just sugar milk. Anyways that was fixed and my bubble fruit tea was good. I appreciate all the ways to personalize the tea and it's Good that they have non dairy drinks options! The staff person kinda awkwardly set the tray on our table and left - she didn't hand out the drinks to us, which is kind of weird? The cake we ordered took awhile to come out even though it was right there in the display - and I even inquired about it. we were done with our drinks by the time it came out - so it wasn't great timing and we were just over it. The spoons were cute but way too small to enjoy anything - my kiddo liked it though for a few bites. I feel like this was just for ambience and not really sustenance, not sure if I would come back. Maybe for the noodles or other foods but there's lot of other options nearby! They also advertise pizza on their front sign but I didn't see any on the inside menu...? Easy lot parking - watch out for the large pothole up front though!

Renee's has been a trusted spot in our home for years because they make it so easy to order safely. They clearly list all ingredients and allergens on their website, and as someone who deals with gluten and dairy restrictions, I genuinely appreciate that level of care. This time, I ordered through DoorDash and the food arrived quickly and still warm. We tried a variety of things, and one of the standouts was the deep-dish meat lovers pizza with vegan cheese. The crust had that chewy texture I've deeply missed since going gluten-free. It held up beautifully under layers of sauce, melty vegan cheese, and a generous helping of toppings. Bold, rich, and hearty. The chicken wrap surprised me--in a good way. It had a satisfying chew and was packed with toppings and flavor. I also got their cheese flatbread, which had a crispy edge and that deliciously soft center. Now, the fries? Not great. Soggy and under seasoned. My son picked at them but didn't ask for more. Definitely not their strong suit. But the elephant ears made up for it. Warm, sweet, lightly crisp, and topped with just the right amount of icing--they were the perfect way to end the meal.

As a New Haven pizza fan, the REAL kind, I was extremely disappointed. I know that after having eaten the real New Haven (Pepe's, Sally's, and Modern), I need to tighten down my expectations, but come on! They have these beautiful ovens, a nice, clean, and pleasant place and they turn out what I would consider pizza no better, perhaps a little less good than Hungry Howies thin crust pizza! New Haven is supposed to be crispy and chewy, NOT soggy. I tried Farmington Hills a few months ago and ate in, then last week tried Birmingham and carried out. For those of you thinking that my carry-out experience may have been bad due to the 3 miles I had to drive home, but I've carried out a LOT of pies from a LOT of locations, and I DO take that into account. There are some positives: The ingredients were impeccable. Fresh, high-quality cheese and the mushrooms were done really well. The pepperoni was of good quality but nothing worth writing home about. There are a lot of great pepperonis in the area. The doneness was great. It wasn't over- or undercooked. The flavor was good, but not, as some have said, amazing. In both cases, the crust was limp and soggy, NOT chewy and crispy. Not in the least. I don't mind if it's a little bit floppy, but not like this. An analogy I might give is to compare Tomatoes Apizza to Modern Apizza in actual New Haven is like comparing Jets Pizza to Loui's. Jet's is fine, but Loui's! (If you know, you know). To me, Modern in New Haven is at par, and not to be sacrilegious to our beloved Detroit Style, with Loui's or Palazzo Di Pizza, so it's not a style issue. My two experiences were both the same, so I don't know what to think. I'll give them one more try at some point.
