i am a resident in naperville and have written a review a few days ago. however, i must correct and add some tips for the public to consider, including some tips for other customers. my previous review mentioned jaime as the professional installer who did a fantastic job. but i got the name wrong. jaime was just the driver of grand's subcontractor. i was unable to obtain the name of this unusually competent and professional installer whose company only installed gas ranges - this installer alone i give 5 stars. i also give dave lenart the salesperson 5 stars for helping me pick the brand and model i preferred with the right features with knowledge, patience and professionalism. nathan and jj whose installation was most excellent - but they were not from grand's other subcontractor who only install otr microwave which i also bought the model dave helped me choose. nathan and jj were grand's own employees who are 'fixers'. i was lucky they were sent instead of grand's subcontractors. i was most satisfied with their service. tips: customers should videotape all installation services from grand's subcontractors to ensure they do their jobs right. 1. starte video when delivery and installation workers arrive by asking their names, every one of them. 2. before they do anything, tell them, on video, and their performance at your home will be videotaped. they will then think twice about being unprofessional. 3. tell them all tapes and paper inside the appliance must be removed first, before the installation begin and leave the new appliance away from any drilling that needed to do especially for the otr microwave. 4. tell them they must use tape measure and a level to correctly drill the holes on walls and your overhead cabinet for the otr microwave to fit properly both vertically and horizontally. 5. then let them begin while continue to videotape them. things to make sure all installers do after basic installations: a. double-door fridge must be balanced with a level in order for the doors to work right with the flap in the right places. this require the adjustment of the legs of the fridge on the bottom. then the use of the level on top of the fridge to ensure proper balance plus the opening and closing of the double doors left side and right-side work right as the flap will automatically move to get the doors shut properly without manually adjust the flap to hold the otherside of the door tight. if you have to manually readjudt the flap, it's not balances. installer must keep on adjusting the legs of fridge until the door flap works right. b. gas range or stove installation need a handhold gas detector by the installer to ensure secured connection to the gas range or stove. then balance it with a level. next, installer must test all burners and the oven are working by turning them on and then off. some models reequires running the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes before use to cook food, which the good installer i didn't get the name from grands verbally gave me this instruction, despite the manual did nto mention this. he also said this was to burn the smoke off from the coating for safety of cooking yoiur food, and windows must be open when you do this to let the smoke out. c. for otr micrawave installation, installer must measure the width and the height the will align evenly with the bottom of your cabinet. that a level must be used to ensure the bracket behind your wall where the back bottom of the otr microwave will sit securely with proper numbers of screws to secure the bracket. also, befoere taking the new otr microwave to the bracket on your wall, the installer must measure the new holes a new model of the otr you bought that are located in different places from your existing or old one. installer migh need to drill new holes on the bottom of your walled cabinet to properly install your new otr microw. make sure the new otr is nowhere near when installers are drilling the holes on your cabinets, which may include widening the whole for the new plug in electrical cord. only when they finished drilling and clean of all sawdusts from inside the cabinet - and the cover they put on your stove to prevent any debris from drilling holes on your wall or cabinet before bringing the new otr microwave to the wall and under your cabinet ---note: put your own towels or drop cloth over your stove before the installers arrive -and then they have a special cloth to put on top of your towel covered stove. otherwise, the sawdust will cover all over your stove and it's hard to clean them off. the installer's cloth is not big enough to cover your entire stove. therefore, cover up your stove before they show up. finally, if grand's subcontractors scoffed at your videotapiing or they missed a step that you demanded and voiced your objection, and the installers hollered at you that they knew what they were doing but refusiing to take the orderly steps, tell them to stop and leave and show the video to store. read more
