We visited this restaurant twice during our trip, and the experiences were completely different each time. On our first visit, we were helped by a young man who provided outstanding service. He did everything he could to make us feel welcome, kept a positive attitude, and genuinely worked to ensure we were happy with our meals. If anything seemed off, he addressed it immediately and made sure it was corrected. That experience alone left such a strong impression that it's the reason we decided to return a second time--and even brought a larger group with us. Our second visit, however, was much more complicated. We had a group of five people, and while that isn't excessively large, we were surprised to see an automatic gratuity added to the bill without being informed ahead of time. Since everyone in our group was paying separately, we would have simply split into smaller checks had we known. Even after a few people in our group raised concerns and asked questions about the bill, the situation was not clearly explained or resolved in a helpful way. Another issue arose when the food arrived. There were a few items that certain people at the table could not eat or did not like. When we asked about returning or exchanging those items, our waitress said she did not want to take them back to the kitchen because she didn't want to get in trouble. As a result, we ended up paying for food that was not eaten, not taken home, and ultimately just sat on the table. I'm not sure if this was due to internal pressure about food waste or a lack of willingness to help, but it was frustrating--especially since we had paid extra for some of those items. Additionally, during the second visit, our waitress was not very familiar with the menu. A couple of people in our group had dietary restrictions, and she frequently had to go back to the kitchen to ask someone else for clarification. To be fair, she was still polite and kind throughout the experience, and all of the food came out very quickly. As for the food itself--it was excellent both times. The fried rice from our first visit was amazing. On the second visit, the glass noodles were tremendously good, and the fried chicken was spectacular--very juicy and full of flavor. Aside from the items we couldn't eat, the quality of the food was consistently impressive. Would I recommend going back? That's honestly a tough call. If the service matched our first visit, I would absolutely recommend this place without hesitation--that experience alone was a 10 out of 10 and the reason we returned. If the service mirrored our second visit, however, I would not recommend it. Ultimately, it depends on what you value most. If service is very important to you, your experience may vary. If you are primarily focused on the food, then it's worth visiting--the food is genuinely excellent. Go for the food, not the service, and hope you get a great server that day. If I were to average both visits together, I would rate the service at about 75%. If I were judging solely on the first visit, it would be 100% without question. As for the food, it earns a solid 100%, excluding the items we couldn't eat--not because they were bad, but because they were never consumed despite still being charged. Overall, this place has incredible food but inconsistent service, and that inconsistency ultimately defines the experience.
Wok Chi is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Overall, everything I've ever ordered has been great. Food is consistently good, takeout packaged well, special order notes followed, etc. One of my go to takeout meals from here.
100% THE BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN THE CITY. They offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, but the general tso tofu is the best general tso tofu I ever had-- spicy and packed with flavors, I can tell they use fresh and authentic ingredients. I did take out, but I recommend you dine in to feel the ambiance and enjoy your food properly. The restaurant is beautiful inside with colorful lighting and service is always great with kind and helpful workers!
While visiting my daughter in Atlanta, it was late, we were hungry so we searched for something that was still open after 9 . I found this place on yelp and did a takeout order. We both ordered the pork fried rice and pork egg rolls. The rice was a good texture, flavor could have been better. The pork was plentiful. The price was decent for the amount given. The pork egg rolls had more cabbage than pork. They were just okay. The service was fast, the place seemed clean and convenient for the college students nearby.
I was in the area for a friend's birthday and I was hungryyyyyyyyy. As I was heading to my car I passed Wok Chi. Their QR menu was on the window so I scanned it. After taking a scroll I decided to place an order. Walking in, the restaurant is very clean and made great use of the space. The bar is directly in front of you and the tables are to your right. It's very cute with a simple design and a few eye-catching placements throughout the area. I walked up to the ordering area and was immediately greeted. The young lady was very pleasant and welcoming. I placed my order for 6 Wings, Thai Chili, with Pork Fried Rice, paid and took a seat at the bar to wait on my food. The ambiance is very chill. The music was at a perfect volume as I was still able to hear my conversation, the staff was laughing and engaging with one another, and the bar seats were super comfortable. My food arrived and was super fresh. As I placed my order to go, I was excited that I could smell my food through the container. Opening my container, the visual appeal was nice. The plate was well packed and the portion size was perfect for the price point of the meal. Now... the Food! The wings were amazing. Though they were light in color, they were crispy on the outside and juicy and hot on the inside. The flavor profile of the Thai Chili sat well on the fresh wings. The sweetness wasn't too sweet and put me in the mind of a honey glaze. The chili flakes were present but not too spicy. There were some good wings. I would definitely come back for more. The rice was a bit too eggy for me. I'm accustomed to egg being in fried rice, however, the eggs overpowered the rice and pork. After two bites I was unable to adjust to the over-powering egg presence and decided not to eat the rice. All in all, I'll be back for the wings.
yum! i was searching for a late night option in west midtown that offered vegan options. this was the perfect choice. such a cute spot with some delicious food. i had the general tso tofu with fried rice. i loooved the kick it has to it. also ordered the vegan dumplings pan fried which was good but i wasn't head over heels for the garlic soy sauce they served with it and you can only order large sauce portions. the beautiful thing i learned is everything's made in house and made to order. very authentic and very fresh. love that. service was decent too. but i wouldn't say they were eager to serve anyone. still, the verdict is i would def go back. specifically for the general tso tofu
I got the shrimp fried rice combo with six Thai chili wings. It was sooooo good and the to-go service was good as well
It was a cold rainy Friday night so take out was a good idea. We ordered: - fried rice - white rice - shrimp lo mein - orange chicken - egg drop soup - crab Rangoon's We ended up enjoying everything. The service was pretty good and this place gets very busy. The parking isn't bad at all. The yum yum sauce is definitely different but I enjoyed it. I didn't really enjoy the crab Rangoon's I thought they'd be crispy more but they were soggy. The lighting in here is dim, but really cool. I'd come here for take out again.
I was surprised at how amazing the food taste, so much flavor and spice in it! The waiter was very friendly and informative. The scenery was clean and neat, I might have to take my girl there one day.

Good customer service, I had the general tso's chicken with a order of eggrolls. Everything was fantastic really good authentic Chinese food. I will say the portions are kind of small for the prices but overall still good food and quality. read more

I ordered here for to go! I enjoyed the area Wok Chi is located in and honestly didn't know it existed. The restaurant was clean and the staff were attentive when I entered. We ordered the LP wings, Mongolian beef and sesame chicken with fried rice. I found the fried rice to be underwhelming. My Mongolian beef was on the sweeter side, which was ok but I'm used to it being a little more spicy. The sesame chicken was average as well. The star of the show were the LP wings. They were large, crispy and flavorful. I would be open to trying this place again! read more

100% THE BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN THE CITY. Was visiting Atlanta and decided to try this place based on the reviews. They did not disappoint. Omg. I had the Hong Kong Beef Ho Fun, I have never tasted anything like this in my life. lol we don't have that here in VA (or at least I've never known to look for it but I will now). The beef was cooked to perfection, portions were so good, full of flavor. 10 out of 10. I almost ordered a second one just to bring back home but I didn't want big back in my future read more

I've been twice in two days. Found them on yelp trying to find late nite Chinese Food. They are open to midnight but at about 10:30pm they were no longer accepting online orders I got there about 11pm and the crowd inside was more like a lunch time vibe instead of 11pm munchies. Its pricey, if you're looking for cheap chinese food this isn't it. The first time my tab was $33 and the second time it was $53 both before tip. My first time I had the shrimp with green beans. I was eating the string beans by hand walking out the door. This dish comes with a side of plain fried rice or white rice. I also had an order of crab ragoons There isn't much that can be done to improve those but these are airy crispy and full of flavor. My second time I ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp spring rolls and seafood lo mein. At the time I'm writing this I've eaten both spring rolls and a large portion of the lo mein. The lo mein had large scallops, shrimp and crab meat. All the seafood is plentiful, fresh and full sized pieces. Sadly all I can show of that is my empty bowl. Tried to order a side of green beans but sadly they aren't offered as a side so I went with steamed broccoli. I'm going back Sunday to try the brisket soup, so expect an updated post soon read more
This is a good late night food option. We went on a Friday looking for somewhere open late. The place was clean and they validated parking. No bells and whistle. Just normal restaurant with tables and booths. The service was good for the most part. The biggest issue we had was someone's food not coming til when the rest of us were finished. We had to go up to the waitress to find out what happened. It was just shrimp fried rice. The best thing was the crab Rangoon! They definitely make them fresh. I have the crispy fish and it was full of flavor. I got the side of fried rice and it was so horrible. No veggies. I mean can I get come peas and carrot in it. I was hard and bland. Walked in and was a bit confused at first on if we seat ourselves or wait for someone to seat us. We ended up seating ourselves which wasn't a big deal. The service was good. The food was also pretty good. My favorite meal was the Kung Pao Shrimp, it had a lot of kick so be prepared for spice. read more

I really do not recommend this place. I hate giving bad reviews BUT when I end up throwing out the food it is because the food is bad. Considering all the positive reviews I was hype to see this place pop up. General tsos tofu was so spicy it came with chili's inside and it was insanely hot, they never even asked for spice level. The scallion pancake was dripping with oil and the vegetarian dumplings were not tasty at all. I don't recommend coming here. Staff is very sweet though so that's a plus. Open late with positive reviews I def fell into the trap of bad takeout. read more

The place is super clean and neat & open late which is plus. No crazy smells or overly loud talking from the other patrons. The service was splendid I even asked the waitress to go to the back and get the chef so I could kiss him in the mouth lol The crab ragoon was too much cheese not enough crab for my liking. The star of the show is the beef noodles! I loved them so much they have a forever customer in me. It was savory with a hint of sweet. Writing the review is making me hungry! I can't remember the last time I left a negative review but this was so bad it warranted it. If you have ever had even remotely good Asian food, do NOT ORDER from this restaurant. I asked for the least spicy option of massaman curry and it made my lips burn. My aunt, who loves spicy food, tasted it and yelped it was so spicy. Also it was the most thinned out, watery massaman curry I've ever had. There's also NO tofu or eggplant in the dish whatsoever. To be completely honest, its probably the worst massaman curry I've ever had. Also it says it's $13.50 on the menu but you HAVE to choose a protein ($4-6) so it's at least $17.50....and it's SO NOT WORTH THAT PRICE it is ridiculous. The chicken and green beans was only "ok" - the green beans were FAR too over-cooked and flavorless. The chicken was way too salty. The ratio of chicken to green bean was maybe 1:4 (overwhelmingly green bean). The side of fried ride was literally bare rice with some soy sauce in it....and yet it's $1 extra. This was my first time here at this establishment...it was recommended from one of my coaches on my coaching staff...I walked in an it was very clean and spacious....they have great customer service and the vibe was perfect...with great music....the food was great....i ordered the chicken fried rice with garlic wings and extra duck sauce lol....i will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu an dine in next time..... read more

Came to wok chi as this is the only restaurant open late in downtown Atlanta. I was excited seeing that the reviews were nice. It's open seating so sit wherever. The menu is contactless as well. So why the one star? Pad Thai was lackluster. Like it wasn't disgusting but it also wasn't oooh girl let me have some more. The service wasn't good either. I had to ask about forgotten food orders. No one checked in on us either. read more

The reviews had me excited to try this place and the food photos are enticing. However, my experience today was very disappointing. I took photos too and the food may look photogenic but I assure you the food did not taste as good as it looked. I ordered the Sesame Chicken which was overcooked and tasted burnt. The Cantonese Roast Duck was very dry. The fried rice was extremely bland! The Fried Chicken Wings was also bland, and the Yakisoba noodles with Shrimp was the only item that wasn't bad. $70 on dinner tonight was not worth it. I won't order here again. read more
