Grand Lux Café -- Big Space, Big Portions, Big Win This was a great find. We stopped by the Grand Lux Café to share lunch with one of my mom's first cousins while we were in town for a family event. When we arrived, the restaurant felt almost empty -- but that's only because the place is huge. In a smaller restaurant, the same number of people would've had the place packed to the gills. The decor immediately caught my attention. It gave me Cheesecake Factory vibes mixed with a touch of European flair. Lots of cement pillars, reliefs up top, and floors that looked like marble (though I'm pretty sure it was tile). Either way, it worked. The space felt grand without feeling cold. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and the food was delicious -- which is really all you can ask for. This is definitely going on my list of go-to spots when I'm visiting the area again. This place would be perfect for large family gatherings or group meals. On our way out, I noticed a really nice bar area that looked ideal for small group meetups or quick lunch meetings. It felt versatile -- whether you're there to linger or just grab a bite. Now let's talk dessert. Right at the front entrance is a full dessert display where you can buy slices of cakes and pies -- or possibly the whole thing to take home. That part really reminded me of the Cheesecake Factory. And the food portions? Almost obscene. Generous doesn't even fully cover it. Huge plates, bold flavors, and nothing tasted bland. Maybe it's something in the Texas water, or maybe Texans just like their food rich and flavorful -- either way, my California taste buds didn't even need to reach for the salt. It's been a long time since I've been to Grand Lux Cafe. Went for a family dinner to celebrate a special graduation. The service was amazing! They were able to handle so many questions and requests for our party of lucky number 13. The food was okay. Salads were fresh. My salmon three ways was okay, but not hot and the flavors were off. Would not get this again. Key lime pie which I shared with two others was also okay. My sister-in-law did not like her tiramisu in a cup. I was fairly impressed with this place during a recent lunch visit, which was my first time to eat here. Our server was excellent, and the atmosphere resembled that of a far more expensive restaurant -- minus the sewer smell as I walked down the long corridor to the restroom. I had the Thai Caramel Chicken, and it was tasty. The rice, however, was stiff and almost crunchy, as if it had been overcooked or warmed up from the day before. The portion was huge. For longest time I thought Grand Lux Cafe was an adult entertainment center. I drove by dozens of times. I just never stepped in. Yesterday, my friends from my toastmasters club decided to eat here after the meeting. Getting here was no problem. There was about an hour before closing. The waitress was friendly and never rushed us. I ordered Chicken Lettuce Warps because I'm on the keto diet on Mondays. I drank water with no ice. It was perfectly room temperature. Went to this location on Christmas Eve with coworkers as part of our yearly Christmas get together lunch during Christmas 2025. I had the Grand Lux Lemonade and enjoyed the double stuffed spring rolls. The crispy calamari was delicious as well The New Orleans beignets were really good and came with chocolate and vanilla dip. We had a big party celebrating a birthday. It was a Saturday and I expected more people at the location. This restaurant is owned by the same company as Cheesecake Factory. The ambience and style is the same as Cheesecake Factory. The menu items are similar as well. The food was good but was slow to come. I got the buffalo wings as an appetizer for the table and garlic shrimp pasta as my entree. Both were satisfying. There were several large parties which made up for the bulk of the population at the restaurant; nevertheless, our server was very slow and seemed impatient anytime she came to the table. They don't take reservations on Saturdays and Sundays but again even with our party of 13, the wait didn't exceed 30 minutes. It was also a big night at rodeo so this may have had something to do with the crowd being low. Extremely disappointed. The food was terrible -- the shrimp was badly overcooked and completely ruined the dish. Management was just as bad as the food. I had a reservation for 4:30 PM and my party was not seated until after 5:00 PM. The manager blamed it on being short-staffed, which is not the customer's problem, especially when reservations are accepted. There was no apology, no urgency, and no attempt to make things right. I believe when ordering food to go it's better leave the sauces in the side so the bread doesn't get soggy. However the tuna was fresh and it still was a good tasting burger. I was really excited to find out there was a Grand Lux Cafe so close to home as this restaurant is pretty popular in Las Vegas. It is a "sister" restaurant of the Cheesecake Factory, so it has a very similar vibe. The restaurant seemed to be large & was very pretty based on what I could see from my table in the bar area. The hostesses and our waiter were nice & friendly. I really appreciate the variety of options offered in their menu. I thought my drink was good and our appetizers were really unique & yummy! As far as our actual entrees go, they were very average. Not bad, but not great either. I think the price for these few pieces of steak with French fries is way too high. Everyone in Vegas raves about the beignets so I was excited to try them, but they weren't anything special and neither were the sauces they were served with. We came in to celebrate my friends birthday, it was my first time dinning here. We were a party of 9 people. Before I talk about the food, I'm going to talk about the service first. After we ordered our cocktails, about 15 min go by I ask our server if this restaurant provides any complimentary bread? His response "We provide bread to those who ask for it." I responded "okay, can we have some bread please?" As a server, you see we are a bigger party and you know we are celebrating a birthday, would you not think to offer bread when we arrived and ordered our drinks? Another 10-12 minutes pass, I'm pretty hungry so I grab the servers attention and ask "excuse me, did you hear me when I asked for bread?" His response "Yes, I'm just getting more important things out right now." And then he proceeds to hand us our cocktails and then goes and grabs the bread. I found that response to be Rude, to tell me "there's more important" things he's grabbing when he could have just said "it's coming out shortly." Now for the cocktails, me and the birthday girl got sangrias. They were okay, it tasted a bit bitter, like that bitter pre sliced apple taste. The sangria was not my cup of tea. However...... the expresso martini 10/10! It was really good, one of the best expressos I have ever had! For appetizers, we ordered the buffalo chicken egg rolls with ranch. They were good, I think they could be a little more crispy and the filling a bit more chicken, but a solid appetizer. The inside was pretty cheesy/creamy. The ranch served with it was great, I love me some good ranch. Now, I'm going to break down the my plate and some of the plates the people in my group ordered and I had gotten to try. I ordered the Madeira Chicken, which comes with a mushroom Madeira sauce, topped with asparagus and served with mashed potatoes. The chicken and mushroom sauce was so good and the mashed potatoes were so buttery and garlicky! It was really good and portion was big! I couldn't finish it, so I packed it to go. But wait? I just remembered, what about the asparagus? I looked at my plate, there was maybe 2-3 of the tiniest pieces of asparagus I had ever seen. I did not take a bit of any asparagus before I packed up my plate. That was disappointing, I love asparagus. The birthday girl ordered and let me try her Chicken Royal. Breaded fried chicken in white wine sauce served with veggies and mashed potatoes. The chicken could use more seasoning, it was a little bland for my liking. But the dish was solid. The "Beef Wellington" was........ interesting to say the least. The last thing we expected when our friend ordered this dish was for a plate of sliders to be brought out. This "beef Wellington" was nothing but steak patties topped with puff pastries. Nothing about this gives beef Wellington! He said the meat was good, but.... Come on now? I got to try the spicy vodka pasta from a friends plate. It was good, definitely spicy! Had a nice kick to it. If you're in the mood for a good spicy pasta I would recommend this, it also comes with Italian sausage with it. But the star of the show was, THE CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN!!! I was told by my friend who ordered it that this is the only thing she gets when she comes here and I see why. The chicken is seasoned perfectly and the gravy that comes with it is so good. Way better than the chicken royal. That paired with the already tasty mashed potatoes 10/10 meal. Over all food and service, I would not be coming back here for dinner unless it's for another birthday dinner. While I have dined at Grand Alix in the last, and it's a lovely dining experience, I recently ordered to-go from them, and I was quite impressed with the order. This was a late night order, probably 30min from close, and everything was prepared in a timely manner, the ingredients were fresh, and the food delicious I have always been impressed with the portion sizes at Grand Lux, and I was curious if those same portions would translate to a to-go order. They absolutely did. The to-go attendants and chefs even thought to add a few slices of their complimentary dinner service bread with nicely packaged butter packets. They thought of everything from silverware to separated components so things wouldn't get soggy. Definitely consider them next time you want to eat out. As far as Galleria area restaurants this one actually has decent parking, a lively yet sophisticated atmosphere, great service, and incredible food. Some tips: If you like salads, their Crispy Avocado Salad is not only healthy and hearty, but it's also one of the most delicious salads I've ever had. The honey lime dressing is incredible. Unfortuntely the food portions have shrunk although I will give the compant credit for keeping prices the same or similar. For example if I ordered sausage with the French Toast, I would get 4 links. Now I get either 2 or 3 links. The optional strawberries on the french toast are nearly a garnish; I did not get a substantial amount of fruit. The real problem is the dirty food display case in the front lobby of the restautant. It was salmon and it came with potatoes and broccoli. I subbed potatoes with roasted Brussel sprouts ( pic attached). I asked for it medium rare but our server indicated that they couldn't do that since it wasn't sushi grade but said she'd work with the kitchen to cook it so it wasn't dry (overcooked). Wow, where do I start? I actually started coming to this restaurant when CompUSA was still open, and they closed down the FAO Schwartz Toy store. Actually, no bread was offered at all, but he was sure to ask if we wanted dessert when we were done . I took about five bites of my food, and then put it into a doggy box. There was 2 issues I noticed the tables were not getting cleaned quick enough to service your guests so that might have been due to being short staffed. The other issue was that I asked for syrup before my order came out and it was never brought to the table which resulted in the waitress advising me that they were out at the moment and it might not be made by the time I finish my meal. The manager was advised and he brought the syrup out immediately. Please know that customer service is everything and all the waitress had to do was check before giving incorrect info. I met a friend for lunch here one Saturday. The parking is plentiful depending on the time you arrive. It was rainy this day and Ives's lucky to get a spot closer to their door. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks that the bartender suggested while we waited on our food to arrive and they were very good. My friend is a vegan and there were options for him to enjoy. We both had a cup of gumbo and a salmon entree. They were very good and filling. We didn't go for dessert as we were pretty full from our meal.
