I've had dinner here before for their remodel a year ago and it was candidly kinda meh and definitely over-priced. Had a business meeting here again so we ate here late on a Sunday night and surprising how busy the bar and restaurant was. Definitely better experience this time, the ceasar salad was nicely dressed and fresh with crunchy little bites. The chicken breast was moist, well seasoned and very flavorful with a rich jus sauce. Complemented with some nice squash and winter greens. Quite tasty and definitely much better than I was expecting. Prices aren't cheap as they kinda know they've got you if you're eating here, but at least the food was tasty. read more

The resturant had a calming aura to it, which attracted me to it. Upon arrival we were greates with smiles. The server was very friendly. Me and my friend got the Globalist to start off our dining...definitely a good one if you endured flight disruption and needed something to wind down. "Make It Another Old Fashioned, Please" - Julie London. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt and wanted to get some drinks and something to eat but didn't want to wander into the airport terminal and go through TSA, our flight was also the next day so I don't know how it works to get back in once you go through. Grand Met is connected to the Grand Hyatt on the same floor as the check in lobby. We didn't want to order dinner as the prices seemed a bit high. We just wanted some fancy drinks and appetizers. Drinks: Grand Fashioned $19 So far the best Old Fashioned we have had, anywhere. Drinks: Texas Rose $18 Hibiscus-infused Tito's Vodka, strawberry puree, grapefruit, fresh lemon juice, Provence Rose. It was good, but the Grand Fashioned was better. I really regret not trying the Pecan Old Fashioned, darn. I couldn't bring myself to pay $17 for a margarita, since I had the fabulously refreshing and super strong margaritas for $6 at City Limits earlier for lunch (see my review for City Limits, Sherman, TX). Appetizer: Cowboy Candy $14 Pecan Crust Baguette with whipped cream cheese and candied jalapenos, honey drizzled all over the cream cheese. It was both sweet and deliciously savory; the baguette had a nice smoky flavor that was not overpowering. The size of the appetizer was a very good deal. I also ate a burger and couldn't finish this app by myself, took it to go. Still dreaming of this appetizer, so fabulous! Hand Helds: Impossible Burger $21 Nice option to swap out the meat for a fake-meat burger. Nothing special. The bun a bit greasy, but otherwise OK. Ambience: pretty nice and fancy, pretty dark. We had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. Across from us in the seated bar area were people mostly wearing business suits, to tourists like us in jeans, a family with a stroller waiting for their flight. Bathroom: super nice. One toilet stall for the ladies. Smelled really nice in there. I need to invent an app where you can "search" for a smell. They do use a lot of Balmain products in the hotel room, so it could have been it. Return Factor: 100% yes. If we are ever in at the DFW airport, will make this the first place to grab a drink and some apps before heading out. read more

Staff is stellar no doubt about it, the folk here really trust each other and at least to my limited observations seem to not mind working here. Over the couple days I stayed I enjoyed everything I had with minor complaints. The chef really, real likes to incorporate sun dried tomatoes, The choice of the knives weird off center handle is mildly irritating and finally although beautiful in presentation the use of a cast iron skillet for the frittata resulted in a dish that was overcooked, hard to cut and rubbery in texture. Actually let me revisit my line about enjoying everything, I did not enjoy the frittata. It wasn't all bad but the execution was not all good. Decore in the dining area looks like an upscale Panera bread/st.louis bread co.. I was surprised to see one of the most filthy rugs underneath my and other patrons feet. Even though the Grand Met restaurant has temporarily relocated to a lower level conference ballroom, the breakfast buffet food and service is still excellent. An oasis from the chaos of the airport terminal, we enjoyed a relaxed buffet breakfast with custom prepared egg white omelettes. Their selection of pastries, bagels, cereals and fresh fruit is very nice. Although the breakfast buffet is a bit pricey, considering the quality and friendly service, it beats anything available in the D terminal. read more

I flew into DFW and had a bit of a wait for my travel companion, so I walked to the Grand Hyatt for breakfast. The hotel is connected to the airport and is an easy walk if you want to sit and relax away from the airport. I ordered an omelette, one pancake, and a hazelnut latte. The omelette was good but accompanying potatoes were bland, big and not enjoyable at all. The pancake and latte were both delicious! Service was great and I enjoyed the peacefulness in the restaurant. This was the perfect way to spend some extra time and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. read more

I've been here a couple times. Most recently I ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. The dressing was delicious and the salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It looked burnt and dry but boy was I surprised when I cut into it. I wouldn't order it with the sun dried tomatoes again but that's a personal choice and the Parmesan crisps were perfect. I asked if I could add any other veggies to it and I got a hard no so that was unfortunate but otherwise it was really good! read more

Had been here once before when it seemed mostly sushi-related and a lot more $$$. The menu seems to be more diverse now and, while not cheap, it's more in line with other non-hotel fine dining locations. Being so close to home and with very accessible airport parking with validation made for a very short, easy walk to the escalator just inside the terminal door. While the lounge area feels a bit "hotel lobby lounge", once you pass the host station into the main dining room you'd think you were in a non-hotel restaurant. And the food was quite good! The wife was flying out and I wasn't. Her flight was delayed by a couple of hours, we were in Terminal D and we had some time to kill, but didn't have enough time to leave the airport to grab a bite and come back. I couldn't get through airport security where 95% of the food options are located. What to do...sit at the bar at the Grand Met or find this Starbucks some people told us existed while others said it didn't. We opted to come grab a seat at the Grand Met bar. We had a couple of drinks, split a burger, fries and salad, and somehow managed to spend $60 bucks after tip (a bit of sticker shock). The bartender Scott was great, though, I did happen to notice our unique split for two burger ready to be run to the table as I was coming back from the (exquisitely clean) bathroom. Our food didn't get to us until 7-8 minutes later. The fries were lukewarm, the salad and burger were great. The burger was cooked to order and the salad was amazingly fresh and tasty. Scott knew we were splitting it and had the kitchen plate the portions separately, which was great. All and all, it was a pleasantly memorable experience. If we'd be able to get through security to eat at a less fine dining experience (and pay far less), that's what we'd have done. In this instance, other options were practically nonexistent. I enjoyed this hangout spot. It was great for what we needed at the time. Don't forget to grab some hotel freebie goodies on the way to the escalator. Inside the Grand Hyatt at Terminal D / DFW, up the escalator by hotel check-in. This is a great spot outside of TSA security to meet friends traveling through DFW. We visited mid-day so had some really good lounge food - Pizza flatbread, guacamole & some super gourmet bread with farmers cheese. Beautiful location with a huge wine wall, some private meeting space and an open-air kitchen. Great service / great meeting spot! FYI - bring your cash $$$$$. read more

Came through for a conference at the airport and decided we needed some second breakfast after a small helping of eggs at 6 am was insufficient to tame the beast that is my stomach. The place is nicely set up. Modern and relaxed. Nice servers for me some delightful tea and sides of bacon and sausage - we hung out between sessions for about an 90 minutes so it was pig fest intermittently! Both we good, bacon was approaching excellent! Tea was very good and the cups from which the tea was enjoyed was quite delightful. It had a fancy handle with a swirl, but unfortunately only comes in right handed options. The waitress and I had a chat about it and apparently they just give lefties a normal mug. 1/7 of the world is missing out! Total was something like $20 and about what you'd expect to pay for meat and beverage at an airport hotel restaurant. All in all, not a bad place to kill an hour. read more

We ate here on two stopovers--for breakfast and for dinner. I liked the ambience, as I could forget I was in an airport. It was peaceful without being stuffily silent. The table settings were an annoyance, because there was too much stuff on the table. Everyone had there own butter tray, there own bread basket, there own little flat stone for silverware, and I don't know what else; it was crowded. The menu is on little electric tablets, which were fine, though the list of entrees on my tablet was more extensive than on my wife's. Also, most items didn't show a price (and the prices are large). The coffee was great: French press, left at the table. The food, generally, used high quality ingredients. The egg white omelette was big and tasty, though maybe too much going on with arugula, potatoes, delicious green salsa, roasted tomatoes and feta. Was it Greek or Mexican? Also, the toast (ordered separately) came long before the entrees, which was annoying, because you want to eat it warm with your omelette. Kid had the waffle, butter, and syrup, which she said was good, but was still a rip-off, at $12.00. Cheap hotels give you all-you-can eat waffles for free. The fruit bowl, on the other hand, despite being expensive, was a gargantuan boat of fresh honey dew, cantaloupe, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Loved it. For our late dinner, we had Market salads, which were well dressed greens and carrots with chopped pecans. And, as it was late, we shared barbacoa tacos, which were fantastic. So, we had two salads, two plates of tacos, and a sparkling water, and it came to $70!!!!! So, if you're staying at the GH, and you are tired, and don't want fast food, the convenience might be worth it. Or if you're filthy rich. read more

Will say at the outset it was pricey, but worth it. Servers all wear masks. Spacing folks in dining room. Our server had worked their 13 years and was just delightful. Attended to our every need promptly without being overbearing. Apps: hubby and I shared Brussels sprouts. We always get them and thee were both different and a cut above. A sweet spicy chili sauce made them different. Son had wings. He is a wing connoisseur and pronounced excellent. Slightly Asian taste in the spice. Dinner: hubby had the steak w asparagus and mushrooms. Perfectly grilled and veg was not overdone. I had the diver scallops on cauliflower purée. Stunningly good. Son: burger. Pronounced good. Excellent crispy fries. Dessert: shared the vanilla creme brûlée. Cookies on side not worth it (thick and doughy) but the brûlée itself was awesome. Quite deep and more than enough for two, maybe three. Nice sugar crust. Pricey for sure but everything was super hot, fresh with unexpected flavors and excellent service. If you have a longer layover, recommend this if you want something other than standard airport fare. Be warned: we left at 9:30 pm and security was closed so could not get into Skylink. Right after coming back home from an Irish vacation, I had to fly out to Dallas, or more specifically DFW Airport, for an intense two days of business meetings. I'm just giving that preamble to let you know dining options were slim when I stayed overnight at the Grand Hyatt, a luxury business hotel that's in the airport, specifically part of Terminal D. Actually there was only one dining option, and this was it. When I arrived at the hotel after a lengthy ride on the Skylink tram, I was already rather peckish and kept looking around to see if there was a coffee shop or even a snack stand. No, there wasn't, so I sat in the typically high-end Hyatt lounge looking at the bar menu (photo: http://bit.ly/2jNpRy4). Among the burgers and wraps was something that caught my transcontinental fancy, the $13 BLT stacked with strips of jalapeno bacon, arugula, sweet gems, and heirloom tomato slices between slices of toasted sourdough slathered in a caper aioli. As I got settled and deep into the meetings, I was informed we were all going to dinner guess where...ah yes, downstairs at the Grand Met. The high-end dinner was more, shall we say, conventional with nothing standing out as a must-try. The Grand Met is the restaurant inside the Grand Hyatt at DFW Airport. The room is magnificent. The service: Stellar. The food: The rubber food you get at catered weddings. The price: Painfully high. If you are staying at a DFW hotel because you are a stranded traveler, you will have to pay a fortune for not good fare here. If you can, eat in the terminal before coming to the hotel. If you have to leave the terminal and come to the hotel to ensure you have a reservation, then you are eating here whether you like it or not. * * * I came here as a stranded traveller. I also came here on a work night, so drinking was out. That was too bad because the Grand Met dining room would be a superlative place to have a drink or three and let the fog roll in sweetly. You would have to have the fog roll in sweetly at hotel prices. But if that is no problem, make the most of the room. The Grand Met is decorated in a palette of dark browns, with contrasts of marble white, cream color, and Colonel Mustard dark yellow. The dark brown wood everywhere gives the room the lushness of an Ivy League Alumni club. The 1950's two tone furniture and the huge cream colored ceiling lights in the shape of giant snare drums give the room levity. The room is simultaneously cozy and spacious. I could hang out there forever. The menu is a limited menu of "freezer food" pre-prepared items at high hotel mark-ups. Twenty nine dollar chicken breast on a small bed of vegetables. Thirty eight dollar pork chop on a small bed of vegetables. Fifty two dollar steak on a small bed of vegetables. Do you see a theme here? They have sushi if you want sushi. They have spaghetti ($19) and various salads ($10 to $15). They have the typical fifteen dollar burger and fries. The chicken breast was the mediocre chicken breast you get at Bar Mitzvahs. It was large, made from a factory chicken and just stuck in an oven and baked to tastelessness. It was browned so that it would look pretty. The vegetable cubes underneath had no taste at all. My primary entertainment for the dinner was figuring out what the different cubes were. The long green cylinder must have been a green bean. It had a green bean shape. The soft squishy cube was probably mushroom. The yellow orange-y cube might have been potato. A few of the others I could not guess. Worse, I was a stranded traveler and had not eaten for ten hours. Oops, make that almost had not eaten. American Airlines gave me the standard package of cookies somewhere along the line. So I show up at the Grand Met ravenous. So I get a giant empty plate with one chicken breast (to be fair a large one) and a microscopic serving of vegetables underneath it. One chicken breast and a dozen minuscule cubes is all the food I get for twenty nine dollars? The waiter immediately diagnosed my pain. God bless him, this wonderful man offered to bring me a second serving of vegetables and a plate of bread. The cubes were the cubes, but when you are starving, food counts as food. But in fairness to the Hyatt Regency, the bread and butter were wonderful. A well executed not-too-crusty baguette style bread with a selection of very good unsalted and salted butter. The bread and butter may have been the best thing in the kitchen. I was delighted to have it. * * * So why isn't this a one or a two star review? The room at the Grand Met is really really fine. If you want to drink off the sorrows of a miserable plane trip, The Grand Met is a beautiful place to do it. Your stroll down alcohol lane will cost you as much as your plane ticket, But for you that might just be okay. Keep in mind that if you order food, You will be drinking off the memory of that as well. read more

We missed our connection after flying 11 hours from Spain, and could not have ended up in a nicer spot. We had the crab cakes, chicken wings, stir fry, and steak frites. Everything was amazing. I was seriously impressed, and I was not expecting much from a hotel restaurant inside of an airport. The service was amazing. We were fortunate enough to have Lewis. He was so kind and helpful throughout our entire experience. Every other staff member that we came across was very kind as well. LOVE this place. We stopped here on our way to Jamaica and were super happy with our overnight stay at the hotel. Mom had the miso seabass and I had the salmon; we shared sides of braised greens, mushrooms and steamed broccoli. Everything was so lovely and delicious. Oh! And the bread was delicious. Soooooo warm and crunchy, with goat milk butter & sea salt on the side. Worth every single kcal! I mean, come on, people - let's live a little! We're on vacation! Elmer was wonderful, great recommendations for both food and wine, and totally unobtrusive yet attentive. AND he gave us pretty little macarons at the end of dinner, in a pretty little box. So fancy and delicate... My only issue (and I admit that this is a total first-world problem) was the e-menus at the table. Now call me old-fashioned but I'm a super huge fan of no devices while dining. Yet in all fairness I have to admit that needing neither my reading glasses nor my flashlight at the table (Ugh. I. Am. AWFUL-- DO NOT DINE HERE. The service here is awful. We came in around 9pm after a late flight + getting checked into our room. The young bartender greeted us and was sweet and friendly. We were hoping that he was our server. Instead, it was Miguel. He was not friendly. He rushed us to order. He went as far as telling us that the sandwiches are premade and we can't take mustard off. If we're paying $16 for a sandwich, shouldn't it be fresh?? We had a cook deliver our appetizer because Miguel was nowhere to be found. We then watched our food sit under a lamp for 10 minutes while Miguel and the manager talked to each other in the lounge. A different cook brought us our food because again, no Miguel in sight. When our fries arrived, they were cold. We sent them back -- obviously. When we ordered dessert, we ordered the menu item of a brownie with chocolate chip ice cream. It arrived with plain chocolate ice cream. When we asked the manager (who delivered it, again, not Miguel) she said "I don't know why you got this dessert menu when I changed them all out yesterday..." uh... no, clearly you didn't. 15 minutes after dessert, we had to stop Miguel for our check. He was irritated when we asked to separate the drink we ordered off (for business purposes.) I would NOT recommend this restaurant. It's an overpriced deli/cafe with awful service. The bartender is sweet and deserves more than the one star or even to work somewhere better so he can get reviews and tips he deserves. If you happen to be staying at the Grand Hyatt at DFW Airport or actually stuck for many hours at the DFW airport you don't have to worry about gross airport food. The Grand Met is located on the lobby level of the Grand Hyatt and it's pretty fabulous! Based on the various tables of men in suits sitting around on the Monday night my husband and I dined here I would guess that this usually is a spot for business travelers (makes sense based on the location). The service was fantastic- the waiters greeted us multiple times by our last name, which was fun for me since I had just gotten a new last name 24 hours prior to dining here! And the food was terrific. The bread basket totally hit the spot after a long day of traveling and then we ordered the blue crab and tuna tempura, highly recommended by the waiter. Can't go wrong with this appetizer! My husband was full from eating airport food (ick) so he just shared the tempura with me, but I also ordered a tasty bowl of the Aztecan chicken tortilla soup. After this delicious meal I don't think I'll be minding the next time my flight gets delayed at DFW! read more

While staying at the Grand Hyatt, hubby & I had breakfast at the Grand Met. Decor, like the rest of the DFW Grand Hyatt, is very modern and sleek! Our server was attentive and the food came out quickly, so that's a huge plus to me!! I ordered the egg white omelet with ham, mushroom & spinach, which came with roasted potatoes! It was very good! I also got coffee and it was very good, too (especially since I had 3 drinks at the M Lounge the night before!). They have stevia in the raw which is a HUGE plus to me because I do not use artificial sweeteners! Overall all a good meal and we didn't have to go far for it! LOL read more

Wow Grand Met is truly a Five Star restaurant! This is a hidden gem located at the Grand Hyatt DFW. We came here the day before Valentines Day to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted and seated right away. The menu lit up when we opened it which was a nice touch. For starters we had the Atlantic Sea Scallops, entree we had the Pan Roasted Mero Sea Bass and Berkshire Pork Chop, and dessert was a sampler of 5 desserts. The Atlantic Sea Scallops had cauliflower, whipped curry, fried pear, and coriander blooms. The scallops were cooked to perfection! It came with 2 pieces and each bite was very tender and soft. I loved it paired with the whipped curry. It had a very light curry flavor not too overpowering. The Pan Roasted Mero Sea Bass is 6oz. in a bed of Israeli couscous, butternut squash shiitake mushroom, tomato, and soy miring broth. This was also cooked to perfection. Sea Bass is my favorite fish of all and they did such a great job with the flavors and the light and tender taste of it. The couscous and vegetables compliment the fish well. The Berkshire Pork Chop was more on the heavy side but very delicious. It has sweet potato spaetzle brown butter, kale, caramelized onions, sage, and TX whiskey jus. The sauce was to die for! The Sweet potato spaetzle is like a mash and the butter was so good. Eloisa the manager had the chef prepare a dessert sampler for us for our anniversary. We had red velvet cake, toffee pudding, chocolate cake with ganache, and homemade vanilla ice cream. All of it was great but my favorite was the toffee pudding and chocolate cake! I wish I can have it everyday!! The Grand Met chefs sure know how to prepare a Five Star Menu. We were 100 percent satisfied with everything food and service! I can't say enough about the manager Eloisa and our server Jimmy. They were both amazing and made sure our experience was very special and memorable. Jimmy had great knowledge of the menu and was very accommodating while we dined. Eloisa took our photograph and surprised us with an anniversary card with our picture on it! She is very sweet! I am giving this place a 5 star mainly because of its service. Service is absolutely stellar and amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food do get very pricey. Although I only ordered egg & bacon for breakfast and sushi for dinner, they did get me full. ($4 for one egg, $4 for one small glass of orange juice, $15 average per plate of sushi.) If you want cheaper options, you will have to go through security inside Terminal D and there are some fast food options. Otherwise, to enjoy first rate and class of service, do come here! I tried its chicken noodle soup, it was so tasteless and bland! Do not order chicken noodle soup. I mean, its complimentary bread and butter make the meal a lot better, but it should not be the way it is. Too bad the soup was just not good. read more

I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant for the first time. This restaurant is inside the Grand Hyatt hotel in Terminal D of the DFW Airport. The hotel is literally inside the terminal. The restaurant is in the lobby section of the hotel. If you live in the Dallas area then you would simply park in terminal D parking area and then walk to the hotel/restaurant from the parking area. When you are ready to leave then do not forget to get the EXIT PASS from the restaurant which you can present at the Airport Exit and you will not be charged for parking. Elmer was our server and provided world class service. He helped us select beverages from water to wine. He recommended dinner from fish to steaks. He stopped by at our table in short intervals and ensured that the dining experience was going well. For the appetizer I had the recommended tortilla soup which was ample in quantity and delicious in taste. The presentation was very appetizing as well. The star of this dining experience was the Filet Mignon. It was presented in a large plate on a bed of whipped potatoes, spinach and a touch of sauce. The filet literally melted in my mouth leaving behind great taste of the herbs and spices utilized to cook it. Addition of a bottle of Cabernet was a hit with this meal. I give this restaurant 4 out of 5 stars for its Service, Quality and Ambiance. I will dine at the Grand Met again. read more

Great, high quality food dining in the airport. This is the second time we are staying at the Hyatt due to flight delays. We have dined for lunch breakfast and dinner and have been very pleased with our meals. Kids menu is great too. read more

We had a really nice dinner in the private room of the restaurant. In town for a business dinner and our event planners were able to set up a room for 25 people with a meal that really pleased the entire group. For starters we had a choice of mixed greens or scallops. The salad tasted bright and farmers market fresh with radish, fennel and a nice sherry vinaigrette. The scallops were also a hit, sitting atop a fava purée with mushrooms and leeks. For dinner we had a choice of Niman Ranch Filet or halibut.The filet was cooked nicely, topped with brown butter and a wine Demi- glace. Looking around I noticed very clean plates, everyone loved it. I tried the halibut which had a delicious romesco sauce on it. Lastly dessert was either mixed berries with vanilla icecream or a white chocolate desert with caramel and green tea icecream. I appreciated the French press coffees they brought to the table to end the night. The smell of good coffee after a meal is so welcomed. This is my 3rd or 4th business dinner at this location over the past 3 years and each time the food and service have been really quite good. It's rare to be so happy to come back to an airport hotel but this restaurant and Grand Hyatt are a win in my book. read more

Airport restaurant. In the second floor together with the lobby. The scene looks great and beautiful. The food looks good. But the Omlet I ordered this morning for breakfast tasted not that good. The taste is just very general, the meat and vegetables not fresh. Very ordinary experience. Will not go next time. Hope the restaurant could improve and provide the real good food for the people in traveling, who is tired and exhausted for some truely tasted food. read more
