    "Make It Another Old Fashioned, Please" - Julie London. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt and wanted to get some drinks and something to eat but didn't want to wander into the airport terminal and go through TSA, our flight was also the next day so I don't know how it works to get back in once you go through. Grand Met is connected to the Grand Hyatt on the same floor as the check in lobby. We didn't want to order dinner as the prices seemed a bit high. We just wanted some fancy drinks and appetizers. Drinks: Grand Fashioned $19 So far the best Old Fashioned we have had, anywhere. Drinks: Texas Rose $18 Hibiscus-infused Tito's Vodka, strawberry puree, grapefruit, fresh lemon juice, Provence Rose. It was good, but the Grand Fashioned was better. I really regret not trying the Pecan Old Fashioned, darn. I couldn't bring myself to pay $17 for a margarita, since I had the fabulously refreshing and super strong margaritas for $6 at City Limits earlier for lunch (see my review for City Limits, Sherman, TX). Appetizer: Cowboy Candy $14 Pecan Crust Baguette with whipped cream cheese and candied jalapenos, honey drizzled all over the cream cheese. It was both sweet and deliciously savory; the baguette had a nice smoky flavor that was not overpowering. The size of the appetizer was a very good deal. I also ate a burger and couldn't finish this app by myself, took it to go. Still dreaming of this appetizer, so fabulous! Hand Helds: Impossible Burger $21 Nice option to swap out the meat for a fake-meat burger. Nothing special. The bun a bit greasy, but otherwise OK. Ambience: pretty nice and fancy, pretty dark. We had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. Across from us in the seated bar area were people mostly wearing business suits, to tourists like us in jeans, a family with a stroller waiting for their flight. Bathroom: super nice. One toilet stall for the ladies. Smelled really nice in there. I need to invent an app where you can "search" for a smell. They do use a lot of Balmain products in the hotel room, so it could have been it. Return Factor: 100% yes. If we are ever in at the DFW airport, will make this the first place to grab a drink and some apps before heading out.

    Very good food inside the Grand Hyatt at DFW. We had an opportunity to eat here a couple times while getting stuck on our way to Key West. Nice lounge area and very good service. Market salad cheese tasted more like Feta than goat cheese but tasty. Crab cakes are small (not pictured) but delicious! Prices are tad high but it's ok....we are on vacation!

    I flew into DFW and had a bit of a wait for my travel companion, so I walked to the Grand Hyatt for breakfast. The hotel is connected to the airport and is an easy walk if you want to sit and relax away from the airport. I ordered an omelette, one pancake, and a hazelnut latte. The omelette was good but accompanying potatoes were bland, big and not enjoyable at all. The pancake and latte were both delicious! Service was great and I enjoyed the peacefulness in the restaurant. This was the perfect way to spend some extra time and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

    I've been here a couple times. Most recently I ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. The dressing was delicious and the salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It looked burnt and dry but boy was I surprised when I cut into it. I wouldn't order it with the sun dried tomatoes again but that's a personal choice and the Parmesan crisps were perfect. I asked if I could add any other veggies to it and I got a hard no so that was unfortunate but otherwise it was really good!

    Very nice pre-flight breakfast. A little on the expensive side but a lot better than the options in the terminal. They open at 06:00 AM, so we had plenty of time before our 08:30 AM flight. Service was quick and efficient. Everything was cooked as ordered. I wouldn't hesitate eating breakfast here again if we happen to be staying at the Grand Hyatt prior to our flight

    Had been here once before when it seemed mostly sushi-related and a lot more $$$. The menu seems to be more diverse now and, while not cheap, it's more in line with other non-hotel fine dining locations. Being so close to home and with very accessible airport parking with validation made for a very short, easy walk to the escalator just inside the terminal door. While the lounge area feels a bit "hotel lobby lounge", once you pass the host station into the main dining room you'd think you were in a non-hotel restaurant. And the food was quite good! Service by Gokhan and team was great! Recommend trying this out even if you're not flying in / out of DFW.

    Spectacular from start to finish. I won't even bother reading the previous reviews because y'all wrong. Got scallops app - excellent. Then the ribeye with compound butter, medium rare. Absolute perfection from first bite to last. Paired with Napa Valley Cabernet which was perfection. Got the side salad with vinaigrette. Would come back here even if I was not coming to the airport. It is that good. Service amazing as well.

    The wife was flying out and I wasn't. Her flight was delayed by a couple of hours, we were in Terminal D and we had some time to kill, but didn't have enough time to leave the airport to grab a bite and come back. I couldn't get through airport security where 95% of the food options are located. What to do...sit at the bar at the Grand Met or find this Starbucks some people told us existed while others said it didn't. We opted to come grab a seat at the Grand Met bar. We had a couple of drinks, split a burger, fries and salad, and somehow managed to spend $60 bucks after tip (a bit of sticker shock). The bartender Scott was great, though, I did happen to notice our unique split for two burger ready to be run to the table as I was coming back from the (exquisitely clean) bathroom. Our food didn't get to us until 7-8 minutes later. The fries were lukewarm, the salad and burger were great. The burger was cooked to order and the salad was amazingly fresh and tasty. Scott knew we were splitting it and had the kitchen plate the portions separately, which was great. All and all, it was a pleasantly memorable experience. If we'd be able to get through security to eat at a less fine dining experience (and pay far less), that's what we'd have done. In this instance, other options were practically nonexistent. I enjoyed this hangout spot. It was great for what we needed at the time. Don't forget to grab some hotel freebie goodies on the way to the escalator. They had some delightful spiced oatmeal cookies and hot cider. After paying $60 for a split burger and a couple of drinks, we hit the freebie station hard, without remorse. December 2019

    Inside the Grand Hyatt at Terminal D / DFW, up the escalator by hotel check-in. This is a great spot outside of TSA security to meet friends traveling through DFW. We visited mid-day so had some really good lounge food - Pizza flatbread, guacamole & some super gourmet bread with farmers cheese. Beautiful location with a huge wine wall, some private meeting space and an open-air kitchen. Great service / great meeting spot! FYI - bring your cash $$$$$.

    Came through for a conference at the airport and decided we needed some second breakfast after a small helping of eggs at 6 am was insufficient to tame the beast that is my stomach. The place is nicely set up. Modern and relaxed. Nice servers for me some delightful tea and sides of bacon and sausage - we hung out between sessions for about an 90 minutes so it was pig fest intermittently! Both we good, bacon was approaching excellent! Tea was very good and the cups from which the tea was enjoyed was quite delightful. It had a fancy handle with a swirl, but unfortunately only comes in right handed options. The waitress and I had a chat about it and apparently they just give lefties a normal mug. 1/7 of the world is missing out! Total was something like $20 and about what you'd expect to pay for meat and beverage at an airport hotel restaurant. All in all, not a bad place to kill an hour.

    We ate here on two stopovers--for breakfast and for dinner. I liked the ambience, as I could forget I was in an airport. It was peaceful without being stuffily silent. The table settings were an annoyance, because there was too much stuff on the table. Everyone had there own butter tray, there own bread basket, there own little flat stone for silverware, and I don't know what else; it was crowded. The menu is on little electric tablets, which were fine, though the list of entrees on my tablet was more extensive than on my wife's. Also, most items didn't show a price (and the prices are large). The coffee was great: French press, left at the table. The food, generally, used high quality ingredients. The egg white omelette was big and tasty, though maybe too much going on with arugula, potatoes, delicious green salsa, roasted tomatoes and feta. Was it Greek or Mexican? Also, the toast (ordered separately) came long before the entrees, which was annoying, because you want to eat it warm with your omelette. Kid had the waffle, butter, and syrup, which she said was good, but was still a rip-off, at $12.00. Cheap hotels give you all-you-can eat waffles for free. The fruit bowl, on the other hand, despite being expensive, was a gargantuan boat of fresh honey dew, cantaloupe, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Loved it. For our late dinner, we had Market salads, which were well dressed greens and carrots with chopped pecans. And, as it was late, we shared barbacoa tacos, which were fantastic. So, we had two salads, two plates of tacos, and a sparkling water, and it came to $70!!!!! So, if you're staying at the GH, and you are tired, and don't want fast food, the convenience might be worth it. Or if you're filthy rich.

Amanda, though new to the company, has years of industry experience and truly understands the value of great service. She apologized repeatedly and invited us back. We returned this past Thursday, and it was a complete turnaround. Amanda made sure we felt valued, and Damien, our server, was phenomenal. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.

Perfect way to end the meal. Overall: no critiques, just an all-around great dinner. Definitely recommend the tomahawk and pie.

It was perfectly crispy, the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness and heat, and the seasoning gave it a nice kick without overpowering the calamari. It was rich but still well balanced. We also tried the New Zealand rack of lamb. This one had mixed reviews at our table. It wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but I didn't dislike it and again I didn't love it! The blackened exterior and the wine reduction gave it good flavor, but it just wasn't particularly memorable. My favorite entrée ended up being the tomahawk pork chop. The pork itself was juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.

Our waitress was business-like and a little unfriendly, and service was terribly slow. The food was good. Free refills on our drinks flowed freely. I tried a veggie burger which was a bit spicy and oaty. I wish I'd tried a salad! Still, I appreciated that they worked with me on reserving tables for a large group all with separate checks.
