I sent my girlfriend here for a blowout. She left extremely unhappy, to the point of considering washing out her hair immediately afterwards. On top of that the service was borderline discriminatory. Service: We arrived early for her appointment and we're not acknowledged until far after the appointment time. Meanwhile another couple walks in, maybe they looked very wealthy or something, but service attention was immediately put on them. You could tell there was a difference in demeanor. Their appointment was a full half hour after ours!! When we politely reminded them that we were now running behind, we were told to wait. Hairstyling: Bottom line, the hair dresser did the exact opposite of what my girlfriend asked for. She is very knowledgeable about her own hair and provided details of what May work for it... well that was ignored. The stylist spent the rest of the time trying to fix the hair. We eventually decided to say "it's fine just stop trying to add to it" Coup De. Gras: we could not adjust the "tip" or service fee of 20 percent despite the service being absolutely awful. Chemical burns during pedicure! The technician Tanya did a perfectly adequate manicure but when the one came for the pedicure, oh no! They put those chemicals on the bottom of your foot. Well some got on the top of my foot. They put the little plastic baggie on to cook the chemicals in. Neither of us noticed until it started burning a hole into my foot and the skin slid off! She wanted to continue (we hadn't even don't he scrub yet, yikes!) but I was so shaken up and upset that I requested a refund (since when do high end spas make you pay in advance for a spa day package--is that a Vegas thing?) When they were able to locate the manager she was appropriately apologetic and offered to have someone else perform the service but my mama did not raise a fool. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice?? Chile please Day 2: I had to buy a box of overpriced bandaids because "surprise" all of my Shoes and sandal touch the top of my foot and the pain was unbearable. I went here to get acrylics. I called a head of time and made an appointment. I showed up on time and didn't get acknowledged for about 15-20 minutes. I show the woman what I wanted and she starts on my nails. She puts about three coats of acrylic on which made my nails SOOO thick. They also didn't have their prices posted anywhere so I had no idea how it was. My final product came out looking like this. And they had the AUDACITY to charge me $180. It was a just ok kind of experience. I went in for a mani & pedi. The lady who did my services was nice and very friendly. But the polish didn't last at all. They talk you into "upgrading" to the quick dry polish. It doesn't hold up at all. My polish was already lifting/peeling at the edges by the next morning. She wasn't particularly careful with the cuticle nippers or file, so I had quite a few nicks and cuts. Also, be super careful about letting them use the cheese grater on your calluses! It seemed great at the time that she was getting them all smoothed out. Later I realized my feet were pretty raw in some spots. Like painfully raw. Not good, especially with the all the walking in Vegas. It was a pleasant enough experience, the champagne is a nice touch, but all in all it's a really expensive nail job that isn't worth the cost. read more

Update: day 3 and a few of my nails are already peeling... so disappointed I'm writing this based on my experience, I felt like this salon is just okay and over priced for what you get. I could've gotten the same or and even a better job done somewhere else for cheaper. I went in to get a Christophe signature, online the description said it was a regular manicure after a balm soaking , a scrub, and moisturizer. My manicurist suggested gel because the oils that come with the signature can cause the regular polish not to stick. I agreed to it because it made sense, she started off with the gel manicure and afterwards I only got about 1-2 min scrub. Then I was sent on my way. My appointment was for 1:15 and I was done by 2. I had a spa appointment at 2 and I was running late, so maybe that's why she didn't finish the rest of the package, but that's not the reason for my review. Since I was in a rush I didn't look at my nails in detail, but from the quick glance my nails seemed okay. While I was in the spa, I noticed that the gap between my cuticle looked my my nails have grown out, but I've just gotten it painted. I should've went back, but I didn't have time. Since I thought that was the only problem I felt it was tolerable, but as the night progressed I noticed more issues. At first I thought the polish was just a little sheer, but in better lighting it was brown! I was so disappointed because it make my nails look dirty. I could've dealt with the gap, but dirty nails are unacceptable. I paid a lot of money for this. I went back the following morning before heading home to LA, hoping to get it fixed. They couldn't fit me in until 4, but I was leaving at 1. So instead I got a 50% refund. I probably will not be returning. I didn't have a bad experience with my manicurist, she was chill. I just wish my nails turned out better and I didn't have to go back. With the 50% I received back, I could've gotten gel nails at home with acrylics. Overall, I wasn't completely satisfied, but at least I got a refund. read more

I visited here for New Year's eve to have my make up applied for our night out in Vegas. I read on their website that the cost was $75.00 which I felt was fair for a special occasion. First I arrived 20 minutes early and they were 30 minutes late getting me in which meant I sat for almost an hour and it put me behind. When they did get me back there, I felt like the artist (who was very nice) just rushed through my make-up. To be fair it looked really good BUT I had wanted a little more but I felt like she was in a hurry. She applied false lashes, which in hind-sight I should have realized would be an up-charge. She never asked if I wanted them, she just put them on. When I went to check-out the line was super long and everyone seemed confused. I understand it was New Years eve but I was already 30 minutes behind and it took another 20 minutes to check out. When they gave me my total it was 175.00. I thought I had made a mistake and looked at their website wrong so I went ahead and paid it along with a tip. When i got back to the hotel I was really sick about spending 175.00 for makeup application so I looked at their website again and the price was 75.00. I called the manager and it sounded like mayhem when speaking with her. When I told her I had been charged 175.00 she asked my why. I said that is why I am calling you. It turns out there was another Lori and they charged me for her services cut and color even though I told them it was make-up application. She said no you should have been charged 75.00 plus 25.00 for lashes so a total of 100.00 plus a tip. They then told me I needed to come back down so they could credit my card and re-charge me. I told them I was at Mandalay Bay and could not come back. I had to give them my card again over the phone so they could credit me the difference and then worry about my card number laying around. It just was not a good experience with the lateness of the artist, the lashes charge that I did not ask for, the mess up on the charges, and then the manager acting like I had put her out. I do not mind paying for services that I ask for in a salon but when the experience is bad and over-priced...that is not a good feeling. read more

My hair was a wreck. I looked like a tortoiseshell calico cat, with three different colors of hair. My hair was dry, split, and broken. It was attracting hummiingbirds, who thought they might nest in it. I did a bit of web research, and felt Christophe might have the kind of expert coloring and conditioning I was searching for. The salon is beautiful, a bit hidden in the back of the huge MGM hotel complex, and it overlooks the elaborate pool area. The stations are sleek and clean, modernistically streamlined. Sunlight flooded the stations, and made for a pleasant ambience. I made an appointment with Jean-Marc at Christophe, and had a brief consultation when I arrived. My colorist Paul, also consulted in great detail, to be sure of the effect I wanted. I had gathered several pictures, since color is extremely hard to describe save visually, and also had a style discussion. I wanted a bit of a trendy retro look, a slight bouffant, and believable honey blond streaks. Paul proceeded to do the most precise job of streaking my hair that I have ever have. I have long, normally strong straight hair, and he patiently streaked my entire mane. He also touched up the brass at the roots, and did a marvelous conditioner, that made my hitherto straw locks look like silk. The L'Oreal hair products I got to continue the condition have helped my hair heal. Then I had the pleasure of Jean Marc creating a personal style appropriate to my yen for glamour, and busy lifestyle. He quickly and masterfully rendered a long Bardot-inspired cut, which took advantage of my slight natural wave, and created a casual, yet suave look. At $150.00 for the cut, it is a bargain. When I left the salon, I was walking on air, my newly blown-dry mane signaling the resurection of a devoted fashionista. Merci mille fois to both Paul and Jean-Marc! read more

Seriously people, if you are reading this review (guys and girls) and just feel "okay" about your stylist, you better get to the Christophe and see Eric STAT! Just when I think my hair has peaked, I see Eric and he takes my style to a whole new level. Finally, after 8 years, I let him give me a side swooping bang... It might have changed my life! CAMPBELL is the best hair stylist I have ever been to in my 35 years of existence. I have very long hair, and I went to CAMPBELL to cut about 12 inches off. ( I never cut my hair) I was extremely nervous and didnt know what to expect. CAMPBELL proved to be more than I ever expected. He's pleasant, patient, humble, down to earth, he takes his time, listens to you, gives you great advice, isnt pushy, and isnt all bout money. He's a nice person and I feel blessed to have had him work on my hair. You must be out of your damn mind. That's what I was thinking while walking out of the salon yesterday, basically feeling like I was being turned away, and refused service. At the airport, on my way here to Las Vegas, I had the traumatic experience of cracking one of my freshly done acrylics. It took all the strength in me not to scream obscenities while in line at security. Looking at the nail, I knew I wasn't going to be able to fix this one my own, and seeing as I was about to catch my flight, I had to grin and bear it, and take myself and my "on life support" finger to Vegas. When I arrived here at my hotel (MGM Grande), I set out to find the salon. I knew it would be a hefty price, but I needed my nail fixed. The young lady at the front desk told me that they wouldn't fix just one nail, and that I would need to get a completely new set. This completely new set would also set me back $110. Hell to the no. Working at a salon, you'd think that she'd have some compassion, some mercy. Nope. After I botched my own haircut, I figured it would be good to find some external help. The salon is tucked away from the casino, located down a hallway past the front spa reception. The salon is bright and gorgeously decorated. My haircut was done by an assistant / stylist-in-training, so it was complimentary. She did a nice cut, but was a little too careful so it took a long time. The haircut was checked by one of the regular stylists, who pointed out a few things to make my hair a little better. If you ever go to this salon be VERY careful with anything they offer and ask for a price up front. The roots dye was good, no chitchat from the stylists or attention while checking out, but their way of adding on extra charges is very cagey. My wife went in to get her roots done and her bangs trimmed. After they rinsed the dye out of her hair the stylist said she had to jump onto another client, but another stylist would dry her hair. My wife said she was happy to blowdry her hair back at the hotel since she brought her nice hair dryer and she was already late for her appointment, but the staff said no no it's all good. Apparently this was their blowout service for an extra $85 plus 20% tip. My wife was so upset with the sticker shock upon seeing the price that she just paid the total to get out of there without crying. She had been quoted $85 for the roots and $20 for the bangs and instead walked out with a $200 bill. They didn't have time to do her bangs, which was fine, she was late for her appointment. I called them as soon as my wife told me the story and after a long talk on the phone the best they could do was a 50% refund on the blowout. They wouldn't entertain a 100% refund even though it wasn't something she asked for. I probably could have yelled and kept pushing, but you shouldn't have to do that when you're cheated by a company. So instead I'll just wrote this review as a warning to anyone else when going to this salon. Get ready for some sticker shock. I can only imagine what they would have charged when they offered to curl my wife's hair. Thank goodness she said no to that. read more

I do skin weft extensions & Juan Mejia is my hair angel !! He is the best stylist I ever had & I will keep him for life!!!!!!! I go to Vegas just for him to do my hair now & I will never go anywhere else :) He even comes to my room to do my extensions! After seeing a coworker arrive at work with her new STUNNING haircut I demanded the stylist's information. I loved the cut, it was so flattering and gave my coworker a boost of self confidence. Before the haircut I had hair past my shoulders in long layers. I found a picture of a long layered bob that went two inches above my shoulders. I showed her the picture and with my fingers showed her 3 times the length I wanted my hair. She DID NOT call over the Master Stylist to conference with before she took her first cut. She had me move my chin to my chest, measured with her finger then...... chopped! Yes! She chopped my hair to at the base of where my head and neck meet. Once she made that fateful cut I went with it because how on Earth can you uncut 3 inches of hair. I thought "ok, it will be a little shorter but I will still have the long layers like the picture". Oh was I wrong. I ended up with an asymmetrical bob! That is the anti-haircut. I would NEVER EVER EVER ask for an asymmetrical bob EVER! That is not a flattering style for me. I was horrified but heck.... you get what you pay for. The master stylist should have looked at the picture before she cut it. He did not even ask if I had a picture when he inspected the completed cut. Every time I wash or style my hair I am crushed. I now have a short flared at the sides Lisa Rinna hair cut and have to find a stylist to fix my hair on a regular basis to get the look I wanted in the first place. read more

Wow... I came here few days ago for a gel Mani and pedi and I was very disappointed how it came out. First off this cost me $300 they are so over priced but it was kind of expected since it's inside the mgm. My nail lady was super nice, great customer service but I did not like the way she did my nails. My previous color was red and my current color is silver glitter.. You can still see spots of red on my nails & my nails are not even at all, few of them are thicker than the rest and some of them are longer than the rest!!! I'm just shocked how awful my nails look. I wouldn't recommend this place to no one. Save your money and go somewhere else!! read more

This review is for Christophe's very talented makeup artist Spencer Lopez. I followed her over from her previous salon and I will continue to follow her wherever she goes! I have been seeing Spencer for over a year now for all of my Vegas makeup needs and I leave her chair a satisfied client each and every time. If you want flawless makeup that photographs very well you have to see Spencer! She uses products the pros use and has her technique down to a t! For examples of her work you can check out Christophe Salon Las Vegas on Facebook and I have a picture on my Yelp page from a night that she did my makeup. Prices are very reasonable for a hotel salon on the Strip and lower than what I expected for being a Christophe Salon. Cost is $75 for a makeup application and $25 additional each for airbrush and for lashes. The salon is located by the MGM pools and it's quite a long walk from the garage but so worth it for the end result! I visited the Cristophe Salon at the MGM Grand on my 30th birthday. I made an appointment to get my hair blown out for the big night. Campbell was my stylist and I have to say that I had the best hair of my life that night. He styled me at 5:15PM and by the time I took pictures that night at 10:30PM, my hair was still perfect. I really loved him because he knew how to style my Asian hair (and a lot of people don't). The other great thing about Campbell is that it took him 15 minutes. So I went here in DElC. 2012. mainly because I was getting a 50% discount thru work. Just toI get a one color all over. Somehow he was over booked and had 3 clients (including me) at once. im not gonna lie I was very frustrated, I made an appointment so I would hope that I wouldn't be kept waiting longer then necessary. He was a very friendly man. But he missed half of my head of hair.. How?.. I figure if im going to a top quality salon it should be done correctly the first time. My now wife went to Christophe to get a mani, pedi, hair and makeup done for the wedding. She wanted me along for the ride. This place is a very inviting place. It's not cozy or necessarily warm but it has the feel of being a place for pampering which is exactly what you're looking for. We were greeted warmly and offered a beverage while we waited as we were 10 minutes early. At every stage of the appointment, even as a tag-a-long, they made sure I was just as comfortable as my wife. The hair and makeup were done superbly by their staff. The mani/pedi were ok. I went to Vegas for labor day weekend. I found this salon in my hotel and tried it out. Paul did my color and highlights, and I have never been so in love with my hair!! He did such a great job. My hair looks so natural, and the color is so beautiful. On the other hand, Jean Luke (I think that was his name) did my blow out and style. I told him what I wanted, and he disregarded what I said. I walked out of there looking like someone from the 70's. I had wings!! Besides the hair style that I got, I LOVE my hair color and if you get a chance to try this salon....go to Paul! Honestly one of the best salon experiences I've ever had. For men's cuts definitely go for Bryce. He's talented, pleasant, and easy to chat with. Cut was great, nothing was a hassle, and the place is nice. It's in the spa/salon area of the MGM Grand so it is a bit of a walk but totally worth it. read more
