I ordered online through the my Panera app and I had a pretty good experience up until I started eating. I had to reheat my soup because by the time it was delivered, it was cold. Not a big deal. However what I discovered INSIDE my soup was absolutely horrifying! What looks to be a removable plastic milk plug was HIDING IN MY SOUP THE ENTIRE TIME! This was after I microwaved it and everything. So the entire soup is contaminated in this mystery plastic that I don't even know where it came from. I contacted Panera support and they offered me a "7 dollar coupon" for my next order. What the f*ck makes you think I'm ever ordering here again?! What does that solve?! I took it further and made a complaint through Panera support but I have not heard anything back. Beware of going to this Panera! Seems like the employees are not worried about food safety at all! I also work in fast food and this is completely and utterly unacceptable. Microplastics are already in enough things but this is a full on piece of plastic. For a chain restaurant, they do a good job of providing some healthier options. I like that I can get a wide variety of salads - and every time I get one, it is well-made and delicious. I was super excited to put an end to my raging hunger, and come to find out they forgot the sandwich. Mac n cheese was absolute flames tho. Fast forward to today, I decide to stop at this location and order the same thing, thinking surely two separate locations wouldn't make the same mistake. I receive the bag, and don't even check inside because I'm so confident that there's no way it would happen again. To my surprise, it did. I don't know if there's some kind of policy against pairing a chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese, but if there is, I was not informed. Last two times my husband has went to this location, it has all but met expectations. First time, he ordered us lunch for pick up 40 mins prior. He gets in to pick up, and they tell him he has to wait in line. Which is a 30 minute wait. What's the point of calling in a pick up order? Second time, today, we got half a dozen bagels. They only gave us 4. Went back in and got our bagel, but the manager was rude and short and she had another fire to put out. I thought it's your job in a customer service industry to make your unhappy customers not only happy, but to feel heard and given undivided attention. Shame on you. read more

For some reason, my high school daughters think this place is amazing. Since they enjoy it, I will give 2 stars rather than 1... I find the bagels to be tough. I know bagels are not supposed to be soft and fluffy like a piece of white bread (way back in my college days I worked at a place making bagels in the Ann Arbor area, so I have some expereince in that area), but these seem to be closer to the texture of rubber than bagel. The sandwiches and other "meal-type" items are over-priced. For around $10 a person I expect better than what I can make in my kitchen in 5 minutes out of the deli at Meijer... The service is sub-par. It always seems as if there are more than enough folks "working" to address what is often a rather lengthy line, but looks are deceiving. What I normally experience is that one or maybe two of the staff are actually working while the others are simply present. Plus, the layout when you walk in is confusing, as you are often stuck standing right in the way of the entrance, blocking folks from getting out and getting blasted by whatever the Michigan weather is doing outside each time the door opens. The baked goods are great, however. BUT, you only have about a 1 in 50 chance of them actually having something you want as the desired items seem to be gone first thing in the morning never to re-appear... read more

Our order is almost ALWAYS messed up in one way or another. Last time we order bagels, sliced & toasted. First, they didn't slice or toast them so we took them back up and the employee put the WHOLE bagel in the toaster and toasted it that way, I have no idea how the bagel didn't get stuck in the toaster. So the top and bottom was toasted and the inside was cold. This is after we waited in line for 10+ minutes so we were already irritated enough at this point and just ate the bagel that way. The photos of their bowls online when you order was FALSE ADVERTISING. I can tell based upon the egg in the photo. The portion was much smaller, not amount of the quinoa or lentils pictured. And, for $9.29, can you remove the seeds from the lemon or not put the lemon in there? Plus, it was very salty. I smoke, and it was even too salty for me. Salt does not replace flavor! The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is the speed of the delivery, and the friendliness of the driver. Panera always fulfills my expectations, and having recently eaten at Corner Bakery, my Panera-happiness is validated. It's a great cafe chain, with a good selection. I love the broccoli cheddar soup, and their chicken salad sandwich was fresh and yummy. Remember that soup by default comes with a roll, even if you get it with a half sandwich, so that can be too much bread for some folks. They have free-wifi and comfortable, spacious seating. Their rewards program offers lots of little free surprises like smoothies and cookies. Great place to grab a quick lunch. read more

I have been a long-time customer of this store at its old location. However, since the move to the new location, I have been totally underwhelmed by the level of customer service. I have been ignored while waiting at the counter. My last experience was the "straw that broke the camel's back." When I arrived with my wife (for breakfast), I was at the counter while the server decided that restocking bagels was more important than serving a customer. One souffle left - I immediately asked not once but several times for the server to take that item for my wife (my requests were ignored). Then it was snapped up by someone serving a takeout order. The server then informed me that I would have to take a replacement item. Why wasn't it taken when I asked for - she wanted to get the order in. Enough is enough. Poor service combined with arrogance should never be rewarded. For me, this is a place to avoid. read more
