It's been a while since I had a good crepe, maybe the last time was when I was in France, and this one brought back those memories. The crepe itself was thin and soft, folded up with warm Nutella and fresh banana inside, topped with walnuts, with a dollop of whipped cream on the side. The walnuts gave it a nice bit of crunch, and the whipped cream added just the right touch of extra sweetness without going overboard. Simple yet good. The fruit cup was a nice balance too, all fresh fruit, nothing out of season. If you're looking for a tasty crepe, check this place out. I'll be curious how their savory ones taste as well.

The staff was friendly and took the time to explain the menu, which I really appreciated. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Crepe with a Kiwi Italian Soda, and finished with an Apricot Bar. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. I also liked that they offer a large selection of both breakfast and lunch items, so there's plenty to choose from.

I had high hopes for this place and really wanted to like it, but it fell short of expectations…read more For starters, the ordering system is super chaotic and the numbering system makes no sense. You can order either from a person at the cash register or at the self-serve kiosk, depending which is first available. My friend ordered at the cash register, and I ordered at the kiosk. She got #45 despite ordering first, and I got #32. I find it so disorienting that the systems don't sync, so the numbers are called out of sequence. After ordering, we found some space to sit on the long communal bench inside. We heard several high and low numbers called, but they were rather unintelligible, and we really had to strain to hear correctly. Finally, my friend's number was called, and a bit later my name instead of number was called. I had ordered both a snack crêpe and a fruit tea, but only the crêpe was ready. I had to go back for the tea later. Maybe I've been too spoiled by crêpes in North Beach and boba in Sunset, but the crêpe I got here was so dry and stiff, it legit tasted like and had the texture of cardboard, and the passionfruit tea had zero passionfruit flavor. The strawberry ice cream and kiwi slices in my crêpe tasted good, but that's the bare minimum and can't really mess those up. Judging by just the crêpe shell and fruit tea, I'd give this place a 1/5. The reasonably ripe kiwi and sweet strawberry ice cream were the only saving grace. My friend said it best, "You get what you pay for." Prices are affordable here, but the quality is super mid.

Not to mention, their portions are pretty big so definitely come with an appetite! Most recently I ordered the Philly crepe sharing half of it with my sister who ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. Both items were good, my preference was their fries as opposed to their country potatoes (which were good too). I love that they offer a side salad as well. Pretty quick service, servers are nice and there's ample space (indoor and outdoor seating offered). Definitely a good place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. I have yet to try dinner but I do always see people dining!

I frequently get one of their salads as they are fresh and plentiful. However, recently I got the Cancun as I Love all the ingredients ~ Romaine lettuce, Black beans, corn, red onions, Avocado Ranch dressing (served over a flour tortilla which is new to me) topped w/Charbroiled Chicken = $18.50 What a huge disappointment. Half of this salad was just Romaine lettuce, no corn, 1T of black beans, no red onion and red peppers instead. I had to "hunt for the ingredients". I asked for another bowl just for the lettuce alone and it filled up another bowl. Which left me w/the skimpiest of ingredients I have ever seen. Plus the romaine lettuce was in huge chunks incuding the core of the lettuce. There was a tiny side of tortilla strips and I asked for the tortilla on the side, glad I did. The chicken was at least decent and plentiful. For the price it was a total waste of money. Wish I'd taken a picture. And the cashier is really rude.

Nestled in the heart of Japan town's shopping center, right next to the bookstore- Sophie's crepes is. Very small bistro seating is available, but this place gets pretty busy. They have an extensive menu of both simple and layered flavors. The crepes here are thin and crispy, and come in a very cute crepe holder when served. I always get the strawberries and banana with Nutella, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The crepe won't last long, you'll eat it right up. My partner opts for a strawberry and whipped cream option, with raspberry jam- simple in comparison to my order. Sophie's is always our starting point in Japan town, and once you've placed your order, you cannot revise it. Make sure you hold onto your number, you'll need to provide it when your number is called. Enjoy, a must try in SF; even if you just go to Japan town for this one thing, trust me, it's worth it.
