San Francisco has always been a place to grab different cuisines from all around the world. There is a diverse population in San Francisco which offers a dish from almost every continent in the world. I have been fortunate to try almost every delicacy from around the world in San Francisco. There is one I haven't tried and been meaning to try. This spot just opened this year and it serves cheesy wrap sandwiches like some in SF but with a different flavor and with a Parisian twist .It's located on Market street in the Castro and it's called Gada. On a Market street stroll on a sunny day I landed at Gada. This place is a small restaurant which serves Tunisian sandwiches which appear more like a wrap. They have a few tables outside but the majority of is for take out. Inside you will find the Salami Crunch -Cheese me up-and the Savory Ham Raclette -Say Cheese-in SF. I got the -Cheese Please ! - on Melawi bread. It came with roasted potatoes, caramelized onions and Raclette cheese. It was kind of cheesy like some in SF. It was tasty and savory and bread was not flakey. I then also tried the Prosciutto Di Parma Melt -Holy Melt-and it was delicious and a unique sandwich and wrap to the landscape in the city. San Francisco is the city I was born and "bred" go to a place in SF and watch the raclette cheese "shred"and watch the cheese melt and stretch then "spread"on what looks like a wrap but it's "Melawi bread" San Francisco has many diverse cuisines all "four season" from "Indonesian"to an inspired cheesy treat that's part "Parisian"in SF at Gada on Market street which serves flatbreads sandwiches which are "Tunisian"

Holy shit - I just discovered the joy of have a sandwich wrapped in malawi bread!!! The prosciutto raclette is SO good. Can't wait to come back

I love all things cheesy, so of course I was so excited to try this new raclette spot! At around 11:45am on a Saturday, there was a very short line. I ordered the prosciutto with melawi bread. This was my first time trying melawi bread, and it was amazing! Honestly, I can probably just eat plain melawi bread on its own. However, I really wish there was more cheese. The cheese also didn't taste as good after it had cooled. This was unfortunate - because there's very limited seating, we had to walk two blocks to find a spot to eat. And by then, the food had already gotten a bit cold. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but it's not something I'd go out of my way for.

Food 5/5 on originalism, portions, and freshness. I enjoyed the prosciutto sandwich on the traditional melawi bread, with potatoes and harissa sauce on top of the vegetables. Service 5/5 - the owner was super friendly and is clearly trying to create a community vibe Ambiance 3/5- it is walk in / takeout only, so you're not going for the atmoosphere. but the owner is super friendly and was playing Italian pop and singing the music, which heightened the vibe. You can sit on the chairs near the Castro & 18th intersection,

My lactose intolerant peeps, you're going to want to make an exception for Gada. Life is short. Eat the cheese. Suffer later. Well, more like your co-workers or loved ones have to suffer through your booty burps. But, whatever. Quietly opening last month, Gada is a takeout spot serving something new and unique to the city: Tunisian Raclette! This is a one-man show with freshly made melawi bread so come with patience. No seating. M E N U Currently, there's only Tunisian Raclettes available with potatoes, prosciutto, salami, sausage, bacon, grilled chicken, ham, or mortadella. Choice of melawi bread or torpedo roll. Crêpe and waffles to come. Unfortunately, there was a break-in and their cooler was destroyed so no drinks for now. If you live/work in the area, there's a 10% neighborhood discount. F O O D * Grilled Chicken Raclette ($15.49): https://tinyurl.com/mu2e7d4c For structural integrity and faster cooking, Gada's melawi is made as a flatbread rather than the usual flaky, paratha-style version. Fresh off the griddle, the melawi is delicately crisp and satisfyingly chewy, packed with tender, turmeric-spiced chicken breast, sautéed peppers and onions, and a generous layer of molten cheese. It's finished with fresh spinach, arugula, harissa, honey mustard, and cornichons for a bright spicy tang. The wrap is SO delicious and well-balanced, neither greasy nor heavy. * Sausage & Onions Raclette ($15.99): https://tinyurl.com/vnk9yh3c Same as above but with sausage link slices. S E R V I C E The owner, Moe is incredibly warm, gracious, and hospitable. If you're in The Castro area, def give this new small business a try. Oh yea, Gada is open until 2 am on the weekends making it the perfect stop for the drunchies after a night of grindin' at The Cafe next door!

I really hope this place stays around for a long time! The owners are super super nice and took care of me even though thy had technically closed. I came because I saw all the IG posts with the raclette but oh maaaaan videos cannot do justice to how amazing the melted cheese tastes. Seriously so good. Gada is a little shop off market next to the chevron in the castro. Very intimate, not much room inside. It sorta reminds me of a crepe stand, since they have the two grills set up in the back. They make the melawi bread to order - the guy takes a hunk of dough, rolls it out, and then heats it up on a griddle. It sorta reminded me of a paratha. The only downside is that there's not really any seating around the place and raclette is best eaten right away or at least while it's still pretty hot since it's a ton of beautifully melted cheese. So find a place to stand and eat! Def make sure you go early - sometimes they run out of stuff and close for a little bit (like today they closed between 1:45ish-2:30 and like, 3:20-4). Luckily there was plenty around so I walked around the castro and came back. The guy was super super nice though, and recognized me and was like you came back! And made me a sandwich even though they were closed. Lovely people running the shop, amazing bread, amazing cheese, will def be coming back for this!

I came in to Gada for lunch and ordered the sausage and onion Malawi bread sandwich and the salami one. My sister and me split half's so we could try both. We enjoyed both sandwiches. Love how the melted cheese was just like dripped onto it. There is only a small ordering counter there but a couple tables and chairs are available in front on sidewalk. Staff was nice.

This shop is located right next to The Cafe. It's a tiny shop, so take out only. The owner is friendly. He mentioned he will soon carry pistachio tiramisu. Yum! Currently there's 6 items on the menu. I opted for the chicken raclette melt on melawi bread. I didn't get a take out box but instead it was in a paper bag. Unfortunately it's a bit oily. When I finished it, there was at least a teaspoon of oil at the bottom. It's quite filling too but the flavor is good. It was my first time trying raclette cheese. It's a bit funky. I can't wait to have it again.

Stumbled across Gada while my dog was getting groomed nearby. The man scraping the Raclette cheese by the window caught my eye and the aroma lured me in. Moe and his partner provided friendly, outstanding hospitality. Their simple and unique menu definitely is a stand-out in San Francisco and no other restaurant is like this. Fresh ingredients, meats and Raclette cheese is so savory. I had the prosciutto di parm- "Holy Melt" wrap. Heavenly! Every ingredient complimented eachother. Stoked I tried this spot, will definitely come back!

We love raclette and were so excited to try this spot! We actually liked the place that was here before this so we were sad to see it go, but we are always excited for cheese! The shop is really small and there was a line out the door when we arrived on a weekday afternoon. That is typically a good sign. We were walking our dog so I went inside to check the board and choose my order and then switched with my husband. After about 10 minutes he texted me to say that they were out of what I wanted and really only had two options available so we went with the Proscuitto di parma melt (aka the holy melt). A few minutes later I came up to the window to check on the order and my husband was eating a ferrero rocher. I guess they were handing them out to people in line because it was taking so long. I thought that was very nice. Another 15 or so minutes passed and my husband was near the front. I saw the sandwich maker give him a pickle he had dipped in the raclette as another snack and thought that meant he would be coming out soon. It was another 10 minutes at least before he got his sandwich. The issue was that there were 3 people inside but only one was actually working. There was one man making the sandwiches and another man "assisting" him and then a woman just standing there. I did see her take a few orders but that was all. I can be sympathetic for a long wait in SF, especially for good food but this was too long for the line and definitely too long for what we got. For $20 we got a wrap with cheese and prosciutto. The raclette was ok but the novelty is muted when the majority of people are outside and can't really see the service of the cheese through the dirty windows. It's a half round they place on a warmer. The star of the meal was by far the prosciutto. It was salty and delicious. Overall though, we left underwhelmed and having spent a long time standing there waiting. For context, after I came out of the shop initially and my husband went in to order, I saw a man go into a barber shop for a haircut. He was finished and on his way before we were. So, while I didn't actually time the wait, it was excessive and not worth it. The sandwich was ok but I wouldn't return here. I do understand all the 5 star reviews flooding a new raclette place in SF, but it's really important to be honest about your experience on here to manage people's expectations.

It's always great to see a new business open and thrive. I love their sandwiches, which features raclette (apparently rare for San Francisco). Very tasty, great portion size and not terribly expensive. Provided they haven't run out of food - a distinct possibility here - you will be treated and helped by a very enthusiastic and happy staff. You can tell take the staff takes great pride in their food which is prepared right in front of you. I've had the sausage one which was decent, but the chicken melt is where it shines.

This spot it perfectly located on market in the Castro, perfect for evening bites! They recently opened, about a month ago. I was happy they had vegetarian option. They have sweet and savory goods. There is no seating so you will have to take your food to go. My food was amazing and I had leftovers! The gentleman behind the counter was very kind to describe what he was adding and asking preference. It takes a minute for the curation of the food so not for anyone in a rush but it's worth the wait.

New restaurant alert! These raclette sandwiches will fill your belly and your soul. Choose your style, pick your bread and prepare your tastebuds. If you've never had raclette, it's a strong cheese that's commonly melted next to a heater and scraped off onto your food. SOO GOOD. I tried the sausage and onions which was delicious. Moe was super friendly and made the sandwiches (INCLUDING THE BREAD) right in front of us. Make sure to stop by and support!

In my opinion Lapisara ranks in the middle due to the other excellent options available. Seated immediately--had a reso but on a Wednesday morning not really necessary. It took a long time for the single employee to get to us but we weren't in a hurry. Cappuccino was very good in a cute "bear mug" and very reasonably priced. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Price point good for SF and portions adequate to share. Location convenient so we will try dinner there tonight before a comedy show nearby. Dinner-5++ stars; 4 of us Had dinner last night-6pm-reso but not needed. only one other group dining. Single Waitress was great-we let her know we needed to leave in about an hour for a show and she timed everything perfectly--we even had time for dessert. we ordered so many items that she brought over an extra table--we shared everything family style. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!
