I thought the flavors of both were fine, but the textures were a bit off. My wife pointed out that it could be the buckwheat flour that gave them a very grainy chew. Some positive notes were that the presentation was appealing and the portion a decent size. The staff was nice but they could use some more help with cleaning off the tables. 11/29/2024 This little place in the Ferry Building was not busy when we arrived. It was small and quaint, towards one of the back entrances. The plain croissant and pain au chocolat croissants were fresh, flaky and delicious. We ordered a Nutella crepe for Little O at 11:18 am. We did not get it until 11:30 am!!! The guy making the savory crepes was cranking out 2-3 crepes versus the lady that made one sweet crepe. What is going on?!? ‍ The female employee at the register does not communicate at all with those cooking the crepes. She seems overwhelmed taking orders, bagging pastries, and making coffee. Then when Little O went to eat her crepe we noticed something cooked into it - a piece of paper! We brought it back to the lady at the counter. She did not apologize at all or offer to have a new one made. We just asked for a refund. She happily gave it to us but still no apology. We gave two stars because the pastries were pretty good. But to have paper cooked into the crepe definitely turned us off (one star since you can't give zero stars). read more

So after checking out the very busy farmers market at the Ferry Building, we decided to sit somewhere and get some food. Friend told me she already had an early morning snack of hard boiled eggs from the 7-11 close to her hotel, so I should get whatever that I wanted. We happened to pass by Grande Creperie which was on my "to try" list. Very busy on the particular Saturday we visited with lots of tourists. Line was a tad long and I had to wait maybe 15 minutes to order. I'm starting to appreciate those order it yourself type of kiosk in addition to in-person ordering. Maybe I'm just hungry and getting impatient. Signs of our time. Anyhoo, I got the La Marguerite crepe and an Americano. You pick up the drink first and then you can go find a seat with the order # they give you and a staff will deliver your crepe. The crepe itself is pretty substantial as it was a buckwheat crepe filled with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, greens and olive oil. My first time eating a buckwheat crepe. I ate it all by myself and it was pretty good tho I think I would want to try a sweet crepe next time. I reasoned that since it was a vegetarian crepe, it was fairly healthy and a good start to my day. Americano tastes like what it should. The crepes were quite good - light and not too heavy with fresh ingredients. The restaurant was quite crowded at noon on a Sunday with a line to order. I stopped here for a coffee a few Saturdays ago. There were only two people ahead of me, but it was approximately 12 - 15 minutes before I was able to give my order. At that point, I just wanted whatever was the fastest, so I ordered a regular coffee and asked for almond milk. I know that non-dairy milk generally means an added charge. I was charged $1 for a few tablespoons of almond milk that was added to my coffee. But then the coffee itself was not good. It was weak and lukewarm. My fault for not being patient enough to order a freshly made Americano. Unlikely that I will ever visit this cafe again. I really miss Red Bay coffee. read more

We decided to come here because as we were walking down the pier, we saw 2 ladies from different parties with a giant croissant in front of them! I was wondering what was this restaurant. I checked Yelp and saw it's a creperie! We were thinking of getting some crepes and possibly ask about the giant croissant. Cute atmosphere as you can sit inside or outside. The Nutella crepe was my favorite. It comes with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella. The crepe itself tasted yummy. We also got the savory ham crepe. It came in a healthier tasting crepe that was dark brown in color and crispier on the edges. The mozzarella one with tomatoes and garlic came in the same type of crepe. We got the chocolate chip cookie, and it was all right. They had other pastries, but I already had my mind set on the crepes, so I didn't try the others. (The pastries didn't look that tempting.) I'd only come back here for the Nutella crepe for dessert. While we were waiting for the food to come out, I went to go get coffee at Blue Bottle which now uses oat milk as a default. I am a crepe fanatic. I get them every time I see a place when I travel. That said... This is a quaint cafe, by the ferry departures, nice music playing and relaxed feel. You order at the counter & it was simple, they brought my crepe out. So no confusing 'what do I do' moments. I went with simple strawberry with jam (it's a French name I can't spell) and it was delicious. Jam is fresh purée & strawberries were ripe & perfect. The crepe is not my favorite style, I love them crispy at least on edges. But they were not too thick nor too chewy. Very nice texture & held up against the sauce. In hindsight, the consistency of the quiche was very loose, and I wonder if it was under-cooked. The quiche sits out on the counter, so possibly beware. -- This is an authentic crêperie located in the SF Ferry Building. We got the mushroom savory crapes, one with and one without an egg. Sadly, not a fan. Didn't take us back to Paris. Many of the items weren't available when we came Friday morning (stickers, placed over the sold out options). I ordered the forestiere. It was incredibly salty and I didn't finish it. I also tried my husband's saumon, which was a smoked salmon, it was a little fishy in flavor to me. We ordered the pear chocolat as a dessert, it wasn't that good. The chocolate on top of the pears became super watery. This one was also not finished. Only about two tables inside in front of the shop, more tables are available outside. You order inside, they also have a good selection of bakery items which we did not try. I decided to point and nod, so I don't mess it up. We also ordered a cup of coffee to drink with the crepe. Someone from my group claimed a seat outside, while the rest waited inside until we got the drinks. The drinks were served first, but these were picked up from the counter. After grabbing the drinks, we went to our seats and chatted away until our food arrived. I don't recall how long we chatted, but it was a slew of topics. I would say, it took some time for the crepes to arrive. If it weren't for our fun chatter the wait might have more than 20 minutes. The food arrived one at a time per guest. Mine might have been last, and it was the one with the egg. I like the presentation of the crepe and how it's shaped differently from other crepes, where they are folded into a cone. All three took photos, but they looked similar in appearance; the difference is in the filling. I liked mine, where I was able to break the egg yolk and it spread through the crepe batter. I love (LOVE!) a good buckwheat crepe, and they are difficult to find. This place has taken over the Frog Hollow Farms spot in the ferry building. I ordered the Forrester (mushrooms, onions and goat cheese), but added an egg (of course!) - always an egg-cellent idea. It was a friday around lunch time, so the ferry building was hopping, but there were plenty of seats outside. I opted for the small table just outside the open kitchen. Some of the crepe bites were excellent, and then some of them were just meh. I also think they need to get more on their game when the crepes are completed and ready to serve. Several orders I saw sat there for a good 5 mins before one of the 2 gals up front went to serve them.
